The wait is almost over, “Colin from Accounts” superfans. While the second season of the quirky Aussie comedy has already aired in Australia, U.S. fans have had to wait and wonder when they would get more of their cult favorite series. But Paramount+ has finally set a Season 2 premiere date in the U.S.
The second season aired in Australia on Foxtel, but the U.S. date for the “Colin” Season 2 premiere is Thursday, September 26, and the entire run of eight episodes will be available on Paramount+ all at once. (The first season won two prizes at the Gotham Awards this past January.)
If you haven’t discovered this uniquely Australian comedic gem, you may not realize “Colin from Accounts,” the title character, refers to not a human but a dog. A quirky series of events is set in emotion when Ashley (Harriet Dyer) randomly flashes a guy, Gordon (Patrick Brammall), who’s driving.

The beloved Australian rom-com series is finally back for its second season and while I want to say that everything is going hunky dory for our leading couple, in my opinion, it just won’t end up that way. Created by and starring the real-life couple Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall, Colin from Accounts is back with its much anticipated second season with the always-bickering Ashley and Gordon.
Colin from Accounts picks up the story of Ashley and Gordon two weeks after they gave up Colin to a family of three. Now, regretting their decision they have been pestering the family to give Colin so that they don’t have to deal with the question of what their relationship is like if Colin is taken out of the equation because he was the one who brought them together. If you love the hilariously written relationship of Ashley and Gordon, here...

Breakout Australia comedy Colin From Accounts is back in production.
An official green light of Season 2 of the hit Binge sitcom came in August, after writers and stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer chose to down their pens in solidarity with WGA strike in the U.S. over the summer.
Exec producer Alison Hurbert-Burns from Binge told Deadline in October production would begin in “coming months,” adding: “As an Australian program it was outside of the strike, but they just felt it was the right thing to do.”
Brammall and Dyer finished the scripts once a deal was struck at the end of September. Production is now back underway across Sydney, with Easy Tiger Productions and CBS Studios returning the produce.

With the new series Colin From Accounts — streaming on Paramount+ following a Foxtel/Binge debut in its native Australia — creator/stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer have set themselves possibly one of the most difficult challenges in the history of romantic comedies.
How do you make a show in which, within the first five minutes, the main characters are responsible for running over an adorable dog and, by the end of eight episodes, have the audience liking those characters, if not necessarily rooting for their coupling?
The answer comes down to clever writing and the chemistry between Brammall and Dyer, who are married in addition to their collaborations here. Colin From Accounts never wholly shakes its “They ran over a dog!” bleakness — the dog, it should be emphasized clearly, is mostly Ok — nor does it wholly break out from the rom-com conventions it’s so keenly aware of. But it...

The best rom-com couples make it look easy; the absolute best convince you that none of it stops when the cameras do. The laughs, back-and-forth, and buzzy attraction feel so undisputable that of course they carry on without an audience, are you kidding? Those guys?! They’re the real deal.
Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall, the co-writers and stars of Australian comedy series Colin From Accounts, are the real deal. Not just because they’re a married couple with a child, but because their show is one of the best rom-coms around. It’s the story of medical student Ashley and craft brewer Gordon, a pair who meet when he – distracted by an act of…titillation on her part – accidentally runs over a dog. It’s a classic meet-cute, just one that results in a $12k vet bill and an ongoing shared custody dispute.

‘Playing for Keeps.’
The overnight ratings on Wednesdays for Network 10’s Playing for Keeps were respectable but the catch-up numbers are so healthy the broadcaster has commissioned a second series.
The first seven episodes of the Screentime-produced drama drew an average audience of 503,000, including time-shifted viewing, in the mainland capitals.
But the catch-up component jumped from 9 per cent for the premiere to 25.9 per cent for episode 5, 17.9 per cent for ep 6 and 21 per cent for ep 7.
The finale had 599,000 capital city viewers, which was up by 49 per cent or 197,000 viewers from the overnight number, including broadcast VOD viewing and the encore screening.
“We’re thrilled that Playing for Keeps has really found its place in the market,” said Network 10 head of drama Rick Maier, who came up with the idea of the show about Afl footballers’ wives and girlfriends and took it to Screentime.

In another piracy-busting move, the creative team behind Super Awesome! plan to launch the musical comedy on iTunes and other VOD platforms on May 29, the same day as the world premiere in Toronto.
Guy Edmonds and Matt Zeremes, who co-wrote and co-directed the mico-budgeted film, play struggling actors who are given one last chance to prove themselves by staging a musical, Honey I.m Homeless.
The theme is marriage equality, a topic about which the naïve, straight guys know next to nothing.
The self-funded $60,000 film will premiere at the 25th Annual Inside Out Toronto Lgbt Film Festival, arranged by the international sales agent, French- based Outplay.
The cast includes Simon Burke (who performs the signature song Man to Man), Patrick Brammall, Rob Carlton, Annie Maynard and New York actor Vinnie Vella, whose credits include Casino, The Sopranos and Coffee and Cigarettes.

Directing his first feature film, Now Add Honey, Wayne Hope staged a scene in Melbourne on Tuesday in which a character played by his wife Robyn Butler gets so angry she smashes a windscreen.
100 Bloody Acres actor Angus Sampson was on the other side of the windscreen. The glass duly shattered, nobody got hurt and Hope got the shots he wanted.
Asked if anyone was concerned about how his wife would handle the scene, Hope told If, .I wasn.t worried, but other people were.. That.s the kind of easy rapport you would expect between the husband and wife who collaborated on the ABC-tv series The Librarians and Very Small Business.
Butler wrote the screenplay for Now Add Honey, which stars Lucy Fry (who.ll be seen in the upcoming Hollywood film Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters), Portia de Rossi, Hamish Blake, Sampson, Ben Lawson and Lucy Durack.

Theatre buffs may recognise Matt Zeremes and Guy Edmonds from their portrayal of a love-struck homosexual couple in the sell-out show Holding the Man.
Now the pair of straight-up straight guys are working on a new project, this time tackling the issue of gay marriage.
The comedic feature film, Super Awesome! has just finished 17 days of shooting in Sydney and now cast and crew are en route to New York, where they will film the finale.
.I can.t wait. It.s chaotic, there are still a couple of things to organise, it.s super exciting,. says Zeremes - who co-directs and co-produces with Edmonds - the day before the duo is set to fly to the Big Apple.
.Already it.s been a really amazing journey, really awesome,. adds Edmonds. .But I.m so absolutely shattered . it.s been the biggest three weeks of my life..
