Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony shocked many when they announced their split last Friday.
The couple, who had been married for 7 years, actually have a history that dates back to their youth when they dated. Now as they split the rumors are running rampant as to the cause.
Here are a few of the rumors that we've heard and our take on them:
1. Marc was too controlling. He didn't like her wardrobe choices. "This is not a surprise," says J-Lo's stylist Phillip Bloch. "Marc is very controlling. In the beginning she liked that because he stood up to her, and in the early days he was very much in love with her and she was with him."
Our take: This isn't the first time talk of Anthony's controlling attitude has gotten attention. In 2009, he got himself into hot water after slapping a reporter's camera away while Lopez was giving...

Marc tried to have this upper hand in his marriage to Jennifer. Is this a fatal flaw?
It’s sad and shocking, but after seven years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez and hubby Marc Anthony are calling it quits. Although the two always seemed very in love, there were serious problems afoot. One pal admits that the marriage didn’t work because Marc tried to control his wife. Should you ever let a man do the same to you, even if you’re totally in love?
The couple ended things right before J. Lo met Prince William and Kate Middleton at the July 9 BAFTA Brits to Watch event in Los Angeles.

J-Lo ditched Marc because he was controlling — and bad with money!
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony‘s divorce has shaken the world, but many people close to the famous diva claim they’re not surprised she ditched Marc!
Jennifer, 41, ended things with Marc, 42, right before her appearance with Prince William and Kate Middleton at the July 9 BAFTA Brits to Watch event in Los Angeles, the Daily Mail reports.
“This is not a surprise,” Jennifer’s stylist Phillip Bloch tells the publication. ”Marc is very controlling. In the beginning she liked that because he stood up to her, and in the early days he was very much in love with her and she was with him.”
Marc’s attitude only exacerbated other issues, such as her mother moving into their Long Island home in 2008 to help tend to their children. But like many other Hollywood marriages, the split became immediate due to money and their careers.

Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband Ojani Noa was left stunned when he learned he'd be living across the road from the Duke & Duchess Of Cambridge this weekend (09-10Jul11).
The former waiter has been living at an ex-girlfriend's home in Hancock Park, Los Angeles and couldn't believe all the fuss going on in his neighbourhood on Friday, prior to the royal couple's arrival in California.
Noa's business manager Ed Meyer tells WENN, "He didn't even know the British consulate's home was right across the road until he went out to greet friends arriving for a pool party on Friday and there were S.W.A.T. cars and police everywhere.
"He lives next door to the home Patricia Arquette is renovating, so there has been quite a bit of chaos around there for weeks - but this was just over the top.
"Every time he went outside with a camera in the hope of getting a shot of his weekend neighbours, he was surrounded by police and security."
But the excitement of living across the road from the royals was wrecked when Noa realised the newlyweds would be meeting his ex-wife at a glitzy Hollywood function on Saturday night.
He is locked in a legal battle with Lopez over intimate home video footage he shot of their courtship and marriage.
Meyer adds, "That p**sed him off no end. The royals would be rubbing shoulders with his ex-wife at a big party and he couldn't get close, even though he's a neighbour."...

Jennifer Lopez thinks it is "horrible" her first husband is trying to sell a "personal" video
The 41-year-old singer's former partner Ojani Noa – who she split with after less than a year of marriage in 1998 – has been banned from releasing the tape, which reportedly contains 27 hours of footage, and she admits it is upsetting he would try to in the first place, but says it is not a "sex tape".
She told Culture magazine: "My first husband has tapes of us from our life. It's horrible. It's horrible someone would try to sell personal things, but there's nothing on it. There's no sex tape."

An intimate video of Jennifer Lopez with her ex-husband Ojani Noa has been allegedly stolen. His current girlfriend Claudia Vazquez has been in possession of the data drive which contains the footage, but she now claims Ed Meyer - Ojani's manager - has taken it from her house without permission. Jennifer Lopez's lawyers have blocked her ex-husband's girlfriend from selling intimate footage from the former couple's honeymoon to Internet porn sites.
Producer Claudia Vasquez, who now owns the rights to the home video clips, urged an appeals judge to overturn a ruling preventing Ojani Noa from selling the saucy footage - claiming the order restricts her from doing business.
But on Monday, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge decided to keep the restraining order in place, ruling that the footage cannot be released without Lopez's authority.
Last week (ends03Jun11), Noa's manager Ed Meyer told WENN he had received a number of offers from porn sites for the home video, but he insisted the footage did not constitute a sex tape.
Lopez initially won a ruling against Noa when he suggested he would be using the footage as the basis for a TV series about his life. The singer also won a judgement against Noa that prevented her first husband from releasing intimate details from their courtship and marriage in a tell-all book.

Jennifer Lopez is not done in the fight to prevent her intimate videos from becoming public consumption. She is heading back to court on Monday, June 6 to stop the sale of her honeymoon footage to porn sites by her first husband Ojani Noa and his partner slash girlfriend, Claudia Vazquez.
Lopez had once lost in the court battle when a judge determined that, while Noa and his manager Ed Meyer are forbidden to profit off of the Lopez footage, she is not allowed to interfere with Vasquez's right to make a living. Noa indeed sold the tape to Vazquez who then offered it for the highest bidder this week.
Not exactly containing a sex scene, the 27-hour home video is taken from Lopez and Noa's 1997 honeymoon. Since it has no porn value, adult sites such as PornHub.com are reportedly only bidding around $40,000 for the tape. Vazquez's lawyer, however, said...

Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband Ojani Noa continues to haunt her life thirteen years after their divorce. Their honeymoon tape that Noa sold to current girlfriend Claudia Vazquez to release for commercial purpose has sparked a bidding war among big porn studios such as Red Light District, YouPorn.com and PornHub.com.
These companies are bidding only around $40,000 for the tape because it doesn't actually contain sex scenes. It was shot back in 1997, a year before their divorce, containing "J. Lo's rise to fame, and her marriage to Ojani" as well as "nudity on her part in the now 21 hours of home movies". It went to Noa's possession and later to Vazquez's.
Lopez tried to block the release but a judge in Los Angeles court ruled that she had no case. "Claudia will be meeting with video distributors on Tuesday, and hopefully a deal can be made very soon," Noa's agent Ed Meyer said last week.

Charlie Sheen's lawyer has blasted a TV producer who is suing the Two And A Half Men star over a failed reality show, branding the complaint the "most ridiculous lawsuit" he's ever come across.
Ed Meyer is taking legal action against Sheen over claims the actor and his parents, Martin and Janet, conspired to "threaten, interfere with and restrain" the series, which was to feature Sheen's uncle Joe Estevez.
In the legal papers, the plaintiff claims he has been "damaged" by the defendants' alleged "wrongful acts", which have prevented him from moving forward with the project, called Being Sheen.
Meyer, who alleges he has been trying to get Being Sheen off the ground since April 2010, is asking for at least $20 million (£13.3 million) in damages.
But Sheen's attorney Marty Singer is convinced he'll be able to get the case thrown out, telling the Hollywood Reporter, "This is the most ridiculous lawsuit I have ever seen in my 30-year career. My client doesn't even know who this person is. I'm confident the case will be dismissed."...

Jennifer Lopez has urged a judge to dismiss a $$10m (£6m) lawsuit brought against her for blocking production of a biopic about her ex-husband Ojani Noa. The 'On The Floor' singer was sued by Noa, Claudia Vasquez and producer Ed Meyer after she took out an injunction to prevent the story of her first marriage reaching the big screen. Vasquez has since claimed that the move prevented her from producing and marketing How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The J.Lo And Ojani Noa Story, which reportedly includes footage of the American Idol judge "in sexual situations". Lopez argued in new legal papers that the film would damage her reputation, parody her relationship with Noa and release private information about her lifestyle at the time. Ace Showbiz quotes the 41-year-old as writing: "I believe that Noa's (more)...

Jennifer Lopez is urging a Los Angeles judge to dismiss a $10 million lawsuit filed against her for allegedly interfering in a movie project the singer insists would damage her reputation and career. Claudia Vazquez claims Lopez has prevented her from making a comedy based on the story of the star's first husband Ojani Noa's life, but the singer insists the movie would parody her marriage and reveal information she'd rather not be made public.
Lopez has already won an injunction to stop Noa and film producer Ed Meyer from moving forward with the film, which reportedly features home video footage, and Vazquez claims the action has hindered her ability to produce and market the project.
In new legal papers, requesting a dismissal, Lopez writes, "I believe that Noa's and Meyer's dissemination of private and intimate details about me, whether true or fabricated, and my alleged relationship with Noa and...

The Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando Odditorium has acquired a life-size statue of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator that doubles as a tribute to the film industry and its biggest stars. The piece, by artist Enrique Ramos, took five months to create and uses a variety of media — “even a real vampire bat!” says the release — and will be accompanied by a motorcycle when it moves to Ripley’s Hollywood Odditorium later this year. Edward Meyer, Ripley’s VP of Exhibits and Archives, describes the statue as Ramos’ opus, “his 9th Symphony — both in complexity, detail, and historic scope.

Charlie Sheen is facing another legal headache - a TV producer is suing him for wrecking plans for a family reality show.
According to a lawsuit Ed Meyer plans to file in Los Angeles later this week (ends04Mar11), Sheen and his parents did "intentionally and tortuously interfere and restrain, and conspire to interfere and restrain" with the plaintiff's reality TV show Being Sheen, which was to feature the actor's uncle Joe Estevez.
In the suit, obtained by WENN, Meyer claims he has been trying to get the project off the ground since April 2010 and even started negotiations with the creator of Sheen's Two and a Half Men sitcom, Chuck Lorre, with a view to landing a role in the show for Estevez - as part of the reality programme.
In the legal papers, the plaintiff claims he has been "damaged" by the defendants' alleged "wrongful acts", which have prevented him from moving forward with the project.
Meyer is suing Sheen for restraint of trade and interference. He is asking for at least $20 million (£13.3 million) in damages.

Charlie Sheen has yet another problem ... he's going to be sued for allegedly derailing an attempt to replace Charlie with his estranged uncle on " Two and a Half Men ." The suit claims Charlie and his dad, Martin Sheen, along with his mom, Janet, conspired to "interfere and restrain" Chuck Lorre from replacing Charlie with Joe Estevez -- Charlie's estranged uncle. Charlie Sheen again?! Relax, it's not totally about the troubled actor, but more about his estranged uncle Joe Estevez. It turns out that Estevez is trying to use his nephew's (soon) disappearance from Two and a Half Men to his advantage. As if without any hesitation, the wannabe actor's manager, Ed Meyer, shoots a letter out to the big heads of the CBS sitcom saying, "just a wild thought...How about a test episode of Two and a Half Men, where Joe [Estevez] comes to housesit while Charlie is on 'vacation'. Your writers could have a ball with this." He also mentions that Estevez is "by far the funniest of the Sheen and Estevez clan." And also the most...

Imagine you’re a young singer just trying to make it in the entertainment world, when all of a sudden someone tells you that you can make a fortune if only you star in a video where you’re scantily clad and writhing around, all sweaty, grunty and short of breath. Of course you’d say yes, this is L.A. But then you’d come to regret it, and try to prevent the public release of this tape years later. That’s exactly what Jessica Simpson is doing with an exercise tape she filmed in 2005. Wait, you didn’t think it was a sex tape did you? Get your mind out of the gutter.
Simpson made a workout video six years ago for a company called Speedfit, but once it was finished, she blocked the release of said tape because she felt it “was not good enough to be sold.

A fitness video featuring Jessica Simpson is set to go public, despite the pop star's efforts to keep it off shelves. The singer fronted the project for exercise company Speedfit, but she didn't like the finished result and filed legal papers to keep the DVD from being sold.
But now a Hollywood producer has bought the rights to the video - and he's challenging Simpson and her handlers to stop him from making it public. In a defiant letter to Simpson's lawyers, obtained by WENN, the new owner, Ed Meyer, writes, "After much due diligence, I have purchased rights to distribute the as yet unreleased Jessica Simpson Exercise Video from Speedfit."
"While your client Jessica Simpson believes that she has a valid New York court order preventing such a contract, she actually does not." Meyer insists his contract with Speedfit is "valid", and he has threatened Simpson with legal action...

If this isn’t the ultimate “Don’t Date Him, Girl” story, we don’t know what is. Apparently the girlfriend of JLo’s ex-husband Ojani Noa Claudia Vasquez is seeking a restraining order against Jennifer Lopez. Vasquez is reportedly filing for the order today to facilitate a planned television project about the America Idol judge. If granted the restraining order, Vasquez can lobby to have it made permanent, a move that could potentially hinder JLo’s ability to stop production from continuing. Given that Vasquez and Ojani have attempted to make public video of Lopez flashing strangers on a scooter, something tells us that JLo would sooner destroy television as we know it than let these two use her image in anything. So enjoy those episode of Modern Family while you can!
In the meantime Vasquez is also suing Lopez for $10 million for stopping production of a movie which,...

Jennifer Lopez just can't seem to escape her creepy ex husband Ojani Noa. He's making trouble for her once again and this time the IRS is involved. Noa was questioned under oath by IRS investigators on October 7, 2010 and asked specifically about a discrepancy concerning payments J.Lo made to him, according to Ed Meyer, who represents Noa. "The IRS told Noa that the 1099 form J.Lo submitted to them was almost double what he put down that she paid him," Meyer told Radaronline. I know what you're thinking, 'why the hell is J.Lo...

Lopez, who secured an injunction against a tell-all book Noa was peddling several years ago, sued Hubby No. 1 and his manager Ed Meyer last year over their movie plans.
