Paramount+’s “iCarly” revival may be another oft-touted example of repackaged IP for these nostalgia-driven times. But stars Miranda Cosgrove and Nathan Kress see it as both an homage to the beloved Nickelodeon original and its fans, as well as an exercise in “realism” rather than plain fanfare.
“We’ve gone through our early to mid-20s, and we’re heading into our 30s and that’s freaky,” Kress, who plays Freddie, told TheWrap. “We’re able to use that as a basis for realism in this entire show, and I think, fortunately, that’s what made it relatable to our audience because they were growing up right there with us. We weren’t just trying to stay in this box of, ‘We’re a kids show so we’re gonna stay forever youthful and naive and just happy all the time.’”

Death is coming to “Bless the Harts” this fall — at least Betty really, really thinks it is. In TheWrap’s exclusive sneak peek from the Fox animated series’ virtual table read of the Season 2 episode “Crappy Death Day,” Betty (Maya Rudolph) is absolutely convinced that she’s going to die on Jan. 12, which just so happens to be the day this episode takes place, because a psychic told her it is when she would croak.
Of course, Betty takes this as the opportunity to be even more melodramatic than she already is around her daughter Jenny (Kristen Wiig), her granddaughter Violet (Jillian Bell), and Jenny’s boyfriend Wayne (Ike Barinholtz), because now she’s about to go “be with Jesus.”
“Bless the Harts” cast members Wiig, Rudolph, Barinholtz and Bell were joined in the table read, the first five minutes of which you can view via the video above, by guest stars Ken Jeong,...

Butch Hartman has a long and storied history of creating great cartoon shows. Not only is he responsible for The Fairly OddParents, the second longest-running Nicktoon on Nickelodeon, but he’s also created several other popular shows including Danny Phantom and T.U.F.F. Puppy. And now here he is once again with a unique new Nickelodeon show, Bunsen is a Beast.
Bunsen is a Beast is a cartoon about Bunsen (voiced by Jeremy Rowley), the first beast to be integrated into the Muckledunk Middle School, and his new human friend Mikey Munroe (Ben Giroux). It also features self-appointed school safety monitor and beast-hater Amanda Killman (Kari Wahlgren) and a collection of other oddball characters such as Ms. Flap (Cheri Oteri) and Darcy, who circle the main pair during their adventures.
But what is a Beast, per se? Well, in Hartman’s creation, even within the Beast world there appears to be great variety,...

Warning: This article contains spoilers for upcoming episodes of Modern Family.
Modern Family has become one of those extremely rare television events: a show that’s a hit with both critics and audiences; in its second season, the show has received a rare "perfect" Metacritic score of a 100 (which means every single critic registered loves it), and the show’s ratings, up considerably from last year, make it the 19th most-watched show on television – and the third most-watched sitcom.
There was a brief Facebook protest last year over the lack of overt physical affection shown between gay couple Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), but I thought that controversy mostly missed the forest for the trees: with a gay family prominently featured as one third of its ensemble cast (and presented as a family, alongside the other “modern” families), Modern Family is one of the gayest,...
