For all her work on stage and screen, Kristen Bell might best be known as the woman who cried over a sloth. Back in 2012, the actor went viral with a video shot by her husband, Dax Shepard isn’t even seen interacting with the sloth – in the video it’s just the anticipation of knowing it’s there causes her to practically hyperventilate with euphoria.
It was a moment Wallis Annenberg PetSpace’s Catie Voglio could relate to all too well. “I first saw the video of Kristin Bell’s reaction to the sloth, and I just knew that feeling of loving something so much, it almost hurts you,” she says.

Parents, the holiday season is fast approaching, and the good folks behind the Paw Patrol franchise have figured out a new way to separate you and your money. Their second theatrical film involves the adorable do-gooding pups being transformed into superheroes by a magical meteor. So thanks to Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, there will undoubtedly be a whole new product line in stores featuring the newly minted “Mighty Pups,” sporting all-new superhero costumes and accessories. Consider this a warning, and you’re welcome.
Now to the movie, arriving two years after the surprise success of the Paw Patrol’s theatrical debut. This sequel, which will certainly give birth to many more installments (a third one has already been announced), features as its chief villain Victoria Vance (voiced by Taraji P. Henson, sounding like she’s having fun), a mad scientist who chafes at being referred to as a “mad scientist.

Ozark, whose fourth season just debuted its first batch of episodes on Netflix, recorded the fourth-highest weekly tally ever to repeat atop Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings.
During the week of January 24 to 30, the crime thriller series collected almost 4.1 billion minutes of streaming across its 37 episodes. That tally trails only Tiger King, which erupted with debut weeks of 5.3 billion and 4.4 billion minutes in March 2020. Ozark, during that same early-Covid timeframe when overall streaming was exploding due to pandemic lockdowns, racked up 5.2 billion minutes.
Nielsen said about 60% of Ozark viewers were between the ages of 35 and 64, with the remaining 40% evenly split between 18-34 and 65 and older. The premiere of the second part of Ozark’s fourth season has been set for April 29.
Disney had a strong week, with Encanto‘s remarkable hold continuing and marquee Star Wars spinoff The Book of Boba Fett rising to the No. 4 spot.

STXfilms has nabbed rights to “Universe’s Most Wanted,” a sci-fi fantasy adventure starring Dave Bautista.
It will release the film in the United States, the United Kingdom and India. STX acquired “Universe’s Most Wanted” from AGC Studios and CAA Media Finance.
“Universe’s Most Wanted” is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to begin shooting in Melbourne, Australia in late July. The movie centers on a small town that gets a big surprise when a spaceship carrying the universe’s most wanted and dangerous criminals crash lands in their backyard. Soon the sheriff and his son become heroes when they find themselves helping an intergalactic peacekeeper (Bautista) to keep the ragtag group of alien prisoners from escaping and taking over the world.
The deal reunites Bautista with the studio that backed his recent film, the family comedy “My Spy.” However, STX sold to Amazon Prime amid the pandemic so the movie didn’t play in theaters.

The non-scripted television business is made up of a wily group of people who deftly navigated their way through the Covid-19 pandemic to get a large volume of shows on air.
There is now new light at the end of the tunnel and shows that were shut down, forced to adapt or paused during the last twelve months are starting to find a sense of normality with the likes of American Idol bringing back audiences, Survivor finally getting back into production and American Ninja Warrior returning to its traditional summer time slot.
There is also a widespread sense of optimism that the next twelve months will be buoyant for the business – the “roaring ‘20s of non-scripted” as one buyer called it – with the pandemic having an encouraging impact on development that will see some wild and noisy ideas emerge.
Deadline has spoken to close to 50 senior buyers and sellers from across the broadcast,...

When Josh Gad approached songwriters, Kate Anderson and Elyssa Samsel, about writing original numbers for his animated show, “Central Park,” he didn’t have to say much to convince them to come on board. Anderson explains, “He said, ‘Do you know the show ‘Bob’s Burgers?’’ And I was like, ‘Are you doing something with Loren Bouchard?’ He said yes and I said, ‘Say no more. We’re in!’ We’ve been dying to work with him, he’s a hero of ours.” Samsel adds that learning about the what the show was actually about and her personal connection to specific aspect only made them more excited to be a part of the project. “He said the main character is going to be a busker and I freaked out because I used to play my violin and busk with my case open in Central Park.”

Loren Bouchard, best known for creating Fox’s animated “Bob’s Burgers,” has a new cartoon sitcom coming to Apple TV+ called “Central Park” that once again casts men to voice female roles. During the Television Critics Association press tour on Sunday, he explained his reasoning.
As with “Bob’s Burgers,” which has men voice the roles of both Linda and Tina Belcher, “Central Park” features Daveed Diggs and Stanley Tucci voicing female roles, with Diggs as the character of Helen and Tucci as Bitsy Brandenham. Bouchard admitted he’s aware of the optics.
“Animation just makes you want to take this voice and have it come out of this face. It’s so delicious that I can never stop myself. Hopefully there’s something about it that makes sense,” he said during the show’s panel. “Daveed playing Helen, we knew it early on that is was gonna be so fun to do it.

Now that the fourth season of Veronica Mars is streaming on Hulu, you might find yourself wishing that you'd binged seasons one through three (and the movie!) before diving into the new episodes. After all, there's a lot to remember about how Veronica (Kristin Bell) got her start as a sarcastic private investigator in Neptune, CA. Like, who killed Lilly Kane? Did the theme song always sound like that? And what was the whole deal with Cassidy Casablancas again? If the latter question is boggling your mind specifically, we're breaking it down below. Just be warned: spoilers for seasons one and two of Veronica Mars to follow!

As a reminder, Cassidy "Beaver" Casablancas (played by Kyle Gallner) is Dick Casablancas' younger, far dweebier brother. Dick and Logan frequently pick on "Beav," who's intelligent, but quiet and socially awkward.

Satan, flu shots, and the perfection of the marriage-proposal trophy show hijack – aka The New Streaking – set a very high bar at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards kickoff trophy show season.
Long known as the warm-up act for the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards dove right in challenging that status, when co-hosts Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh snarked, “We are gonna have some fun, give out some awards and one lucky member Will Host The Oscars!”
The Oscars had to revert to Plan B for its 91st awards ceremony – bypassing the show-host format and lining up stars to help out with the ceremony – after Kevin Hart appeared not inclined to reemerge as host, despite last-ditch on-air effort of Ellen DeGeneres to convince him otherwise. Hart stepped down from the gig two days after being announced, when social media went viral with homophobic tweets from his past.

The Emmys kicked off with one hell of an opening number on Monday night that helped set the tone for the rest of the award show. Saturday Night Live vets Kate McKinnon and Kenan Thompson hit the stage to perform a song called "We Solved It" that hilariously (and sarcastically) called out Hollywood's diversity "fix."
"Diversity is not a problem in Hollywood anymore?" Kate asked, before her costar responded, "Nope, we solved it!" They were soon joined by Kristin Bell, Titus Burgess, Sterling K. Brown, and Ru Paul Charles, before Andy Samberg descended from a giant moon to try to be a part of the fun. "Is there any room in this song for a straight white guy like me?" he joked, before they kicked him off the stage and John Legend appeared to take it all home with his jaw-dropping vocals. The last month of Summer is upon us, and for some, that might be reason enough to freak out. But hey, look on the bright side - a new month means a ton of new titles hitting Netflix. The full list of what's going to replace the streaming giant's July selection has officially been unveiled, and it includes The Good Place season two. Great forking news, if we do say so ourselves.
The NBC comedy has received critical acclaim ever since its 2016 premiere, and has since aired two seasons, with season three set to debut in late September. The series stars Kristin Bell as Eleanor Shellstrop, a woman who dies and wakes up in "the Good Place," despite having spent much of her life acting like a huge, well, assh*le. As it turns out, there was a mix-up upstairs, and Eleanor mistakenly escaped "the Bad Place."

Heroes star Kristin Bell enjoyed a little 'healthy' competition with her new movie lover Russell Brand - after realising they had both been named the sexiest vegetarians.
Bell and Brand discovered they have a lot in common while they were making new comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
But the actress was left sore when she realised she was sharing a coveted People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (Peta) honour with her co-star.
She tells Wenn, "Russell has been a vegetarian for the same amount of time as me.
"I've been a vegetarian for 17 years and we used to have little arguments because we were both dubbed Sexiest Vegetarian In The World.
"But I checked out the record books and his is only Sexiest Vegetarian in the U.K. I politely threw that in his face for most of the movie.
"He got to throw it back at me when I lost my title this year to Carrie Underwood and he kept his title in the U.K. So that's what I get for getting cocky about eating sexy vegetables!"
The pair also shared a love of yoga, which came in useful for their love-making scenes.
Bell explains, "We were thrown into a room six days after we met and they said, 'Go into the hotel bedroom and find 10 different awkward sexual positions.' Russell and I both do yoga so we were like, 'Ok this is what I do for a living, let's go!'"...
