Donald Trump Jr. pressed his father, former President Donald Trump, to select a “strong “fighter” as his running mate.
In an interview with the New York Post, Trump Jr. highlighted the importance of choosing the right vice president, wanting someone who can take a punch and hit back harder.
“What I want in that role is, I want a fighter,” stated Trump Jr., “I understand what they are going to throw at us.”
“In 2016, you needed someone to balance out [the ticket] — that’s where Mike Pence made sense, sort of the yin and yang, but [given] the vicious nature of the swamp and the insanity we see on a daily basis, you need someone who can take those hits,” he continued.
Trump Jr. reveals that he’s been pushing people such as Vivek Ramaswamy, a former GOP candidate, and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson to be Trump’s running mate. Trump Jr.

Cliff Sims, a former White House aide who authored Team of Vipers: My 500 Extraordinary Days in the Trump White House, believes the First Amendment prevents Trump from enforcing a nondisclosure agreement. He's brought suit to vindicate his free speech rights, but he's stumbled upon a judge who is expressing hesitancy about ordering Trump to do anything.
"In reviewing the parties’ arguments concerning subject matter jurisdiction, the Court is most concerned about its ability to grant declaratory or injunctive relief against the President of the United States," wrote Colleen Kollar-Kotelly in an order Wednesday.

On Sunday, Senator Chris Coons was a guest on CBS News’ Face the Nation. Host Margaret Brennan asked the senator to speak to the duration of time that families and children are being held at migrant detention centers at the U.S. border. Coons directly said the administration’s strategy is purposely harsh.
“Well, my concern here is that we’ve got an administration that has intentionally used cruelty to children as a tool of immigration policy,” Coons said.
Coons then explained that the Trump administration is going out of...

If, as many legal scholars suspect, the First Amendment doesn't tolerate the hushing up of former government employees beyond restraining them from publishing classified material, by what avenue is their freedom of speech vindicated? The answer isn't a simple one.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump reacted to the sight of a former aide making the rounds on cable news.
"A low level staffer that I hardly knew named Cliff Sims wrote yet another boring book based on made up stories and fiction," he tweeted. "He pretended to be an insider when in fact he was nothing more than a gofer. He signed a non-disclosure agreement. He is a mess!"
Michael Glassner, the chief operating officer for Trump's presidential campaign, then followed up with word that a lawsuit was being prepared over Sims' alleged breach of the Nda. That ...

President Trump could have had his wall. In early 2018, Democrats offered to appropriate funding for a border wall — not just some funding, the full $25 billion — if the president would agree to provide a pathway to citizenship for immigrants living in the United States as part of President Obama’s Daca program. Trump had said previously that he supported a pathway to citizenship for “dreamers,” but ultimately rejected the deal because it didn’t also include restrictions on legal immigration.
In other words, the border wall itself wasn’t quite bigoted enough for the Trump administration,...
