The smug, arrogant Comic Book Guy (Hank Azaria), proprietor of the Android's Dungeon, first appeared in the "The Simpsons" episode "Three Men and a Comic Book". In the episode, he sold a rare and expensive copy of "Radioactive Man" #1 to the young collectors Bart (Nancy Cartwright), Milhouse (Pamela Hayden), and Martin (Russi Taylor). The comic cost $100 -- a fortune to the three young boys -- and they had to pool their money to make the sacred purchase.
The trio, however, never decided who would serve as the comic book's official caretaker, and they immediately became suspicious that one of them was angling to steal it from the other two. A "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" drama slowly unfolds. The Comic Book Guy, having seen the boys' folly beforehand, became a Mephistophelean figure, cackling at his customers' hubris.

"Bones" and "Breaking Bad" represented opposing ends of the television spectrum when they aired simultaneously from 2008 to 2013 (a mere fraction of the former's 12-season run from 2005 to 2017). The consistently sizable viewership for "Bones" affirmed that for all the critical accolades showered on "Breaking Bad" and other Peak TV shows, network programming was still the undisputed champion when it came to ratings. Meanwhile, "Breaking Bad" was proof of the untapped potential of the medium when it came to unfurling a complex long-form narrative across several seasons of episodic storytelling.
Of course, those are matters for us nerds to fixate on. The stars of "Breaking Bad" were more than happy to take their share of network TV gigs in the years leading up to Vince Gilligan's watershed crime drama. For more than a decade before he started cooking meth with Walter White as Jesse Pinkman, Aaron Paul got by with one-off parts on "Beverly Hills, 90210,...

The programming for adults vs. programming for kids debate has long been the push-pull in animation. But what about programming about kids that teaches adults important lessons? Several of this year’s animated program Emmy nominees do just that.
Comedy Central’s “South Park: The Pandemic Special,” written by series co-creator Trey Parker, uses its child characters to help satirize the horrific events of last year. The Season 4 premiere of Netflix’s “Big Mouth,” “The New Me,” is written by comedian Patti Harrison and series co-creator Andrew Goldberg and shows the cast of young teens connecting with their friend Natalie (guest star Josie Totah) after learning she’s transitioned. And Fox’s “The Simpsons” is nominated for “The Dad-Feelings Limited,” writer and co-exec producer Ryan Koh’s episode about episode about Springfield resident Comic Book Guy (Hank Azaria), and his internalized issues with his own upbringing and how they relate to his relationship with children.

Comic Book Guy gets his best featured character episode ever on The Simpsons, season 30, Episode 15, "101 Mitigations."
This The Simpsons review contains spoilers.
The Simpsons: Season 30 Episode 15
If anyone calls The Simpsons , season 30, Episode 15, "101 Mitigations," the worst or best episode ever, Comic Book Guy Jeff Albertson would register is disgust throughout the world within minutes, but it may very well be the funniest episode of the season. One of the reasons may be because the episode focuses on Comic Book Guy. This isn't a guarantee. He's not the most reliable of co-leads, that's why he doesn't get many chances to do so. It is also why he works in surprising ways.
Comic Book Guy, voiced by Hank Azaria, has a wealth of quirks, mostly saved for background material, that haven't been plundered, which might open a portal to a Sea Captain outing. Tonight's scenario fits Comic Guy perfectly. Homer takes the...

[As you probably already know, starting on Thursday, August 21, Fxx is running the Every Simpsons Ever Marathon, running through all 552 episodes of "The Simpsons," plus "The Simpsons Movie." To aid in your viewing process, Team HitFix is selecting our favorite episodes from each day, plus an episode or two that you can skip and use as a bathroom or nap break.] And then there were only two. Day 8 of Fxx's Every Simpsons Ever Marathon takes us from "The Regina Monologues" to "The Italian Bob," or from early in Season 15 through to early in Season 17. Honestly, I think that some of these are mighty funny installments for a show that went past its 350th episode in this period, but there's no question that a fair amount of repetitiveness had set in here and an impressive number of plots feel either cribbed from earlier shows, or at least siblings to earlier plots. I mean... Homer gets an Rv again! Sideshow Bob tries to kill Bart a couple times! The Simpsons go to... Italy and England and China! Perhaps that's why we're now just down to me and Sepinwall and Katie Hasty giving recommendations. But don't worry, we offered five up good episodes and I added two episodes that you can skip, though I...
