Jeremy Renner has been making a name in the industry since the beginning of his career. But it wasn’t until he made his MCU debut with Thor (2011) as Hawkeye, that the actor became a household name. His character of the bow-and-arrow-wielding superhero became a fan-favorite because of his witty quips and sarcastic remarks, which is very in-tune with Renner’s own personality.

Jeremy Renner has worked hard for some iconic movies in the early 2010s but his most iconic role was that of Hawkeye in the MCU. Portraying the superhero gave Renner his fame but it also kind of pigeon-holed him into a certain character.
When notable series creator Taylor Sheridan came up with a new series titled Mayor of Kingstown, Renner was considered for the lead role. The actor, however, revealed that he didn’t even read that much of the script and immediately said yes to Sheridan!

Over the years, the character has undergone significant development, diverging from his initial portrayal in the MCU. The Avengers is one of the biggest comic book movies, which assembled several Marvel superheroes in one movie, allegedly for the first time in the history of cinema. It had an ensemble cast, and it is natural for someone to be clueless in such a big crowd. Jeremy Renner once, in an interview, revealed he felt lost while doing the Joss Whedon-helmed MCU movie. Renner made his MCU debut in 2011 in Chris Hemsworth led Thor. In the 2012 movie, Renner’s character was full-fledgedly introduced, and we also got a glimpse of Clint and Natasha’s heartwarming friendship. It continued through several films until Avengers: Endgame. Jeremy initially hated his character and did several things to get out of it.

Marvel Comics’ “Black Widow & Hawkeye” #1, available March 13, 2024 is written by Stephanie Phillips and illustrated by Paolo Villanelli, with covers by Artgerm and Stephen Segovia:
“…even when ‘Black Widow’ and ‘Hawkeye’ had no one to trust, they still had each other - even though their paths sometimes diverged. So when ‘Clint Barton’ is accused of a rogue assassination attempt that puts the US and Madripoor at odds, a symbiote-equipped ‘Natasha Romanoff’ thinks nothing of coming to his aid.
“But as echoes of their past ripple into the present, it will take all their faith in each other - and the lessons learned along the way - to protect their futures…”

Black Widow's track record in the Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn't always been flawless. The highs ("Captain America: The Winter Soldier") were certainly high, but the lows ("Avengers: Age of Ultron") were just as low. Still, the operative otherwise known as Natasha Romanoff was always the McU's secret weapon. She practically ran away with every film she appeared in, and for a large part of the franchise's initial run, she was one of the few female characters making a consistent impact. But as Johansson continued to turn in solid supporting performances, it was hard to ignore the fact that she'd yet to get a chance to stand on her own.
By the time Marvel finally delivered a solo Black Widow project, it felt like way too little, too late. "Black Widow" found itself somewhere in the middle of the franchise's 15-year output: it did its title character justice, in a way,...

One of the positives MCU has managed to carve out even amidst the dismal streak since the end of Infinity Saga, was their priority to share stories that represent people from marginalized communities. As a medium, comic-book literature has always prided itself on being the vessel that carries the experiences of different voices across the world, and through projects like Moon Knight and the Black Panther movies, MCU has managed to somewhat honor that pride. As the first MCU project of this year, Disney/Hulu’s combined venture, the miniseries Echo, centered on the amputee, specially-abled Native American heroine Maya Lopez, had the potential to add another feather to MCU’s proverbial cap and also had the necessary means at its disposal to make for a memorable entry. However, the answer to the question of whether the series was able to justify its potential is not that simple and straightforward.

Marvel will be largely laying low for 2024, with Deadpool 3 the only movie on the film release calendar. But the tv shows will still happen, starting with Echo, the first to be released under the Ma-Rated Marvel Spotlight heading.
Based on a character created by David Mack and Joe Quesada, Echo spins out of the Hawkeye television series. In that series, we meet the deaf martial arts expert Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox. In Hawkeye, Echo blames Clint Barton for the death of her father William (Zahn McClarnon), a lie told by her adoptive uncle,...

The year just started and Marvel is already looking to begin it on a strong note. Despite 2024 featuring a relatively sparse cinematic release calendar for the studio, its TV offerings are getting in on the action early with the premiere of Echo on Disney+.
Echo is a spinoff of 2021 miniseries Hawkeye and features Alaqua Cox returning as the central hero Maya Lopez a.k.a. Echo. As first seen in Marvel comics and then the aforementioned Disney+ series, Echo is a unique ass-kicker. She spent years effectively doing Kingpin’s bidding and now, per the show’s description, she is set to “return to her hometown in Oklahoma, where she must come to terms with her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community.”
Like many streaming releases of late, Echo has gone through some scheduling changes already. So let’s tell you exactly where you can watch Echo,...

Marvel’s ‘Echo’ Starring Alaqua Cox Gets A New Release Date! (Picture Credit: IMDb)
Marvel’s Echo, focusing on the life of Maya Lopez, will soon be released, but the studio has made the fans happier by bringing it a day earlier. Alaqua Cox will be seen in the leading role, and she made her first appearance in the Disney+ series Hawkeye. Marvel has been extending its branches in the Ott platform with several web series, and after Loki Season 2, the viewers’ expectations have increased.
For the unversed, Maya Lopez, the Marvel character, was created by David Mack and Joe Quesada; in the comic books, she first appeared in Daredevil #9. Maya’s story is mainly associated with Daredevil, aka Matt Murdock since she is known to be the adopted daughter of Kingpin, the archnemesis of Matt Murdock.

Black Noir isn’t the only supe making a surprise reappearance in The Boys season 4.
The first official trailer for the upcoming season reveals not only Black Noir alive and well in The Seven after his death the end of season 3, but also someone who looks a lot like Queen Maeve. We know that Maeve (Dominique McElligott) is still alive, albeit totally powerless, after fighting Soldier Boy. She used the fight to fake her death so she could escape Vought once and for all. To them and the rest of the world, Queen Maeve is dead.
So who is the lookalike in the season 4 trailer? While there hasn’t been confirmation of this new Maeve’s role, it doesn’t seem like she’s a replacement for Maeve in The Seven like Black Noir’s is. Her outfit is more bejeweled than practical (though that hasn’t stopped Vought before...

Scarlett Johansson may be donning her Black Widow costume once again… or not.
The actress stopped by the Today show on Monday to promote her skincare line, The Outset, and discuss her upcoming film, Tower of Terror, based on the Disney World ride of the same name. While she was there, Al Roker couldn’t help but ask her about the possibility of a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Those who have seen Avengers: Endgame will remember that Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow sacrifices herself in order to get the Soul Stone from Thanos and save the life of Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton/Hawkeye.
When asked about the rumors that she could return in some capacity despite her character’s death, she responded coyly, “Like a loophole? I feel like that’s kind of the end, right? Like can you come back? Could it be a vampire version of the character?...

After the box office disaster that was The Marvels, the MCU may need to liven things up again…by literally livening up again. Amid rumors that Marvel Studios is looking to bring back the Avengers team, many questioned how that could happen considering a number of members didn’t make it through the movies whether at the snap of The Blip or otherwise. One recent focus has been Scarlett Johansson, who made her most recent appearance as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow in her namesake movie. So, how could they bring her back? Johansson isn’t so sure it could make sense…
During a sitdown with Savannah Guthrie on Today, Scarlett Johansson continues to assume that Black Widow has no true chance at returning – at least in a simple manner. “I think it might be…I think it was the end, right? I don’t know how you come back from that…...

This far into the MCU, it can be hard to know and remember which projects connect to each other and how. Well, the good news about “The Marvels” is, you don’t need to know as much going in as you might for other projects.
In fact, at a base level, you only need to have seen three other MCU installments. And that’s because, though the movie is only a sequel, it brings together three characters. “The Marvels” unites Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) when their powers become entangled.
All three women have light-based powers, but don’t worry, Captain Rambeau will succinctly explain how their powers differ in the movie. We’re just here to get you prepped. So, here’s what you need to watch to understand what’s happening in “The Marvels.”

Five years removed from "Avengers: Infinity War," it's easy to forget just how traumatizing Thanos' snap was for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The most tragic aspect of wiping out half of the galaxy's population with the Infinity Gauntlet was the incomprehensible randomness of that cataclysmic event. One second your loved ones are there in the flesh, only to be a pile of dust and ash in the next. No one scene encapsulated that more than the beginning of "Avengers: Endgame," when Clint Barton/Hawkeye's (Jeremy Renner) entire family vanishes in an instant on an otherwise idyllic summer day.
In the sprawling three-hour commentary for "Endgame," directors Joe and Anthony Russo are joined by screenwriter Stephen McFeely to discuss a slew of topics, including Hawkeye's transition into a ruthless mercenary taking out nameless villains on the neon-tinged streets of Tokyo, Japan. Marvel dared to do TV differently. Now, it will have to redo “Daredevil: Born Again” from the ground up.
Head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman were removed from “Daredevil: Born Again” in late September, IndieWire confirmed, as were all of the directors previously booked to shoot the remainder of Season 1. About half of the 18-episode season is in the can, with some episodes fully shot. Ord and Corman will maintain executive producer credits; THR first reported the news of their dismissal.
Daredevil is the superhero alter ego of blind lawyer Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox); Ord and Corman envisioned the series as a legal procedural. Cox returns to the role he played on Netflix from 2015 to 2018 (the series has been on Disney+ since March 2022), but he didn’t even don the costume until the new show’s fourth episode. Now that’s dedication to a reimagining.

With the beginning of Phase 4 and the Multiverse Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021, Marvel Studios decided to expand the franchise’s canon with Disney+ streaming shows that would be directly connected with the movies, unlike all the previous shows that aired on ABC and Netflix. The first Disney+ MCU series was ‘WandaVision’, and since its premiere, we have watched eight live-action series and one animated series.
Expanding the franchise through Disney+ content allowed the studio to develop spin-offs for characters that wouldn’t happen if the franchise only stuck to the movies. Some of the spin-offs we will watch eventually are ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries,’ ‘Ironheart,’ ‘Wonder Man,’ ‘Vision Quest,’ and ‘Echo.’ Echo is a spin-off to 2021’s ‘Hawkeye’ series, in which Alaqua Cox debuted as Maya Lopez, also known as Echo.
The ‘Echo’ series is rumored to be shorter than initially announced.

Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) was always sort of a standout in the Avengers. It wasn't always in the best way. Sure, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) didn't have powers either, but he did have his Iron Man suit and a whole lot of money. The unpowered Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) had intense (and cruel) training as an assassin. Clint had ... skill with a weapon that really hit its peak usage in Europe in the 16 century. Of course, he's amazing at archery, and the trick arrows he's got are pretty darn useful. Still, it sort of left him as the least-remembered Avenger, if not forgotten completely.
I will freely admit that Hawkeye was my least favorite Avenger until I watched the 2021 Disney+ "Hawkeye" series. Now I love him, and he's my favorite, and that may be the single Marvel Cinematic Universe series that I'd rewatch. I love him, his family,...

Instead, his role as the shadowy stalwart of S.H.I.E.l.D. means we know barely anything about Nicholas J. – other than he doesn’t like his toast cut diagonally.
With the first episode of Kyle Bradstreet’s Secret Invasion killing off Cobie Smulders’ Agent Maria Hill as the only person who seemed to have any form of relationship with Nick Fury (albeit a cold one), we didn’t expect to find out much more. That all changed with a shocking reveal of Fury’s secret wife at the end of Episode 2.

In July of 2010, a truly seismic moment occurred in the history of, as they put it, “the popular arts.” Marvel’s majordomo Kevin Feige and writer-director Joss Whedon stood before the assembled 6,500 swooning, sweaty nerds to roll out the cast of “The Avengers.” Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner were surprises—if you can remember that far back, Edward Norton was still Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk, and Clint Barton/Hawkeye had yet to make his cameo appearance in “Thor.”
As each of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes took the stage, much like the announcement of the original Mercury 7 astronauts in the film “The Right Stuff,” Whedon, with tears in his eyes, said, “All my life I had a dream, and it was never this good.” The idea of collecting various properties and bringing them all together for a team-up was unheard of.
And it cemented the idea that if you gave a whit about superhero movies,...

Academy Award-nominated actress, multi-platinum recording musician and producer Hailee Steinfeld wants to produce more content.
“I just can’t wait to do something that challenges me in a way that I haven’t been challenged yet,” Steinfeld told actress Ayo Edebiri on Friday at Tribeca Festival’s Storytellers series. “I would love to produce something that I’m not in. To understand that role in its entirety on its own.”
Steinfeld’s first producing gig was Apple TV+’s Dickinson, which she also starred in. The role earned her a 2020 Peabody Award. Most recently, the actress reprised her role as Spider-Gwen in Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse. The previous installment, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, won a 2019 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
“I didn’t have the opportunity to record with any of the other actors (in the first film),” Steinfeld said. “It wasn’t until we were doing press for...

Hailee Steinfeld joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021 Disney+ series “Hawkeye”, with her character, Kate Bishop, seemingly set to replace Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton as the next iteration of uber-archer Avenger Hawkeye.
Since then, however, Kate has not returned for any subsequent Marvel projects, and hasn’t been confirmed to appear in any coming up in the future.
In the meantime, rumours circulated that Kate would be part of a “Young Avengers” project — based on Marvel’s comic book series — that would team her character with a variety of other young superheroes.

Up until now, all Marvel TV shows on Disney+ have been released weekly, but Echo will change that. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced during Disney’s Upfronts that all episodes of Echo will premiere at once on November 29th.
“In Hawkeye, fans were first introduced to Maya Lopez, a character played by Alaqua Cox,” Kevin Feige said. “She will return to get her revenge in Echo, a limited drama from an incredible team of indigenous writers, directors and cast members. And in a first for us all episodes will drop on November 29.” There were rumblings that the release of Echo, along with other MCU shows, could be pushed back to 2024, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with the Hawkeye spinoff.
Marvel also announced that Loki season 2 will premiere on October 6th, but unlike Echo, it will stick with a weekly release schedule. Owen Wilson guessed two...
