Although Bradley Cooper is taking on more serious roles as of late, the Maestro star is not opposed to revisiting his past role as Phil in The Hangover franchise.
The actor opened up about reprising his role in the Tod Phillips comedy that he starred in 2009 alongside Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Heather Graham, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong and Jeffrey Tambor.
“I would probably do Hangover 4 in an instant,” Cooper said during an appearance on The New Yorker Radio Hour. “Just because I love Todd, I love Zach, I love Ed so much, I probably would.”
Despite Cooper not objecting to returning to The Hangover, he doesn’t think the director would be down for another sequel.
“I don’t think Todd is ever going to do that,” Cooper added.

Ignorance is bliss, especially for the credulous ones like Captain Jonathan Fall, who tend to miss out on social cues big time. Captain Fall is the latest addition to Netflix’s gallery of original adult-oriented animated series, which, for a surprising change, is really well done, humorous, and will surely take the viewers on a voyage filled with crime scenes, sex, violence, and ignorant stupidity. The creators of the series, Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen, the same creative duo behind the brilliant period comedy series Norsemen, have used their firm grip on deadpan and situational humor in their debut cartoon gig to full effect. The result is a very topical, unapologetically wild series that uses the advantages of the animated medium in the best ways to showcase the fortunes and misfortunes that befall the eponymous character.

There are comedy acts, and then there’s Zach Galifianakis. The actor and comedian is popularly known for his role in The Hangover trilogy movies, where he played the character Alan Garner. The new “Game of Thrones” prequel “House of the Dragon” has run fast through the events of its “Fire & Blood” source material, with the first season covering a span of 20 years in eight episodes. In a Monday post on his blog “Random Musings,” original series author George R.R. Martin revealed that he hopes the series will continue on this pace to cover the entire Targaryen civil war (or the Dance of Dragons) over four seasons.
“There are only so many minutes in an episode (more on HBO than on the network shows I once wrote for), and only so many episodes in a season … If ‘House of the Dragon’ had 13 episodes per season, maybe we could have shown all the things we had to ‘time jump’ over… though that would have risked having some viewers complain that the show was too ‘slow,’ that ‘nothing happened.’ As it is, I am...

I've got a teaser trailer here for you to watch for a dark fairytale horror thriller called Corvidae. I normally don't post trailers for short films, but this one actually looks interesting and it stars Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams. Here's the synopsis:

How would you program this year's newest, most interesting films into double features with movies of the past you saw in 2015?Looking back over the year at what films moved and impressed us, it is clear that watching old films is a crucial part of making new films meaningful. Thus, the annual tradition of our end of year poll, which calls upon our writers to pick both a new and an old film: they were challenged to choose a new film they saw in 2015—in theatres or at a festival—and creatively pair it with an old film they also saw in 2015 to create a unique double feature. All the contributors were given the option to write some text explaining their 2015 fantasy double feature. What's more, each writer was given the option to list more pairings, with or without explanation, as further imaginative film programming we'd be lucky to catch...

I am a bad SFnal blogger, since these nominees were announced a good two weeks ago. (Perhaps I delayed because I believe, based on my own Wfa judge experience, that the winners in all categories have already been determined, and so most of the nominees are doomed to forlorn hopes.)
Anyway, congratulations to all of the nominees, and good luck to them. I leave the annual exercise of determining which two entries in each category were voted on by the convention membership and which were picked by the judges to fandom assembled.

There's been a long line of distinguished, accomplished men named "Zechariah" (Zac, Zach or Zack, for short) throughout the course of American history: 12th U.S. President Zachary Taylor, Most Popular Student at Bayside High Zack Morris, um…

Spring 2013 release will mark final outing for maverick bachelor quartet – and perhaps also a radical shift of emphasis
The director of The Hangover series has promised filmgoers the third instalment will definitely be the last. Todd Phillips also revealed the new film will be released in May 2013 and will feature all four original cast members.
"We're going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned," Phillips said. "It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions."
The first Hangover film was the sleeper hit of 2009 and went on to become the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all time in the Us. Its 2011 sequel, The Hangover Part II, shifted the stag-do antics of bachelor quartet Phil Wenneck, Stu Price, Alan Garner and Doug Billings from Las Vegas to Bangkok and once again broke box-office records. This year's Edinburgh International Film Festival introduced the idea of celebrity guest curators, each programming three or four films they wanted to show to an audience. A nice idea, but in practice it added to the festival's rather scattershot feeling, with a multitude of strands in which the films often seemed secondary to some amorphous concept. However, Alan Garner's selection of Skolimowskis had its own integrity, and Béla Tarr's choices (the only ones introduced personally) included the impressive Passion (Szenvedely, 1998), important not only as a virtual mirror-image reflection the Hungarian auteur's style, but as a powerfully atmospheric vision in its own right.
Does cinema history need another version of James M. Cain's The Postman Always Rings Twice? Regardless of the answer, it has one, and the others must move over, because György Fehér's Passion has more grit and glower than any other adapatation. Deliberately styling everything...

The Rapture of Unreason
“I grew up around Christians who believed in a seven day creation, preached the reality of Hell and Judgement, and railed against the lie that was evolution. They were also, for the most part, racists and homophobes… And the only difference between them and me was that I had a father who shoved a science fiction paperback into my pre-teen hands and ordered me to read it. After all, it’s pretty hard to be prejudiced against blacks and gays when you’re a-okay with Klingons and the Green Men of Mars.”
– Lou Anders, Bowing to the Future
So the 21st of May came and went without a whiff of the Rapture, nary a hint of Moby Douche, the Great White Fail, breaching the firmament above. No star called Wormwood fallen from the sky, turning a third of the waters to tasty absinthe. No angels treading...

Zach Galifianakis has claimed he dislikes the fact that his career has brought him worldwide recognition. The comedic actor, who rose to fame for his role as Alan Garner in the 2009 film The Hangover, admitted that he tries to stay out of Hollywood as much as possible. "I think a lot of comedic actors get lost in this world of Hollywood and all this stuff," Galifianakis told Coming Soon. "They lose what brought them there in the first place. "You get swallowed up in it. I keep my distance as much as I can." The actor explained that he also dislikes having to promote his films but has to accept it as part of his job. "Privacy (more)...

With just days to go before the much-anticipated release of The Hangover Part II , ComingSoon.net is bringing you a week of exclusive interviews with the cast and crew. If you missed yesterday's, please check out our first conversation with writer/director Todd Phillips by clicking here . Though he's been a comic for more than a decade, Zach Galifianakis became a household name with the role of Alan Garner in the first The Hangover . Reprising the part for the sequel, Zach re-teams with Bradley Cooper's Phil and Ed Helms' Stu as the action moves from Las Vegas to Bangkok. ComingSoon.net sat down with the actor to talk about maintaining Alan's childlike persona for a second film, the sometimes-subtleties of comic delivery and how he's been dealing with increasing Hollywood...

Because of his unique brand of hilariously discomfiting stand-up comedy and, in particular, his mock-confrontational talk show satire Between Two Ferns, which lampoons the celebrity interview itself with clear-eyed vitriol, you might not peg Zach Galifianakis for a warm interviewee. But, like most comics, he's nothing like any of his own characters -- including Alan Garner, the delusional man-child who, along with his fellow "Wolf Pack"-ers (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and, this time around, a monkey) wakes up in a seedy Bangkok hotel room after yet another night of black-out debauchery in The Hangover Part II.

The boys are back in town, and they're ready to party. Or, at least the monkey is.
Six new character posters for "The Hangover: Part II" have hit the web, and we're glad that Warner Bros. is finally taking a second look at our favorite people in the flick beyond just the wolf pack. That means Doug, Mr. Chow and, yes, our unnamed little simian, all have their own posters for us to drool over.
Head past the jump to check out our breakdown of the new posters!
Bradley Cooper as Phil Wenneck
Phil looks a bit more clueless than usual in this poster, but that confusion might stem directly from his surroundings. After all, he's a bit sweaty and did unexpectedly find himself in Thailand's capital. Those sunglasses don't look like they'd be able to stop all those bright lights from giving him one killer hangover headache.

Could rotund funnyman Zach Galifianakis be playing it straight (and dead) in the near future? The actor is eyeing up a role alongside this summer’s superhero Green Lantern, Ryan Reynolds, in crime drama fantasy R.I.P.D.
Based on a popular Dark Horse comic, Rest In Peace Department is tale of dead police officers who keep watch over the underworld. Think Beetlejuice (without the laughs) meets Lethal Weapon.
German director Robert Schwentke (coming off the hit ensemble actioner Red) is onboard to direct and Galifianakis, if cast, would play a dead police officer who gets mixed up with a revenge plot exacted by a recently murdered policeman (Reynolds).
It would be nice to see Galifianakis tackle something a little different. He’ll next be seen on the big screen revisiting the role that launched him into the limelight – he’s back playing big-hearted weirdo Alan Garner role in The Hangover 2.

They lost Doug, again? Two new images have been released of scenes from the upcoming “Hangover 2.” The characters Phil Wenneck, Alan Garner and Stu Price are all present. And once again, Doug Billings (the groom from Hangover) is missing from these photos. The official synopsis is: “Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug travel to exotic Thailand for Stu’s wedding. After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe subdued pre-wedding bunch. However, things don’t always go as planned. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can’t even be imagined.” The film stars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha and Ken Jeong. It is directed by Todd Phillips. The film will be in theaters on May 26 this year. Check out the images below. Source: Warner Bros.

8. Todd Phillips and Zach Galifianakis If I'm Zach Galifianakis I've already offered to donate any organ to director Todd Phillips in the case that he needs one of course. If I'm Todd Phillips, I've already signed a deal with the devil to make Galifianakis available for any role he throws at him. Allow him enough space to roam and the results can be better than whatever was scripted -- and I imagine that's where Galifianakis went to with The Alan Garner role in 2009's The Hangover. This year, we saw out of control taken to the extreme with Due Date, which only promises that The Hangover II (making it three film in three years) could be a defining moment for this odd-couple. ...

[Spoiler Alert!] In the first image, Zach Galifianakis' Alan Garner is seen having a bald head. According to the site, he will shave his head after becoming a monk. Meanwhile, in the other picture Ed Helms' Stu Price is featured sporting a face tattoo.
It was previously reported that Liam Neeson portrays a tattoo artist in "The Hangover" sequel, raising speculation that his character is the one who will give Price the face tattoo. However, the "Clash of the Titans" actor has recently debunked the story, stating he will not play a tattooist in Thailand.
Neeson even told People that he is shooting his part in a movie studio in Los Angeles, but refused to reveal his character.

"The Hangover" director Todd Phillips is developing a new John Belushi biopic - and Zach Galifianakis is at the top of his leading men list. The filmmaker is a longtime fan of the tragic comedy legend and admits he's close to pre-production on the film of Belushi's life.
He tells Details magazine he has yet to cast the film - but his The Hangover star Galifianakis is a favorite to play the wildman. Phillips admits he's surprised by Internet stories suggesting Seth Rogen will play Belushi: "They want Seth Rogen? That's interesting. I honestly never even thought of that. Zach, obviously. Zach Galifianakis is set to reprise his role as Alan Garner in the sequel to "The Hangover". He will be playing once again with Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Heather Graham and Justin Bartha.

Synopsis: From director Todd Phillips, “Due Date” stars Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis as two unlikely companions who are thrown together on a road trip that turns out to be as life-changing as it is outrageous. Downey plays Peter Highman, an expectant first-time father whose wife’s due date is a mere five days away. As Peter hurries to catch a flight home from Atlanta to be at her side for the birth, his best intentions go completely awry when a chance encounter with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Galifianakis) forces Peter to hitch a ride with Ethan—on what turns out to be a cross-country road trip that will ultimately destroy several cars,...

Yesterday, it was made official that Mel Gibson would be making a "surprise" cameo in The Hangover 2 as a tattoo artist the boys run into. Most are seeing the special appearance as career rehab for the former Mad Max after abusive, racist, misogynistic rants came online a couple months ago. Naturally, some people aren't too pleased to see Gibson get work and further his career after his outburst, and one of those people may be Zach Galifianakis. Vulture reports that the actor, who plays Alan Garner in the Todd Phillips comedy, recently appeared on the Comedy Death-Ray Radio podcast where he made it know that was was in "deep protest" about events transpiring on the set of the film he is currently working on. During the interview, he mentions that there are instances where he turns films down on "moral grounds," though he never mentions The Hangover 2 by name.

"The Hangover" star Zach Galifianakis has been given honor to strip to his lady swimsuit for Vanity Fair's Swimsuit Calendar for November issue. With the mag dubbing him their "November Vanities girl", Zach strips to a one-piece fuchsia swimsuit while sitting on a sandy shore.
For the issue, Zach is willing to cross-dress in 5 different suggestive poses with Sam Jones serving behind the lens. The "Youth in Revolt" actor joins models/actresses who have previously posed in swimwear for the mag, including Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima and Gisele Bundchen.
The swimsuit shots aside, Zach Galifianakis will be seen reprising his role as Alan Garner in "The Hangover 2". The actor, along with castmates Ed Helms, Justin Bartha and Bradley Cooper, has begun filming the movie which "takes place in Bangkok and L.A.," director Todd Phillips told MTV. The film itself is slated for 2011 release.

It’s official: The Hangover’s wolf pack has reunited. Today, pictures from the set of the 2009 hit’s sequel, The Hangover 2, surfaced on the Interwebs. And if there’s anything more noteworthy about the photos than the disappointing absence of Carlos — or Mike Tyson’s cinnamon-loving tiger — it’s star Zach Galifianakis’ fashion … and the fact that I’ve realized it’s nearly impossible to differentiate any of the actor’s many characters based solely on wardrobe. Look to your right: Can you guess which character Galifianakis is playing in each photo? Answer after the jump!

Filming for the next Hangover movie has finally begun and they're currently in Ontario, CA before switching over to Thailand. While they are still just barely getting started on the set (last Friday was their first day), fans are already eager to see what's going to happen next with our group of dysfunctional friends. Already pics from the set have started to hit the web and Pop Sugar managed to snag them. They aren't the most exciting of pictures, but it's great to see the four men back together again for this film. If it's anything like the last one, it's sure to be hilarious.
I will say that seeing Zach Galifianakis wearing that ridiculous coat, with a front bow and cravat already has me laughing. Only a character like Alan Garner would try something like that (and pull it off), and I can't wait to see him back in action.

It feels as though it's been ages since the first film came out, but filming is finally underway for Todd Phillips' The Hangover 2 in Bangkok, Thailand. Just last week the director went on record saying that the film will contain many surprises for the fans, including the return of Ken Jeong's Mr. Chow. Judging by these first set photos, Zach Galifianakis' odd fashion sense will be back as well. Pop Sugar has gotten its mitts on the first pictures from the film and while they might seem a tad generic, one look at Galifianakis' jacket will completely change your mind. Only Alan Garner could pull off that many pockets, a front bow and a cravat. Absolutely beautiful. Check out the two of the photos below and head over to Pop Sugar to see the rest.

Who doesn’t like Steve Carell, or Paul Rudd, for that matter? Two of the coolest guys in comedy are back this Friday, July 30th in a new movie called Dinner For Schmucks, directed by Jay Roach. The movie also stars Zack Galafinakis, who’s also cool, in his own “wolf pack of one” sort of way. Not heard of it? Schmuck! But, no… seriously, the movie looks incredibly funny. So, we’ve decided to honor the cinematic schmucks, the best of them have made our Top Ten Tuesday list this week.

When people watched Zach Galifianakis in last year's The Hangover, they likely had two thoughts: "this guys is absolutely hilarious" and "I'd love to see this character again." But while Will Ferrell is pegged as the petulant man-boy and Vince Vaughn constantly plays the smarmy jackass, it looks as though Galifianakis is trying to develop some depth. Yahoo! has premiered the first trailer for It's Kind of a Funny Story, and while Galifianakis' character is a mental patient, it appears to be a different kind of crazy than what we saw when he played Alan Garner. Rounding out the cast is Keir Gilchrist, Aasif Mandvi, Lauren Graham, Viola Davis, Zoe Kravitz and Emma Roberts. The movie looks like your typical quirky independent comedy, but it seems to have enough heart to back it up. Check out the trailer below or in HD over at Yahoo! function getVideo() { var so = new...

You'll remember Zach Galifianakis from The Hangover, in which he played audience favourite Alan Garner, but it's fair to say he hasn't made much of an impact since then, starring in last year's G-Force, which disappointed at the box office. However, this could all change for the 40-year-old, as there are whispers that he's been offered the title role in The Incredible Mr Limpet, a remake of the 1964 family comedy.
The original film, which was part-live action and part-animation, starred Don Knotts as Henry Limpet, a bookish shy guy rejected from the Navy. When he falls into the water near Coney Island, everyone assumes he's dead, but he's actually turned into an animated fish that helps provide intelligence to the Navy and helps the Allies win the Battle of the Atlantic during World War II. Sounds like a plot that could go either way to us, so we hope it's sensibly handled by Warner Bros.

Todd Phillips has had several things set for "The Hangover 2". Speaking to Collider, the helmer informs that he is looking forward to shooting the film in early November this year. He, however, realizes that the date is subject to change because there are a lot of people involved in this film. "That's what we're trying, but you know a lot of it has to do with Ed Helms' [The] Office schedule and Bradley Cooper's other movies," he explains, before adding "Right now our goal is to start shooting November 1st."

Bradley Cooper scared his co-star by asking if he could sleep with him. Zach Galifianakis - who plays Alan Garner in new movie 'The Hangover', the future brother-in-law of Bradley's character Phil Wenneck - was taken aback when Bradley asked to rest in his trailer on set.

However, Zach soon found himself enjoying the impromptu sleepovers and even started lulling Bradley to sleep.
