A clip of Danny Masterson on Light Night with Conan O’Brien has resurfaced after the actor was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.
In a 2004 interview, Masterson and Conan O’Brien discuss the Long Island native’s lack of an accent. Masterson said that the accent “goes away naturally” but pointed out that some words won’t go away naturally.
After giving an example where he accents one of his private parts, Conan asks, “So why are you asking people to do that? That’s the more important question.”
Masterson then responded, “I mean, you got ’em, you know what I mean? Everybody should grab.”
“I’ve heard about you. And you’ll be caught soon, I know you will,” Conan added.

The “That ’70s Show” star insisted his accent “just goes away naturally, and then there’s also certain words that there’s nothing you can do about.”
He recalled how his friend, actor Bodhi Elfman, “always teases me, and he says ‘Hi, my name is Danny Masterson, would you like to touch my balls?’”

Just minutes after Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for multiple rapes Thursday, an old late-night clip with the actor resurfaced on X, instantly going viral to amass 2.6M views within hours.
In the video from a 2004 appearance on NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien, captioned with the news of the sentencing followed by “Conan knew,” Long Island native Masterson is quizzed by the comedy host about his lack of Long Island accent.
The innocuous banter takes a sharp turn after an eyebrow-raising anecdote Masterson chooses to illustrate his point that his accent “just goes away naturally, and then there’s also certain words that there’s nothing you can do about.” The anecdote involves his friend, actor Bodhi Elfman, who Masterson says “always teases me, and he says ‘Hi, my name is Danny Masterson, would you like to touch my balls?'” saying the...

The $2.3 billion Msg Sphere in Las Vegas turned on its exosphere for the first time on Fourth of July. The 366-foot tall and 516-foot wide structure, featuring the world’s largest LED screen, illuminated the Vegas strip with a spectacular display of imagery.
“The Exosphere is more than a screen or a billboard – it is living architecture, and unlike anything that exists anywhere in the world,” Guy Barnett, senior vice president for brand strategy and creative development at Sphere Entertainment, said in a statement. “[Tuesday] night’s show provided a glimpse of the Exosphere’s captivating power, and the possibilities for artists, partners, and brands to create compelling and impactful stories to connect with audiences in new ways.”

The streaming landscape is as crowded as ever this week. Apple TV+ has a new series from the team behind "Gossip Girl," a murder mystery called "City on Fire." Netflix is bringing back the fab five for season 7(!) of "Queer Eye." Meanwhile, Pete Davidson is getting confessional in the semi-autobiographical comedy "Bupkis," and "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is finally swinging its way towards Disney+.
If you burn through "Queer Eye," make sure to check out "Getting Curious," which puts Jonathan Van Ness' sunny spin on the educational show format. "City on Fire" stars can also be spotted in recent cult favorite teens shows "Generation" and "I Am Not Okay With This."
Have you heard about the Writers Guild of America strike? Round out the week with some essential strike-related viewing: "Harlan County, U.S.A." is a classic documentary streaming on HBO Max, while the workplace sitcom "Superstore" adds comedy to a labor movement plotline.

Pete Davidson shows off his dance moves, including a mean tango, in the first official trailer for his new series, “Bupkis,” in which he plays a fictionalized version of himself. The Peacock series debuts on May 4.
The trailer also features the comedian jumping into a grave and taking a high-speed joy ride with Bobby Cannavale. And screaming, lots of screaming.
“You run around like a kid and you’re not a kid anymore, you’re a man,” says Joe Pesci, who plays his grandfather, while Edie Falco, who plays his mother, tells him it’s not easy being his mom. His therapist (played by Charlie Day) also tells ‘”Bupkis” Pete, “You don’t exactly lead a quiet life.”

Oscar nominations were announced on Tuesday morning, and indie breakout “Everything Everywhere All At Once” led the pack with 11 nominations in total. So later that night, “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon carved some time out in his monologue to explain exactly what the movie is.
In reality, the A24 film is a multiversal adventure — though not a superhero multiverse — that follows Evelyn as she attempts to defeat a villain named Jobu Tupaki, who can traverse realities. Jobu is an alternate universe’s version of her daughter, Joy, played by Stephanie Hsu, who nabbed a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
But, according to Fallon, the movie is actually something totally different — and much more political.

There’s no instruction manual for the rap industry. A streaming marketplace flooded with music means it takes more than ever for an artist to stand out from the pack, and figuring out how to improve on your craft and navigate the business end at the same time leaves many rappers scrambling for answers. And in some cases, it leaves artists susceptible to scammers and promoters peddling false promises of easy fame.
Mickey Factz wants to change all that. He’s spent the last 15 years building his own career from the ground up.

Showtime has acquired the North American rights to “Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men,” Sacha Jenkins’s documentary series on rap group Wu-Tang Clan.
The four-part series, which will debut the first two episodes during the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 28, will air on Showtime this spring.
“The Wu-Tang Clan is a seminal group that deserves a seminal documentary,” said Vinnie Malhotra, executive vice president, nonfiction programming, Showtime Networks Inc. “Sacha Jenkins delivers just that, not only reminding us of their powerful history through vintage footage, but also placing their impact in modern-day perspective that will be meaningful both to their diehard fans and music fans in general. I’m excited to be returning to Sundance with Sacha years after his directorial debut with what I believe to be his best work yet.”

The story of one of the greatest rap groups is coming to television. Hulu has given a straight-to-series order to Wu-Tang: An American Saga, a 10-episode drama from Wu-Tang Clan front man The RZA, writer Alex Tse (Superfly) and Imagine Television.
Created and written by The RZA and Tse, the series is based on the Wu-Tang Clan, one of the most influential groups in hip-hop history, and will explore and expand the band’s world.
Set in early ’90s New York at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic, the show tracks the Clan’s formation, a vision of Bobby Diggs aka The RZA, who strives to unite a dozen young, black men that are torn between music and crime but eventually rise to become the unlikeliest of American success stories.
Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo will executive produce with Tse and Wu-Tang Clan members The RZA and Method Man.

You've already heard the smash hit song (okay, not quite), "I Love You All," from the upcoming offbeat comedy "Frank," but now's your chance to see the masked man himself — Michael Fassbender — perform the song live. The actor hit "The Colbert Report" earlier this week to promote the film, and had something special up his sleeve (even if it isn't the full Wu-Tang Clan reunion that was going on over on the "The Daily Show"). Donning the papier maché head from the movie, Fassbender took to the TV studio and belted out "I Love You All." And that's all we're going to say about it, so you should just watch the clip below. "Frank" opens on August 15th.

Loners and outcasts have no greater cinematic patron saint than Jim Jarmusch, the fiercely independent writer-director who's spent over three decades chronicling urban fringe-dwellers, road trippers, rockabilly tourists, Zen hitmen and, now, vampires. The 60-year-old filmmaker's latest, Only Lovers Left Alive, centers on a centuries-old couple (played by Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston) who like their Type O served neat, though its a far cry from the recent wave of vampire chic; it's really a languorous romance in which two lovers struggle with immortality-engendered ennui. It may be Jarmusch's first foray into horror films,...

There was indeed a movie planned for this week’s Shaw Brothers column, but in light of the recent sad news regarding Sir Run Run Shaw’s passing, a more tasteful move here is to dedicate this space to the man with a few words about what he meant to fans, kung fu, and film.
There is a plethora of sources to read about Run Run Shaw’s life (his Chinese name is actually Shao Renleng), especially in recent days as most cultural media journalists provided the requisite plot points to the man’s life story (and his rarely mentioned contribution to 1982′s Blade Runner) in the wake of his death. Today’s column shall therefore sidestep the obvious route, preferring to consider his legacy, what it means and how he went about building it sky high.

Ever seen Nightbreed by Clive Barker? Probably not, but as a hymn to monsters it’s worth a watch. One of the grotesque beasts furnishes our innocent, and still human, hero with three fundamental truths: God is an astronaut; Oz is over the rainbow; and Midian is where the monsters live. He could have added: if you go to a Wu Tang Clan concert it’s highly probable that not all of them will bother turning up.

It's been over a year since Tupac performed in hologram form at Coachella, and now more deceased rappers are following in his footsteps. It's being reported that "virtual" versions of Eazy-e and Ol' Dirty Bastard will perform at the Rock the Bells hip-hop festival for its 10th anniversary.
AllHipHop.com broke the news, which has now been confirmed on the Rock the Bells website. Eazy-e's hologram will perform with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, while O.D.B. will perform with surviving members of the Wu Tang Clan. Family members are said to have signed off on the hologram idea.
Unsurprisingly it was the 2012 Tupac hologram that inspired this idea. While he was alive, Ol' Dirty Bastard performed at Rock the Bells once, while Eazy-e never did. The Rock the Bells festival takes place in four locations: San Bernardino, Calif,, Mountain View, Calif., Washington D.C. and Rutherford, N.J. Eazy-e died in 1995 due to complications with AIDS,...

So the Parkour elephant in the room is that remaking Luc Besson.s cool French action flick District B13 does not need to be done. But since it.s happening in the form of director Camille Delamarre.s Brick Mansions, all we can hope for is some flashy balls-out action. And stars Paul Walker and David Belle will need to protect their necks from a newly cast co-star. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Wu Tang Clan member RZA will be wearing his acting hat for the EuropaCorp and Relativity Media-produced film. Last year he released his directorial debut The Man With the Iron Fists, which he also wrote, starred in and wrote the music for with Howard Drossin. He also got quite a few laughs for his cameo as Blind Master in G.I. Joe: Retaliation earlier this year. Next up, he.ll be co-starring in Fox.s action...

Twelve Reasons to Die is the tenth studio album from founding Wu Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah. It is a concept album based on a comic book of the same name, it is based around Ghostface Killah’s alter ego, Tony Starks as he reads the comic and writes songs to it. The story is set in 1960s Italy, in which Starks fights against a crime organization, falls in love with the kingpin’s daughter, and seeks revenge when he is murdered. The album is entirely produced and composed by Adrian Younge, and executive produced by the RZA.
The album was released on April 16, 2013 by the RZA’s Soul Temple record label. It is a relatively short album made up of 12 tracks and coming in at just under forty minutes. Ghostface has been my favourite Wu member since he dropped his first solo album prior to...

Former members of the Wu Tang Clan – Ghostface Killah and RZA – are known for being huge fans of cult cinema and grindhouse films. Their lyrics and use of imagery throughout their music videos over the years have proven this countless of times. Continuing this trend is the video for Ghostface Killah’s first single off his new album Twelve Reasons To Die. Sporting a very cool retro horror cover, the album just hit stores and online retailers yesterday. “Rise of the Ghostface Killah” is the name of the song and with it comes a video chock-full of 70′s and 80′s satanic cult imagery. Let’s be honest, it doesn’t have quite the sophistication of imagery as seen in Rosemary’s Baby and Race With the Devil and seems more inspired by such late 80′s grindhouse flicks Prime Evil and Black Candles. Horror fans should Definitely enjoy this fun video.

★☆☆☆☆ There's hardly much more to say about Neanderthal martial arts movie The Man with the Iron Fists (2012) other than it is an affront to the defining contributions made by directors such as Ang Lee and Wilson Yip over the years. This deeply cerebral genre has been completely macerated by director RZA, best known for his hip-hop career with Wu Tang Clan, and 'presented bys' gore guru Quentin Tarantino. We have been spoilt in recent years - certainly blessed with a mini Golden Age due to advances in cinematography and choreography - but this tactless portrayal of warriors and warlords will be forgotten in an instant.

The haunted attraction recently opened on The Las Vegas Strip, and for the first of a two-part special feature, we have her interview with Goretorium CEO Robert Frey:
Thanks for taking the time to talk to us. I was searching a little about you online and saw you say that you haven’t been a horror fan until now. So as a non-horror fan, how did Goretorium happen?
Robert Frey: Well, I’ve always been a big fan of Halloween; it’s my favorite holiday. I like dressing up and just seeing everyone in costumes. With my background of being in Vegas, the holiday was always a big deal. That’s the date that Nevada was admitted into the Union, it’s a local holiday,...

One can only imagine Russell Crowe's reaction when he was approached about The Man with the Iron Fists. He had to be ecstatic about a script co-penned by the Wu Tang Clan's (and avid film buff) RZA and genre guru Eli Roth, and about a project executive produced by Quentin Tarantino, right? A tribute to the great martial arts films of the 70s and 80s, The Man with the Iron Fists focuses on the character of Blacksmith (RZA), a mysterious stranger who arrives in the small Chinese town of Jungle Village after escaping slavery. Earning a living making weapons for rival clans in the East, Blacksmith ultimately finds himself caught in the middle of a vicious and bloody battle for the emperor's gold. Enter Russell Crowe as Jack Knife, another mysterious man from the West. Upon his arrival in the town, Jack goes straight to The Pink Blossom,...

The characters in RZA’s directorial debut, Man With the Iron Fists, may seem superhuman with their deadly weapons and phenomenal martial arts skills, but the man who was really doing more than humanly possible would be the director himself. Man With the Iron Fists, RZA’s directorial debut, has the stamp of approval of Quentin Tarantino, who mentored the Wu Tang Clan musician after RZA produced the soundtrack for Tarantino’s Kill Bill. The Kung Fu actioner, which is “presented by” Tarantino, has many of the strengths of good Tarantino film: attention to detail, complicated fight scenes and well-developed, strong characters. Photos: 7 Music to Movie Directors: Michael Bay, David Fincher, Spike Jonze It turns out that one fight scene in the film -- which opens in theaters on Nov. 2 -- was so strong that it really impressed RZA’s mentor. A couple of little curious updates to the ever expanding and apparently litigious Marvel universe, so here we go... Yesterday it was revealed that Frank Grillo had nabbed the villain role of Crossbones in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," but as a few eagle eyes around the internet noticed, Variety's report also revealed that Cobie Smulders -- aka Agent Maria Hill -- has also been listed as part of the cast. No word yet on how big or small her participation will be, but needless to say, Marvel is going ahead and exercising those contract options. But it does suggest that S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to be integral, which isn't a shock considering a TV show is being developed around the agency as well. Meanwhile, it looks like Marvel's laywers have stumbled across their children's hip hop CD collection. As folks may know, Wu Tang Clan member...

The Scientist, Prince Rakeem, The Abbott, Bobby Digital...these are just a few of the names RZA has had over the years as a hip hop artist, music producer and leader of the Wu Tang Clan. But this Friday, he'll get set to add a new name to his repertoire -- Director -- as he unveils "The Man With The Iron Fists." An ambitious, colorful kung fu flick, the likes of which Hollywood hasn't produced in years, it's quite the undertaking, but as this new featurette reveals, RZA had the advice and insight of some pretty notable people to guide him. In "Visualizing The Story," viewers go on set with RZA as he explains the importance of preparation and storyboarding, not just for himself, but for the crew and second and third unit teams, so they can all accurately capture the world he's trying to bring to the big screen.

Anyone who spent their teen years driving around in their mother’s hand-me-down car with the windows rolled down and the Wu Tang Clan blaring on the stereo knows that the RZA, the Gza, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck, the Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God, and the Masta Killa have a deep, abiding love of kung-fu movies. And, in the years since their musical heyday, RZA has taken this love further by composing the score for modern martial arts movies like Ghost Dog and Kill Bill, by trying his hand at being an actor, and even by becoming a director with his upcoming martial arts epic The Man with the Iron Fists. RZA doesn’t plan on stopping there either, apparently his experience directing a movie was so positive that he’s already lined up two more projects. Heat Vision is reporting that the musician turned movie maker has signed on to direct the long-gestating, John Milius...

What’s that, RZA? “The Man With the Iron Fists” will do what now? Oh, it’ll fuck me up? That’s good to know. This is the general premise behind a new, very red band featurette for the Wu Tang Clan mastermind’s directorial debut. An epic, action-packed martial arts flick, no less. Who would’ve thought that? Here’s a synopsis: Since his arrival in China’s Jungle Village, the town’s blacksmith (RZA) has been forced by radical tribal factions to create elaborate tools of destruction. When the clans’ brewing war boils over, the stranger channels an ancient energy to transform himself into a human weapon. As he fights alongside iconic heroes and against soulless villains, one man must harness this power to become savior of his adopted people. The focus of this video is to introduce the various fighters and fighting styles of the characters in...

Maker Studios has recently shown an increased interest in the mainstream music industry, inking a deal with Snoop Dogg/Lion and inviting the Wu Tang Clan's RZA to the studio for a series of guest appearances. This week, Maker continued down this avenue by hiring Amy Finnerty, formerly of MTV, to be their new Senior Vice President of Talent. Finnerty worked for many years at MTV and helped popularize several bands within the network, including a little group from Seattle you might have heard of called Nirvana. She also cocked in as an exec at Loud Records, where she did a large amount of work with the Wu Tang Clan. (We can be almost certain that she was responsible for RZA's appearance at Maker. After all, she did note that she has brought in "old friends and new friends" in her brief time at the studio. I wonder who she could be referring to?...

Wu Tang Clan co-founder RZA has always had a commanding screen presence; I love his bit part alongside Bill Murray in Jim Jarmusch's Coffee and Cigarettes. Now, nine years after that little cameo, RZA is directing his own film, a martial arts movie called The Man With The Iron Fists. As part of the promotional tour, RZA recently stopped by Maker Studios to freestyle through their studios, hang out with some of the Internet's biggest stars and appear as a guest in at least two web series. RZA made an appearance filling in for Ray William Johnson on =3 and presented several viral videos from the previous few weeks. His confident presence allows him to speak lines like "I can count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 motherf**kers luckier than this motherf**ker" and somehow make them sounds informative
