Justin Hartley’s “This Is Us” character Kevin Pearson gets a bad rap, the actor believes, to the point that he wouldn’t dare call him a “bad guy” and is instead “misunderstood.”
“It was just like, the guy can’t get out of his own way, but he’s not a bad guy, but everyone thinks he’s kind of an a–hole, you know what I mean? But he’s really not,” Hartley said in an interview with EW.
“He’s misunderstood, but maybe kind of an a–hole, you know,” Harley added. “So you sit there and you go, ‘Man, I wish I could help this guy,’ but you just can’t.”
The actor also admitted that there are elements of himself in Kevin, which might be one reason why he’s still defensive of the character years after the show ended in 2022. “I think later on,...

Stephen Falk’s Fxx underrated comedy “You’re the Worst,” which ran from 2014 to 2019, is a rom-com at heart … and it’s also raunchy, mean, deeply strange, and even off-putting at times. It’s a show where the central couple, Gretchen Cutler and Jimmy Shive-Overly — Aya Cash and Chris Geere in roles they were seemingly born to play — first meet at a wedding where Jimmy just got kicked out and Gretchen is stealing a gift. Both of their characters are established in their very first interaction. Gretchen asks Jimmy for a cigarette, and he’s irritated because they’re “expensive.” The incredulous yet brazen way Cash looks at Geere in response is the blueprint for Gretchen and Jimmy’s dynamic going forward.

There’s Zack Morris’ Isaiah, the charismatic football star and his best friend James played by Miles McKenna, a fun and sarcastic rich kid dealing with the pitfalls of being one of the small town’s only openly queer residents. Ana Yi Puig plays the tough, strong and socially isolated Isabella, Will Price is Lucas, who’s as lovably affable as he is occasionally idiotic, and Isa Briones is the staggeringly charming Margot, Isaiah’s neighbor, lifelong friend and on-again,...

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight is a Dreamworks animation series based on the popular and hilarious movie Kung Fu Panda. With Jack Black and Rita Ora.
A really entertaining animated series suitable for the whole family which has known how to adapt television rhythm to the characters of Dreamworks movies and has managed, with the voices of Jack Black and Rita Ora, a delightfully entertaining delicacy with all the necessary ingredients.
Although it does not have the speed of the movies and does not seek spectacularity, it is a series that rests on the attractive personalities of the characters and the funny things and sense of humor in the ingenious dialogues and has an entertaining storyline, which is attractive and above all, lots of fun.

This series will be enjoyed by big and small viewers in a way that only Dreamworks knows how to do.

In this era of so-called peak TV, television networks, cable channels, and streaming services continue to disgorge a head-spinning array of content on a seemingly daily basis. Watching all this content is simply a physical impossibility for one person. Given the sheer volume of television shows competing for viewers' attention, it's not surprising that a select few shows will inevitably rise to the top while others face the cruel axe of cancellation.
Yet this has always been the case since not every TV series deserves to become a hit. However, there have also been many shows that were high-quality but never quite managed to find the audiences that they should have.
This is particularly true when it comes to the situation comedy, which is a genre that dates back to the earliest days of television and has remained a staple with viewers. Some sitcoms, such as "Friends," "Seinfeld," and "The Office,...

The Pearsons may be gone, but they’re certainly not forgotten. A whopping 19 “This Is Us” cast members have been submitted by NBC on the 2022 Emmys ballot, including all of the core adult family members. That number includes three lead performers: Sterling K. Brown as Randall Pearson, Milo Ventimiglia as Jack Pearson and Mandy Moore as Rebecca Pearson. In years past, Justin Hartley as Kevin Pearson has also dabbled in lead, but for this final season he’s competing in supporting. One fan-fave guest star was not submitted on the Emmy ballot and thus cannot be nominated: 2017 winner Gerald McRaney, who returned in the penultimate episode as the ghost of lemonade-loving Dr. K.

While “This Is Us” is a drama about multiple generations of a family, it also includes a mystery within its premise. In future scenes, it has been revealed that Rebecca (Mandy Moore) has been living in the home Kevin (Justin Hartley) built for her, as she gets older and her dementia gets worse. The family has seemingly gathered to say goodbye.
The flash-forwards, which take place about 10 to 15 years in the future judging by the age of Kevin’s twins, have filled in some blanks, while leaving other doors wide open.
One character that has appeared is Rebecca’s husband, Miguel (Jon Huertas), as it was revealed in a May episode that he died before she did.
Instead, Jack’s brother, Nicky (Griffin Dunne), is by her side. The show has confirmed that no, Nicky and Rebecca aren’t together, as he’s married to Edie (Vanessa Bell Calloway), who is also there.

Spoler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched “The Night Before the Wedding,” the April 26 episode of “This Is Us.”
Another “This Is Us” mystery was solved during Tuesday’s episode. In previous flash-forwards, Kevin (Justin Hartley) is wearing a wedding ring, but his wife was not yet identified — until now. At Kate’s (Chrissy Metz) wedding to Phillip (Chris Geere), Kevin reconnected with his ex-wife, Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge), whom he has loved since they met in grade school. Although she was hesitant at first since he’d broken her heart many times and they had too much history, Rebecca (Mandy Moore), who thought she was talking to young Sophie due to her dementia, told her that while Kevin may not be ready now for her, he would be one day.
With that, Sophie agreed that now was the right time to give their romance another shot.

Chris Geere is breathing a sigh of relief. After This Is Us revealed last May that, in a future timeline, Pearson sibling Kate (Chrissy Metz) was about to marry her cantankerous widowed boss, Phillip (Geere), with no sign of her first husband, Toby (Chris Sullivan), the British actor knew viewers would assume the worst. “The fans all thought I was the one causing the problem [between them],” he says. Instead, in the show’s April 12 hour, we found out Phillip and Kate didn’t have their first date until well after “KaToby” went kaput. Whew! As the two-parter focusing on Phillip and Kate’s wedding day concludes on Tuesday, April 26, we go back to the night before, getting answers to questions that came up last week. “You’d think that the focus of these episodes would be the wedding. No, they’re not,” Geere says. Much of the attention in the April...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Season 6, Episode 13 of This Is Us, “The Day of the Wedding.”] This Is Us is nearing its end as only five episodes remain in the final season of NBC‘s family drama centering on the Pearsons. And while some questions have been answered in Season 6, there are others that still remain, particularly when it comes to Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley). As viewers have seen in a flash-forward set at the Pearson family cabin, Kevin does end up married sometime in the future, but the identity of his bride remains unclear. In the show’s latest installment, “Day of the Wedding,” though, there are hints at three potential suitors as Kevin comes off of a series of bad relationships. After Madison (Caitlin Thompson) and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) find a poem, bra, and shawl in Kevin’s room before Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Philip’s (Chris Geere) nuptials, they begin an investigation. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Season 6, Episode 13 of This Is Us, “The Day of the Wedding.”] This Is Us is expanding its timeline as the story takes place further into the future than most long-term plots in “The Day of the Wedding.” While much of the episode took viewers back to the past with Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), most of the action takes place in the near future at Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Philip’s (Chris Geere) wedding. Below, we’re breaking down all of the crucial moments so beware of spoilers ahead. Rebecca Gets Spontaneous In the past, Rebecca gets the Big 3 — played by Isabella Rose Landau (Kate), Kaz Womack (Kevin), and Ca’Ron Jaden Coleman (Randall) —ready for school goes through her drop-off routine and grocery trip feeling bogged down by the monotony. And so, when she stops by the salon, she decides to get bold with her hair by getting it cut ...

As This Is Us viewers can attest, the true tragedy of Jack Pearson’s (Milo Ventimiglia) untimely death was that the man cruelly ripped from his family was a really, really good guy. Jack and wife Rebecca (Mandy Moore), as we see in flashbacks, had the type of relationship most couples only dream of having. They finish each other’s sentences, they make sure one of them is always watching the kids, and they truly, deeply love each other. In flash-forwards, we’ve seen Rebecca nearing the end of her life, and in a promo for tonight’s episode about the wedding of Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Phillip (Chris Geere), she tells her kids she can’t wait for their father to get there. While this could be attributed to Rebecca’s memory slips, it’s possible something else is going on. Big changes are coming. Don’t miss the...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched “Katoby,” the April 12 episode of NBC’s “This Is Us.”
Wednesday’s episode of “This Is Us” marked the official end of Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan), during which she officially threw in the towel after he made a harsh remark about her late father. (Full recap here!) Instead of responding, Kate was interrupted by her son yelling, and when she returned, she told Toby it was over.
But that wasn’t originally the plan.
“I had like a whole monologue rebuttal to his remarks. That dinner scene where they’re both trying to rekindle the romance, and understand where each other’s coming from — it’s those little nicks that you cut into your significant other, and then eventually, just start to bleed out,” Metz tells Variety. “There was a whole monologue that she was just like,...

“It’s really the beginning of the end for them,” Chrissy Metz says of the latest This Is Us tearjerker episode, which may finally reveal how Kate and her husband Toby (Chris Sullivan) come to part ways. Since the start of the time-hopping drama’s final season, Toby has been working at a San Francisco startup, flying back to Los Angeles to spend weekends with music teacher Kate and their two young children. “They’re finding that their happiness is in two different places, and that’s a really hard place to be,” says Metz. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Season 6, Episode 7 of This Is Us, “Taboo.”] This Is Us is steadily approaching its sixth and final season conclusion and the downfall of Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby’s (Chris Sullivan) relationship grows more evident with each passing episode, particularly in its most recent installment, “Taboo.” As viewers already know, based on near-future flash-forward sequences, Kate’s going to end up marrying her coworker Phillip (Chris Geere), how we get there will remain to be seen though. This means that Toby and Kate will have to come to an end and it isn’t looking like it will be pretty. We haven’t known This Is Us‘ Phillip very long… but way he gazed at Kate in Tuesday’s season premiere told us a lot about the heretofore reserved Brit. That said, new cast addition Chris Geere previews that even though a flash-forward in Season 5 clued us in to the fact that Kate and Phillip will eventually marry, there’ll be no whirlwind romance between the two. Instead, Geere says, there’ll be a “slow build” from co-workers to life partners.
And that makes sense, given how Kate is very married — to Toby — at the current point in the story.

There are questions every fan of This Is Us wants answered before NBC’s time-hopping Pearson family drama makes us shed our last tear. How does music teacher Kate (Chrissy Metz), currently married to Toby (Chris Sullivan), end up engaged to her crusty coworker Phillip (Chris Geere)? Can her brother Kevin (Justin Hartley) and his ex-fiancée Madison (Caitlin Thompson) still get happy endings? Will mom Rebecca (Mandy Moore) find peace when she loses her battle to (presumably) Alzheimer’s? What else will late dad Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) teach us about marriage, parenting, and ourselves? On a Saturday in December, after Ventimiglia had spent the week pulling double duty on set — “Yesterday was Day 3 in a pool with 7-year-olds, wearing a fake beard, acting and directing” — he phoned us to dish. On Tuesday night in Hollywood, the cast and creatives behind NBC’s “This Is Us” took a break from filming the sixth and final season of the hit family drama to celebrate the show’s impact on the fans, their careers and network television as we know it.
But the cast isn’t letting the nostalgia of this victory lap overwhelm them — at least not just yet.
“There’s no time for emotions on this set,” Milo Ventimiglia, who plays the late Pearson patriarch Jack, quipped, tells Variety. “I’ve been up since 3 in the morning!”
“I’m sure toward the end, we will begin to get emotional, but not yet, not right now. We’ve got a lot of work to do,” he added.
For Mandy Moore, a lot of that pent-up emotion will play well on-screen, as her character Rebecca goes on a bit of a “farewell tour” this season.

The This Is Us team gathered on the Paramount Lot on Tuesday night to tease the NBC drama’s sixth and final season, which is set to premiere on January 4.
Among those on hand was creator and exec producer Dan Fogelman, who explained that while he has the plot for the series finale in mind, with eight of 18 episodes fully shot, he has not yet committed it to paper. “As we speak, we’re up to about the writing and crafting of Episode 15 of 18, so we’ve got three or four more to do,” he shared. “We know what they are, we have the plan, but we haven’t actually written the scripts yet.”
Fogelman teased that he hopes to bring back some familiar faces from the past in the final season, “especially at the end”—with Sterling K. Brown confirming that we’ll “definitely” see Ron Cephas Jones’ William again.

Melanie Chandra and Surina Jindal are celebrating Diwali as first-generation Indian Americans in Comedy Central’s Hot Mess Holiday, premiering on Saturday night.
The movie special celebrates the Festival of Lights which became more widely known as “Indian Halloween,” thanks to an episode of The Office that sees Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) attend a party thrown by the parents of Mindy Kalin’s character, Kelly. But Chandra and Jindal want audiences to know the holiday is more than that.

Comedy Central announced its annual 31-day holiday extravaganza, featuring two new movies: “A Clüsterfünke Christmas,” debuting Dec. 4, and “Hot Mess Holiday,” premiering Dec. 11.
Both of these movies will air at 7 p.m. The network will announce additional titles for its”31 Days of Going Home for the Holidays” programming slate at a later date.
“A Clüsterfünke Christmas” stars Vella Lovell, Cheyenne Jackson, Ryan McPartlin, Nils Hognestad, Rachel Dratch and Ana Gasteyer and follows the story of real estate executive Holly who heads to a small town to buy the quaint Clüsterfünke Inn and transform it into a resort.
