It’s Monday so you know what that means, it’s time for our weekly review of Aew: Rampage! This week’s show emanated from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and featured Tony Schiavone, Excalibur and Matt Menard on commentary. Now let’s get to the review…
Match #1: The Royal Rampage Match – Winner: Darby Allin The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
There are 10 total entrants. The last man standing in each respective ring will then go on to battle it out to determine who will challenge for the Aew World Championship at Grand Slam coming up this September. “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy came to the ring first! Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli was out to the ring next! House of Black’s Brody King, who won the inaugural Royal Rampage, walked out third. Next…Komander. Komander and Claudio began in one ring, while Cassidy and Brody began in the other.

Since its formation in 2019, All Elite Wrestling has put an emphasis on in-ring action, creating a much-needed alternative to WWE. Some would even say that there is too much emphasis on the wrestling itself and not enough flashy storytelling. But while the promotion is far from perfect, there are still many great arcs and rivalries that have come from Tony Khan smashing his action figures together.
Here is a look at the best storylines in Aew’s short history, from alcoholic cowboys to angry dinosaur men..
10. Jon Moxley Dismantles the Inner Circle
As inaugural Aew World Champion, Chris Jericho was able to survive challengers for months thanks in part to his faction, the Inner Circle. When it came time for Jon Moxley to step up and make a go for the belt, he had no allies to back him up. There was no faction warfare. It was just one man...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dynamite, which was broadcast live from the Milwaukee Panther Arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We’ve got Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz on commentary so let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Darby Allin def. Swerve Strickland The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Darby hit a stunner right out of the gate and followed up with a tope suicida! Darby climbed up to the top and jumped onto Swerve on the arena floor again. Outside the ring, Swerve scooped up Darby and slammed him. Swerve climbed the guardrail but Darby dropkicked it, knocking Swerve down. Darby charged Swerve and squashed him against the barricade with a coffin splash. Swerve swept out Darby’s legs as Darby was on top of the steel ring steps. Swerve smashed the heel of his boot against Darby’s jaw. Swerve pulled off Darby’s belt and whipped him with it.

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features nine matches this week and plenty of Canadian talent. We’ve got regulars Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary as usual. So let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Skye Blue def. Tfa (Taryn from Accounting)
My Thoughts: This was a pretty decent and competitive opener for this week’s show and both women delivered throughout the match. Great to see Tfa get some exposure via Aew too.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Jake Hager def. Adam Knight
My Thoughts: Adam Knight looked like he might give Jake Hager a run for his money, especially given how competitive the previous match was, but no. This was a squash of the highest order with Hager eventually hitting Knight with a Vader Bomb to get the win!
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #3: Emi Sakura def. Zoe Sager...

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features a sub-1 hour show this week, with only 8 matches on the card, which pleases me a Lot! We’ve got Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose def. Johnnie Robbie, Vipress and Zyra
My Thoughts: This match saw a return to the Shafir/Rose/Vickie squabbles that we’ve seen previously – they’re obviously building to the split between the trio but at the same time I’ve enjoyed the teaming of Nyla Rose’s intensity with Vickie Guerrero’s brash attitude and I’ll miss it when the split does happen. As for this match? It felt more like an angle than a match but still, an Aew quasi-squash is still an Aew quasi-squash!
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Daniel Garcia def.

Match #1: Death Triangle def. The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks — Matt & Nick Jackson) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Don Callis joined the broadcast booth for this match. Nick Jackson and Penta El Zero Miedo traded offensive, each countering the other. Rey Fenix tagged in and the Young Bucks used tandem offense. Pac and Kenny Omega tagged in for their respective teams and Kenny Omega smashed Pac face-first into the mat. Matt and Kenny hit double planchas to the outside while Nick followed up, jumping off the top turnbuckle onto Pac. Nick tweaked his ankle and tagged out. Brandon Cutler used some cold spray on Nick’s ankle.

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, this week features a mere Five matches! We’ve got Tony Schiavone and Paul Wight on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Emi Sakura def. Danni Bee
My Thoughts: Danni Bee got a couple of moves in before Emi Sakura took control and proceeded to squash Bee thoroughly. Though it’s a credit to Bee that the audience were firmly behind her, even though she stood no chance!
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Matt Menard and Angelo Parker def. Warren Johnson and Zack Mason
My Thoughts: What the hell was this?! Bell rings, Menard and Paker get the pin. In Less than thirty seconds!! Strong booking for a team that haven’t been booked anywhere near as strong as this since joining the Jas.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #3: Willow Nightingale def. Vertvixen

Match #1: The Bunny def. Blain Onyx
My Thoughts: The Bunny took control of this one for the get-go, only “letting” Blain Onyx get a few hits in so it didn’t look like she totally folded. But otherwise this was a complete and total squash.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Brandon Cutler def. Man Scout
My Thoughts: Another Brandon Cutler comedy match… What did you expect? Classic wrestling? He’s fighting Man Scout here folks! This was more of your typical Aew quasi-squash but the outcome was Never in doubt. At all. In the slightest.

Match #1: All-Atlantic Championship Match – Orange Cassidy def. Jake Hager The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Orange hit a dropkick but that Hager ran Orange over with a shoulder block. Hager charged at Orange but Orange ducked and sent Hager tumbling over the top rope. Orange flew out to Hager with a tope suicida but Hager caught him and then drove Orange face first into the ring apron. Back in the ring, Orange Cassidy jumped off the top rope but Hager caught Orange! Cassidy countered with the Stun Dog Millionaire. Orange followed up with the swinging Ddt for a near fall. Orange attempted the Orange Punch but Hager slammed Orange to the mat for a two-count.

Match #1: The Butcher, The Blade and Rush def. Doug Love, Channing Thomas and Brett Gosselin

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which packs in a whopping thirteen matches on the card this week… On with the review!
Match #1: Zack Clayton def. Blake Li

My Thoughts: Oh look, another quick squash match. How exciting.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #3: The Gunns def. Bk Klein & Jarett Diaz
My Thoughts: The Gunns can piss off for all I care. Terrible, terrible, presentation. And their opponents were even worse, with Diaz pausing before a pin attempt for no discernable reason!
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #4: Peter Avalon def. Brandon Cutler
My Thoughts: Well so far this was the best match on Dark. And I’m not being sarcastic, these two actually put on a great comedy-style...

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which is another stacked 10-match card And a live audience thanks to being taped in DC… On with the review!
Match #1: Lance Archer def. Alec Odin
My Thoughts: Two matches in a row for Archer, this was even more of a squash than his Elevation match this week! Odin did get a move or two in but this was very much Archer’s match.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Penelope Ford, Serena Deeb and Jamie Hayter def. Jordan Blade, Trish Adora and Brittany Blake
My Thoughts: I was totally surprised to see that this match Wasn’T a squash – as it certainly looked like it would be on paper. Thankfully this instead was a well-fought, competitive match – one that really showcased the trio of heels to perfection.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #3: Hikaru Shida def. Marina Shafir

My Thoughts: Straight out of the gate, we’ve got a typical Aew quasi-squash match, with Shida not Totally demolishing and embarrassing her opponent here but still being in control of this match entirely. A quick sub-three minute match to kick off this week’s show!
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Lance Archer def. Papadon
My Thoughts: And we get a re-run of the previous match here… only from the male perspective! Papadon got in quite a bit of offence but there was no way any of it was going to have any real impact on Archer…

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. Once again we’ve got Excalibur, Caprice Coleman and Mark Henry on commentary and I’m digging the switch-ups we’ve had on the commentary team in recent weeks… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Angelico and Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) def. Ar Fox, Liam Gray and Adrian Alanis
My Thoughts: There was nothing remarkable about this match as Private Party continue to coast along and not live up to the hype of their signing back at the beginning of Aew. In fact, Private Party on Being the Elite is Better than Private Party in the ring! So in the end we get an average score for an average match.

Welcome to this bonus review of Aew’s special pre-ppv Saturday edition episode of Aew: Dark which usually means that either a) Aew are burning off pre-taped stuff that doesn’t fit into post-ppv storylines Or b) are building hype for said PPV. Given this episode comes from Las Vegas, I’ll bet it’s the latter… Let’s see!
Match #1: Darby Allin def. Brandon Cutler
My Thoughts: This was short and sweet, essentially a squash match-come-promo for Allin’s pay per view match against Kyle O’Reilly. Cutler stood no chance and with a few moves Allin put him away. Nice submission finish to this one – proving Allin has more in the tank than the coffin drop.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Anna Jay def. Sandra Moone
My Thoughts: Again this was something of a warm-up match for Anna Jay before her PPV match against Jade Cargill.

Match #1: Dark Order def. Luther, Bulk Nasty, Jake Omen, Tito Oric, and Rc Dupree
My Thoughts: No idea why this was a match. A total squash by Dark Order and opponents that were so rag-tag that they were unremarkable. This was a waste of screen time even for Dark Order!
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Kris Statlander def. Julia Hart
My Thoughts: This was a great match and a perfect example of why Elevation and Dark exist. Statlander got some screen time for her new character and Julia Hart got more experience in the ring – experience that is clearly paying off. This wasn’t a rushed match or a squash, both...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, we’re back to Paul Wight and Mark Henry on commentary (with Excalibur thankfully joining them) but a bigger 9-match card this week… but still only running around 45 mins again? Let’s get right into the review and the action!
Match #1: Lee Moriarty def. Serpentico
My Thoughts: Nice to see Serpentico back in singles action and nice to Not hear too much from Luther in his corner. As I’ve said before, Serpentico is great as a singles competitor though he had some really stiff competition in Lee Moriarty, whose skill and Taiga style eventually got the better of his opponent.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Abadon def. Danni Bee
My Thoughts: Another squash match for Abadon, this time against a debuting Danni Bee. As I said last week, seeing Abadon obliterate her opponents in a solid squash is so satisfying!

It’s time for this week’s review of Aew: Dark, which once again comes from Aew Universal and, surprisingly, features an appearance by the Young Bucks… On Dark?! What’s going on? The Bucks taking a walk down memory lane? Let’s take a look.
Match #1: The Young Bucks & Brandon Cutler def. Dark Order
My Thoughts: This was a great opening match with both teams looking good. Cutler did his usual goofy stuff and Still got the pin. You knew Dark Order weren’t going to win this one but Cutler getting the pin? Really?! Still, a really good match to open Dark. Still weird seeing the Bucks wrestle at Universal Studios again though…
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Ruby Soho def. Ashley D’Amboise

Match #1: The Young Bucks def. Roppongi Vice The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Trent back elbowed Nick Jackson, who found himself on the outside of the ring. Rocky came over with a hurracanrana on Nick. Roppongi Vice ping ponged Nick back and forth with their tandem offense. They followed up with stereo knee strikes on Matt Jackson. The Young Bucks left the ring with Brandon Cutler. Roppongi Vice chased after the Bucks but the Bucks were playing possum and blasted Roppongi Vice with superkicks! The Bucks sprinted back to the ring to try to win via count out. Welcome to this week’s Aew: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the fallout from Cm Punk’s official arrival into Aew. He’s All Elite! Wouldn’t it be better to just call him Elite? Calling every new signing All Elite is bad grammar…Kelsey Grammer. Scrambled eggs! On this show, we have a bunch of matches I don’t remember and Malakai Black fighting Brock Anderson, because Tommy End still wants to mooch off of his mediocre WWE run instead of investing in his fantastic run before the WWE. If I were Tommy, I’d be less obsessed about my failed WWE run and more intent on getting people to ask if I had wrestled somewhere before the WWE under a different name. Well, since I am about to go out on a date with Dave Thomas from Sctv, I think...

Match #1: The Jurassic Express def. Private Party The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
The Aew World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks — Matt and Nick Jackson — scouted this match from the stage. They sat on chairs that were set up by Brandon Cutler. Isiah Kassidy and Jungle Boy had a standoff. Marq Quen tagged in but Jungle Boy dropped him with an arm drag. He connected with a pin point accurate dropkick to Kassidy.

Welcome to this weeks review of Aew: Dark, which once again comes from Pittsburgh – a crowd who are so hot for Aew no matter the match Or the show! Makes a world of difference to hear an excited crowd during matches…
Match #1: 2.0 def. Skyler Andrews & Sam Adams
My Thoughts: Skyler Andrews & Sam Adams opened this match strongly, looking like they might have been headed for an upset but it was not to be… 2.0, who are on a hot streak in Aew after being released by WWE, got the win and are on a roll going into this weeks Dynamite.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Tay Conti def. Rebecca Scott
My Thoughts: This was a pretty good womens match, with the debuting Rebecca Scott looking good if a little green for TV. Conti had control for the majority of this match, looking dominant with her Dd-Tay finish.
My Score:...

Jon Moxley def. Jon Cruz
Jon Moxley? On Dark? A rare treat to see the former Aew champ and current Iwgp US champ on Aew’s second show. Though to be fair this was less of a tune-up match and more of a squash. Though unlike your usual squash matches (more of which are later in this episode) when Moxley squashes someone, anyone, it always feels like its because he’s a tough bastard and Not because it was a squash match! Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and it’s been a little while since I reviewed Dark, because the match amount and weekly length of the show was becoming very difficult to deal with as the rest of the usual wrestling shows were coming back and yada yada yada. In an effort to retain my sanity, I’m gonna start reviewing Aew Dark a bit differently. Since they just keep loading this show with squash matches, I’m going to stop reviewing this show per match and instead just make comments about the best performances of the wrestlers themselves. My apologies to those that want an individual match review per show, but I don’t wanna start to hate this show and reviewing a show that has a weekly card that is in excess of twenty or so matches…...

Match #1: Hikaru Shida def. Rache Chanel
My Opinion: 2.6 out of 5 – Shida carried Rache to a passable match where Rache got away with too much ham-fisted character stuff. It was nice having Shida here, but she should be defending her title against the best Aew’s women’s division has to offer, not the entry-level interns (no offense to Rache). I wish Rache would focus more some chops or uppercuts, rather than the hair-combing spot she seems to be fond of.

Match #1: The Nightmare Sisters (Allie and Brandi Rhodes with Dustin Rhodes) def. Diamante and Rache Chanel
My Opinion: 2.3 out of 5 – This was a weak match that saw Diamante kicks some ass and Allie followed along right behind her. There’s some-thing here with Rache, but she doesn’t have enough immediate talent to be on TV yet. That being said, Rache has a weird, 1996 Booker T stance that she has when she fights that she...

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Hardbody Harrison is in jail for life, because he’s an idiot…and an evil perv. The show has six matches, which includes a match from Brian Pillman Jr., who now has to thank the booker-man for this wonderful opportunity…to get Covid-19. Dark starts… I can’t believe you don’t shut-up!
Match #1: Shawn Spears def. Brian Pillman Jr.
My Opinion: 2.5 out of 5 – This should have been a much longer match, but for the one we got, this was still fun and tantalizing…like Lorraine Bracco…good for her. Bp did well, except for the oil spill, but what does a seagull know? You’ll see some nice mat work here, but it all felt too brief and secondary to Spears’s and his stupid glove. If you like a...

Welcome to this double-sized version of the All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and it’s Revok…Darryl Revok!!! I missed last week’s show, so I’m going to give you both this week, but in an alternate format. I’ll list off both weeks’ matches and give the rating for each, followed by a recommendation of what the best matches were (given the rest will just be squashes). Okay, here come a thousand squash matches and one match featuring more than a minute of actual wrestling.

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I’m writing this out of order, so I can say a bit about the numerous accusations of sexual misconduct (to put it very lightly) from wrestlers all over the world. Just because there are a plethora of deviants in wrestling, that doesn’t mean you have to quit wrestling or be ashamed to watch it, but it does mean that it’s gonna leave a bad taste in your mouth for a while. As many pigs as there are in wrestling, it would seem we also have many who are good people as well. Jordan Devlin may be a monster, but Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) seems to be a good man, by and large. Marty Scurll might be a scum-bag, but Jeff Hardy has a great reputation (his drug addiction...

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I’m watching this “I’m Not Your Negro” documentary. I like it, but Samuel L. Jackson’s overly-performed narration highlighted why writers and artists tend to be the wrong people to deliver any kind of important message. Hell, look at this bull-shit paragraph I just wrote. Never fully trust a writer unless it’s a confession of guilt (and even then…). Okay, the sermon’s over and Dark has Robert Anthony fighting Jon Moxley in the main event.
Match #1: Scu def. Fuego del Sol and Low Rider
My Opinion: 2.7 out of 5 – Not bad for a squash match.
Match #2: 5 (Alan Angels) def. Lee Johnson
My Opinion: 2.8 out of 5 – This went real well for a five minute fight. 5 and Lee used some smart reversals and snappy transitions that kept the...

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. We’ve got about an hour of wrestling to get to, so let’s get to it.
Match #1: Billy Gunn w/ Austin Gunn def. John Skyler
My Opinion: 2.3 out of 5 – Skyler worked well with a slightly slower, but still skilled Billy. As a match, this was too short to really get going, but it was all decent for a few minutes and that’s some-thing.
Match #2: The Butcher and the Blade def. Joe Alonzo and Jon Cruz
My Opinion: 2.3 out of 5 – This was a squash match, but it went a bit longer than most. There’s not much going on here that was worth remembering, but the match did let us take an extended look at B&b and that’s a good thing.
Match #3: Christi Jaynes def. Kilynn King
My Opinion: 2.2 out...

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have…Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!! We’ve been f—— robbed! Where’s the Camberet? My Lyndatto sculpture?! The Rings of M’fulche?! Every piece of art has been pilfered like a virgin’s sweet cherry! I’m going to smash Pandetti when I see that little Italian! Well, while I mourn the death of my Shangri-La, perhaps you’ll enjoy the buffet of semi-nudified flesh that leaps across the canvas. Oh! The f—— Pfhindala! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
Match #1: Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes & Qt Marshall) def. John Silver and Alex Reynolds
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – I enjoyed this, with S&r really doing the big work here. It’s nice to see both of them getting to shine with ol’ Dustin and Qt. As matches go, this was meaty and mean, but never too showy.
