The Taylor Sheridan series has been one of the most successful projects from the Yellowstone creator that does not feature the Dutton Family. With a second season greenlit almost as soon as the first episode debuted, everyone has been wondering what is coming from the show’s sophomore run. So, let’s dive in and take a look at what Sylvester Stallone and his crime crew will be coming up with this year.
Who is running the show (literally)?

Action star Sylvester Stallone is all set to return for the second season of the Paramount+ TV show Tulsa King. The crime drama was created by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan and its first season was one of the most-watched shows in the network’s history. Stallone recently took to Instagram to promote the upcoming second season.
While Stallone expressed his excitement for the show’s sophomore season, he seemed to have avoided an ongoing controversy. Several casting agencies reportedly pulled out of the show after news of alleged ‘toxic’ behavior on set from the Rocky star and the show’s director came out. The accusations have been denied by director Craig Zisk, who was present on set.

Sylvester Stallone took to social media this week to promote the forthcoming second season of his Paramount + series, Tulsa King, without addressing the accusations that he and one of the show’s unnamed directors were allegedly responsible for a “toxic” on-set environment for its hired background actors, who were reportedly mocked by both for their appearances.
On Monday, Stallone did not address the accusations in an Instagram post, where the 1970s cinema icon appears dressed in a lavender suit as his character, Dwight “The General” Manfredi. Instead, he notified fans that he is on set shooting the second season, which comes from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
“Ringing the bell on location for Tulsa King part two,” Stallone captioned the on-set image.

Tulsa King is embroiled in a controversy surrounding the treatment of its background actors.
An Atlanta-based casting agency has quit the Paramount+ dramedy amid claims posted online that background actors were verbally abused on the set by star Sylvester Stallone. The show is produced by 101 Studios, which is actively looking into the claims, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. At this point, the claims have not been verified, and the show’s director, Craig Zisk, is denying it ever happened.
This is an evolving story, but here’s what’s known so far.
Catrett Locke Casting confirmed on its Facebook page Monday that it was parting ways with Tulsa King, which recently started production on season two.

‘Tulsa King’ Casting Company Quits After Sylvester Stallone Accused Of Disparaging Background Actors
An Atlanta-based casting company has left Tulsa King in the wake of allegations that Sylvester Stallone and one of the directors had disparaged some background actors who were working on the Paramount+ drama.
Rose Locke Casting of Atlanta was hired to find actors ages 18 and over for the second season of the Taylor Sheridan series. But apparently the working conditions on Tulsa King soon became fodder on a private Facebook page for Atlanta-based background actors; Stallone and an unnamed director were accused of calling some of the extras “ugly,” “tub of lard” and “fat guy with cane.” The recipient of the latter comment apparently said later that it “hurt his soul” to hear himself described that way on set.
Allegedly, Stallone then suggested that production bring in “pretty young girls to be around me,” instead.
Rose Locke Casting announced on its Facebook page Sunday that it was leaving the show.

Tulsa King season 2 has now started shooting, and Deadline reports that Craig Zisk (Weeds) has signed on to direct and executive produce the Paramount+ series.
It was reported last year that showrunner Terence Winter would be stepping down from the series following some creative differences with creator Taylor Sheridan. However, he decided to come back as a writer for the second season, which would keep his interactions with Sheridan at a minimum.
While Winter is still involved as an executive producer, he will primarily focus on writing for the show as well as working closely with Sylvester Stallone. “He loves these characters and loved working with Sly and was glad his post-strike schedule allowed him to return to write but not run the show,” a source said. Almost two years ago, the decades-long struggle to bring an adaptation of the beloved video game franchise "Halo" to life finally resulted in, well, a seriously underwhelming Paramount+ show. The fact that the live-action debut of the Master Chief, his Spartan super-soldiers, and their epic war against the alien Covenant had to be relegated to a streaming service, as opposed to receiving the full red carpet treatment on the big screen, was probably an indictment in and of itself. It spoke poorly of this irrevocably Silicon Valley-influenced studio system we currently find ourselves in, and of the lack of ambition and imagination of the decisionmakers involved. Ultimately, it also revealed our own shortcomings as an audience -- one that couldn't simply be satisfied with a number of tremendously well-realized stories told in their perfect medium.

Julian Elijah Martinez and Dave East are set as series regulars and The Sopranos alum Vinnie Pastore will recur in Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga, a 10-episode drama from Wu-Tang Clan frontman The RZA, writer Alex Tse (Superfly) and Imagine Television. In addition, Craig Zisk will direct two episodes of the series and co-executive produce.
Created and written by The RZA and Tse, the series is based on the Wu-Tang Clan, one of the most influential groups in hip-hop history, and will explore and expand the band’s world.
Set in early ’90s New York at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic, the show tracks the Clan’s formation, a vision of Bobby Diggs (Ashton Sanders) aka The RZA, who strives to unite a dozen young, black men that are torn between music and crime but eventually rise to become the unlikeliest of American success stories.
Martinez will portray Divine.

The Emmys are unfolding at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Calif., with “Game of Thrones,” “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and “SNL” leading the pack of nominations.
“SNL” co-head writers — and Emmy nominees themselves — Michael Che and Colin Jost are hosting the 70th annual awards show.
Variety‘s final predictions show Elisabeth Moss and “The Handmaid’s Tale” as strong contenders in their respective categories, with “The Americans” a dark horse candidate across several categories. With “Veep” ineligible for competition, the best comedy series race has finally opened up with “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” the likely champ. “American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace” is also a key player in the limited series or movie realm.

“Throughout the whole series, we felt the pressure to honor the people who lost their lives and their family members,” reveals “The Looming Tower” director Craig Zisk. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning nonfiction book by Lawrence Wright, the limited series explores how internal conflicts between the FBI and CIA unwittingly set the stage for the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Now Zisk is an Emmy nominee for helming the harrowing finale, “9/11.” Watch our exclusive video interview with him above.
See Jeff Daniels (‘The Looming Tower’) wonders, did we learn anything from 9/11, ‘or are we more divided than ever?’ [Exclusive Video Interview]
In revisiting the al-Qaeda attack on the World Trade Center, Zisk and the rest of the show’s creative team “wanted to make sure that, in each scene, we weren’t doing anything that could possibly offend” the victims and survivors, while still “trying to get at the truth.” That was an emotional task for all involved.

Ryan Murphy has now been nominated a total of 28 times at the Emmys and has taken home four trophies. However, the only individual Emmy he has won so far was for directing the “Glee” pilot back in 2010. Will he now take home his second individual Emmy eight years later for directing the first episode of “The Assassination of Gianni Versace,” titled “The Man Who Would Be Vogue”?
Currently, Gold Derby’s racetrack odds have Murphy in the lead to win Best Movie/Mini Directing, ahead of David Lynch (“Twin Peaks”), Scott Frank (“Godless”), David Leveaux and Alex Rudzinski (“Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert”), Edward Berger (“Patrick Melrose”), Craig Zisk (“The Looming Tower”) and Barry Levinson (“Paterno”).

When the Emmy nominations were announced on Thursday morning, July 12, it looked like it might have been a complete shut out for “Twin Peaks.” The Showtime revival was snubbed for Best Limited Series and Kyle MacLachlan was also missing from Best Movie/Mini Actor. But when the entire list was released it turned out the show had done pretty well for itself in behind-the-scenes categories. It picked up nine total bids including Best Movie/Mini Directing for David Lynch and Best Movie/Mini Writing for Lynch and Mark Frost. Could the show still win those categories despite its snub in top categories? Yes, because “The Hour” is at hand.

“The Handmaid’s Tale” kept Hulu in the Emmy conversation, and it is still proving to be the reason the streamer is dominating some major awards discussions.
Hulu scored 27 nominations from the Television Academy for the 70th annual primetime television awards, up from 18 last year, with 20 of those nominations for “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
The series scored key nods in categories including drama series, lead actress in a drama (Elisabeth Moss), supporting actress in a drama, supporting actor in a drama (Joseph Fiennes), guest actress in a drama, drama series directing (Kari Skogland), and drama series writing (Bruce Miller).
The streamer’s historical limited series, “The Looming Tower,” on the other hand, picked up three nominations, including casting, directing (Craig Zisk), and supporting actor in a limited series or movie (Michael Stuhlbarg).
“I Love You, America With Sarah Silverman” also picked up a variety sketch series nom for Hulu.

It’s Emmy season 2018 and that means we’re back with a brand new run of TV Talk. Coming just days after our packed Deadline’s The Contenders Emmy event at the DGA, we’re jumping in right away with a look at the legacy of Atlanta’s Donald Glover and who could be up for a Best Actor in a Comedy Series when the Primetime Emmy nominations are announced July 12.
Will Solo: A Star Wars Story actor Glover take home the Emmy again with Atlanta Robbin’ Season? Could Black-ish’s Anthony Anderson break through after three previous nominations? Maybe Will & Grace’s Eric McCormack win with the NBC revival almost two decades after his last victory? It seems pretty clear that former Transparent star and past winner Jeffrey Tambor won’t be in the running after being bounced from the Amazon series after accusations of sexual harassment, but...

Hulu’s The Looming Tower tackles terrorism and the lead up to 9/11 that was 60 years in the making, managing to pack the multifaceted subject into ten episodes. The result is as riveting as the subject matter. Based on the Lawrence Wright book of the same name, one White House insider called it the definitive crash course on Al Qaeda.

1.4 Monster Swamp
Annville, Texas, is a terrible place. The main employer is a slaughter house; the second-biggest employer seems to be the local whorehouse. This is the sort of place where bodies are buried out in the desert, people are attacked with chainsaws, and there's a snuff film festival down the road. The school bus driver is a paedophile. The death of a beloved prostitute is treated like a joke by the very people who inadvertently brought about her death. The only way the local church can attract a crowd is by giving away a television, and the only way that Jesse Custer can win souls is by using the voice to force the town's most prominent member to serve God.

Taking advantage of the lucrative UK TV tax credit, AMC is the latest U.S. network to head to London to make a pilot. Film London, the body that promotes shooting in the British capital, confirmed today that the AMC Studios-produced Knifeman will follow in the footsteps of Fox’s 24: Live Another Day which recently shot there. The six month 24 shoot generated about £37M worth of local production spend and helped up the city’s profile as a TV production center. Knifeman is inspired by the biography of John Hunter by Wendy Moore, The Knife Man: Blood, Body Snatching And The Birth Of Modern Surgery. It’s set in 18th Century London and centers on a charming, arrogant surgeon (Tim Roth) who robs graves and harvests organs.
