13 Reasons Why Season 4 was made official by Netflix last September, setting up what will serve as the final season for the series.
After the series released its third season last year, it became clear that formerly controversial water cooler topic series 13 Reasons Why was running out of reasons to cite, thus putting a finish line firmly on the horizon. While the show typically runs 13 episodes, this final run will contain just 10. However, creator/showrunner/Ep Brian Yorkey remained onboard to see things through.

One thing we know for sure is this: Secrets don't stay hidden at 13 Reasons Why's Liberty High School. In the new trailer for the finale season of 13 Reasons Why, Justin (Brandon Flynn) tells Clay (Dylan Minnette) not to freak out. Easier said than done when somebody has painted, "Monty was framed" in the school. It's senior year and the kids are trying to keep all the secrets buried. But with so many tying them together, will that even be possible? And as the pressure mounts surrounding Montgomery de la Cruz (Timothy Granaderos) and the murder of Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice), trust is tested. "What if they're watching all of us?" Jessica (Alisha Boe) asks. Clay is...

Monty was framed.
Those are the damning words spray painted onto doors at Liberty High in the final season of “13 Reasons Why” that set the final season’s drama in action, as revealed in the official trailer Netflix released Wednesday.
Monty, or Montgomery de la Cruz (Timothy Granaderos) was the violent teenager who raped Tyler (Devin Druid) and constantly bullied a number of other classmates, as well. He died in the third season of the show, which kept him unable from being able to to deny the accusations that he killed Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice).
But now it appears someone out there is not Ok with him taking the fall for that particular crime.
“I think we may have a few problems,” Dylan Minnette’s Clay Jensen says in the trailer, which you can watch above.

13 Reasons Why is officially coming to an end next month. On Monday, Netflix announced that the show's fourth and final season will premiere on June 5. In an emotional goodbye video, which is set to "The Night We Met" by Lord Huron, we get glimpses of the cast tearfully hugging each other during one of their final table reads as well as clips of them filming at Liberty High. "I will never forget this experience for the rest of my life," Alisha Boe says in the video.
The video also included a few spoilers as Justin Prentice (who plays Bryce) was spotted with the rest of the cast during the table read. As fans will recall, his character was murdered last season, so we're definitely curious to see how the show brings him back. Perhaps in flashbacks or as a ghost? Does this mean we'll also see Hannah Baker again? We...

Season four of 13 Reasons Why will land on Netflix on June 5, and we will say our final farewells to the Liberty High crew. We can't wait to see how the show wraps up all the Wtf moments and cliffhangers from last season, and one thing we're really wondering is if Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) might somehow reappear in this final season.
If you recall, the first season of 13 Reasons Why was centered on Hannah's suicide as the people who contributed to her emotional torment had to deal with learning how much they hurt her. The first season of the show followed the book of the same name pretty closely, but the show ends where the book did. That means all of the following seasons were uncharted territory. And though Hannah was dead, she returned for season two to bridge the plot from the original story and into the new world.

Get ready to bust out your cassette tape player for a breath of nostalgia: The fourth and final season of “13 Reasons Why” will launch June 5, Netflix announced Monday.
In the final season, Liberty High School’s senior class is preparing for graduation, but of course before they can actually say goodbye to each other and their school, they will have to keep a dangerous secret buried, as well as face “heartbreaking choices” that may impact their futures forever.
The final season of the young adult drama that was originally based on Jay Asher’s 2007 novel of the same name will consist of 10 episodes. While the first season followed the plot of Asher’s book, centering on the titular tapes the teenager Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) sent to various classmates to explain her suicide, subsequent seasons thrust her friend Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) into the center of the story and...

Ross Butler isn’t done playing a high schooler, at least not yet. Despite turning 30 later this year, Butler tells Variety that he’s going to work the letterman jackets he’s known to wear on-screen — on one season of “Riverdale” and, now, in Netflix’s “To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You” — for as long as he can.
“It’s keeping me young mentally, which I’ve enjoyed, keeping the young, youthful energy,” Butler says.
Butler brings that big youth energy into his role as Trevor Pike, best friend to Noah Centineo’s Peter Kavinsky, in “P.S. I Still Love You,” the sequel to Netflix’s hit teen rom-com “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.”
Butler and Centineo’s real-life friendship started when the two would see each other at auditions, sometimes for the same role. Their natural chemistry — and that with other cast members,...

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “13 Reasons Why” Season 3, including the ending.]
By focusing on rehabbing the image of a rapist, “13 Reasons Why” Season 3 quickly proves it’s creatively bankrupt. But only after watching all 13 hours of the new season do you learn that even the rehab was for naught, which makes the whole season one big confounding waste of time.
…and yet, the show’s perceived popularity indicates people are watching, so let’s talk about some of the many ways this season fails. Brian Yorkey’s still-very-bad Netflix original has nothing substantial to say; despite the many controversial topics touched upon, these 13 new episodes are only interested in depicting trauma for the sake of drama, and no one seems to care how far they have to re-e-e-e-ach to justify talking about abuse, rape, murder, immigration, homophobia, “locker room talk,” drug use, and so many more intense, real-world teen experiences. The sheer quantity is preposterous, undercutting any actual impact the season could carry,...

Another day, another reason people are mad at 13 Reasons Why. The Netflix series has been courting controversy ever since its debut in 2017, as concerned adults worried that graphic depictions of suicide and a lacking exploration of mental health might be bad for the teens who were quickly binging the show. Netflix has since edited out the graphic suicide scene, and the show now includes a warning and an accompanying website with mental health resources for anyone who may need them, but the criticisms keep coming. Warning: Spoilers ahead for 13 Reasons Why season three!
It's time for the moment of truth in season three of 13 Reasons Why: Who killed Bryce Walker and why? Thirteen episodes, many believable suspects (Monty? Jessica? Justin? Ani? Mrs. Baker?!), a confession, and a strong false accusation later, we finally find Bryce's real murderer: Alex Standall (Miles Heizer).
All season long, we watch the sheriff and Mrs. Walker point the finger at Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette). Don't get us wrong, Clay definitely has plenty of motive, plus the video footage of him threatening to shoot Bryce (Justin Prentice) to avenge Hannah and those incriminating text messages the night he was killed - we even believed it might be Clay for a minute, too.
Then, we were left picking up our jaws off the ground after Zach Dempsey (Ross Butler) confesses to killing Bryce. Only to find out that he didn't actually kill him.

With plenty of twists, 13 Reasons Why did that. The series killed off its chief antagonist Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice), turned his death into a season-long mystery and attempted to redeem the character—a serial rapist—along the way. So, who killed Bryce Walker? Spoiler alert! As revealed in the season three finale, Alex (Parenthood veteran Miles Heizer) was the one to ultimately end things for Bryce. The third season of the Netflix drama—its penultimate because season four will be the last—revolves around the murder of Bryce (Justin Prentice). Everyone's a suspect, especially when you consider how…not great of a person the character was throughout the first two seasons. "It's an interesting journey," Prentice told The Hollywood Reporter about the new season. "I don't know that death necessarily is a just punishment. I think that's up to the viewers." In the first two...

Who killed Bryce Walker? That’s the central question in the first trailer for Netflix’s upcoming season of “13 Reasons Why” — and everyone’s a suspect.
Season 3 picks up with the mysterious murder of the show’s antagonist Bryce (Justin Prentice), a high school student accused of sexual assault. However Walker’s mom is out for justice.
“It is my wish to find the person who killed my son,” Walker’s mother demands to a police officer, who promises, “We are working every angle and we will find out what happened.”
Everyone had a reason to want Walker dead, meaning anyone at Liberty High could be responsible. As the students are questioned by the police, it seems that no one is safe, and no one can be trusted.
“Someone we know could have done this,” Justin Foley (Brandon Flynn) tells Jessica Davis (Alisha Boe).
“That’s crazy,” Davis responds.

When Netflix’s controversial “13 Reasons Why” returns, it will be with a new question that will plague the continually traumatized students of Liberty High. This time, instead of examining the reasons for Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) killing herself, the series will investigate another death – the mysterious murder of star athlete and bully Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice), who raped Hannah before her suicide.
This new murder-mystery twist will once again ignite tensions within the school as motives will be questioned and fingers will be pointed. Bryce was popular but he was also loathed and feared, and in the trailer that Netflix released Wednesday, one fan favorite will become a prime suspect.
Here’s Netflix’s official description for the season:

13 Reasons Why Season 3 is almost here and the fine folks at Netflix have dropped the full-length trailer.
The murder of Bryce Walker takes center stage as the teenagers all emerge as very likely suspects.
When you have a character as wicked as Bryce, then it's fair to assume that there will be a lot of suspects when something happens to him.
Oh yes, the series is going full murder mystery for its penultimate season. Will that result in a more watchable season?
Possibly, but time will tell.

The biggest suspect appears to be Clay. The kid just can't seem to catch a break, but there's no denying that he wanted something to happen to Bryce after what he put his friends through.

Netflix has edited the controversial suicide scene from “Thirteen Reasons Why” two years after the show originally premiered.

Exclusive: It came down to the wire (and a little beyond that) but the core eight-member cast of Netflix’s hugely popular drama series 13 Reasons Why, have completed contract renegotiations, closing new deals with big salary bumps.
We hear Dylan Minnette, who has emerged as the sole lead following the departure of original star Katherine Langford, will be payed in the $200,000 per episode range, while Brandon Flynn, Alisha Boe, Justin Prentice, Christian Navarro, Miles Heizer, Devin Druid and Ross Butler will each be making $135,000 an episode in the upcoming third season, going up to $150,000 an episode in Season 4, should the show go to a fourth season.
That is close to what the actors and their reps had been seeking and way above the group’s start salaries, said to be in the $20,000 – $60,000 an episode range, with Minnette believed to have started higher, around or north of $80,000.
