"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is a beloved show with millions of adoring fans, but you don't get to be one of the most boundary-pushing comedies on air without ruffling a few feathers. Although the gang is larger than life, many of the characters draw inspiration from real people, particularly in their names. A few of the main and recurring characters in the show are named after real-life people like celebrities, close friends of the series creators, or the actors that portray them. Unfortunately, not everyone was flattered by their namesake.
The proprietors of Paddy's Pub are pretty darn despicable, but some of the show's minor characters are even less likable. The McPoyles are among some of the most repulsive characters in the show, and their sweaty, unibrowed, incestuous family often finds itself at odds with the gang. The family name, which evokes unpleasant words like "boil" and "spoil," was...

One of the best things about "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is that with 15 seasons under their belt and a sixteenth on the way, they have a treasure trove of characters and throwbacks to reference and bring back for more hilarity. Sadly we'll never see some of their best guest-stars again (Country Mac, we hardly knew ye), but the season 16 trailer hints at a whole lot of great comebacks and some fun new guest stars.
We already knew that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul of "Breaking Bad" were going to appear in the season thanks to a tweet from creator Rob McElhenney, but now we get to see a bit more about what they're doing, and in the process see that they're bringing back Charlie (Charlie Day) as a limo driver, a callback to the season 7 episode "Frank's Pretty Woman." In fact, there are a load of references to past seasons in the trailer,...

It takes a village to last 14 seasons and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has a town full of wonderful, recurring weirdos.
You don’t get to 14 seasons without a strong core of a cast. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has that in place with Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito. Still, one of the underappreciated aspects of the show’s success is the large cast of recurring weirdos that also populate Dennis, Mac, Charlie, Dee, and Frank’s world.

A horror comedy that parodied everything from The X-Files to Godzilla movies, Stan Against Evil will not be returning for a fourth season on IFC, as the show's creator, Dana Gould, has confirmed that the series has been cancelled.
On the recent episode of his podcast The Dana Gould Hour (via Bloody Disgusting), Gould made the following statement regarding the current status of Stan Against Evil:
“Stan Against Evil, I am sad to report, will not be returning for a fourth season. It had a great run of three seasons. It’s not coming back. Will it show up in some other form on some other network someday? Maybe. But right now, as we like to say, it’s dead as Kelsey’s nuts.”

Despite the antennae sticking out of his head and the black pools where his eyes used to be, you can still tell that the man who enters the room on this hot June afternoon just outside of Atlanta is the one and only David Koechner. Taking a seat next to Stan Against Evil showrunner Dana Gould and the rest of the show’s core cast, Koechner surveys the group of journalists assembled before him, while just outside the crew is getting ready to film what will be one of the most ambitious scenes to date in the IFC series.
“You can dream as much as you want all your life about what it might be like to be an actor,” Koechner says. “And then you have a couple of days or a week where you get to come and be covered in cobwebs or silk, and the next day you’re a caterpillar.

Friday's Comic-Con schedule is packed with panels and events for horror fans, but Saturday's schedule is looking good as well with panels for TV shows like Stan Against Evil and The Purge. As for me, the highlight is going to be the Warner Brothers Theatrical panel, where we're expecting to get the first look at Michael Dougherty's Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

And watch as they talk about the monsters that never die in their own novels.

"Office Space... there's a comedy. They ought to call it Bobspace. It's all about the Bobs." If you watched the first season of Stan Against Evil (which I highly recommend), then you know that Stan (played by John C. McGinley) would rather just sit back in his chair and enjoy his retirement instead of getting blood sprayed on him all the time while slaying demons and saving the world. Well, in a new promo video released by IFC, McGinley gets to do just that, although what he ends up watching is himself as one of the Bobs in the cult classic comedy Office Space.

This review is based on the first episode, which was made available to us prior to broadcast.
One of the more notable trends in recent television has been putting powerful women on the frontlines of the war against terror. From Showtime’s Homeland to CBS’ Madam Secretary and NBC’s State of Affairs, network execs seem caught up on a certain character type: a tough-as-nails, proudly female protagonist who’s strong-willed enough to go it alone whenever she’s as obstructed by people on her own team as the ones she’s fighting against. NBC’s American Odyssey isn’t exactly revolutionary in that aspect – and it owes a lot more than just its hero’s characterization to Homeland – but by casting Anna Friel in the lead role of a betrayed soldier finding her way home, it does set itself apart.

Much as the horror genre is deeply rooted in the evolving culture that creates it, NBC‘s latest “action-drama,” American Odyssey, builds itself from the conspiracy fears that are now equally laughed off and assumed to be obviously true.
Sgt. Odelle Ballard (Anna Friel, “Pushing Daisies”) is part of a group that stumbles upon an Al Qaeda’s top commander, but she quickly discovers intel that suggests an American corporation is funding the group. A private military company comes to clean up, and Odelle’s company is killed to cover things up. She escapes, but now she’s on the run, and a long way from home, and doesn’t have anyone she can trust.
Meanwhile, back at home, former U.S. Attorney Peter Decker (Peter Facinelli) is in the middle of a merger with the same company that apparently funded the jihadists, and he starts to put the pieces...
