You never know a person until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes, and you never know a comedian until you’ve watched them walk through a doorway in the longest shoes, hastily fashioned out of drainpipes they found in the Taskmaster shed, and then argued about with Greg Davies for points. Taskmaster is a window into the souls of our nation’s clowns, and here’s whose souls we’ll be nosying into for series 14: Dara Ó Briain, Fern Brady, John Kearns, Munya Chawawa and Sarah Millican!
(No, it’s still not Richard Ayoade. Maybe we should try a gov.uk petition.)
It’s a very solid line-up of up-and-coming comics flanked by two household name comedians, and follows on from the second Champion of Champions special and Series 13’s excellent collection of Ardal O’Hanlon, Bridget Christie, Chris Ramsay, Judi Love (Judi. Love.) and Sophie ‘Don’t call me Ducker’ Duker.

HBO on Friday rolled out a series of new network bumpers, enlisting the casts of some of its biggest shows to appear in character and harmonize on the signature static intro that precedes all of its original programming. As you can tell, John Oliver isn’t all that into it.
“What is the point of this whole concept?” the Last Week Tonight host asks at the top of the video above. “Nobody tunes into HBO for static. That is not a beloved sound.

Sesame Street is on the move from PBS to HBO, but in Oscar the Grouch’s eyes, it’s all just “one ghetto, man.”
RelatedSesame Street on HBO: See First Trailer and New Poster for Season 46
To be fair, those weren’t actually the muppet’s words, but rather, the words of True Detective‘s Rust Cohle.
You see, in an effort to prepare viewers for Sesame‘s relocation to the unfiltered world of cable on Saturday, Jan. 16, Jimmy Kimmel Live went ahead and replaced a conversation between Oscar and Big Bird with an intense exchange from the Matthew McConaughey...

Sesame Street Season 46 will premiere Saturday, Jan. 16 on HBO, the children’s series’ new home for original episodes. And that’s far from the only change on tap for Elmo, Cookie Monster et al.

The casting for Fox’s Batman prequel series Gotham continues as Donal Logue has been picked to play Harvey Bullock, a detective on the Gotham police, one with a confusing history thank to all those continuity reboots at DC Comics.
Fox has ordered a comedy series from the writers of The Lego Movie. The Last Man on Earth stars Will Forte as, well… the last man on earth. The series is expected to start airing sometime in 2015.
Will Forte
The cast of Sharknado 2 has added a handful of actors including Vivica A. Fox, Judah Freidlander, Mark McGrath, Judd Hirsch (playing a cabbie, see what they did?), Kelly Osbourne and, uh, Andy Dick. In a few of those cases, I suspect the casting is the result of a “Which celebrity would you like to see eaten by a shark? (Yes, we already know about Tara Reid.)” survey.
Yes, there is a change.
