“The Talk” is losing another co-host.
Eve announced on Monday’s episode that she will depart the CBS daytime talker at the end of the year, citing a decision to spend more time with her family at their home in London rather than return to the Los Angeles studio where the show is filmed.
“It’s been a crazy year, obviously for all of us,” she said. “And I’m so grateful that I’m able to stay here in London and do the show, but I can’t see for me, the foreseeable future of traveling back at the moment, and have decided that at the end of December, this will probably be my last time on the show, in this capacity as a host.”
Eve will follow Marie Osmond out the door just a few months after Osmond announced she would not return for a second season with the show.

In 2008, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) divided the Daytime Emmy Award for talk show into two categories — entertainment and informative. The idea was to ensure that series competed against those that were similar in tone and subject matter. Yet, more than a decade later, there is some crossover. “The View,” for example, submits in the entertainment subcategory, despite featuring daily Hot Topics segments that focus on politics and news and undoubtedly end up educating some of its viewers. And “Rachael Ray,” which won in entertainment in 2008 and 2009, is now on the informative ballot.

On the Tuesday episode of CBS’ “The Talk,” co-host Sara Gilbert announced she is leaving the show after nine seasons.
“This is something I have been struggling with for a while, and going back and forth. But I’ve decided it’s time for me to leave the show,” Gilbert said at the beginning of the show.
“I obviously love it here and this was extremely difficult,” she continued. “Last season I did ‘The Conners’ and, as you know, also producing … and I loved it and felt totally empowered. But my life was slightly out of balance, and I was not spending as much time with my three kids as I would like.”
Gilbert said she decided to leave as she couldn’t “do it all,” on top of her producing and acting slate. She has been with the show since its debut in 2010, and along with Sharon Osbourne, has...

CBS has renewed daytime talk show The Talk for the 2012-13 season. The daily talker — hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler — will return for its third year in September. “We are thrilled with the evolution and growth of The Talk,” said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment. After a slew of major changes on the show in front and behind the camera last year, including the exits of co-hosts Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete, things have been quiet on the personnel front for the last several months. Nationally, the second season of The Talk is averaging 2.16 million viewers, 1.0/6 in women 25-54 and 0.8 in women 18-49. A month ago it posted its largest audience, 2.45 million viewers, for the week ending Jan. 27. In the recent February sweep, The Talk averaged 2.27 million viewers, 1.1/07 in women 25-54 and 0.9/05 in women 18-49. Vs. last February, the talk show was up 4% in viewers,...

Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete will most likely be rendered speechless soon. Remini and Robinson Peete probably won't be returning to CBS's popular daytime offering "The Talk" when it returns to the air for a second season, an individual close to the show confirmed to TheWrap. While the show has re-upped Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen and Sharon Osbourne, Remini and Robinson Peete's options have yet to be picked up -- and it's likely that they won't be, as executive producer John Redmann explores possible new directions for the series. "The Talk" returns...

Exclusive: Coming off a strong July in which it drew its largest audience (2.21 million) and women 25-54 rating (1.0/6) since February, CBS' daytime talk show The Talk is undergoing some changes. I hear that heading into Season 2, the show has picked up the options of co-host/creator Sara Gilbert and co-hosts Sharon Osbourne and Julie Chen, while the options of Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete have not been picked up. While the future of Remini and Robinson Peete is unclear, they are not expected to return when The Talk kicks off its second season Sept. 6. The show's producing team, led by John Redmann, who has been with The Talk since the beginning, is currently mapping out the show's creative direction for Season 2 before a decision is made about potentially bringing in new co-hosts. Osbourne had recently asked for some time off in the fall to be with her husband, so...

That didn't take long. Former Good Morning America executive producer Susan Winston, who took over CBS' show The Talk 2 weeks ago, has exited the daytime talk show. B&C first reported the departure, which came after Winston asked to be relieved from her duties. Winston, whose biggest post-gma credit was creating and exec producing short-lived daily daytime talk show The Other Half, succeeded executive producer Brad Bessey, who announced in March he would be leaving after the end of the show's freshman season. Maybe it was a bad omen that the transition of power happened on Friday, May 13. "Friday is going to be a blood bath at The Talk," an insider emailed us earlier that week. "Everyone on the staff is dreading this." Staying on as exec producer are Sara Gilbert, who created The Talk, and John Redmann. Gilbert co-hosts the show with Julie Chen, Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini.

Former Good Morning America executive producer Susan Winston will be taking over CBS’ daytime talk show The Talk as executive producer. She will replace Brad Bessey, who recently announced he will be leaving the talk show after the end of its freshman season but will assist with the transition. In addition to Winston, Sara Gilbert, who developed The Talk, also serves as an executive producer along with John Redmann. The Talk, the first network daytime talk show to successfully premiere in nearly 10 years, has already been renewed for next season. Hosted by Julie Chen, Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini, it has averaged an Ok 2.18 million viewers, a 1.0/6 rating in women 25-54 and 0.8/5 in women 18-49. Since 2009, Winston, has been executive producer of the AMC talk show In the House With Peter Bart and Peter Guber. Under her own banner, she created and executive produced network, cable,...

CBS is getting into the daytime talk-show business. Watch your back, "The View."
The network has picked up a daytime show for the fall that will feature the likes of Sara Gilbert (who also developed the show), "Early Show" anchor/"Big Brother" host Julie Chen and Sharon Osbourne, among others. The show will "examine topical events and contemporary issues through the eyes of mothers," the network says.
It will also serve as the replacement for the canceled soap opera "As the World Turns," which leaves the air in September after 54 years.
Along with Gilbert ("Roseanne," "The Big Bang Theory"), Chen and Osbourne, the currently untitled show will also star Leah Remini ("The King of Queens"), Holly Robinson Peete ("For Your Love") and Marissa Jaret Winokur ("Hairspray").
"We were looking for a new format that would speak to the core [daytime] audience but also have the topical and entertainment value to go even broader,...

Alex Duda has been named executive producer of syndicated talker "The Tyra Banks Show", where she will work alongside executive producer John Redmann to run the strip. Meanwhile, executive producer Kevin Applegate is exiting the freshman show at season's end. "As the show heads into its sophomore season, Alex's lifestyle and reality experience is the perfect complement to John Redmann's talk show expertise," said Hilary Estey McLoughlin, executive vp and general manager of Telepictures Prods. "Alex has a proven track record creating hit shows that resonate with young female viewers. Her sensibility is a perfect match for our show."...
David Perler and Jill Blackstone have been named executive producers for the second season of Buena Vista Television's The Tony Danza Show. Perler will oversee all celebrity and comedy segments of the talk/variety daytime strip. Blackstone will focus on human interest features and topical segments on the show, which begins its sophomore year Sept. 12. Perler and Blackstone succeed John Redmann, who helmed Danza in its first season and since has been tapped as executive producer of Telepictures Prods. upcoming daytime talker hosted by Tyra Banks.
John Redmann has been tapped as an executive producer on the upcoming syndicated talker The Tyra Banks Show. He joins host Banks, Benny Medina and Kerrie Moriarity as exec producers on the show, which is produced by Telepictures Prods. and distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. "We want to add even more strength to a big, ambitious show, especially in the celebrity arena, and John will be instrumental in booking the celebrity talent and musical acts for the show," said Hilary Estey McLoughlin, executive vp and general manager of Telepictures. Redmann most recently was the executive producer of Buena Vista Television's talker The Tony Danza Show.
Despite a vote of confidence from Buena Vista Television for a second season of The Tony Danza Show, sidekick Ereka Vetrini, executive producer John Redmann and supervising producer Shane Farley will not be returning in year two. Vetrini, whose claim to fame was competing on the first edition of NBC's The Apprentice, is certainly no stranger to being publicly axed. On February 26, 2004, she was the eighth person fired by Donald Trump on national television for failing to market a new product properly. Buena Vista, which confirmed the three departures, denies that anyone else, including the rumored Gloria Estefan, is being groomed to take over the show. According to the syndicator, "We are 100% behind Tony Danza and 'The Tony Danza Show.'" Based on data from Nielsen Media Research through June 19, Danza ranks No. 9 out of 15 syndicated talk shows with a 1.3 household rating. Clearances in season two represent over 90% of the country.
