Bad Bunny, Quavo, JoJo Siwa and Simu Liu were among the artists, actors and athletes that took part in the MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium Saturday, but it was the Puerto Rican superstar (and, well, Bryan Cranston’s beard) that stole the show.

There’s one specific memory from A League of Their Own that actor Lori Petty carries with her.
Every night, co-star Tom Hanks would move his trailer onto the outfield grass of Wrigley Field in Chicago, the site of the film’s tryout scene, and park it in front of the historic ballpark’s famed ivy wall. The film’s stars cracked beers, took batting practice, and soaked in the big league atmosphere after hours. One evening, Petty, who played Rockford Peaches pitcher Kit Keller, and Hanks were having a casual game of catch when the future Oscar-winning actor paused the throwing session to take in the moment.
“Petty, you know when people go, ‘Remember when?’ That’s this right now,” Hanks said. “This isn’t going to happen again. This isn’t every movie. You’re going to do a lot of movies. This is not going to happen again.

And just like that, Dancing With the Stars‘ all-athletes edition has reached its semifinals. Just when you were getting used to this cycle’s breakneck pace — if you were getting used to it, that is — Season 26 is about to come to an abrupt end.
Monday’s broadcast of the ABC series was especially brutal, as half of the remaining competitors were booted before next week’s finale, bringing the crop from six teams to just three. But are the right pairs moving on?

Playing Tonya Harding's mother in I, Tonya won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Allison Janney, and she gratefully turned out to support the former figure skater when she recently made her debut on Dancing With the Stars' all-athletes season. "I thought she danced so beautifully," Allison, accompanied by co-star Mckenna Grace (who played the young Tonya), exclusively told Closer Weekly. "I know she's always a little worried about not having the grace and the choreography, but I thought that she did. She was beautiful and graceful and so emotional, and I'm so happy for her," Allison added. Tonya, 47, told Closer that she was thrilled to have Allison and Mckenna there for "my new beginning." She added, "It's a fresh start." Such a fun evening @dancingabc watching @therealTonyaHarding & @sashafarber1's beautiful and elegant performance! Looking forward to seeing more from you two!

‘Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” is bringing in some MVPs for the semifinals. Season 18 champ Meryl Davis, Season 20 fourth-place finisher Nastia Liukin and Season 22 seventh-place finisher Von Miller will serve as mentors to the remaining six contestants, “Entertainment Tonight” reports.
Davis, who was in the audience this week with world champion figure skater Nathan Chen, will mentor fellow Olympic figure skaters Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu. All of them are currently on the “Stars on Ice” tour, so it shouldn’t be hard for them to get face time. 2008 Olympic all-around gymnastics champ Liukin will share her pearls of wisdom with fellow Olympians Tonya Harding and Jennie Finch, and Denver Broncos linebacker Miller will help out his NFL pal Josh Norman and Olympic luger Chris Mazdzer. (Raise your hand if you think Tptb tried to get Nancy Kerrigan for Harding.)

In the second week of the competition on “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” with another double elimination looming, the eight remaining contestants performed two dances (one individual and one team) in hopes of surviving the brutal cut. With guest judge and season 24 champ Rashad Jennings on the panel, which stars got some much-needed assistance in getting to the Mirror Ball Trophy? We know what the judges thought. Below are my rankings of who shined and who flopped this week.
1. Mirai Nagasu & Alan Bersten – Foxtrot (Score: 37 out of 40)
Mirai felt a bit disappointed with last week’s scores. As an athlete, she’s very critical of herself and always wants to perform at her best. That type of pressure might have broken other contestants, but it lit a fire in Mirai on Monday night. Her foxtrot with her partner Alan was magical in every sense. It was full of content, graceful and elegant throughout.

We’ve officially reached the halfway point of Dancing With the Stars‘ all-athletes edition, but it feels like just last week that Season 26 had begun.
Oh, right — because it was just last week. Here’s hoping you haven’t gotten too invested in any of these sports stars, because Dancing‘s condensed season is hurtling toward the finish line faster than one of Chris Mazdzer’s luges.
Monday’s broadcast — which bizarrely doubled as the Week 2 installment and the third-to-last episode — booted two more athletes, leaving six pairs to compete on next Monday’s show.

The second most coveted thing on “Dancing with the Stars” after the Mirrorball trophy is a perfect score. You kind of need the latter to get the former; no one has ever won “Dancing with the Stars” without at least one perfect score. In a regular season, the judges don’t all bust out the 10 paddles until midway through the season, but with the all-athletes edition lasting only four weeks, those 10s could come as early as Week 2. So who will be the first one to get a 30?
The top scorers of Week 1 were three people we pretty much expected to do well: Olympic figure skaters Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu, and Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman. Rippon and Norman each nabbed a 24 with dynamic cha-chas, and Norman had the disadvantage of going last with only a short voting window before the double elimination took place. Nagasu received a 23 for her trick-heavy salsa.

For the first time “Dancing With the Stars” features an all-athlete cast including Olympic medalists, retired and current professional athletes and even the first collegiate athlete to ever appear on the show. With the competition at an all-time high, which athletes rose to the occasion and which ones failed to make the cut in the season premiere episode on Monday night. We’ve heard what the judges had to say. Below are my rankings from week one of “Dancing With the Stars: Athletes”.
1. Adam Rippon & Jenna Johnson – Cha Cha (Score: 24/30)
Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon is known for his over-the-top, fun personality. That was on full display with his energetic cha cha. I thought the routine was full of cha cha content and entertaining, and it really brought the house down. Adam and Jenna’s chemistry is off the charts, especially for week one. After Monday night I think Adam is the one to beat.

In just a few short hours, we'll finally be back in the ballroom — and this time, fans are especially excited for this first-ever all-athlete season of Dancing With the Stars which will feature quite the competitive cast! In fact, there a few stand-outs who we think have a very fair chance at winning the Mirror Ball Trophy. However, we have to see them compete first to really know, but this season will be different than others in another big way — it'll only be four weeks long. In a recent exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, pro dancer Keo Motsepe, who is paired with softball player Jennie Finch, shared why the show's 26th season will be so short compared to the normal three-month-long series. "I think the athletes we wanted to have, they can only do so much. I think the show is also trying to see if the athletes season is going to work.

If 25 seasons of Dancing With the Stars have taught us anything, it’s this: Bruno Tonioli loves a good spray tan.
Oh, and this: Professional athletes are darn good ballroom dancers. Across 25 cycles, the ABC reality competition has awarded 10 of its coveted Mirrorball trophies to athletes, and more than a dozen pro sports players have nabbed second or third place over the last 13 years of broadcasts.

Many sports figures have reigned victorious on Dancing With the Stars over the years — think Meryl Davis, Emmitt Smith, and Apolo Ohno — so it makes total sense that ABC is devoting a whole season to just athletes! Season 26 of the reality competition, dubbed Dancing With the Stars: Athletes, will feature 10 sporty types hitting the parquet floor for their shot at the Mirrorball Trophy. When does DWTS 2018 start? The time has finally arrived! Dancing With the Stars: Athletes is set to premiere tonight, Monday, April 30, at 8 p.m. Et on ABC. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) Who is on Dancing With the Stars this season? Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Johnny Damon, Adam Rippon, Jennie Finch, and Tonya Harding are the top five cast members to watch out for this season! Kareem, 71, is the show's oldest competitor and a retired NBA champ. Johnny, 44, is a former Mlb star who has two World Series rings to his name.

It happens every season. You peruse the “Dancing with the Stars” cast, make your predictions based on name and reputation, and are proven wrong. There is always someone you underestimated or overestimated — whether it’s their dance ability or fan support or overall appeal, or all of the above — who does better or worse than most people expected. Who will be that person this season?
Our “Dancing” odds have Adam Rippon winning, with Mirai Nagasu and, perhaps most surprisingly, Tonya Harding, next in line to take home the Mirrorball. Harding’s casting has been very divisive, but she does have supporters and she can ride her redemption story. Or maybe folks are banking on figure skaters’ past success on the show? Chris Mazdzer, the first luger on the show, is in fourth place and Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman, looking to be the fifth football player to win, is in fifth place.

Jennie Finch has been the face of women’s softball since leading the USA to a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She continued with the team at the 2008 Olympics, where she added a silver medal to her collection. Now Finch is the first softball player to appear on “Dancing with the Stars.” Will she hit a home run and take home the Mirror Ball Trophy? Let’s consider the pros and cons.
Pros:
Jennie has been a role model for young girls and has been outspoken about her Christian faith and her focus on her family after retiring from softball in 2010. So she should have no problem getting support from fans, since previous conservative or Christian contestants like Bristol Palin, Candace Cameron Bure and Sadie Robertson have done extremely well in their respective seasons on the show.
In addition, Finch is already rumored to be one of the contestants to beat this season.

Pro dancer Sharna Burgess deserves to Finally win ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ according to our readers
“Dancing with the Stars” fans probably already have celebrity contestants they’re rooting for in this all-athletes season, premiering April 30, but what about the professional dancers who are training and partnering with those celebs? Seven of the 10 pros competing this season have never won a Mirror Ball Trophy before, and when we asked our readers which of them is the most overdue for a victory it wasn’t even close. It’s time for Sharna Burgess to finally win. Scroll down to see our complete poll results at the bottom of this post.

Going into Friday morning’s announcement we already knew of four Olympians who would be competing for the Mirror Ball Trophy. Two of those come from the world of figure skating, a sport that has produced past winners Kristi Yamaguchi (season 6) and Meryl Davis (season 18) as well as runner-up Evan Lysacek (season 10). One is Adam Rippon, who won a bronze medal in the team event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang and stole the show both on and off the ice with his effusive personality.

You still have to wait until Friday for the contestants, but “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” has announced the full list of pros in an Instagram post Thursday. Unsurprisingly, the 10 pros are split evenly between men and women.
The pros are Gleb Savchenko, who confirmed his participation last month, Alan Bersten, Sasha Farber, Artem Chigvintsev, Keo Motstepe, Sharna Burgess, Emma Slater, Whitney Carson, Lindsay Arnold and Jenna Johnson.

Ever the tease, “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” hinted at two more contestants on Instagram Wednesday evening, hours after giving us a peek at a basketball player and a pro who is probably Lindsay Arnold. The two new posts featured one of “Dancing”’s go-to sports and a relatively new one for the show.
The first shot is a close-up of a man holding a woman’s hip in one hand and a football in another. Football, lest we forget, is “Dancing”’s favorite sport; 19 pigskin players have hoofed it, producing four winners. The spring “Dancing” installment is perfect for active football players since it’s still the football off-season. It’s also after the Super Bowl, so players could still be on a victory lap/taking advantage of opportunities. Might this be a Philadelphia Eagle?

ABC just teased that an NFL player would be among those taking part in the upcoming “Dancing With the Stars” season devoted to athletes. Despite rumors, we can reveal that it won’t be Johnny Manziel. While his name had been among those in the mix, this one-time Cleveland Brown quarterback is in the middle of an NFL comeback.
In 2012, Manziel made history as the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy as the star player on Texas A&M Aggies. Two years later, he was the 22nd pick in the NFL draft and spent two seasons in Cleveland. Released by the team at the end of the 2015 season, he has since returned to school and is now hoping to make it onto the roster of another team.

Another day, another Olympian. Olympic gold medalist and softball star Jennie Finch has joined “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” “Entertainment Tonight” reports.
