Katie Couric made a candid announcement about her health.
On Wednesday, the TV personality and journalist shared a blog post on her website revealing that she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Couric, 65, went to a scheduled pap smear appointment in May. While at the doctor’s office, the gynecologist told her she was also due for a mammogram. The next month, the former “Today” show anchor booked a date for a mammogram. She recalled Dr. Drossman telling her that undergoing the biopsy was important because there’s “something here that I’d like to check out. It could be scar tissue.”
On June 21, Couric received an urgent text message from her doctor.
“A text came in: ‘Please call me in the office to discuss biopsy results. I tried calling you on your cell. Your mailbox is full,'” she detailed in her blog post.
Moments later, she was told she had breast cancer.

Lisa Laflamme’s predecessor is on her side.
Former CTV National News anchor Lloyd Robertson shared his thoughts on Laflamme’s controversial firing, with a comparison to Shakespeare, Guelph Today reported.

Robertson was participating in a discussion at the Stratford Festival’s Tom Patterson Theatre when he likened the situation to that of Cordelia in the play King Lear.
“She held to her own integrity, all through with the old man. From the beginning, saying, ‘My bond is our father-daughter relationship.’ Right to the end, she was there for him,” he said.
In the play, Cordelia is banished by her father, the king, after she stays true to her sense of honesty and refuses to profess her love for him, as her sisters deceitfully do.
Despite the banishment, Cordelia returns later to care for her ailing father.

Lisa Laflamme, chief news anchor at Canadian broadcaster CTV, has taken to Twitter to announce she has been forced out as host of CTV National News, the country’s top-rated newscast.
“On June 29, I was informed that [CTV parent] Bell Media made a ‘business decision’ to end my contract, bringing to a sudden close my long career with CTV News. I was blindsided and I’m still shocked and saddened by Bell Media’s decision,” Laflamme announced Monday.
Since 2011, Laflamme anchored CTV National News, and before that she worked for 10 years as CTV News’ national affairs correspondent. Bell Media issued a statement Monday explaining the decision to replace Laflamme with Omar Sachedina.

The comedians of the defunct show Royal Canadian Air Farce will be back for the New Year's Eve at 8 Pm on CBC.
Obviously, these comedians are Jessica Holmes, Penelope Corrin, Alan Park, Roger Abbott, Don Ferguson, Craig Lauzon and Luba Goy. As always, they'll poke fun at all the major newsmakers of 2010.
Speaking of that, we can think about the rise of teen-singer Justin Bieber, the G8/G20, WikiLeaks' cables, William and Kate, Lady Gaga's high-protein apparel, Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, Celine Dion, Tony Hayward, the Chilean miners, Barack Obama, Joseph Biden and even the soccer World Cup.
CBC also revealed that Lloyd Robertson, one of Canada's news anchors, will guest-star. He will look back at his four decades anchoring national newscasts at CBC and CTV, another Canadian TV network. Other guest-stars will include journalists Lisa Laflamme, Peter Mansbridge and Brian Williams.

Toronto – Having been passed over to replace top CTV network news anchor Lloyd Robertson, Tom Clark has left the Canadian broadcasters after four decades.
Clark's sudden departure as the host of CTV News Channel's "Power Play with Tom Clark" follows rival Lisa Laflamme being chosen to replace Robertson as host of "CTV National News" in mid-2011.
Clark, a former CTV News bureau chief in Washington D.C. and China, was also passed over in a recent changing of the guard at rival Global Television, where former NBC foreign correspondent Dawna Friesen eventually replaced Kevin Newman as chief news anchor.
"CTV is extremely proud of its long association with Tom Clark, and wishes him well in his future endeavours," CTV News president Robert Hurst said in a terse statement.

They're billing the February 4 episode of Bones as the "Winter Finale". This frightens me, because I think there won't be any new episodes of Bones again until April 1, but I'm not 100% sure about that, so let me check it out and get back to you. In the meantime, why don't you check out the promo photos and synopsis for the February 4 episode below.
You can also check out photos for the January 21 episode and the January 28 episode.
