Exclusive: Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham may be railing against the dangers of the coronavirus and the surging Delta variant, but their bosses and some of their colleagues are singing a very different tune.
As the breakdown between the vaccinated and unvaccinated increasingly reflect political perspectives in the pandemic and conjecture over cable news, Fox corporate is embracing the letter and spirit of both the science and recently introduced mask mandates in L.A. County.
“Los Angeles County will re-implement a face covering mandate, effective July 18,” said an email sent out Friday to all Fox staff in the region. “Masks will be required indoors across Los Angeles County, including at Fox locations, regardless of your vaccination status beginning Sunday morning,” the brief note stated (bold emphasis was in the original Fox email).

Donald Trump went through a reality TV-like “medical evaluation” with Dr. Marc Siegel on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight, and claimed that he was medication free and that he was recently retested for Covid-19.
“I haven’t found out numbers or anything yet, but I have been retested and I know that I am at either of the bottom of the scale or free,” Trump said in his first on-camera interview since testing positive for the coronavirus on Oct. 1.
But there still were a number of questions that were unanswered, in part because Siegel didn’t ask them. Chief among them was when Trump last tested negative before he tested positive for the coronavirus last week. That is information that the White House has declined to release.
Trump’s appearance was billed as an on-camera “medical evaluation,” with Siegel asking about the president’s symptoms and recovery. But the segment largely was a traditional interview.

Donald Trump called into Rush Limbaugh’s radio show on Friday for what was billed as a “rally,” and it turned into a two-hour marathon of media bashing, insistence that there is a Covid-19 cure, and a reversal on where the president stands on another coronavirus relief package.
As he did on previous interviews, Trump called for indictments of political rivals, and chided his attorney general, William Barr, for reports that he would not finish an investigation of the Mueller investigation until after the election.
Trump also bashed Fox News, as he has done before, arguing that the network “is a much different thing that it was four years ago. Somebody said, ‘What is the biggest difference? I said the biggest difference is Fox.”
He singled out Paul Ryan, the former House speaker, who is a member of the board of directors of Fox Corp.

President Donald Trump will give his first on-camera interview since testing positive for the coronavirus, with a scheduled appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight that includes a medical evaluation by Dr. Marc Siegel.
Trump will appear remotely from the White House, where he has been since Monday recovering from Covid-19. Siegel also will do the interview with the president.
On Thursday, Trump gave two call-in interviews. He did an interview with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo, and later appeared on Fox News’ Hannity. The latter appearance did draw some attention because the president’s voice at times cleared his throat and coughed. He nevertheless said that he was feeling “great,” and that he was going to try and hold a rally on Saturday night in Florida. White House physician Sean Conley wrote in a note released on Thursday that he anticipates Trump’s “safe return to public engagements” on Saturday. But Conley...

(Updated with New York Times statement) “We’re off last week, it’s good to be back,” declared a plucky Tucker Carlson at the outset tonight of his Fox News Channel show.
And if viewers or critics were expecting the top-rated host to dive into controversies like a new lawsuit that alleges sexual harassment and retaliation by Carlson, they were barking up the wrong cable news tree. Neither that just filed complaint from former Fox Business Network associate producer Jennifer Eckhart and former Fnc guest Cathy Areu nor one of Tucker Carlson Tonight’s top and now ex-writers being exposed on July 11 for frequently posting racist, sexist and homophobic comments on a legal message board made the polemic cut on Fnc on Monday.
What did make the cut was a sharp bombardment of a major media rival that has never had many fans in Rupert Murdoch’s empire.
