According to rumors, James Gunn will make Green Arrow a part of his Justice League team in the Dcu. The character has a decent fanbase, thanks to Stephen Amell’s eight-season run as Oliver Queen in The CW show, Arrow. Earlier, Zack Snyder tried to include the character in the Dceu, with another actor considered for the role, but it didn’t ultimately work out. Interestingly, rumors also suggest that Dcu will make Black Canary his partner.

Amell expressed interest in reprising the character for a film version, which also didn’t happen probably due to Amell’s personal life troubles. The character Black Canary appeared in the Dceu, played by Jurnee Smollett, in the film Birds of Prey.

Four days ago Warner Bros. Pictures unveiled the long-awaited first look at Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom along with the first small batch of photos. That teaser promised a full trailer would arrive today, and WB delivered on that promise with a nearly three-minute, jam-packed trailer.
Aquaman starring Jason Momoa in the title role hit theaters back in 2018. And now, five years and one long Covid shutdown later, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is swimming toward a December 20, 2023 theatrical release.
Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman return alongside Momoa to star in the sequel. James Wan is also back as director and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick wrote the screenplay, based on a story by Wan, Johnson-McGoldrick, Momoa, and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett. Updated, 9:21 a.m.: Warner Bros on Thursday unveiled the first full-length trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the very long awaited sequel to the subaquatic James Wan superhero pic which remains one of DC’s biggest successes.
“Four years ago, I was basically unemployed, a wanderer with no home,” Jason Momoa’s title character proclaims in the segment. “But now, I’m a husband and a father. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
He’s now got a job, as well, looking after a kingdom of half a billion as King of Atlantis. But not everything comes easily for him in the sequel, as Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) returns in hopes of taking him out.

Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’ s All-Star Superman is described as the finest salute to Silver Age ever to be written, embracing all the silliness and heart found in the Mort Weisinger-edited run of the Superman family of titles. Distilled down into a feature animated film, the story remains the same, just tighter.
The 2011 Warner Home Entertainment release is back, making its 4K Ultra HD debut. I liked it when first released, and the new edition is sharper and crisper, the 2060p transfer is excellent. Is it enough to upgrade? That’s up to you, but it belongs in your home video library in one form or another.
The strength in the adaptation has everything to do with the late Dwayne McDuffie’s screen adaptation, aided and enhanced by a wonderful score by composer Christopher Drake
The DTS-hd 5.1 Master Audio track is the same as the 2011 release and sounds just fine.

In the 1960s, Mort Weisinger ran more than a few stories speculating on what would happen had Superman and Batman married and had offspring, although no two stories were connected. Under Murray Boltinoff, World’s Finest Comics in 1973 began a series of stories about Clark Kent, Jr, and Bruce Wayne, Jr., which had its following. More recently, Superman and Lois had a son, Jonathan, while Batman met Damian, his biological son, grown in a test tube by Ra’s al Ghul. Once they established themselves, it was inevitable the youngster would be paired up and a series of entertaining Super Sons stories ran, mostly in the capable hands of writer Peter Tomasi.

Comic book superheroes are inherently kind of silly, which is part of their charm. That's not to say you can't use them to tell dramatic stories or explore serious real-world issues; many talented comic book writers and filmmakers have done exactly that. All the same, it's quite easy to poke fun at them, from their vibrantly colored outfits to their ridiculous superhuman powers.

The West coast of America. Home once upon a time to a second team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The target is one of those heroes, having served on both rosters. A mere mortal amongst gods and soldiers, time and time again he has put it all on the line and came out to fight another day. We catch up with him as he traces down a lead on an old adversary. Of course we know this all to be a set up. He is here merely to be captured for our own amusement. The blue light flashes bright catching his eye, but quick enough to catch him off guard.
Later across the multiverses. Star City home to a vigilante who has stood the test of time from the Golden Age till now. Like his West coast counterpart this vigilante has stood side by side with his universes most powerful heroes.

Stargirl continues to deliver some of the deepest cuts in DC Universe TV history to fans each week. Not only that, it does it with not a hint of irony about it, even when it’s presenting characters who, to modern eyes, might appear a little bit hokey if presented in their original form. The latest example of that comes with their revelation of the Seven Soldiers of Victory, a relatively obscure group of Golden Age superheroes who fought alongside the Justice Society of America back in the day.
The DC Comics version of the Seven Soldiers of Victory first appeared in 1941’s Leading Comics #1 by Mort Weisinger (who went on to become a legendary editor of the Superman titles during the Silver Age) and Mort Meskin. The nascent WarnerMedia streamer has ordered a three-part animated series titled “Aquaman: King of Atlantis.” James Wan, who directed on worked on the story for the 2018 live-action “Aquaman” film, is onboard to executive produce the animated series.
“King of Atlantis” will begin with Aquaman’s first day on the job as king of Atlantis. Luckily, he has his two royal advisors to back him up – Vulko, the scholar, and Mera, the water controlling warrior-princess. Between dealing with unscrupulous surface dwellers, elder evils from beyond time and his own half-brother who wants to overthrow him, Aquaman is going to have to rise to the challenge and prove to his subjects, and to himself, that he’s the right man for the trident.

When I first got into comics I would only really see Green Arrow in DC group shots in adverts and stuff. My train of thought at the time was ‘Oh The Avengers have an archer so naturally so do the Jla.’ I really got into the character a few years later when I picked up Kevin Smiths ‘Quiver’ story arc from the local library. I was going with the association of Smith’s name rather than anything else, but I absolutely loved it! Later from the same library I was able to pick up the following story arc. Fast forward a few years from that and all of a sudden Oliver Queen is the face of a brand new TV series that would run for 8 seasons and launch a very successful DC TV universe. Hopefully the show has done its job and brought a new audience to Green Arrow comics.

Created by Paul Norris & Mort Weisinger, Aquaman debuted in 1941's More Fun Comics #73. In his Golden Age appearances, Aquaman is described as a human being who lives and thrives under the water and can speak with sea creatures "in their own language." During the late '50s and 60s, Aquaman was established as a founding member of the Justice League and was a mainstay on Hanna Barbera’s Super Friends, which ran from 1973 to 1986. In the '90s, the wholesome seahorse-riding superhero was re-imagined as the brooding King of Atlantis. Fast-forward to 2011 and The New 52, DC's relaunch of their entire superhero line, and Geoff Johns' cutting-edge revival of the character, which serves as the basis for Aquaman, the third live-action movie featuring the character, following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Ready to see what DC Comics and Dceu goodness is hidden in the seaweed of the Aquaman movie? We've got you covered!
This article contains nothing but Aquaman spoilers.
After years of development, the Aquaman movie is finally here. For a little perspective, we first glimpsed Jason Momoa as Aquaman in a brief cameo in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but he had been cast in the role as early as 2014. That's...quite a long time to wait for the king of Atlantis to ascend (or descend) to his throne, even when you take his starring role in last year's Justice League movie into account.
And just as we've seen in every Dceu movie, Aquaman is absolutely packed to the gills (sorry) with DC Universe easter eggs. With a tremendous amount of reverence for Aquaman comic book history, and a few subtle nods to the wider DC Comics world,...

Hold onto your fins, everyone. James Wan and Jason Momoa brought “Aquaman” to San Diego Comic-Con during Warner Bros.’ annual Hall H panel Saturday morning, along with the first trailer for the film that dares to ask: can Aquaman actually be cool?
The answer is apparently “hell yes,” judging from the footage, which you can watch above.
Based on the character created in 1941 by Mort Weisinger and Paul Norris for DC, “Aquaman” picks up after the events of “Justice League,” as Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa), the reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, is caught in a battle between surface dwellers that threaten his oceans and his own people, who are ready to lash out and invade the surface.

Even though many enduring elements that we now associate with Superman were products of the Silver Age or the 1940’s radio drama, it’s important that we never forget the contributions that Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster made to comic books – and pop culture as a whole – when they created the Man of Steel for Action Comics #1 back in 1938. After all, that served as the very blueprint for the superhero genre as we know it today.
With that, one could say that the character’s 80th anniversary being celebrated by the release of the one-thousandth issue of Action is a bit too poetic. And appropriately enough, DC is complementing the periodical release of said issue with a commemorative hardcover titled Action Comics #1000: 80 Years of Superman. Suffice it to say, this is shaping up to be a must-own for any fan of Big Blue.
Understandably, many of you reading this...

My mother died when I was a baby, and he turned to his work of solving the ocean's secrets.
