With X-Men '97 in full swing on Disney+ and Deadpool & Wolverine fast approaching, will Marvel Studios soon pull back the curtain on WandaVision follow-up, Agatha?
That's the prevailing theory because the profile picture on WandaVision's social media accounts has just been updated with a splash of familiar purple. It doesn't give us much to go on, though we'd say there has to be some significance to this when Agatha Harkness remains trapped in Westview thanks to the Scarlet Witch!
We'd caution against getting too excited about an imminent reveal because it's previously been reported that Agatha is aiming for a September launch. Disney+ has also developed a frustrating habit of promising its MCU offerings surprisingly close to their respective premieres.
Despite it feeling like we've been waiting a long time for the series, things appear to be going well for a spin-off which has previously been dubbed "Agnes of Westview,...

Donald Trump has dismissed recent media reports that say he fell asleep in his ongoing trial about the hush money payments in New York. Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, in a recess in the Manhattan Supreme Court trial to address the claims.
“Contrary to the Fake News Media, I don’t fall asleep during the Crooked D.A.’s Witch Hunt, especially not today,” he wrote.
He continued, “I simply close my beautiful blue eyes, sometimes, listen intensely, and take it All in!!!”
After the post, online critics rushed to social media to mock his praise of his eye color.
Earlier, Trump’s campaign had vehemently criticized multiple reporters, such as Maggie Haberman from The New York Times, who observed Trump seemingly doze off on the first day of jury selection. Throughout the trial, which entered its tenth day on Thursday, there have been several instances...

Director Robert Eggers (The Lighthouse & The Northman) made a name for himself with The Witch, a film that most directors would be proud to have on their résumé, especially as their first feature-length production.
In the same vein, as artists in any discipline are often especially critical of their earlier work, Eggers also admitted that he did not want to watch this 2015 horror movie. The Witch, the full-length feature debut of the New York City-born director, turned out to be one of his incredible works. The story revolved around a family of New England Puritans in the 1630s.

After receiving positive reviews from critics and grossing $40 million, the film went on to become a critical and commercial success. Nonetheless, Eggers is the one who is unable to stand the movie, which starred Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, and Kate Dickie.

Total Film Magazine wants you to witness the badassery of Anya Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa for George Miller’s upcoming prequel with new covers for the entertainment publication. On the first Furiosa magazine cover, Taylor-Joy’s road warrior sports the latest in Wasteland fashion: tire tread armor, worn leather straps, and black grease paint covering the top half of her shaven skull. For the alternate cover, Furiosa evokes an unholy Wasteland clergy look with a red cloak, bandaged chest, fire-roasted pants, and a mechanical arm to help crush War Boys’ balls into dust.
Directed by Miller from a screenplay he wrote with Nico Lathouris, Furiosa has the following synopsis: As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by the Immortan Joe.

Robert Eggers’ upcoming remake of F.W. Murnau’s silent classic Nosferatu is one of the more highly anticipated horror movies of the year, and the lucky folks at CinemaCon got a look at an exclusive first look at the chilling production.
The first look at Nosferatu was suitably terrifying with a heavy gothic tone. Classic-looking tall, dark castles, scurrying rats, blood gushing from necks, and full-on bleak horror. The footage included looks at Lily-Rose Depp (The Idol) and Willem Dafoe (Poor Things) but sadly only featured quick glimpses of Count Orlock himself. Perhaps that’s for the best, but I can’t wait to see Bill Skarsgard (Boy Kills World) disappear into the character.
Nosferatu tells a “gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.” Lily-Rose Depp stars as the young woman...

Universal’s upcoming adaptation of the Broadway musical “Wicked” showcased some additional footage at this year’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas, bringing down the house with a first look at Cynthia Erivo donning the iconic hat of the Wicked Witch.
Erivo joined director Jon M. Chu and the film’s cast, including costar Ariana Grande, at the event.
“I never could have fathomed that I would have the opportunity to play the Wicked Witch,” Erivo said. “We have performed this song publicly and privately for many years, and now here we are together, getting the chance to perform these songs for an audience around the world.”
The sneak peek showed sweeping shots of the colorful world of Oz, along with Elphaba and Glinda’s turbulent first days together at Shiz University, where they are training to be witches. Elphaba develops far faster than Glinda, showing incredible potential and gaining the attention of Madame Morrible,...

Developer The Astronauts have announced a new Early Access update for their dark fantasy shooter Witchfire in the Ghost Galleon Update. In addition to quality-of-life features, the update introduces “soul-style classes”, vault raids, weapons, and new Calamities.
Alongside the new features in the update, The Astronauts team has implemented careful redesigns of Witchfire‘s level progression and Calamity systems, based on Early Access feedback. Players will begin the game with souls-style classes, granting boosts to certain stats and unique gear. Those classes include Slayer, Berserker, Hunter, Shadow, Saint and Penitent, with Penitent giving Witchfire veterans an extra challenge.
A new feature, called Gnosis, will allow players to “over-level” (slightly) without a corresponding uptick in enemy difficulty. Gnosis is the understanding of dark magic. As this occult knowledge expands, players gain power and uncover hidden paths and events in the game. The update also adds a Calamity Meter on the Hud,...

One of the most interesting upcoming MCU projects is certainly ‘Marvel Zombies.’ Not much is known regarding the plot of the series except for the fact that it won’t be a direct adaptation of the famous comic storyline, but we can assume that it’s going to have plenty of gore and action sequences.
‘Marvel Zombies’ is the first spinoff of the ‘What If…?’ animated TV Show and it continues the universe established in the episode titled ‘What If… Zombies!?’
According to popular leaker and scooper CanWeGetSomeToast fans can expect Scarlet Witch not only to make an appearance in the show but to serve as the main villain as well. Zombie Scarlet Witch was already featured in the finale of ‘What If..?’ Season 2 when she was one of the enemies that Captain Carter and Kahhori needed to defeat in order to get to demonic Doctor Strange. This article contains mild plot spoilers for George Miller’s Furiosa!
Director George Miller is continuing the Mad Max franchise with the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which is set to reach theatres on May 24th – and with that date just over a month away, the film got some promotion during the Warner Bros. presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and George Miller took the stage during the Warner Bros. panel. Miller told the eager CinemaCon crowd that Furiosa takes place over 18 years, whereas Fury Road’s story lasted three days. Miller then quipped that if the apocalypse actually happened, Anya would be the one he’d want to hang out with as she has the rigor and commitment.
Speaking about Hemsworth, Miller said he couldn’t think of anyone to play Dementus, and he’d had the script for a long time.

It’s been almost exactly one year since Columbia Pictures / Screen Gems brought The Pope’s Exorcist (read our review Here), a supernatural thriller starring Russell Crowe, to theatres. Just two weeks after the film was released, our friends at Bloody Disgusting heard that a sequel was in development… but everything has been quiet since then. During a recent interview with The Six O’Clock Show, Crowe confirmed that a sequel is in development – and that The Pope’s Exorcist was actually meant to be chapter one in a trilogy!
As it turns out, things have been quiet on the Pope’s Exorcist front because there was a behind-the-scenes shake-up with the studio executives, but it sounds like Crowe still has hopes that the trilogy is going to happen. He told The Six O’Clock Show (with thanks to MovieWeb for the transcription), “(A sequel) is in discussion at the moment. The...

Donald Trump claimed that he was merely doing his “duty” as president by alleging that the 2020 election was “rigged” and “stolen,” therefore believes he deserves “immunity” from prosecution.
“I wasn’t campaigning, the Election was over. I was doing my duty as President to expose and further investigate a Rigged and Stolen Election. It was my obligation to do so, and the proof found is voluminous and irrefutable,” the former president wrote in a Truth Social post Sunday morning. “Therefore, among other reasons, of course I am entitled to Immunity.

Twenty-three years ago, Willem Dafoe played actor Max Schreck in the film Shadow of the Vampire, which gave a behind-the-scenes look at the making of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here) to reveal that Schreck really was a vampire. Now Dafoe has a role in The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman writer/director Robert Eggers‘ remake of Nosferatu – but he’s not playing the title role. Instead, he’s playing a “crazy vampire hunter” named Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, and Entertainment Weekly has just unveiled an interesting image that shows Dafoe in character! You can check it out at the bottom of this article.
An unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the original Nosferatu has the following synopsis: In this highly influential silent horror film, the mysterious Count Orlok (Max Schreck) summons Thomas Hutter (Gustav von Wangenheim) to his remote Transylvanian castle in the mountains.

Willem Dafoe is no stranger to the world of Nosferatu, as he famously played original Nosferatu actor Max Schreck in the 2000 movie Shadow of the Vampire. Dafoe returns to that arena in the upcoming Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse, The Northman) remake of Nosferatu, only this time around he’s playing a human who’s hunting the vampire.
Entertainment Weekly has shared a new image from Nosferatu this morning, giving us our first look at Willem Dafoe’s character in the film, Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz.
Eggers describes the character as “a crazy vampire hunter.”
Focus Features will release Nosferatu in theaters for Christmas on December 25, 2024.
Willem Dafoe, Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Emma Corrin and Lily-Rose Depp will star in Nosferatu, with Skarsgard playing Nosferatu/Count Orlok in the film.

It's been said many times this holiday season: Hallmark is knocking it out of the park with thoughtful stories full of heart. One such story brings Good Witch's Catherine Bell back into the fold.
Christmas on Cherry Lane features a sprawling cast of actors we continually welcome into our homes, and we get to peer inside of characters' homes on Cherry Lane.
Bell is also reunited with the Good Witch costar, James Denton, which gives the new story a familiar feel, like wrapping us in a warm, welcoming hug.
Bell took some time to share her thoughts on returning to Hallmark with her costar at her side, and the significance of friends, family, and our greater community in our lives.
I have to tell you, I still miss Good Witch, so to welcome you back with James Denton at your side is such a wonderful Christmas gift.
Thank you.

Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse, The Northman) is back next year with a remake of the horror classic Nosferatu, and Total Film has shared a brand new image this week.
This latest shot gives us another look at Nicholas Hoult’s character in the movie, while again teasing the appearance of Bill Skarsgård as classic horror icon Count Orlok.
Eggers tells Total Film in their 2024 Preview issue, “Bill lost a tremendous amount of weight. He’s so transformed in every aspect that I don’t know if people will give him the credit. You can’t detect any Bill here. He worked with an opera coach to lower his voice an octave. I think people are going to think we treated it digitally, but that’s his performance.”

The latest print edition of Empire included another image from Nosferatu, one that features Nicholas Hoult (Renfield) and gives another hint of Orlok. That image can now be seen at the bottom of this article, thanks to the folks at Collider.

After following her Oscar-winning directorial debut “Promising Young Woman” with the star-studded comedy of manners “Saltburn,” it’s safe to say that Emerald Fennell’s filmmaking career is off to a good start. And if the British hyphenate gets her way, her resume might soon include an entry in cinema’s most beloved prehistoric franchise.
In a new interview with Deadline, Fennell was asked about her dream projects as a filmmaker and actress. While she acknowledged that she has not suffered from a lack of creative freedom in her directing career, Fennell said that she dreams of putting her own subversive spin on a “Jurassic Park” movie.
“I honestly feel that I’ve been so lucky. I’ve been able to make my dream projects already,” Fennell said. “But my favorite film of all time is ‘Jurassic Park,’ so I would love to get in on the dinosaurs. Well, first and foremost,...

Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse, The Northman) is back next year with a remake of the horror classic Nosferatu, and a new image has surfaced this week.
Like the previous image of Lily-Rose Depp in the film, this next one comes courtesy of Empire Magazine’s 2024 Preview. And it gives us a first look at Nicholas Hoult’s character.
Look closely (above) and you’ll also see a glimpse of Bill Skarsgård‘s Count Orlok…
Eggers tells Empire in their 2024 Preview, “It’s a scary film. It’s a horror movie. It’s a Gothic horror movie. And I do think that there hasn’t been an old-school Gothic movie that’s actually scary in a while. And I think that the majority of audiences will find this one to be the case.”
Willem Dafoe and Emma Corrin also star alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kraven the Hunter), Simon McBurney (The Conjuring 2...

A familiar face is back in the Riverdale universe on Riverdale Season 7 Episode 17.
Josie McCoy, leader of Josie and The Pussycats, unveiled her 1955 counterpart in true Hollywood fashion. In this case, she's an award-winning Hollywood and Broadway star.
Her arrival to town was filled with big screens and big stage performances. But was the episode a grand return to form?
"Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Four: A Different Kind of Cat" was an enjoyable chapter that hit Riverdale 1955's campy flair. However, not much has changed in the trend of Riverdale Season 7.
Plenty of flash and fun references for the time, but there was no concrete or consistent plot tying everything together.
For instance, Josie's arrival in Riverdale for her movie project. It's another standalone story that breaks up any potential for an overarching plot.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see Ashleigh Murray, who plays Josie, return and get her screen time.

Wicked director Jon M. Chu has some encouraging news for Wicked fans. According to the celebrated filmmaker, the first part of the fantasy classic’s film adaptation will release on time despite the ongoing Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strike. Commenting about the film’s status on Twitter, Chu said Wicked: Part One production was days away from completion before the strike halted activity. Chu is confident the movie will resume as soon as better working conditions for writers and actors in the film industry take shape. Wicked: Part One isn’t flying into cinemas until late 2024, giving the team ample time to finish the highly-anticipated project.
“Not done yet,” Chu tweeted. “Just paused until the strike is over and we can finish the last pieces of the movie. We were only a few days away from being done so we were So close. It’s been...

Carnifex have returned with the title track for their newly announced album Necromanteum, arriving October 6th.
As one of the chief proliferators of deathcore, Carnifex are able use their medium as a storytelling format — not unlike Iron Maiden (though Carnifex are much more extreme sonically). Such is the case for “Necromanteum,” a Poe-esque tale of the macabre. The eerie video directed by Jim Louvau and Tony Aguilera only adds to the sense of foreboding with its Poltergeist and Blair Witch callbacks.
Reads the band’s premise for the track: “Decades ago, wealthy intellectuals began installing psychomanteum in their homes; a secret room completely filled with mirrors, or a single mirror, and in complete darkness, in order to speak to the dead in other dimensions, and gain their knowledge … what if you could use that kind of room to speak with death, itself?”

Eight years have passed since we first heard that The Witch writer/director Robert Eggers was going to be taking the helm of a remake of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here), but filming didn’t begin until earlier this year. During a recent interview with Empire magazine, Eggers said that it was a good thing that he wasn’t able to make Nosferatu earlier, because even after making The Lighthouse and The Northman, this movie still pushed him “beyond his capabilities”. Which is exactly what he was going for.
Eggers said, “I’m trying to go beyond what I’m capable of. As always, it was a difficult shoot. Last night we were doing a scene on a ship with a lot of rain and waves, and the rain deflector, which tries to blow rain out of the lens, was breaking down and fogging. I spent...

After various false starts over the years, it looks like the Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse, The Northman) remake of horror classic Nosferatu is finally on the way. In fact, Prague Reporter lets us know this week that filming recently wrapped on the new movie.
According to the site, Nosferatu “quietly wrapped filming in Prague on May 19 after a three month shoot.” Prague Reporter also notes, “Cinematographer Jarin Blaschke confirmed that the film had been shot in color, with a look reminiscent of 19th century Romanticism.”
Nosferatu has been a passion project for Eggers for many years, the project first announced way back in 2016. Both Anya Taylor-Joy and Harry Styles had at one point been attached to the project, which had fallen apart on at least two occasions. In fact, it was just last year that Eggers was convinced the ghost of F.W. Murnau was preventing him from making the film!

Fans of Halle Bailey have more fuel for the “Little Mermaid” hype machine as Disney offered a sneak peek of the upcoming live-action/CGI remake’s rendition of the song “Kiss the Girl” during the MTV Movie and TV Awards.
As in the famous 1989 animated film, Ariel, played by Bailey, has only a few days to win the heart of Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) while in the form of a voiceless human. If successful, she can stay human and live with the prince in his world. If not, her soul belongs to the Sea Witch, Ursula (Melissa McCarthy).
The minute-long clip, which can be seen in the tweet below, plays much like its animated counterpart, with the crab Sebastian (Daveed Diggs) serenading the couple and urging Eric to “kiss the girl” while Flounder (Jacob Tremblay) leads fish in putting on a magical show in the glowing waters. Much of the focus on Disney’s promotion of their upcoming “Little Mermaid” remake is based around Halle Bailey’s take on Ariel. But the studio’s CinemaCon presentation of the film was dedicated to Ursula, as Melissa McCarthy stopped by in Las Vegas to unveil her performance as the dreaded Sea Witch.
“Ursula is just kind of everything. She’s dishy, she’s a conniving broad. Maybe that’s why I can relate,” McCarthy joked.
And what better way to introduce McCarthy’s Ursula than to show off her famous villain song? The remake shows off McCarthy swimming among shadows and blazing hot vents as she belts out “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” Ursula’s anthem of temptation to trick Ariel into a deal to give up her mermaid body and her voice to become a human for three days and win the heart of Prince Eric.

Made on a budget of $18 million, the supernatural thriller The Pope’s Exorcist (read our review Here), which stars Russell Crowe as real-life exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth, has racked up over $52 million at the global box office since its release earlier this month. Columbia Pictures / Screen Gems must be very satisfied with how well the movie is doing, because our friends at Bloody Disgusting have been informed that a sequel to The Pope’s Exorcist is now in early development!
Details on the sequel aren’t available yet, but it looks like Crowe is going to have a rematch with the forces of evil.

Academy Award winner Russell Crowe plays real-life exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth in The Pope’s Exorcist, the brand new horror movie from director Julius Avery (Overlord). The Screen Gems horror movie has thus far scared up $52 million worldwide, and Bloody Disgusting can exclusively report that a sequel to The Pope’s Exorcist is now in early development.
Bloody Disgusting’s sources indicate that development is underway on The Pope’s Exorcist 2, but we don’t have any further details at this time. We do expect Crowe to return.
Stay tuned for more as we learn it.
The smart thing about The Pope’s Exorcist is that the production budget was quite low, reportedly just $18 million. This set the horror movie up for success, allowing it to become profitable in theaters after just one week of release. The same can’t be said about Universal’s Renfield, which reportedly cost $65 million and has thus far made just $17.9 million.

“What’s exciting for me is being able to appreciate what’s come before me, but also not letting that cloud me in any way,” explains Patina Miller when discussing her portrayal of The Witch in this season’s revival of “Into the Woods.” The part has been embodied by a plethora of celebrated Broadway actresses, but that doesn’t intimidate Miller. The Tony-winning actress describes drawing on her “own personal experience…for a new interpretation” of this iconic role. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
Motherhood is a core component of The Witch’s character and as a new mother herself, was the number one way in which Miller was able to pour herself into the role. “At the end of the day, The Witch is just this woman who loves her daughter so much and will do anything to protect her,” notes the actress. “When you’re younger,...

Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse, The Northman) is directing a remake of the horror classic Nosferatu, and Deadline reports today that Emma Corrin (“The Crown”) will star.
“Corrin’s role has not been disclosed,” Deadline notes.
Willem Dafoe, Bill Skarsgard, Nicholas Hoult and Lily-Rose Depp will also star, with Robert Eggers planning to make Nosferatu as his next movie for Focus Features.
Bill Skarsgard will reportedly be playing Nosferatu/Count Orlok in the film.
Deadline’s report indicates, “In the new reimagining, the pic is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.”
Eggers is directing and he also wrote the script.
F.W. Murnau directed the original 1922 version of Nosferatu, while fellow German filmmaker Werner Herzog notably directed his own version of the classic tale back in 1979.
