Prepare for a “modern” take on Princess Diana’s wedding dress from 1981. More than 40 years later, Elizabeth Emanuel, who designed the original with David Emanuel, is giving Diana’s wedding dress a “sequel.” And, yes, there will be plenty of “sparkles and pearls.”
Diana’s wedding dress designer is creating a ‘sequel’ with a ‘completely different vision’

Princess Diana‘s wedding dress remains one of the most iconic fashion moments of the 20th century. However, designers Elizabeth and David Emanuel created a secret “backup” wedding dress in case something happened to the original gown. After 43 years, that vision has come to life as Elizabeth unveils the never-before-seen creation for a virtual Princess Diana Museum.
A ‘backup’ wedding dress was ready for Princess Diana in 1981
Princess Diana chose Elizabeth and David Emanuel to design her wedding dress for her 1981 wedding to then Prince Charles. The couple were young, unknown, and stunned that Diana picked them for this iconic royal moment.
However, as they worked with Diana to create the wedding dress of her dreams, Elizabeth envisioned a worst-case scenario. She told People Magazine, “I was a bit neurotic, and I thought, ‘What happens if somebody breaks in and steals the dress or something spills or there’s a fire or it gets stolen?...

Some unexpected drama quietly unfolded at the recent coronation of King Charles III. Amid all the pomp and circumstance at Westminster Abbey, whispers about a not-so-subtle standoff between Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles were making the rounds.
Surprisingly, Kate decided to create a no-curtsy zone around Camilla, which quickly sparked rumors of an impending royal feud. This incident occurred in the midst of reports that Princess Anne had confronted Camilla regarding her title change.

Camilla Parker Bowles and Princess Anne reportedly butted heads at the coronation dinner. Following the highly anticipated ceremonial crowning, Anne allegedly confronted Camilla about her recent change in title.
Leading up to the coronation, Buckingham Palace announced that the royal family was changing her title from queen consort to queen. Royal watchers had mixed reactions to the move, and it sounds like Anne voiced her own disagreement with the changes at the coronation dinner.

When they were alive both Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana were considered fashion icons.
The late monarch, who reigned for 70 years, had a style all her own that was bold, elegant, and full of colors. And her daughter-in-law donned plenty of showstoppers in the ’80s and ’90s from her iconic wedding dress to the “Travolta dress” to her “revenge dress.” While their styles were quite different Diana decided to pay homage to the queen early on in her relationship with Charles but the dress she wore was dubbed as risqué on the princess.

Pablo Larraín’s surreal psychological drama “Spencer” unfolds over a few disquieting days during Christmas 1991, when an unhappy Princess Diana’s (Kristen Stewart) marital troubles with Prince Charles were just starting to surface. That exact timeframe isn’t necessarily reflected on Jacqueline Durran’s diligent costumes — and that’s very much on purpose.
“The brief Pablo gave me at the beginning was, we weren’t working in a specific date,” recalls the two-time Academy Award-winning costume designer in a conversation with IndieWire. “Our period was roughly [from] 1988 to 1992. So we created a wardrobe [without] replicating anything. Because her costumes are [extensively] photographed, somebody somewhere would pinpoint the date quite easily if [we] were to replicate. And whether that [matches] the date in the movie would [have become] a thing.”
Instead of copying garments, Durran mixed different parts of Diana’s known outfits, ensuring that all of her costumes felt like clothing the princess might have worn. It...

"Hello, it's me." So was the greeting that couturier David Emanuel heard on the line on the day his life changed forever. "Hello, me," he replied, as always, when he heard that voice. The voice on the phone belonged to the newly engaged woman who, in a few short months, would become Princess Diana—and she was calling to ask Emanuel if he and his wife at the time, Elizabeth Emanuel, would design her wedding gown. Every designer in the world, let alone England, wanted the job, and the Emanuels may have been the only ones not to send Lady Diana Spencer a portfolio for consideration. David told E! News in an exclusive interview that he gave the future...

With the arrival of Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson) and Lady Diana Spencer (Emma Corrin) in Season 4 of “The Crown,” Emmy-winning costume designer Amy Roberts had two powerhouse women to dress: Great Britain’s first female Prime Minister, who altered the political landscape with her ruthless commitment to deregulation as The Iron Lady, and the storybook princess who humanized the royal family by winning the hearts of her country and the world with grace and compassion.
“Whatever you thought of her politics, what an extraordinary woman Thatcher was,” Roberts said. “We deliberately put her in that vivid blue amongst those posh boy Tories. She was still that same woman that we glimpse in flashbacks [at Somerville College, Oxford]. How remarkable she survived that, up to a point. And what was so brilliant about that part of Diana’s story was that arc as a young, charming, naive, sort of ingénue thrown into the lion’s den.

Thirty-five years ago today, a beautiful young woman named Lady Diana Spencer walked down the aisle at St Paul's Cathedral to wed Prince Charles in what was dubbed the "wedding of the century."The July 29, 1981 ceremony was watched by an estimated global TV audience of 750 million. And a crowd of two million lined the route of Diana's procession from Clarence House to the cathedral to catch a glimpse of the stunning bride. From start to finish, the wedding was every bit the fairy tale. The princess bride arrived to the ceremony in a glass couch, one of the principal horse-drawn...

Some of them may have fallen from grace since, while some have soared up the UK fame ranks. But who were the best champions from their respective series? Here's our just-for-fun, don't-take-it-too-seriously Top 13.
13. Carol Thatcher - Series 5 (2005)

She’s quite the Royal head-turner, and Kate Middleton has definitely won the hearts of the people of the United Kingdom- except for one.
It turns out Queen Elizabeth II is less-than-pleased with some of the Duchess of Cambridge’s ensembles as she believes Kate has been showing too much leg.
Per a Mail on Sunday report, the Queen recently “issued some dictums as to how Kate should be dressed when she tours Australia in April.”
Essentially, Middleton’s skirts will be longer and she’ll wear tiaras and statement jewelry when she greets the residents of the former English penal colony.
A Palace source added that Elizabeth has asked her own personal stylist Angela Kelly to plan Kate’s wardrobe. “Angela has been asked to start selecting jewels ahead of the trip. This trip will be about Kate appearing more Royal than ever – you can expect to see a...

After 22 days in the jungle, royal fashion designer David Emanuel came second in this year's series of I'm a Celebrity. We catch up with the 61-year-old to find out about his jungle experience…
How does it feel to be out of the jungle, David?
"It feels unreal. My jungle experience was magical. It was like a dream. And the dream is now a reality. It's been an amazing journey. I didn't think I could hack it in the beginning, so I'm over the moon to have gone so far."
Why didn't you think you could hack it in the jungle?
"I've watched the show over the years, but I thought we'd do a scene and then have a bacon sandwich break. I thought we'd have a chef in there to cook for us - and I'd never seen the eating trial at the end. It was a shock to go through that.

An I'm a Celebrity viewer has racked up a phone bill of £1,158 voting for Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter to win.
Nicole Hassall spent six hours on the phone after Wednesday night's (December 4) airing of the reality show, repeatedly making calls to ITV's premium-rate voting line, reports The Mirror.
The 18-year-old said: "I did vote but I really wanted Lucy or Kian from Westlife to win.
"I had no idea the bill would be this much. I'm really upset."
Hassall's mother Eileen had initially saved up £250 to spend on her daughter's Christmas present, but will now use that money to pay part of the bill.
Eileen complained that she wasn't notified by network provider Orange about the large bill until Saturday morning (December 7).
She stated: "It's absolutely disgusting that Orange didn't let me know what was happening."
Orange has agreed to waive half of the remaining amount, leaving the family with a £454 bill outstanding.

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! stars Kian Egan and David Emanuel have taken part in the final Bushtucker Trial of this year's series.
The remaining two celebrities tackled the 'Final Feast' Trial in order to win a meal of their choice for their last night in camp.
The Westlife star and the royal fashion designer had to consume four unsavoury dishes each, to be awarded the equivalent luxury course for dinner.
Prior to the Trial, Egan admitted: "It's the one I've been dreading the most, I'm not going to lie.
"Put me in a cage with any animal, hang me out of a helicopter - no problem. But this is the one I feared the most."
For their starters, Emanuel had to eat Cheese fruit fondue - a bowl of blended cheese fruit with King Cricket on the side, while Egan was presented with Tap-ass - ostrich anus in a tapas dish.

The pair were surprised to become the final two contestants left in camp after the public voted for Lucy Pargeter to leave the programme in third place on yesterday's (December 7) show.
Speaking after Lucy's exit, David told Kian that he couldn't understand why he had made the final.

He explained: "I have a fanbase of Westlife fans but nothing like what Joey has - he has over 2 million followers on Twitter, I have 250,000.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! stars Kian Egan, David Emanuel and Lucy Pargeter have taken part in the penultimate Trial of the series.
The 'In A Spin' challenge required the celebrities to sit inside one of three Perspex spinners, with six minutes to collect three stars.
The celebrity in spinner one needed to find one of three Allen keys buried inside a box filled with jungle creatures, before spinning themselves round to pass it to the celebrity in the second spinner.
Once the key had been passed to the third celebrity, they had to match the key with the correct star and unlock it before passing it back through the chain. The first celebrity then had to deposit the star in a box.
Emanuel was joined by snakes in spinner one, while Pargeter was joined by a Lace Monitor Lizard in spinner two. Egan was in spinner three with rats.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star David Emanuel has admitted that he thought the jungle show was staged before taking part this year.
The fashion designer said that he thought the experience "would be a bit of a romp", with people cooking food for the campmates and nights in hotels.
He explained: "I have watched the show before but I thought the whole thing was staged, I didn't think they were going off to a hotel every night but I didn't imagine we'd be sleeping under the stars!

Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter said: "I knew it was going to be hard but my biggest fear was the people ...In previous series there were such massive personalities in here arguing and stuff.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! saw all five remaining stars taking part in the latest Bushtucker Trial.
The 'Celebrity Cyclone' challenge required the celebrities to each make it to a marker, but they had to battle wind and rain to get there.
David Emanuel took five stars to the first marker, while Lucy Pargeter took four of his to make it to the second stage.
Amy Willerton took three of Pargeter's stars but initially missed her marker, slipping down because of the wind and water. However, Emanuel gave her a push to help her get back up.
Joey Essex then managed to get to his spot, but Kian Egan faced a huge gush of water which pushed him, Essex, Willerton and Pargeter back down the slope.
However, after helping each other, all five celebrities made it to the markers despite the wind and rain, and won all five stars for camp.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star Lucy Pargeter admitted that she was "ready to blow" after further disagreements with campmate Amy Willerton.
Pargeter had been in a bad mood already as the other celebrities commented on how sad the departure of Rebecca Adlington and Alfonso Ribeiro was.
"It's so sad that we are here for another f**king day," she complained.
However, she became more annoyed when Willerton suggested an alternative way of cooking the beans, saying: "When we were in Snake Rock we found a fast way of doing them. We boiled them then fried them, and they weren't as nice but they were quick. If you don't want to wait for hours, that's the solution."
Pargeter didn't take kindly to the suggestion, replying: "Well, they tasted like s**t."

Alfonso Ribeiro and Rebecca Adlington have been voted out of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
The pair become the sixth and seventh celebrities to leave the jungle after they finished bottom of the latest public vote.
The result means that Lucy Pargeter, Joey Essex, Kian Egan, Amy Willerton and David Emanuel are the final five celebrities left in this year's series.
Ribeiro - who finished in seventh place - admitted that the voting public had finally given him his "wish" by voting him out.
He said: "I almost lost it back there. I'm so ready to see my wife and Aj. I'm very happy. Thank you for finally giving me my wish."
Asked if he had resigned himself to the fact he may stay, the star replied: "I had finally gotten to that place where I figured I was going to be there until the end, so...

The I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! campmates had to rank how attractive, famous and hardworking they thought they were in a Dingo Dollar challenge.
David Emanuel and Lucy Pargeter were taking part in the task to win a treat for camp.
The pair had to smother themselves in gunk and feathers and retrieve a pile of eggs from under two ostriches.
They then had to create three lineups as to who was the laziest, the most attractive and most famous celebrity left in camp. The others then had to create the same lineup in the camp.
The next category of the hardest working saw arguments with Joey Essex protesting the camp's decision to put him towards the end. He said: "I work well hard, I work very hard in this jungle. I wash dishes, empty the toilet, I do everything. I am nowhere near last."

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star Alfonso Ribeiro broke out his famous Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Carlton dance in an attempt to make himself feel better.
The actor began teaching the other campmates his legendary moves after feeling down in the dumps earlier in the day.
"I feel that this show has taken my spark away," he said. "It has been more difficult than anything I've ever had to do in my life, and it was starting to literally kill me."
David Emanuel admitted that the "fabulous, larger than life character" he originally met had gone, as Ribeiro continued: "I never prepared myself for the difficulty this was.
"This is the first time in my life where I've gone in and winning was not an option. I turned down loads of work when my wife was in her last trimester, but the minute the baby came we...

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! stars won a chance to spend the night in the Jungle Arms recently.
The celebrities were split into teams and took part in a quiz called 'If You Don't Know Me By Now' to win the chance to visit the camp pub, while Laila Morse chose a gold ball from a tombola drum to become the quiz master - who automatically won a ticket.
The blue team consisted of David Emanuel, Joey Essex, Rebecca Adlington, Steve Davis and Vincent Simone, while their rivals, the red team, were Kian Egan, Alfonso Ribeiro, Amy Willerton, Lucy Pargeter and Matthew Wright.
Among the questions were what style of dance Simone is famous for, which year Princess Diana wore the dress Emanuel designed, and which soap Egan's wife was in.
The blue team ended up winning, meaning that they were able to visit the Jungle Arms with Morse.

The remaining I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! campmates have reflected on Annabel Giles's departure from the show last night (December 1).
The former model became the first celebrity to be voted out of this year's series, after spending ten days in the jungle.
Westlife star Kian Egan admitted that he found her exit "a bit upsetting", as she "really didn't want to leave". He suggested that she should have received one of the immunity tokens in recent days.
Emmerdale's Lucy Pargeter praised Giles, adding that she is a "very smart, quick and no-nonsense lady".
Vincent Simone - who entered the camp with Giles - was reduced to tears by her departure.
He said: "I didn't think I was going to be this upset. The fact that me and Annabel joined the camp together obviously made us closer together. Nobody will ever know what it's like to be in that situation.

Steve Davis surprised fellow camp-mates by donning just a palm tree leaf to protect his modesty during a fashion show on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! last night.
The world champion snooker player fashioned the leaf into a loin cloth - similar to Sinitta's infamous X Factor palm leaf bikini - as he took part in the Modesty Smock fashion show in the jungle yesterday (December 1).
He whipped off his white T-shirt to reveal his makeshift attire as he strutted down an imaginary catwalk, with David Emanuel, Laila Morse and Lucy Pargeter sitting on the front row and almost crying with laughter.
Speaking about his risqué outfit, he joked: "From my back-to-basics range - the Adam and Eve collection."
Meanwhile, Matthew Wright was back in his skimpy white bikini as he also took part in the parade - thought up by royal fashion designer Emanuel - along with Amy Willerton,...

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! star Annabel Giles has claimed that Amy Willerton is "playing a game".
The former model was left unhappy when Joey Essex explained the reason why he and his fellow Camp Saviours didn't choose to give her immunity.
Essex told her that Willerton had suggested that she didn't want to stay in the camp and would enjoy a holiday with her daughter.
Giles replied: "I never said that, I wanted to be saved. I've only been here a week haven't I? I didn't say that."
In the Bush Telegraph, she added: "I don't know why she would wish me ill except that perhaps I'm onto her and she knows it. She is playing a game unlike anyone else is. She is very much here to win and she will win and nothing will get in the way of Amy winning."

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! stars Vincent Simone, David Emanuel and Rebecca Adlington have won immunity from the first eviction.
They join Laila Morse, who won immunity yesterday (November 29) when 'camp saviours' Kian Egan and Joey Essex decided to save her.
Amy Willerton joined the boys as another camp saviour after being voted in by the public.
The trio decided who to save after completing a task called 'Gold Mine'.
Each saviour had to fill a coloured cart with 100 gold nuggets that were moving past on a circular train track.
They had two hours to complete the trial and were joined by a number of rats and insects.
Joey managed to fill his cart first, which impressed his team. He said: "I used to play this in the pub when I was a kid, around Chigwell. It was called Chicken Nuggets."
