We expect the gang from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" to do outrageous things, but the last thing we expect is for them to do something incredibly heartfelt and sincere. And yet, in the incredible season 13 finale, that's exactly what happens. Struggling to find a way to come out to his father, Mac performs an elaborate dance routine that symbolizes his inner turmoil. A lesser comedian might have gone with the obvious punchline, making the dance go horribly wrong and look poorly executed. Instead, this eternally boundary-pushing show managed to subvert audience expectations yet again and deliver a breathtaking number. So how did Rob McElhenney, an actor and series co-creator with zero dance experience, manage to pull off such an impressive feat?
Now, this dance number wasn't the first time McElhenney went to physical extremes on "Sunny," transforming his body in a major way for the sake of a bit.

(L-r) Channing Tatum as Mike Lane and Salma Hayek Pinault as Maxandra Mendoza in Warner Bros. Pictures musical comedy “Magic Mike’S Last Dance,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.
Magic Mike’S Last Dance is the third installment in Channing Tatum’s male stripper-dance series, and appears to be the last, as the story reaches crazy fantasy heights. That is not to say there isn’t some entertainment value – in the vein of the erotic original – and with director Steven Soderbergh back at the helm (as he was for the first one but not the second), it is a more polish production. Magic Mike’S Last Dance dials back the seriousness of the second movie, and this third installment describes itself as “musical comedy” as it returns more to male erotic dancing and female titillation mode. But then the sequel overshoots the mark, with a remarkably goofy story that mixes a reverse Pretty...

The words “Magic Mike” may conjure up images of sweaty, sculpted, undulating men, dancing unthreateningly for hoards of screaming women, but there has always been a backdrop of brutal economic reality looming over the fantasy world.
The unlikely franchise has explored the escalating devaluation of physical laborers, the suffocating effects of the college industrial complex, predatory loan businesses, recession and even Covid-19, which has effectively destroyed poor Mike Lane’s furniture business in this latest film.
When we re-meet Channing Tatum’s gentle hunk in “ Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” in theatres Friday, he’s bartending at parties for the very rich in Miami. The gig could be worse, but though he doesn’t quite say it, the implication is that he’s even aged out of dancing now. He has to seriously think about it when his wealthy employer offers him 6,000 for a dance later that evening.

If you’re not someone who dreams of Channing Tatum flipping you around like a flapjack in front of an audience of shrieking women, you may scoff at the release of a third “Magic Mike” film. But the first two weren’t without their delights. 2012’s “Magic Mike” was a gritty exposé of the American dream with a side of oiled abs. In a move both savvy and soul-crushing, “Magic Mike Xxl” leaned fully into selling sex, to serve up a campy, raunchy romp.
It’s tragic, then, that “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” fully delivers neither style nor substance. The film desperately strives to be a spectacle with a tired, faux-feminist message. It is a grandiose love story made for a rowdy audience with unromantic expectations. A filthy early dance sequence promises more for the horndogs, and Stephen Soderbergh’s slick direction lends some artistic cred, but this threequel is gutless — and relatively crotchless.

The Performer | Julia Roberts
The Show | Homecoming
The Episode | “Stop” (Nov. 2, 2018)
The Performance | It was an incredible coup for Amazon to get a super-duper A-lister like Roberts to headline its new thriller — but she didn’t just bring superstar wattage to the series. The Oscar winner also brought formidable acting chops to the complicated role of counselor Heidi Bergman, who finally fought back against the nefarious conspiracy that ensnared her in the riveting Season 1 finale.
Now knowing the full scope of Homecoming’s misdeeds, Heidi headed for the exits and fended off her boss Colin, and Roberts gave her an...

Sitcoms creatively peak sometime in their second or third year, and even the best ones would probably be best off ending after five or six seasons at the most. If this isn’t an immutable law, it’s at least common sense based on decades of history to back it up.
But the Gang from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has never had much use for laws, common sense, facts or anything in that vein. Which might help explain why it’s still capable of being one of TV...

Spoiler alert! This article contains details of tonight’s season finale of Fxx’s It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Watch enough of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and you’ll see the the Paddy’s gang dance their asses off. Maybe during the high school reunion episode of Season 7, when Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and tag-along Frank (Danny DeVito) used dance as revenge on some snooty classmates. Or Season 4’s classic “The Nightman Cometh,” when Charlie wrote a musical to woo The Waitress (didn’t work). Or maybe Season 3’s dance contest episode, the one titled “The Gang Dances Their Asses Off.”
So McElhenney’s pas de deux that closed tonight’s Season 13 finale didn’t seem terribly surprising – at least for, say, the first minute, maybe two.

Kylie Shea is a strong, gorgeous professional ballerina, but she’s always been embarrassed by the cellulite on her legs. She typically fills her Instagram feed with perfectly posed professional photographs of herself, but on Monday she decided to share a “raw and unedited” picture of her legs to help others who are struggling with their body image.
Shea, 31, wrote on Instagram that she’s always been critical of her body.
“I’ve had cellulite since I was a pubescent teenager and to this day it makes me feel very vulnerable,” she said. “I struggled through years of unhealthy eating habits as a young girl,...
