“The Boys” is beefing up its squad with the addition of cast members Rosemarie DeWitt, Rob Benedict and Elliot Knight in Season 4. The Prime Video superhero spoof series will also see the return of Simon Pegg, who portrayed Hughie’s father in earlier seasons and who will be joined by DeWitt, taking on the role of the Jack Quaid character’s mom.
No character details were revealed for Benedict and Knight. Previously announced additions to the upcoming fourth season are Susan Heyward (playing “Sister Sage”), Valorie Curry (portraying “Firecracker”) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as recurring guest star. Cameron Crovetti, who plays Homelander’s easily influenced son, has also been upped to series regular.

So, there’s this History Channel show, right? No, it's not about anything remotely historical. No, there isn’t much in the way of reenactments. Nope, no aliens or Nazis or Nazi aliens. It’s a show featuring Stan Lee and Daniel Browning Smith about people from all over the world who have extraordinary abilities and gifts. Smith, who is one of, if not the most flexible man in the world, travels the globe talking to people who can conduct electricity through their bodies, high-dive into inches of water and other feats of ridiculousness that would otherwise kill mortal men and women.

Stan Lee’s Superhumans features only a meager dose of the comic medium’s foremost impresario and all-around geezer. The show is held together by the flimsy premise of Stan Lee letting loose Daniel Browning Smith - “the world's most flexible man” – to scour the globe for “superhumans”. Their powers (and our interest) fluctuate between "Ultra Marathon Man," whose body subverts fatigue and keeps him on the go permanently, and "Future Man," a purported future-seer whose segment is frustratingly inconclusive.
These are two of the thirty-two individuals (all male – it’s true, there’s no female superhumans in the world, I checked) we meet across eight episodes in Season 1 of this History Channel-produced show. Stan Lee shows up to bridge gaps and introduce where Smith will be heading to next, and to close out the segment. That’s all well and good, but beside these essential cameos, what does...

Recently we shared a look at real-life costumed heroes, relative to the premise of Kick-Ass. At the time, I recalled Stan Lee's old competitive reality series Who Want's to be a Superhero? On the show, contestants like Feedback and The Defuser (who won their respective seasons) were just normal, non-super-powered folk who could design a fancy outfit and attempt to display the characteristics of a hero deserving of his own Dark Horse comic book. Lee also developed a British version for kid superheroes. Now the legendary creator of Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and many other Marvel characters is onto his next reality series idea, this one involving real-life X-Men.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee will co-host a program called Stan Lee's Superhumans for the History Channel. A sort of inverse to his previous idea, this show will feature "genetically different" people, not necessarily who'd like to or...

NBC gets the Emmy Awards this year, and they've pretty much only got one guy in-house suitable for the role of host that isn't completely loathed by a large percentage of people. That guy is Jimmy Fallon, who has come out of the late-night wars remarkably unscathed, and a little better for it. (The Wrap)
Speaking of Jimmy Fallon, don't hold it against me, but I actually saw this when the show aired the other night -- a rap duet between Fallon and Gwyneth Paltrow. Don't look now, but Paltrow comes off as thoroughly likable. You can maybe put down the pitchforks until after Iron Man 2 has finished its run?
Good news for Olyphant fans (all of you): F/X has officially done picked up "Justified" for another season. (THR)

A wise man named Peter Parker once said, "with great power comes great responsibility." And in today's world, perhaps no power is greater than than the ability to shape culture through the omnipotent medium of television. Now History Channel has embraced their responsibility to use this power for good by enlisting Peter Parker's creator himself: Stan Lee.
Yes, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Stan Lee, creator of such legendary comic book characters as Spider-man, Hulk, X-Men and the Fantastic Four, will be getting his own History Channel series. Titled 'Superhumans,' the series will "find people who have remarkable abilities because of being genetically different" and will feature Lee as co-shot alongside the world's most flexible man, Daniel Browning Smith.

History is teaming with comic book icon Stan Lee for a series that finds real-life X-Men.
As part of a slate of new shows, the "X-Men" creator will co-host "Stan Lee's Superhumans," which will find people who have remarkable abilities because of being genetically different. Daniel Browning Smith, dubbed the world's most flexible man, will host the series with Lee.
"Superhumans" will debut on the network during the third quarter and is joined by five other series and a slew of specials being greenlighted in time for the network's upfront presentation to advertisers this week.
History's previously announced miniseries "The Kennedys" and its U.S. version of "Top Gear" are expected to be the headliners of the network's presentation, but the network also has a trio of new reality shows from prolific "Ice Road Truckers" producer Thom Beers.
The first, "Around the World in 80 Ways," could serve as a "Top Gear" companion.

I'm a little over halfway through an advanced copy of Anthony E. Zuiker's novel Level 26 that was given out at Comic-Con last month. And I can honestly say that this latex wearing contortionist killer ("Sqweegel") has officially creeped me out. It's one thing when you read a crime novel and are limited to your own mind's imagery of the twisted killings. But when you mix that with interstitial video episodes, you get those perverse contorting images burned into your retinas. Don't say I didn't warn you. Zuiker, most known for creating the megahit procedural crime drama franchise CSI, has made the move into two mediums he hasn't touched—publishing and web television. Ok, it's really three if you count his surprisingly formidable start to his blogging career on the Level 26 site. It's everything you don't normally get from Hollywood players—refreshingly candid and actively updated by the man himself.
