Suits, a long-running mainstay on cable’s USA Network that became a streaming phenomenon last year, will make its broadcast debut this fall on MyNetwork TV.
The show’s slot in Fox’s Monday-through-Friday syndicated programming block, which reaches 97% of U.S. TV homes, will mark the first time it will be available on free television. A premiere date has not yet been announced.
The legal drama, which premiered on USA Network in 2011, became a streaming phenomenon when it landed on Netflix and NBCUniversal’s Peacock in 2023. Even though the Netflix run was non-exclusive (the show’s full nine seasons can only be streamed on Peacock), it racked up viewing minutes in the tens of billions and broke a number of Nielsen records. The surge of interest led to NBCU and creator Aaron Korsh to plot out an entire Suits universe, with new iteration Suits: L.A. landing a pilot order last February.

As “Suits” continues to overperform as a streaming acquisition on Netflix, the hit legal drama is finally coming to broadcast TV. Primetime programming service MyNetwork TV has picked up an off-network run of “Suits” for this fall, making its broadcast TV debut.
The pickup was announced Monday by Frank Cicha, executive VP of programming for Fox Television Stations. “It’s become increasingly more difficult, if not impossible, to launch obscure product on broadcast TV. ‘Suits’ is arguably the most buzzworthy scripted series of the last half decade, and MyNet looks forward to amplifying its success by introducing it to the broadcast television audience. And we’re discussing some fun ways to do just that.”
“Suits,” created by Aaron Korsh, originally ran on USA Network for nine seasons (and 134 episodes) between 2011 and 2019. NBCUniversal Syndication Studios distributes the series to broadcast; this is believed to be the first time a series started...

The “Suits” spinoff, “Suits: LA” has landed a pilot order at NBCUniversal. Production is scheduled to start in late March in Vancouver.
The new iteration will follow Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, who has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. “His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved,” reads the logline.

NBCUniversal’s expansion of the Suits universe is taking another step forward.
Following the runaway success of the former USA Network legal drama on streaming platforms last year, NBC has ordered a pilot for a companion series. The project, from Suits creator Aaron Korsh, is called Suits: L.A. and will be set in the same world as the original show — but will follow a new group of characters.
Universal Studio Group’s UCP, which produced the original, is also behind the Los Angeles-set spinoff. The studio and Korsh started developing the project in October, following Suits’ massive summertime run at the top of the streaming charts after it was added to Netflix (the series also streams on NBCU’s Peacock platform). At the time, it wasn’t clear where the project would land, although somewhere within NBCU was most likely. With USA largely out of the scripted business, NBC became the pilot’s home.

Exclusive: Film and TV helmer Victoria Mahoney has been tapped to direct Suits: L.A., NBC’s proposed Suits offshoot, which has been heating up for a pilot order.
As Deadline reported exclusively in October, the project, from Suits creator Aaron Korsh, is not a revival or reboot of the popular USA Network series and, unlike the 2019 Pearson, the new legal procedural is not a spinoff either — it would be a Suits universe series in the vein of the CSI and NCIS franchises featuring new characters in a new location, Los Angeles.
Like Suits, which was set in New York and filmed in Toronto, Suits: L.A. also will film in Canada, with Vancouver standing in for Los Angeles. Production is slated to begin in March, I hear.
Korsh executive produces alongside David Bartis, Doug Liman and Gene Klein, who were EPs with him on the original series.

Suits fans, rejoice. There’s a chance, albeit a small one, that Meghan Markle may someday reopen the Suits chapter of her life. The Duchess of Sussex, who hasn’t acted since marrying Prince Harry in 2018, has reportedly already had “discussions” about a potential Suits reunion.
Meghan would reportedly ‘consider’ taking part in a ‘Suits’ reunion
In the wake of Suits breaking streaming records when it hit Netflix in the summer of 2023, talk of Meghan returning to the USA legal series, which she left after the season 7 finale, ensued. Now, more than six months after the resurgence of Suits, which ended in 2019, there’s been talk of a reunion not unlike the 2021 Friends reunion special.
“Meghan’s been tight-lipped about potentially revisiting the series,” a source told Us Weekly. “But there’s hope that if the timing is right, something can be worked out.”

“The Recruit” producer P3 Media has scored a seven-figure investment from Ready Entertainment, a company led by Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter, Bernice A. King, and Ashley Bell.
Founded by journalist Adam Ciralsky (the inspiration for Netflix’s hit Noah Centineo-led spy thriller “The Recruit”), P3 is expanding its lineup with upcoming feature doc “The Return.” That title, produced alongside Ciralsky’s P3 partner Gene Klein, centers on the White House’s efforts to free Americans held hostage abroad. “With unprecedented access, the film chronicles high stakes and unconventional efforts to free Eyvin Hernandez, an L.A. County public defender who has been held in Venezuela since March 2022,” per P3.
“This is an extraordinary film about a remarkable individual who has been held in a foreign prison for the crime of being an American,” said King, who along with Bell will join Ciralsky and Klein as an executive producer on the film.

Banking on the renewed interest in “Suits,” which has become a streaming hit on Netflix 12 years after it first debuted on the USA Network, Peacock has exclusively added the legal series’ short-lived spinoff, “Pearson,” to its ranks.
Gina Torres starred as title character Jessica Pearson in the Chicago-set offshoot, which was canceled after one season. The story picked up after Pearson had been disbarred in New York State and accepted a job as a fixer for Chicago Mayor Bobby Novak (Morgan Spector).
The series, which was more about politics than legal battles, was based on a suggestion by Torres after the 2016 election. She also came on board as a producer.
“I started talking to [executive producers] Aaron Korsh and Daniel Arkin, and we started throwing ideas back and forth, until it became what it is now,” Torres told Collider in 2019.

Peacock is hoping to drive some eyeballs to Pearson, the short-lived Suits spin-off, after the latter became a surprising hit on Netflix this summer.
The NBCUniversal streamer has added the show, which starred Gina Torres, to its service today. It is hoping that new Suits fans may discover the spinoff as well, which is not available on Netflix.
Pearson ran for one season on the cable network in 2019 but was canceled a month and a half after its season ended.
Toplined by mothership series alumna Torres, Pearson centered on her character, powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson, as she enters the dirty world of Chicago politics. It also stars Bethany Joy Lenz, Morgan Spector, Chantel Riley, Simon Kassianides, Eli Goree and Isabel Arraiza.
Pearson originated on Suits, whose Season 7 finale served as a backdoor pilot for the spinoff.

"Suits" has caught its second wind thanks to its streaming homes at Netflix and Peacock. The former USA Network legal drama ended after nine seasons back in the fall of 2019, shortly after Meghan Markle made her exit, but has since resurfaced among viewers this summer. And with all the sudden interest in the show, fans are wondering if that's enough for a 10th season to ever see the light of day.
According to executive producer Gene Klein, who served as a non-writing producer during "Suits"'s nine-season run, he hasn't heard about "any serious conversations" regarding a revival, per a July interview with TVLine. However, he did say he mentioned to creator Aaron Korsh that he's "expecting a call at some point." "It's just one of those things where, in this day and age, you wouldn't be surprised if somebody called you someday," he told the outlet. "But so far,...

The USA Network legal drama Suits has seen a massive surge in popularity this summer, with around 18 billion minutes of the series viewed in July alone. Even though this isn’t the show’s first time on streaming, its arrival on Netflix in June has given the show a second life.
When asked about Suits suddenly becoming so popular, executive producer Gene Klein applauded both the show’s creative team and Netflix’s reach, telling TVLine:
“I think there’s two different things going on, one set of things that has to do with the show itself and another that has to do with the power of a particular platform. On the one hand, anecdotally, people reach out to me all the time, so I know it still finds new viewers here and there. But there’s also something about the show that is rewatchable. The hottest streaming show of the summer is not a new and exciting series, but actually a 12-year-old legal drama that ended before the pandemic began. Indeed, "Suits" is the most popular show on streaming at the moment, breaking record after record. According to Nielsen (via Deadline), it has been streamed twice as much as the next title ("The Lincoln Lawyer").
This renewed interest in the USA Network show thanks to streaming has many new fans wondering just what happened to "Suits," why it ended after nine seasons, and whether there's a chance it could come back.
Well, for the first part, the answer is both simple and a bit complicated. The cast of the show was under a contract only until the end of season 7, after which both Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle departed (the latter for rather well-documented reasons). In an interview with Deadline about the final season,...

There might be a “Suits” revival at some point, but executive producer Gene Klein doesn’t think Meghan Markle will be returning as Rachel Zane.
Klein chatted to TVLine after it was revealed last week that “Suits” had just set a streaming record nearly four years after it aired its ninth and final season.
The show — which began streaming on Netflix on June 17 — amassed 3.1 billion minutes viewed across Netflix and Peacock during the week of June 26 to July 2, Nielsen reported.
Klein said of a possible revival given the recent stats, “You know, I’ve mentioned to [creator/showrunner] Aaron [Korsh] that I keep, in this era of reboots and reunions and all this other stuff, that I’m expecting a call at some point. But I’m not aware of any serious conversations. It’s just one of those things where, in this day and age, you wouldn’t be surprised if somebody called you someday.

Peacock’s decision to license episodes of its long-running legal drama “Suits” to streaming competitor Netflix is starting to look so good that the lawyers at Pearson Hardman couldn’t even have foreseen the results. Since coming over from the NBCUniversal streamer, the 2011 series has been one of Netflix’s top performers, rising to third in its American streaming TVcharts for the week between July 17 and July 23, having previously been as high as No. 2. Only the Netflix originals “Sweet Magnolias” and “Quarterback” outdid the first season of “Suits” in the United States during the same time period.

It's rare for a show that ended almost four years ago to be one of the most in-demand titles.
But that's exactly what's happening with USA Network's legal drama Suits, which recently amassed 3.1 billion minutes viewed across a single week on the Nielsen streaming chart.
Those numbers are a record for an acquired series on the chart, so these numbers are excellent.
The legal drama has also been in Netflix's Top 10 for weeks, so the show was expected to appear on the chart, but we never anticipated it would be this big.
