Updated: CBS has bought a multi-camera comedy from brothers Tim and Michael Hobert. The project, produced by Warner Bros Television, is about a newly married man who happens to be from a big family… he just doesn’t know it yet. It stems from Hoberts’ real-life experiences. Tim and Mike Hobert come from a large family — they are the middle and the youngest of five brothers. The two will co-write, with Tim Hobert executive producing and Mike Hobert co-executive producing. Last year, the two sold another semi-autobiographical comedy through Warner Bros TV, which was based on their experience working together. (Mike started off as an assistant for his 12-years-older writer-producer brother.) UTA-repped Tim Hobert, former executive producer/showrunner on the Fox comedy series ‘Til Death, serves as co-executive producer on the ABC/Wbtv comedy The Middle. Meanwhile, ABC has bought a comedy from Nastaran Dibai (Retired At 35, According To Jim). Inspired by personal experience,...

[1] As with film, not every television project that enters development actually makes it to the screen -- but sighing over what could've been is a task for some other day. Today, our curiosity is piqued by some of the more interesting-sounding series in the works, including shows by Transformers helmer Michael Bay (how's he gonna fit all those explosions on a tiny screen?) and Dark Knight writer David Goyer. I don't know that I'd actually want to follow all of these series if they actually made it to air, but I'll be keeping an eye on them to see how they pan out. After the jump: Starz orders Da Vinci's Demons, by Dark Knight writer David Goyer Michael Bay will exec produce Outsiders for The CW NBC buys a new comedy by Scrubs writer Tim Hobert and the guy who played intern Lonnie on same Showtime buys a new comedy from the Farrelly Bros.

This is a case of art imitating life times two: NBC has bought a single-camera comedy written by brothers Tim and Micheal Hobert based on their experience working together. The single-camera comedy, produced by Warner Bros TV, centers on Mike, a twentysomething man who lands a dream job as the assistant to a commercial director — his older brother Tim — only to learn that his job is mostly about keeping his brother’s hectic home life running smoothly. The project stems from a script deal Tim Hobert had with Warner Bros TV, where he works as a co-executive producer on the studio’s ABC comedy The Middle. It is inspired by real-life events. Years ago, comedy writer-producer Tim Hobert had a development deal with NBC that provided a little money for him to hire an assistant. His baby brother Mike, 12 years his junior, had recently graduated from USC and was interested...

Take Me Home is, in the simplest form, a road movie. It tells the story of two strangers who find themselves at less than desirable points in their life, and take off on a cross-country road trip from New York to California.
Sam Jaegar, best known for his role on the television show Parenthood, is the writer, director, and (along with his wife Amanda Jaeger) star of the film. I recently got the chance to have a conversation with him about how he came to make this project, the perils of wearing many hats, and the beauty of filming the United States.

After almost being cancelled several times on NBC, the network grim reaper finally caught up with the offbeat sitcom last May. But, as expected, ABC came to the rescue and took Scrubs over for season eight. Now, it looks like the doors of Sacred Heart will be closing for real this time... or will they?
Primarily seen through the eyes of intern-then-physician John "J.D." Dorian (Zach Braff), Scrubs centers around a group of egocentric doctors and nurses. Joining him at the hospital are best friend Chris Turk (Donald Faison), driven Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke), head nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes), abrasive Doctor Perry Cox (John McGinley), chief of medicine Doctor Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins), and the hospital's unnamed janitor (Neil Flynn). Others in the cast include Robert Maschio, Aloma Wright, Sam Lloyd, Christa Miller, Johnny Kastl, Travis Schuldt, Frank Encarnacao, Charles Chun, Mike Schwartz, and Michael Hobert.
