Celebrity Big Brother contestant Louis Walsh has ignited a ramped-up war of words with X Factor breakouts Jedward, with the identical twin singers accusing Walsh of forcing them to give one of his PR workers £70,000.
On last night’s Celebrity Big Brother, Walsh branded the singers – who featured on The X Factor during his time as judge and who he used to manage – “vile,” before saying he “got £5 million from them.”
Jedward responded almost immediately via X with a string of weighty accusations including that Walsh had “forced us into an office to pay £70k+ to [sic] from our bank account to one of his own PR workers.”
In a number of tweets last night after the show, Jedward – real names John and Edward Grimes – also accused Walsh of “trying to make us sign our name and life away in dodgy contracts to people he was great friends with.”

Jedward have claimed that they’re receiving death threats over their comments regarding the monarchy, in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
After King Charles III was formally confirmed as the UK’s new monarch, the former X Factor contestants tweeted: “Abolish the monarchy and give the people real democracy!”
“King Charles should hand back the six Irish counties on his visit to Northern Ireland – No war! Just words! It’s time,” they wrote in a follow-up tweet.
Now, the pair – consisting of Irish twins John and Edward Grimes – have doubled down on their words as they claimed to have received death threats due to their political stance.
On Wednesday (14 September) night, Jedward tweeted: “To anyone we offended, we’re sorry we have the balls to speak the truth! You know deep down change is needed.”

Britney Spears wrote that she was “traumatised for life” following her 13-year conservatorship and likely won’t be able to perform live shows again.
In a now-deleted post on Instagram, Spears shared a lengthy message reflecting on the work required to put on her past shows, as well as the process involved in preparing her live performances.
Starting off her message by saying that she didn’t have any creative control over her music at that time, Spears says the only visual she liked was the one for her 2013 single “Work B****”.
The “Toxic” singer also mentioned the unpleasant experiences she has had working with photographers.
“The most offensive So Called professional pictures on every tour. I mean they could have at least cheated and retouched them for me… just saying… two day shoots for new show in Vegas literally the worst ever… and me excited for the pictures for five months on tour…...

A fan of Sir David Attenborough has shared the heartwarming letter he sent to his child.
The young girl had named her new pet Sir David Stickenborough, in honour of the famed nature documentarian.
“She wrote to tell him this,” revealed the girl’s father on Twitter. “Obviously he responded.”
Darren Logan, the head of research at The Waltham Petcare Science Institute, shared a picture of the letter his daughter had received in response.
On headed paper, Attenborough had written: “I am so glad you’re interested in stick insects. I am too and, when I was your age I also kept some. They are indeed fascinating.
“There are at least 2,500 different species worldwide. Most come from tropics and only a few species ever reach this country. Scientifically speaking they belong to a group called the Phasmatoidea which contains two main groups – the leaf insects and the stick insects.”

In-car film events are thriving, but unless you were a teen in the 50s you may not be familiar with their charms. Here are the the dos and don’ts
Modern Toss on drive-in cinemas
After a deeply weird year in which Andrex became more valuable per ounce than saffron and Jedward emerged as well-respected voices of scientific rigour, shops, gyms and beer gardens are now officially Open. You can even go and get a proper haircut, which has already had a marked effect on the number of people wandering the streets looking like John Cooper Clarke running a Tough Mudder. Without wanting to jinx it, things are – say it quietly – looking up.

Dyer is set to follow in her father’s footsteps towards low-budget British film stardom. But she should heed the warnings of Leona Lewis and Jedward …
O31 won’t be the first film Dani Dyer has appeared in – she has previously been seen in fare like Age of Kill, We Still Kill the Old Way and Bonded by Blood 2 – but it will be the first film she’ll make as a newly minted Love Island star.
By the time O31 comes out, she will be legitimately famous. Or at least, as legitimately famous as an ITV2 reality show contestant can be once the afterglow of Love Island has faded. Will anybody watch it? That’s harder to say. Dyer will play a woman who realises her brother killed her mum. We're annoyed with The X Factor. No, not because of Mason Noise, or because Sinitta wasn't at Judges' Houses, or because of Simon Cowell's eye-wateringly high waistline. Nope, we're annoyed with The X Factor because we're not getting Halloween Week this year.
There's nothing scarier than a hopeful singer nervously belting out a classic while dressed in lycra and cobwebs, but we're going to be denied this pleasure as the contestants instead face the "this is me" theme for the first live show on Saturday. But that doesn't stop us from carving a pumpkin, popping on a witch's hat and reliving these best ever Halloween Week performances:
1. 'E.T.' - Little Mix (2011)

Boot Camp lasted five weeks - yes, that's right, five weeks - but tonight, we finally have some progression, and the final 24 are off to Judges' Houses to be whittled down to the final 12. Cheryl takes the Groups to Rome, Simon takes the Overs to the South of France, Rita takes the Girls to La... and Nick takes the Boys to the Cotswolds. Awkward.
Join us from 8pm and we'll bring you all the action live as it happens. We can't wait to comment on all of the judges' interior design prowess (and also, we suppose, whether the acts are any good). In the meantime, here's 8 of the past best ever Judges' Houses moments - we wonder what kind of tears, celebrity cameos and pool-jumping antics we've got in store this evening?

The always warm-and-fuzzy Simon Cowell is all about encouraging contestants on The X Factor this weekend - when he's not saying they look "half-dead".
Poor Max Stone gets a right ripping from the X Factor judge as soon as he steps on stage for the Six Chair Challenge looking a bit aloof.
X Factor's 9 most bonkers novelty acts: From Wagner's bongos to Jedward-mania
The X Factor 2015: Mason Noise spotted joining the Boys, and Che Chesterman gives Josh Daniel a cheeky squeeze
"You look - if you don't mind me saying so - like you're half-dead," Simon complains, before Max has sung a single note.
In an effort to liven up young Max, Simon encourages him to cut loose and have a bit of fun… if he wants to remain in the competition, that is.
Yikes, surely it'll be easy to relax under that kind of pressure.

It's not just X Factor winners who keep us coming back year in, year out, it's the ludicrous novelty acts who make the show so memorable. In the words of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, "it may be borderline bonkers, but I love that".
But since Louis Walsh's departure from the show, there's been a noticeable lack of novelty fodder. Damn them for employing judges who actually value musical talent over mad outfits and insane dance routines.
So in tribute to the former finalists who may have made us visibly cringe but always smile, here's nine of our favourites, brought to you in association with TalkTalk's new Bopheads app:

The X Factor knows how to create drama. From the blast of 'O Fortuna' as Simon Cowell and his buddies enter the stage, to former voiceover man Peter Dickson hamming it up, they've got the atmosphere nailed.
One of the most exciting elements of the show will always be the big Sunday night eliminations, especially if the dreaded Deadlock comes into play. Most of the time, the judges get it right, but sometimes there are downright shocks. Here are the biggest to date, brought to you in association with TalkTalk's new Bopheads app:
1. Laura White (series 5)
Wigan lass Laura was tipped for X Factor success in 2008's early stages, but found herself in a tough girls group with the public's favourite indie fairy Diana Vickers and future victor Alexandra Burke. Even so, no-one expected her to leave as early as the fifth week, especially with Ricky Gervais lookalike Daniel Evans still knocking around.

The X Factor isn't only about the wide-eyed hopefuls with ambition/potential/comedy value. Ready to cheerily steal their thunder are a revolving door of well-established musical guests who give a special performance during the live shows.
Only the best of the best are ever offered this prime opp, though, so after more deliberation than Cheryl picking who to save (including a cry of "ah cannae choose between 'em!"), we present the seven who most definitely made the cut.
1. Rihanna – Diamonds
Ri-Ri's such a regular fixture she almost has her own fridge shelf at the X Factor Wembley studios. Her performances are generally quite strange – involving everything from hanging out on hairdryers to surreal food fights – but we were totally transfixed when she premiered 'Diamonds'. The voice! The rain! The high drama! We need a sit-down after that.

Brotherly love is tested to the limit on this week's episode of Keep It In The Family, as Jedward face off against each other in an attempt to avoid a dunking.
The twins do their best to persuade a young contestant to spare them from a short fall into a tank of water in a new clip from the ITV show.
One of the singers tries to sell a trip to a safari park, while the other bigs up a spin on the London Eye.
This week's show also sees host Bradley Walsh look on as Jason Gardiner and Lisa Riley take a plunge.
Keep It In The Family continues on Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
Elsewhere, Jedward gave some surprisingly blunt - and unsurprisingly daft - answers in a Digital Spy '60 Seconds' interview recently.

The X Factor wrapped up filming on its auditions yesterday, and you know what that means - the show's even closer to being back! And boy, what a treat we're in for if these previous auditions are anything to go by.
The audition stages always throw up some weird and wonderful acts, so we've collected just 13 of the best (and most bonkers) that remind us why we're so excited about The X Factor's return...
1. George Gerasimou (and Dermot telling him off)
Where do we even start? This is one of our favourite auditions ever. It starts off on a positive note as George explains that he has grown up since his awful try-out with Triple Trouble - but then as soon as Gary calls an early stop to the music, George kicks off big time, snarling all the while, and his mate joins him on stage to back him up.

Jedward’s hair-raising cameo in Sharknado’s third instalment – out this week – is already making the world a richer place
Who could have possibly known that the 2011 series of Celebrity Big Brother would rewrite cinematic history? For that series would go on to birth a creative partnership, the likes of which the world hadn’t seen since a young Robert De Niro first met up-and-coming director Martin Scorsese.
You see, Celebrity Big Brother 2011 will now go down in history as the moment where Tara Reid first met her future Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No co-stars Jedward. Who could have known, as they innocently bonded over grocery lists and the unilateral awfulness of Sally Bercow, that just a few short years later we’d be watching Reid and Jedward fend off a swirl of bloodthirsty yet unconvincingly rendered airborne sharks together?

Never Mind the Buzzcocks has been cancelled after 28 series, with the BBC confirming the much-loved show will not be returning.
The ingenious - and often hilarious - pop music panel quiz arrived on screens way back in 1996, and ran for over 260 episodes.
Hosts including Mark Lamarr, Simon Amstell and Rhod Gilbert have appeared alongside team captains Phil Jupitus, Sean Hughes, Bill Bailey and Noel Fielding. Here are some of the greatest moments.
1. Boys will be boys!
Preston took an immediate dislike to being described by Simon Amstell as a "professional celebrity" on introduction, before Amstell joked that his band The Ordinary Boys have no fans.
But it was when he began to read extracts from Preston's then-wife Chantelle Houghton's biography - with the line "The photoshoot was for the Daily Mail, which made me feel really posh and upmarket" - that he stormed off the show in disgust.

Former X Factor singer Lucie Jones will appear in this week's Midsomer Murders.
The Welsh model stars in the ITV drama on Wednesday (February 11) as Melody Carver, whose late uncle's song appears to be inspiring a spate of killings.
Folk singer Seth Lakeman will also appear in the episode 'The Ballad of Midsomer County', for which he has provided a brand new song of the same name.
Jones said: "I have acted on stage but I've never been given the opportunity to do TV acting before so I didn't expect to get anything from the audition. I was very nervous so when I got the job it was amazing.
"On the first day of filming I was absolutely terrified but the director Renny Rye was my rock. He was so patient with me, offering quiet advice when needed and giving me a boost when things were tough

The Voice UK will feature a blind audition from Sheridan Smith's brother this weekend.
Damian Dalton Smith, a 39-year-old from Gainsborough, performs Johnny Cash's 'Folsom Prison Blues' in an attempt to make the coaches turn for him on Saturday night's episode.
Smith, who works as a self-employed painter and tiler, is the lead vocalist of a band called The Torn - and one of their songs was heavily featured on Jamie Oliver's Food Tube Channel.
This weekend's auditions will also see the return of eccentric act Si Genaro, who tried out for the blind auditions last series.
This time around, Genaro - who says he is in demand for gigs and selfies following his appearance last year - performs 'Falling Slowly' from Once, in an attempt to make it through to the next round.
Elsewhere, Keedie Green - who previously featured on a number two single with Duncan James from Blue,...

Watch out Katie Hopkins, Katie Price has officially entered the building...
The former glamour model has been unveiled as the new Celebrity Big Brother housemate following tonight's live eviction (January 16) and we're anticipating what's going to kick off between the pair.
Will they be at each others' throats throughout, or become CBB's most unlikely chums since Jedward and Tara Reid or Dappy and Jim Davidson?
Katie Price and Katie Hopkins definitely have one thing in common - making inappropriate and controversial comments.
But who is the most offensive? We attempt to measure with their most offensive quotes below:
Katie Price on poor old Danny Cipriani's manhood in an extract from autobiography Love, Lipstick and Lies:
"In my experience he was a bit - erm – lean in the most obvious departments. That's why I nicknamed him Danny Chipolata. He can no longer hit any of the right spots on the rugby...

But it wasn't actually this winning moment that made January's CBB so captivating - instead, it was Lee Ryan's inability to keep it in his pants (and Casey Batchelor's mum shrieking: "He's mugging you off,...

And so it's over. Ben Haenow has been crowned the winner of The X Factor after months of auditions and more auditions and Boot Camp and Judges' Houses and live shows. Now what?
Well, we're not quite ready to say goodbye just yet, so we've collected some of our favourite moments of the series. We're not talking performances as such - we're talking all the silly sideshow bits and bobs that have made this series. Are any as good as Jedward doing their own backing vocals or Rachel Adedeji falling over? We'll leave that up to you to decide.
So without further ado, here they are, in no particular order...
1. Only The Young shouty man
We're not quite sure when we started noticing Only The Young shouty man, but that's just because it feels like he's always been there. The over-exuberant supporter has invaded our consciousness to such an extent...

The X Factor kicked off its two-night finale on Saturday (December 13) as the final three each performed two songs.
Social media was abuzz as Fleur East, Ben Haenow and Andrea Faustini each attempted to achieve X Factor glory, with Faustini ultimately being eliminated ahead of tomorrow's finale.
Digital Spy rounds up reaction to night one of The X Factor's finale below:
1. Take That's opening of the show with the three finalists brought questions about the band auditioning new members:
Just looking away from TV and thought that wasn't a great start for an X Factor finalist then realised it was Gary Barlow!

Jake Quickenden has been confirmed to be entering the jungle in ITV's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.
Just four weeks ago, Jake was singing as a finalist in The X Factor before being the fifth act to be eliminated from the competition.
This got us thinking. This must be the quick(enden)est time that an X Factor finalist has found themselves on a different reality TV show so far - but which other acts traded series after attempting to secure a contract with Syco? Here they all are in order of time taken to do so.
1. Jake Quickenden (4 weeks)
Series: 2014
Finished: 12th
After reaching the Judges' Houses in 2012, Quickenden made it to the final 16 this year. He tried desperately to prove that he wasn't just a pretty face with a ripped physique, but it hasn't taken him long to get his kit off for his pre-I'm a Celebrity photoshoot.

Bob Geldof shuffled onto the X Factor stage last night and apologised to the "X Factor nation" for something on the ITV singing competition that was "harrowing and not suited to an entertainment show".
It turned out that he was referring to footage of Ebola victims ahead of the Band Aid 30 premiere, rather than Saturday night's Big Band Week, but you probably understand our confusion.
Does anyone other than Simon Cowell actually enjoy Big Band Week? In the early days of X Factor, making the acts wheel out some corny Rat Pack covers actually felt worthwhile as it was the only sort of record that most of them would ever get to make. A Mother's Day record of sub-Bublé covers.
However, somewhere around series 3 or 4 when the show tried to gain an air of musical credibility, the Big Band theme has felt like an awkward sibling. A throwback to the years of Brookstein,...

It's Fright Night on The X Factor this week and boy, wouldn't you know it! It might be a relatively new institution, but Halloween Week on The X Factor is always guaranteed to bring us brilliant performances - and some nightmare-inducing ones, too. It was, after all, Halloween Week which brought us Gary Barlow's infamous "fag ash breath" comment.

It's not quite the Manhattan Project, but constructing an eight-piece boyband on the fly at Boot Camp was a pretty daring experiment for The X Factor.
After finally getting a name, Stereo Kicks outlasted their "main rivals" Overload Generation, but found themselves in the bottom three after a lacklustre performance on "1980s" Week.
"It's hard for me, because when a boy group comes out you feel hysteria in the room - and I don't get that with you," complained Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
"You can all sing, but I'm distracted. I'm not focused."
An Xtra Factor caller suggested to show boss Simon Cowell that eight people is just too many to connect with in a boyband. He replied that he has to "try different things".
Incredibly, Louis Walsh then appeared to throw his own group under the bus, teasing some sort of slimming down or split in the group.

Well, it was something of a tortuous process, to put it mildly, but Louis Walsh has finally managed to name his Top 6 Groups on The X Factor.
But only three of them can make it through to the Live Shows, and we think Louis is probably going to need some help picking. So that's where you come in – let us know who you want to see progress past Judges' Houses!
Here's a quick reminder of the Top 6 groups:
1. The Brooks
The Young Ones
15-year-old twins The Brooks from Cardiff – Kyle and Josh, fact fans – are certainly very sweet. But they've not had an awful lot of screen time, so will that count against them?
2. Blonde Electric
The Divisive Ones
Blonde Electric are very much the Marmite of the Groups this year. Having been described as a female Jedward, it's definitely a love-or-hate situation. Louis nearly sent them home, before realising...

After only four weeks of X Factor we're already starting to develop unhealthy obsessions with acts that we love and acts that we love to hate.
Next month we'll be heading to the Live Shows and we've already got a good idea of who we'd love to see getting a glitzy makeover and a bellowing Peter Dickson introduction.
Here are 9 acts we'd love to see every Saturday night this autumn.
1. Raign
Cheryl Cole's Kryptonite and nemesis, Raign is about as naturally likeable as a sharp kick in your naughty bits. But that's also what makes her so incredibly perfect for the Live Shows.
With an ego that would make even Simon Cowell blush, this melodramatic eccentric is exactly the sort of person the show's missed in recent years. Put it this way, we'd rather have Raign than a dozen Nicholas McDonalds.
2. Jake Quickenden

Who thought we'd ever reach the day that we'd be watching The X Factor and wonder, 'Seriously, I'd love to hear what Louis Walsh thinks.'
The X Factor's club mascot has barely been seen in the first five episodes of the new series, reduced merely to giggling and guffawing on the sidelines at every Simon Cowell one-liner, as if the high-trousered one is the lovechild of Eric Morecambe and Tommy Cooper.
If Walsh has barely been noticable, Dermot O'Leary has been like a TV version of Where's Wally. There hasn't even been room for his famous bulge to spin its way onto the screen.
On the Live Shows, he may be more slick than scintillating, but he's not even had the chance to wheel out his usual monster hugs at the auditions this year. Poor old Derm's been reduced to a role shorter than James Arthur's record career.

The X Factor duo Blonde Electric have dismissed comparisons to Jedward.

It's been four years since Simon Cowell was last on the X Factor panel in the UK. In his last series, he introduced the world to One Direction, the ratings were sky high and his show was the only thing people talked about on Monday morning at work.
He returns, after having his Us version of the show flop and dumped, to find that The X Factor is no longer the dominant force in British television.
BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing now reigns supreme in the ratings war and the tabloids and British public seem more interested in melting frozen Alaskas and Mary Berry's opinion on soggy bottoms than his reunion with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini behind the judges' desk.
Series 11 of The X Factor is the biggest challenge that Cowell has faced since he first controversially launched the show, spinning off his new found superstar status on Pop Idol.

As if anyone actually prefers all these boring people being all breathy...
Dermot O'Leary was on hand to give contestants like Blonde Electric, Amy Connelly and Charlie Jones a confidence boost before they faced the judges.
Digital Spy rounds up social media reaction to The X Factor's series premiere below:
Blonde Electric managed to both annoy and entertain the judges. Did someone say new Jedward?
Ok... I'm seriously freaking out.. So nervous about our audition on #XFactor... Butterflies in my stomach... More like moths!!!... Xo Ruby

The X Factor has helped launch the career of dozens of pop acts over the last decade. It has also given us Chico Time. You win some, you lose some.
Here is our definitive ranking of the 15 most ludicrous acts to ever grace Saturday nights on ITV.
15. Rylan
Rylan was already a regular on the reality TV circuit before The X Factor (he was a runner-up in the Sky Living monstrosity Signed By Katie Price), and he was a little bit more knowing and calculated than genuinely bonkers.
However, even if those floods of tears at Nicole Scherzinger's Judges' Houses were staged, they were staged brilliantly. The perfect I'm-mad-me contestant after a decade of near misses.
14. 2 Shoes
Charley Bird and Lucy Texeira were harmless and fairly innocuous as a pop duo. They spoke only in Essex slang ("Roll!") and insisted on calling each other "shoe", but the most ludicrous...

Matt Edmondson's brand new show TV Od kicked off last night - as he brought our attention to the best internet comments about our favourite telly. But is Matt really the man for the job? We wanted to test that by giving him some comments and getting him to guess the show. How well did he do? And can you guess the show from the comment?
1. Let's start with this."This programme makes girls look like right psychopaths" - @geerattt and "How do they not drown the f**kers" - @Chloe_Marie3x
"Is it Ex On The Beach?"
Yep!
"They don't make just girls look like right psychopaths, they make everyone look like psychopaths. They also make everyone look the same. It's like all the men are built from the same factory. But I love it. I'm obsessed with it. I think we might do Ex On The...

It was nervous and shellshocked Big Brother contestants who used to be told "it's all panto", but the phrase could just as easily apply to The X Factor. The singing behemoth has always been an over-the-top production, a ludicrous parade of contestants and a fantasy world of dance routines and sparkly outfits. To be honest, that's part of why we love it - it just wouldn't be as much fun without a bit of excess, would it? But it's also why The X Factor seems to lend itself to the exuberant world of the stage.
I Can't Sing! has been dogged by pre-opening night problems - cancelled shows, technical problems (understandable, given the truly impressive set) - but now that it's finally flung its doors open to the wider public, is it actually any good? Well, sometimes. But the first thing to know is that this is not your standard...

Way way back in August, James Arthur seemed like a pretty nice bloke, Busted and McFly were two separate entities and mugs weren't terrified of Huey Morgan.
A lot can change in four months. Who'd have thought that the two final acts standing on The X Factor 2013 would be a 36-year-old mum-of-two and a wee Scottish lad with as much charisma as Shane Filan?
But heck, you voted for 'em! So join Digital Spy for the final time from 7.30pm, as we kill time before Sam Bailey wins watch nervously to see whether Sam or Nicholas McDonald will be crowned your champion...
21:29Anyway, that's all, folks! Hope you enjoyed this series, and we'll be back at the same time, same place next year. Goodnight!
21:29Come 2014, we should try and remember that Bailey's isn't just for Christmas. Sam is talented and lovely enough to get a proper career outta this,...
