Celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian will host a Thanksgiving-themed telethon on Fox-owned stations in major markets on Nov. 25 to raise money for food rescue organizations City Harvest and No Kid Hungry.
“The Great American Foodathon Presented by Citi” will feature performances by John Legend, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, JoJo and Dennis Quaid, as well as appearances by Drew Barrymore, Whoopi Goldberg, Guy Fieri, Tyra Banks, Katie Couric, Blake Shelton, Patti Labelle and Kelly Ripa.
“This has been a challenging year for many Americans,” said Zakarian, a City Harvest board member and chair of its food council. “On the eve of Thanksgiving, let’s raise a lot of money to help feed the many families across our country that are struggling to put a meal on the table right now for their children. There will be laughs, maybe some tears, and a lot of Thanksgiving cooking tips along the way.”

Big-hearted celebrity chefs Sandra Lee, Ming Tsai and Donatella Arpaia have two things in common. The first is that they all came from modest roots. The other is that they all made it their life-long missions to give back, helping others less fortunate than themselves. Now the trio’s charitable work — through organizations like Unicef, Family Reach, City Harvest and God’s Love We Deliver — is highlighted tonight on TLC and Discovery Family Channel in an hour-long special, Unichef: Uniting Through Food. The show is based on the best-selling cookbook of the same name by Hilary Gumbel, with all royalties given to...read more...

Chicken wings, pizza, burgers and other high-calorie foods are generally the run of the mill when it comes to Super Bowl party grub. While all of those comfort foods can taste delicious, they can also be greasy, high in fat and pack on the pounds if you're not careful. So, why not try something different at this year's big football bash? Bud Light Hotel chef Donatella Arpaia gave us the lowdown on a couple of Super Bowl snack ideas that are healthier and higher quality than those at a typical game day feast. "I think Super Bowl food often is low quality, and I think you can make great sliders, but high quality, using local ingredients in season and you can do a great job," Chef...

Donatella Arpaia celebrated her first Mother's Day this year and revealed how she was planning on spending her day.
"Almost every year I have hosted by family at one of my restaurants, but this is my first year celebrating Mother's Day as a mother myself, so it's all about creating new traditions!" The Next Iron Chef judge said. "My husband told me that we would go up to our weekend home the night before because in the morning he and my 6-month-old are going to make me waffles. Afterward we will likely brunch with my mom and then dinner with my mother-in-law; perhaps one of those will be at Donatella!"
When it comes to larger family gatherings, Arpaia gets her Diy on and makes sure the table setting is perfect for the occasion.
"I love setting the table for special occasions," she said. "For holidays where all the kids are involved,...

Worst Cooks in America is like a poker player who yanks her left ear, coughs twice, then winks every time she gets an ace in her hand. Last week, we saw good-natured Carlos suddenly get the “competitive beast” edit as a way to make palatable his elimination and Joshie’s advance to the Red Team championship. And on last night’s season finale, when the lovely and consistent Georg started spouting less-than-gracious opinions about her chances of taking home the $25,000 grand prize, you knew she was gonna get as burnt as the sear on one of Joshie’s pork chops.

Things got positively nasty on last night’s Top Chef, and I’m not just talking about the lying, strategizing, and former foes showing up.
To kick things off, the episode opened with duck testicles – and Angelo in a backwards hat that looked more like a surgery cap. And then it dawned on me that Angelo bears somewhat of a resemblance to Dr. Robert Rey from E!’s Dr. 90210, and we all know that if Angelo was any kind of doctor, he’d be a plastic surgeon.
