Jaanisaar
Starring Imran Abbas, Pernia Quereshi
Directed by Muzaffar Ali
It’s the nature of the feast… and I do mean, feast. Sumptuously spread out into two hours of drama about love, courtship, separation, conflict, deception and damnation during the year 1877 (why 1877, you may well ask), 20 years after India patriots first woke up to the need for freedom.
Jaanisaar is the kind of visual spectacle that could transport you into another century, provided you are only looking at the lights, costumes and adaas. There is an old world elegance to how Imran Abbas’ eyes light up whenever he encounters the beautiful poetic Pernia Qureshi… Or, so it must have seemed to the very romantic and wise Muzaffar Ali, who in all romantic wisdom, also agreed to cast himself in a pivotal role. In this way he not only saves money, he also gets to...

Consequently, the country went as far as banning it.

This week Deepika Padukone's character will perform an elaborate Kathak dance number in front of Ranveer Singh's character for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, although Ranveer is Missing In Action.
The song to be shot over the next week would stretch into a good 7 minutes of non-stop dancing by the indefatigable Deepika Padukone.
Says a source close to Sanjay Leela Bhansali productions, "The last time Deepika danced for Mr. Bhansali, she created magic in the garba dance number 'Nagara sang dhol'. This time the duo will be going even further in the pursuit of elegant dancing. The only difference is Deepika's co-star Ranveer Singh would be missing."
It is believed that love blossomed between the couple during the shooting of the 'Nagara' song in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela.

We’ve already seen the spicy trailer for Dedh Ishqiya and can see the explosive chemistry between the dynamic actors, but Madhuri Dixit too, confessed, “I found his (Naseeruddin Shah) eyes very intense. Whenever I did intense scenes with him, I used to get very shy. This is the first time I found myself in such a situation.”
She went on to say, “When you are with him, you don’t have to act, you just have to react. He is such a natural actor.”
The last time we saw Madhuri on screen was for the song ‘Ghagra’ in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani but it was back in 2007 when we last saw her in a fully fledged lead role in Aaja Nachle.
The Abhishek Chaubhey directed Dedh Ishqiya stars Madhuri, Naseerudin Shah, Arshad Warsi and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles. In Ishqiya, we saw the powerful Vidya Balan as the lead female.

Ar Rahman, criticised for his Commonwealth Games theme song, now has another supporter. Well-known Indian classical dance personalities (including Pandit Birju Maharaj, Saroj Vaidhyanathan, Raja Reddy, Sonal Mansingh, Guru Singhajit and Bharati Shivaji) who were to perform on his tune, refused to do so. In Rahman’s support, Shekhar tweeted, “It’s impossible to compose a song for a government committee, don’t blame Rahman till you give him the creative freedom.” He added, “Jai Ho was rejected by none other than Subhash Ghai and many others before it became the biggest international hit of last year.” ...

Life has come a full circle for Sanjay Leela Bhansali. 16 years after he started his career in cinema directing the songs for Vidhu Vinod Chopra.s 1942: A Love Story, he has once again choreographed an entire song in his forthcoming Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya Bachchan starrer Guzaarish. While he did provide inputs through a vital step here and a pirouette there in his various films, Bhansali has never fully choreographed a number in any of his earlier films, which had pivotal dance scenes.Incidentally, Bhansali has also turned into a full-fledged music composer for Guzaarish. While he became a music composer by design, choreography happened by accident.A source close to the director says, .It happened last week while he was shooting a dance sequence with Aishwarya. Sanjay wanted her to do an impromptu and spontaneous dance. Sanjay wanted it to look as if Aishwarya was not dancing for the camera.
