Survivor winner Boston Rob Mariano and monster-truck champion Dennis Anderson don't shy away from adventure. But even these two adrenaline junkies were daunted by some of the extreme challenges they faced in their new History Channel reality series, Around the World in 80 Ways—and that includes driving motorized cupcakes through San Francisco. The History Channel is debuting a brand-new show, "Around the World in 80 Ways," which stars "Survivor" alum Rob Mariano and Big Foot monster truck creator Dennis Anderson. The pair will try to circumnavigate the globe using 80 different ways of transportation.
When Zap2it spoke to the two men, who hadn't really known each other before the show started filming, it was evident they had become good friends - though they did point out this interview was six weeks removed from filming.
The exact exchange is as follows:
Dennis: "On some of the missions, some days, I really didn't care for Rob at all, but then the days when we were getting along good and after the show, I really respect Rob a lot more and I really kinda miss him sometimes now.
Rob: [laughs] "Oh, my goodness!"
Dennis: "There's some days when I'm goofing off I'd like to have Rob riding in my pick-up.

He's competed on four seasons of Survivor. He's traveled the world at least twice for The Amazing Race. And last year, he did the impossible and finally took home the $1 million grand prize in front of millions of TV viewers on Survivor: Redemption Island. So what in the world is "Boston Rob" Mariano doing back on TV less than a year after his triumphant win?
"I love adventure and I always have," Mariano tells TVGuide.com of his latest reality TV venture, Around the World in 80 Ways. "I never got into Survivor or The Amazing Race or any of these shows to be on TV. I got on originally because I wanted to make some money for my family, and because I love the adventure of it."

"Boston" Rob Mariano finally took home the "Survivor" prize money last spring and has now moved on to a new project, "Around the World in 80 Ways." When he spoke with Zap2it about his new show, we couldn't help but ask what he thought about Ozzy and Coach on the newest season, "Survivor: South Pacific."
"They were both pretty much smart to stay on the Dl," Mariano tells us. "I think it's going to be tough for them. I made it a lot tougher for them than it would've been had I not won."
Can't argue with that. The tribe members are already leery of the veterans.
"At the same time, they both have the experience and the know-how," Rob continues. "If they can make themselves useful and they can make the other members of their tribes feel as if they need them, they might be able to infiltrate the situation and stick around,...

It's going to be weird to see "Boston Rob" Mariano without his trademark Boston Red Sox cap. And, well, with his shirt on. But here we have it.
Starting later this year, History Channel will premiere 'Around the World in 80 Ways,' a show hosted by 'Survivor' winner and 'Amazing Race' star Boston Rob, along with Dennis Anderson, the creator and driver of monster truck Gravedigger.
The 10-part series features the two trouble-making guys circumnavigating the globe, using 80 different modes of travel without repeating any one vehicle.
A dune buggy? Check. A canoe? Check. An ostrich? Uh, check.
