Over the course of 2010-2011, Zeds Dead became all but synonymous with the dubstep breakthrough of the same time period, but as the genre’s prominence on the Beatport charts has sank in recent years, the Canadian duo have abandoned ship. Their latest track, “Collapse 2.0,” is a by-the-numbers electro track that is unfortunately, nowhere near as memorable as their earlier work.
A simple piano melody accompanies dewy vocals by Memorecks before dropping into a chugging synth lead that leaves too much to be desired. Where comparable tracks from their earlier discography, like their ever-popular remix of “Eyes On Fire” by Blue Foundation, showcased their outside-the-box production chops, “Collapse 2.0″ comes across as an effort not to challenge the status quo, ultimately leaving the listener yearning for the Zeds Dead of yesteryear.
The track is now available as a bonus download for anyone who pre-orders Something Else Remixes on iTunes. Give it...

November is already a noteworthy month for Twilight Saga fans as Breaking Dawn arrives in theaters, but a new headline suggests the Breaking Dawn soundtrack will also arrive that month, on November 8th.
Boomtron got the news from a Tweet from the official Twilight Saga page. It read:

So, which artists Would you like to see? It looks like ‘Dancing With the Stars’ dancers, Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas just can’t get enough of our Twilight Saga soundtracks. Last week the duo danced to Sia’s ‘My Love’ for their waltz, and this week Chelsea and Mark are back for their rumba with Blue Foundation’s ‘Eyes on Fire’. You might just remember [...]

For the semifinals, Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas brought it -- all but guaranteeing them a spot in the Season 12 finale of "Dancing With the Stars."
They kicked off the night with a Argentine Tango, and though the judges loved it (9s from Len and Carrie and 10 from Bruno), their Rumba blew it out of the water.
Set to Blue Foundation's "Eyes on Fire" (probably best known for appearing on "Twilight" soundtrack), the dramatic Rumba was the perfect combination of storytelling and choreography. They got their first 30 of the season.
That left them in a bit behind Hines Ward and Kym Johnson at the first two rounds of scoring -- but that that changed the during the instant dance tournament, which saw them take the night's "Winner Takes It All" payload of 15 extra points.
But more importantly, they continued to show something they've brought to every performance since the premiere.

Once again, one of the song titles featured on a Twilight Saga soundtrack has been used on a popular reality television series. This time, it's Sia's "My Love" from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's Ost on Dancing With The Stars.
According to Twilight Lexicon, the song was used for the dance performance by Mark Ballas and Chelsea Kane. A video from that is attached in the sidebar!
Last time something like this happened it was with Paramore's "Decode" on American Idol. Before that, "Eyes On Fire" by Blue Foundation was featured So You Think You Can Dance? in 2009.
So, did you think the dance matched up with "My Love" well? Why or why not? In The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, "My Love" had a very special placement as the background music to the scene in which "Bella" (Kristen Stewart) and "Edward" (Robert Pattinson) begin to explore their physical relationship.

So far, the Twilight series' films have been blessed with great soundtracks which have been, in at least a few major instances, utilized well in the movies. For instance, with Twilight, there couldn't have been better pieces than Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole," Blue Foundation's "Eyes on Fire," or Robert Pattinson's "Let Me Sign" for the scenes which they accompanied. Similarly, with The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Thom Yorke's "Hearing Damage" was irreplaceable, and Lykke Li's "Possibility" framed the moment quite well.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's use of the soundtrack, too, had some brilliant moments - some which even merited a change of heart about the songs themselves - and here are my top five:

Forget news posts- I'm feeling a bit nostalgic and need to share... My obsession with these four glossy black books known as the Twilight saga began around October of 2008. It seems so long ago now, that the anticipation for the first movie drove me and fellow Twilighters wild. We had custom shirts made. We squealed. We talked Twilight shop non-stop. To this day, I can infuse Twilight lingo into any average conversation. In 2009, my world changed. What started as a simple outlet to vent, spread news, and oscillate between real-world obligations and an alternate reality exploded. What would have been a pipe dream months ago, the absolute fortune to interview entertainment figures, has now become a part of my reality. Real world and alternate reality have collided. Among the faces: Kellan Lutz- part one and part two Daniel Cudmore Gil Birmingham Oliver Irving, director, How to Be Ok Go...

Blue Foundation is a project Tobias originally started up with his brother. With the help of friends Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjaerg (vocalist for "Eyes on Fire") and Tatsuki Oshima for the first album, Tobias has found inspiration in enlisting assistance from various favorite musicians in his additional two records. The underground song, “Eyes on Fire,” was an unlikely overnight success and has, to date, garnered nearly nine million hits on their MySpace page. Tobias gave me some intimate information about the origination of "Eyes on Fire," revealing that it was not written for the soundtrack, rather has more humble beginnings: It really seems like the song was written for the movie, but it had not. It was written a year before in a cold, dark December night in Copenhagen in a very old and trashy house where I used to have my studio by Kirstine and me. I think the music and lyrics speak for itself,...

Twilight's soundtrack included quite a few burgeoning artists. One such was Blue Foundation, who performed one of the more popular songs entitled "Eyes on Fire." This song, along with the "dark" (or, perhaps, intriguing) nature of films and series such as "True Blood" and The Twilight Saga: New Moon, inspired one of the dance couples from "So You Think You Can Dance?" as well. "The story has a vampire-esque quality," said the dancer. The dance, which was inspired by Blue Foundations's song, brings to life a very interesting story indeed...

I cannot get through a minute of my day without having some background music or as I like to call it the soundtrack of my life. When the news of the soundtrack for Twilight hit me I immediately preordered it and anxiously awaited its arrival. I was bouncing with excitement to hear these songs after seeing the track listings and I must say that it has exceeded my expectations. There is not one song on this soundtrack that I skip over which is a feat for me because Im trigger happy when it comes to my stereo controls. It is a beautiful mix of sweet haunting romantic exciting and sad all wrapped up into 12 tracks 15 if you buy from ITunes.

It's perhaps the most sought-after movie soundtrack of the year, and now it's kinda sorta available online for you to throw on in the background while you dream of sexy vampire boyfriends and ... dark stuff! Yup, looks like most of the upcoming Twilight soundtrack has hit YouTube, and it features songs from angsty bands like Linkin Park, Collective Soul, The Black Ghosts and -- wait for it -- the super misunderstood hottie Robert Pattinson himself on a tune called Never Think. (Tell me this guy Pattinson didn't pick the right movie to sign on to? I hope he sends his agent flowers and candy every single day.)

The official track listing for "Twilight" soundtrack has been unearthed. On Monday, October 6, Chop Shop Records has announced all of the artists taking part to create the signature tunes for the vampire romance flick as well as the title of the songs. Musicians from Muse and Linkin Park to Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell and composer Carter Burwell are several of the talented people behind the tracks.
The unveiling of the list has also answered speculations that Muse will contribute a track for the soundtrack. In it, they will present "Supermassive Black Hole", their first single from their fourth album, "Black Holes & Revelations". The official list has also let out that aside from the previously streamed "Decode", Paramore have also included their track "I Caught Myself" in the motion picture album. Additionally, Collective Soul will deliver one of their "Dosage" singles, "Tremble for My Beloved", while Iron & Wine shares "Flightless Bird,...
