The Lego Movie is fast approaching, and a new set of images have been released that show off… well, a lot of Batman mostly, but some interesting points along other lines as well. It’s an odd assortment of film stills actually, which makes it a bit more fun than normal, because some of them just look like someone playing with Legos and taking pictures.
It’s a bit surprising how much this one is taking off when it comes to the general chatter around the internet, and how much of a marketing push it’s getting. Is this one high on your list of upcoming movies? Or, cynic that you are, is this one rubbing you the wrong way?
Either way, take a look at what you have in store for you.

The Lego Movie, the first-ever, full-length theatrical Lego® adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, opens in theaters February 7, 2014.
Directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (“21 Jump Street,” “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”), this brand new trailer for The Lego Movie stars Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie and Charlie Day, with Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman.
The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average Lego minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

BAFTA’s push to educate people about the importance of gaming and to celebrate the very best in this medium is commendable and they are best placed to do this with access to the top names in the industry.
The titles being celebrated tonight include the annual editions of the most popular franchises but there’s a lot of innovation on show; the latest version of Call of Duty, Portal 2, Super Mario 3D Land and the internet-conquerinig Skyrim are all up for awards tonight along with many more.
The IGN stream will go live from 20.15 and you can watch along below,

Last week it was all about the 2012 BAFTA Film Awards, and now sees our attention turn to gaming with the announcement of the nominees for the BAFTA Video Game Awards 2012. We were there last year and hope to be covering it again this year. But in the meantime here’s the full list of nominees, featuring the cream of the crop of video gaming.
Personally I hope Uncharted 3 sweeps the board in all the categories its nominated in, and – being a Mario fan – I hope Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 pick up awards… although Dead Space iOS could give them a run for the money in the handheld categories!

While the DC side of comics has received plenty of Lego action with Lego Batman, you may be wondering where is the Marvel love. Where is my Lego Iron Man, Spider-Man or better yet a Lego X-Men? Well to put it simply its all Megabloks fault. Director of Tt Games, Jon Burton, recently posted on his twitter account in response to a comment from God of War creator David Jaffe.
He states that a Lego Marvel game was well considered and planned, but thanks to an exclusivity deal Spider-Man is stuck representing Megabloks:
“We were This close to a Marvel Lego a few years ago but Megabloks did an exclusive deal for Spider-man so that was that…”
Let’s be honest, you really can’t have a Marvel Lego game without Spidey. That’s like having a Street Fighter game without Ryu. So thanks to Megabloks you can’t expect...
