Beyonce‘s career breakthrough came in the 1990s as a teenage member of Destiny’s Child. But since then she has established herself as one of the biggest music stars of the 21st century. So naturally it’s challenging to narrow down the greatest hits of her career … not that we let that stop us from trying, though. Scroll down for our countdown of her best songs — including “Countdown”! Do you agree with how we rank them?
Destiny’s Child had several hits including “Survivor” and “Bills, Bills, Bills,” but it was “Say My Name” that earned Beyonce her first Grammys when she was only 19: Best R&b Duo/Group Performance and Best R&b Song. She has since become one of the most awarded individuals in Grammy history, the most awarded woman in history, and the most nominated woman in history. But most of the top categories have eluded her.

When you think of Ashlee Simpson, there’s probably only one image that comes to mind: her lip-syncing snafu on SNL, in which she went to perform her second song of the night, only for the playback to trigger her first song, “Pieces of Me”. She had been caught going full Milli Vanilli. And to get herself out of the situation, Simpson basically la-la’d her way off stage while doing a jig, leaving her band behind to “play”. Twenty years after the incident, Simpson is remembering the moment as a life lesson. But this may not be the case for others who also made some serious bonehead moves on SNL…
It’s extremely rare for musical guests on SNL to go through gaffes of Ashlee Simpson’s magnitude: musicians like Elvis Costello would instead raise intentional hell by playing whatever song he wanted, while Sinead O’Connor used her moment to send a message.

Two decades ago, Jennifer Lopez took the pop zeitgeist by storm with "This is Me...Then," an album that immortalized her as "Jenny From The Block" and featured other hit singles like "All I Have" and "I'm Glad." The album went double platinum, and marked the last time Lopez topped the Billboard charts in the U.S. Lopez has gone through a lot as an artist and a person over the last 20 years; she's released several more albums, starred in films like "Hustlers" and "Marry Me", co-headlined a Super Bowl halftime show, judged "American Idol," and done a Las Vegas residency.

“Dancing With the Stars” kicked off Latin night on Tuesday in week 2 of the season 32 competition, and the 13 stars still standing — along with their pro partners — brought their very best to the ballroom.
The second week of competition proved to be a particular challenge for the couples, with a focus on Latin routines that required a bit more style, speed and physicality. As always, some celebs shined bright as standout talents, while others stumbled hard.
After two hours of passionate and greatly improved dances, it was up to America to vote on who deserved to perform once more next week, and whose time was already up.
In the end — through a combination of judges scores and audience votes — two couples were determined to be in jeopardy: Jamie Lynn Spears and Alan Bersten, as well as Adrian Peterson and Britt Stewart.

Karol G has added more dates to her Mañana Será Bonito stadium tour. This is the singer’s first-ever set of stadium performances in the United States. The tour is scheduled to begin on August 11 in Las Vegas before ending on September 7 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The trek is named after the Colombian star’s reggaeton album released in February 2023. The LP contained “Tqg” with Shakira, which became Karol G’s first top-10 single on the US Billboard Hot 100. Mañana Será Bonito was also the first all-Spanish language album by a woman to reach number one on the US Billboard 200.

Many of the defining hits of the past 25 years have been Beyoncé songs. She’s reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 a total of eight times as a solo artist. Despite this, some of her No. 1 singles have been much more impressive than others.
Beyoncé | Kevin Winter / Staff 8. ‘Check On It’
“Check on It” is a song about sexual teasing. That’s not really a subject matter that flies today, but the tune might be more tolerable if it had a better beat. The production here sounds like nothing and Slim Thug’s verses don’t add any extra spice to the track. Regardless, Queen B’s star power brought this to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
7. ‘Savage’
Beyoncé and Meghan Thee Stallion is a wining combination in theory. In practice, the beat of “Savage” sounds like an unfinished demo so all the effort both artists bring to the lyrics feels a little wasted.

The cast of "Saturday Night Live" might be full of comedians with an improv background, but if there's one thing showrunner Lorne Michaels doesn't like it's... well, improv. If you've ever been lucky enough to visit studio 8H and see how things work behind-the-scenes, it's not all joking around. In fact, it's quite intense, with the production crew racing around on-stage between sketches to prep the next setup. All of which is overseen by Michaels who has been running the show since 1975 (except for a brief hiatus in the early '80s).
And over his time shepherding NBC's legendary sketch show, Michaels has learned that any attempt to go off-script could throw his finely tuned machine into chaos. In fact, if a performer dares to indulge their improv sensibilities, it could well spell the end of their "SNL" career, such as when Damon Wayans decided to play a straight-man...

After 48 seasons, "Saturday Night Live" is a well-oiled machine ... most of the time. Like any live show, there's bound to be mistakes. Whether it's the SNL cast breaking character during a particularly funny sketch, musical guests going off-book, or a curse word that slips past the censors, the long-running sketch show has seen its share of flubs and blunders.
Which means that longtime showrunner Lorne Michaels — who's been in charge at the show long enough to have almost slept through the meeting that launched SNL — has to run a tight ship in order to keep mistakes to a minimum. With only a week to plan and rehearse a full hour-long show, the writers and cast have to work diligently to get everything in order throughout the week, running through sketches multiple times before they're performed live and often scrapping skits that didn't work in dress rehearsal minutes before the actual show goes out.

Even if you're not familiar with the name, Ir-Sais, you're probably familiar with the artist's work. But just as the single was peaking internationally, the pandemic hit, forcing Sais (real name: Irgwin Placido Sluis) into quarantine instead of letting him ride the wave of his recent success.

Jamaican rapper Sean Paul is letting his fans in on the little-known history behind his name. Born Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques Od, 49, the Jamaican rapper revealed why he took some inspiration for his stage name from Guyanese cricket player Shivnarine Chanderpaul, reports people.com.
“There’s a famous cricketer in Trinidad (named) Shivnarine Chanderpaul. Everybody was like, ‘Sean da Paul,’ and that name stuck,” he explained during a Vice documentary.
Since their names share a similar pronunciation, he adopted the moniker as a staple for much of his music.
He added: “Then I just started to say it in shows and met the dude Chanderpaul years later, and he’s like, ‘Yo!’ But yeah, big up to Shivnarine Chanderpaul.”
After the documentary premiered, which showcased the making of his 2003 hit ‘Get Busy’, he commented about the revelation in a cheeky Twitter post, writing: “If u didnt kno now you kno: big up #Chanderpaul.
