If you watched Season Three of Only Murders in the Building, you know it ended with, well, another murder in the building. But if there’s one thing fans can count on, it’s that Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short) will be sure to follow the case closely.

[This story includes major spoilers from the Only Murders in the Building season three finale.]
Season three of Only Murders in the Building ended with another, well, murder. But this time, the victim will hit close to home for the starring trio, especially for Charles (Steve Martin).
The final moments of the season three finale, “Opening Night,” saw Sazz (Jane Lynch) fall to the floor of Charles’ kitchen after being shot in the chest through the window. It’s probably safe to assume next season’s murderer hoped to take down Martin’s character, but confused him with his longtime stunt double. Before the screen cuts to black, Sazz is seen attempting to write something on Charles’ colorful floor with blood from her chest.
While fans will have to wait until Only Murders in the Building season four — which was announced Tuesday morning — to see who wants to kill Charles and why, showrunner John Hoffman teased what...

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers for “Opening Night,” the Season 3 finale of “Only Murders in the Building.”
Season 3 sees Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Short) work together to uncover who may have wanted to kill Ben, and the list is long.
Ben, the star of Oliver’s new Broadway play, was hated by a lot of people. As it turns out, that includes Charles, who punched Ben across the face right before opening night. It also includes Loretta, played by Meryl Streep, who is secretly the biological mother of Ben’s manager and adopted brother, Dickie (Jeremy Shamos). And there’s Dickie himself, the overshadowed creator of the movie franchise that made Ben famous.
But as is revealed in Season 3 finale of “Only Murders in the Building,” titled “Opening Night,” it’s the producers of Oliver’s play — a mother and son — who are revealed to have done the deed.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Only Murders in the Building” Season 3, Episode 10, “Opening Night.”]
If you’ll allow a dreadful detective a brief moment to savor his sagacity: I absolutely called the cookie thing.
Yes, technically, the poisoned Schmackary’s pastry was part of the penultimate episode’s big reveal — when the murder board’s accusatory tacks jumped from Loretta (Meryl Streep) to Donna (Linda Emond) — but it also bears weight for the finale’s last twist and helps explain how well said twist lands with viewers.
Back when we first saw the recording of Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) talking to an offscreen someone (or something), his chosen words sounded a little too particular. “I want you so fucking bad,” he says, “but we both know you’ll ruin my career.” Based only on his few choice scenes in the premiere, what does Ben want? Cookies. What can’t he have? Also, cookies. (He’s...

Spoiler Alert: The following reveals major plot points from the Season 3 finale of Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building.
And thus ends another chapter of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building with a killer reveal and a fresh new murder mystery yet to unravel. Season 3 is currently available to stream in its entirety via the streamer.
The big mystery as to who killed Ben Gilroy (Paul Rudd) was resolved and it’s almost always the person you least expect—at least it was for me. I hardly paid any mind to this character and secretly wanted it to be the talented and mysterious Loretta Durkin the entire time out of pure selfishness so we could spend more time with Meryl Streep in Season 4.
Alas, Ben’s killer was none other than Cliff DeMeo (Wesley Taylor). Cliff and his mother Donna DeMeo (Linda Emond) co-produced Oliver’s (Martin Short) big Broadway return—you know,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Only Murders in the Building, Season 3, Episode 10, “Opening Night.”] Only Murders in the Building has uncovered its Season 3 murderer, solving the mystery behind Ben Glenroy’s (Paul Rudd) untimely death. As it turns out, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel’s (Selena Gomez) theory that producer Donna DeMeo (Linda Emond) was responsible for poisoning Ben was accurate but not a fully-baked theory. Sure, she provided Ben with a Schmakary’s cookie sprinkled with rat poison, but her son Clifford DeMeo (Wesley Taylor) gave Ben the final push down an elevator shaft at the Arconia. At first, Donna confesses to it all, claiming she killed Ben, but Mabel notices the protective nature of her confession, which includes the fact that she’d only intended to knock Ben out after reading a bad review for the play. Realizing Donna initially intended to protect her son, Mabel observes the mother-son duo from afar,...

Who killed Paul Rudd? That was the number one question on Only Murders in the Building all season long, as the Hulu murder mystery comedy launched viewers into its third season with the star-studded slaying of special guest star Rudd as superstar Ben Glenroy. Now, following the season finale, “Opening Night,” we have our answer, and we’re left with an even deadlier question: Who killed Jane Lynch?
Before its shocking final scene, “Opening Night” untangles the mystery of Ben Glenroy’s death. At the start of the season, everyone assumed Glenroy had died onstage during the opening night of Oliver Putnam’s (Martin Short) new play. In fact, he survived, only to plummet to his death later that evening down an elevator shaft at the Arconia. Did the same killer strike twice,...

We have another murder in the building, Arconiacs!
After a murder-free year, the first supposed death of Ben Gilroy hit everyone with a bang, and Mabel's reaction on Only Murders In the Building Season 2 Episode 10 was a testament to another death plaguing the building.
The probability of someone being in the center of murders three times in a row is very low.
Yet on Only Murders In the Building Season 3 Episode 1, Ben died, was resurrected, and died properly. And each time, Mabel suspected foul play.
We were reunited with our offbeat trio, and in the two-episode season premiere, they seemed out of sync. Sure, there was the same old banter between the three, which never gets old, but it didn't feel like old times.
Charles: I know you're nervous. I know your last Broadway show was a disaster. Everyone knows that. The world knows it.
Mabel: Fast forward, fast forward.

In its third season, Only Murders in the Building continues to strive to balance the genuine intrigue of a murder mystery with a light satire of true-crime culture and whodunit clichés. The results are consistently amusing but hardly as riveting as other iterations of this subgenre—including Poker Face and the previous two seasons of Only Murders in the Building.
The show’s unlikely trio of amateur sleuths—washed-up TV star Charles Haden Savage (Steve Martin), disgraced Broadway director Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), and rudderless millennial Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez)—had sworn to only investigate murders that take place in their high-end Manhattan apartment complex, but last season’s coda teased a challenge to their agreement: a murder outside the building! Fall TV is about to get pinched. The ongoing SAG and WGA strikes have, as intended, disrupted an industry in need of disruption. Some series are being delayed. Others have been pushed off the calendar entirely. Even with what we will see in the coming months, the AMPTP’s greed is forcing a workforce that loves a hot mic to keep quiet about the shows they make possible. While it’s nothing compared to the highway robbery Hollywood executives are trying to get away with when it comes to not paying talent, audiences are still about to lose out on something special.
All this is to say: Curse the studios for making the “Only Murders in the Building” Season 3 press tour impossible — aka killing a parade of interviews where everyone gets to share fresh, funny, and insightful stories about Meryl Fucking Streep.
Thankfully, what’s onscreen stands just fine on its own.

There are nearly 500 anti-lgbtq+ bills currently advancing through state legislatures. Many bills specifically target drag shows or other public performances–censoring or outright banning them. Of course, there are also plenty of Don’t Say Gay bills, bathroom bills, and other anti-trans bills circulating in this country. It’s a terrifying time to be queer. Such lawmaking creates an atmosphere of fear, hate, and violence, and it’s difficult to find joy. Joy, such an elusive experience these days. But I found the joy I so desperately needed recently with Wesley Taylor and Alex Wyse’s Summoning Sylvia, one of the year’s most important releases.

Whether it’s a true crime podcast or an Emmy-winning comedy series, most creators like there to be an air of mystery around their projects. But, when you get a couple of comedy legends up on stage, anything is liable to slip out, and that appears to be the case with the upcoming third season of Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.”

Martin Short and Steve Martin were at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Fla. on Saturday, April 29 and apparently, Steve Martin let the cat out of the bag as to when fans can look forward to seeing them back on screen as two-thirds of a somewhat bumbling murder-solving trio.

Now available on VOD and Digital HD on all major platforms from The Horror Collective, our latest Q&a is with Summoning Sylvia co-star Troy Iwata who tells us all about the new LGBTQ horror comedy:
What drew you to Summoning Sylvia and the character of Reggie?
Troy Iwata: I actually auditioned for Kevin originally, sent in an audition tape for that and then just got an offer for Reggie so I was like…ok. Any opportunity that offers a refreshing glimpse into queer representation I’m all for. First off I was obsessed with how funny the script was and the blending of genres was enticing as well. I loved that it was a story that took place after the coming-out process, after the self-discovery and acceptance process. There’s an entire life that happens after all of those journeys for queer people and it’s light and beautiful...

A gay bachelor party gets mysterious when the group of men recount the house’s legend from a hundred years ago. A woman, Sylvia, slaughtered, and buried her son beneath the floorboards. But things get even worse when Larry remembers he was supposed to be bonding with his soon-to-be brother-in-law, and as he invites him over, the séance begins.
If you hadn’t guessed from that synopsis above, Summoning Sylvia is a comedy horror and thankfully, what it does best, is actually be funny.
