Sebastian Stan is back at Sundance this year for the world premiere of A24’s “A Different Man,” co-starring Adam Pearson and Renate Reinsve. The three actors joined director Aaron Schimberg at the Variety Studio presented by Audible to discuss the film, which centers on an aspiring actor with a facial disability who undergoes a radical medical procedure to transform his appearance that proves to be his downfall.
Stan told Variety’s Matt Donnelly that “A Different Man” was shot in only 22 days. To appear in scenes with a facial disability, Stan was in the makeup chair for “probably one-and-a-half to two hours.” Pearson, a British actor with neurofibromatosis who is best known for his role in “Under the Skin,” hopes “A Different Man” gives cinema new kind of representation for actors with facial disabilities.
“Normally there are three kinds of roles or tropes for us,” Pearson said. “We’re...

Dominic Fike appeared at the Variety Studio presented by Audible while attending the Sundance Film Festival and compared his experiences playing a character struggling with drug addiction on HBO’s “Euphoria” and his new Sundance premiere, “Little Death.” The latter title marks the feature directorial debut of music video helmer Jack Begert, who happens to be one of Fike’s friends.
Fike has been open in the past about his real-life addiction struggles, so his proximity to Berget made playing a drug addiction in “Little Death” a bit easier than playing one in “Euphoria.”
“I’ve done that before, like acted like a drug addict,” Fike said. “I actually am a pretty big drug addict myself, believe it or not. When I was on ‘Euphoria,’ they kind of just gave me a coach who would just talk to you. It was just some random lady. Jack is one of my...

Jesse Eisenberg is officially giving his Lex Luthor advice to Nicholas Hoult, and it’s blunt: “Don’t watch me!”
During an interview at the Variety Studio presented by Audible while attending the Sundance Film Festival, Eisenberg suggested Hoult should forge his own path and not pay attention to Eisenberg’s own work as Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s DC Universe.
“Whenever you play a role you feel connected to it,” Eisenberg added to Variety‘s Matt Donnelly about playing the DC villain for a short time. “There’s no way around it. Any time you do anything, even if it’s a movie that’s a Hollywood kind of thing, you connect.”

Deadline Hollywood: Nikki Finke says that her sources at Disney and its rival studios both believe that “Tangled,” Disney’s 50th animated motion picture, had a huge opening day yesterday and will greatly exceed most box-office projections for the 5-day holiday weekend. Analysts had forecasted a cumulative take of $35-$40 million, but a Disney competitor said that early data shows that the number will be “much bigger than expected,” and sources at Disney believe that it will wind up in the high $60s when all is said and done on Sunday.

Yesterday brought us a huge barage of Real Housewives news and updates, so I kindly waited until all the hoopla died down before I could get all the facts straight. Now let’s jet set across the country and see what Bravo’s Real Housewives have been up to.
New York
• First and foremost, Bethenny Frankel has left the cast of The Real Housewives of New York. ” don’t see any reason to go back,” she told Us Weekly exclusively. “Last season was scary and painful. It took all the joy out of it.” However, Bethenny will still make appearances on the show (for contractual reasons), which was finally renewed today for a fourth season today. Bethenny will return to a second season of her popular spin-off, Bethenny Getting Married (which I think should be changed to something else since she tied the knot, but alas).
• In other news, Ramona Singer...

Movie Trailers – Movies Blog In the Los Angeles Times, Melissa Rosenberg talks with Matt Donnelly about the difficult, painful, bloody birth of Renesmee (will she be a cgi creation?) — the interspecies daughter of human Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), and the object of werewolf Jacob Black’s imprinting (Taylor Lautner). in Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn. "On the fan site, on Facebook, all the comments are, ‘It has to be R rated! You have to show the childbirth! Gore and guts and sex!’ For me it’s actually more interesting to not see it. You know, you can do childbirth without seeing childbirth. … It doesn’t mean it’s any less evocative of an experience." Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon screenwriter Rosenberg is adapting Breaking Dawn for the screen — Oscar winner Bill Condon will direct the movie version, to be split into two...

More evidence that Gwen has a bun in the oven!
We’ve been on Gwen Stefani bump watch since April 16, and now the La Times is reporting the rocker mom made a visit to her Ob/Gyn today, May 19. Does this mean the Rossdale-Stefani clan is Officially having its third child?!
“Our spotter said Stefani, sans husband Gavin Rossdale, was looking gorgeous for her appointment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where her boys Kingston and Zuma were both delivered,” the La Times’ Matt Donnelly says.
Recently the 40-year-old singer and fashion designer has also been seen sporting Sea Bands, which help curb morning sickness. Plus, Gwen – mom to sons, Kingston, 3, and Zuma, 20 months — has said she’d love to have a little girl to round out her brood.
Sources say Gwen is due sometime this fall…we hope congratulations are in order!

Matt Donnelly of The La Times' Ministry of Gossip blog finally reached the "Golden Girl" on the phone on Monday, where she acknowledged knowing about the Facebook fan page, telling him, "I don't know where that came from... That came out of left field. I understand they've had all of these hits."
When asked if she'd so "SNL," she responded, "That would be up to Lorne Michaels."

If you thought Dakota’s onscreen kiss with Kristen Stewart was shocking, steel yourself for another surprise: the 16-year-old nearly went full-frontal in her new movie!
We wonder if Dakota Fanning knew she was in for such a racy role when she decided to play The Runaways lead singer Cherie Curie. If director Floria Sigismondi had her way, Dakota would have gone topless!
“If I used an 18-year-old, I could’ve maybe had her topless….just to give it a little more reality,” Floria tells Matt Donnelly of LATimes.com. “There were a lot of things I couldn’t do that I wanted to do.” Meaning, we assume, that if she had been two years older, we would have been seeing a whole lot more of north Dakota than ever before.
One thing the director Did do was instigate an onscreen smooch between Dakota and her co-star, Twilight’s Kristen Stewart,...

Did you find Brittany and Simon to be an … unusual pairing? If so, you’re not the only one.
Simon may have been deeply in love with his wife, but former New York Post reporter Matt Donnelly found the two to be the ultimate odd couple.
“They were a strange pair,” said Donnelly, who is now the writer of the Los Angeles Times’ Ministry of Gossip column, on Dec 21. “Hollywood via London via Outer Space. But they were in love.”
Donnelly, who hung out with the couple during the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, recalls that the pair declined to address or comment on the nasty rumors that had been swarming them since their 2007 wedding — specifically that Simon’s visa conveniently expired when they tied the knot and that he allegedly had multiple debts.
But Brittany’s husband opened up to Donnelly, revealing one particularly interesting tidbit about their marriage: Simon said...

Another week, another slew of magazine covers about that Brangelina-Jen thing. Why does the media keep harping on it? I'm bored. —Alina, New York No, you're not. How do I know? Because readers like you cannot stop buying magazines with BrangelAniston on the cover. Jennifer Aniston, that poor, dumped cheerleader, was the top-selling cover face of the first half of 2007, according to Forbes. And since then she has continued to make the media plenty of cash every time she opens her reedy little nonexistent lips. "Jennifer Aniston's first tell-all, after her divorce, remains Vanity Fair's best-selling issue ever," says Matt Donnelly, a wayward B!tchling of mine who has since fled...
