Sure, Bill Murray might be in the comedy pantheon today. But back in the '70s he was just another dude trying to crash a star-studded bash – and Andy Warhol was not impressed.
Murray, 65, participated in a Reddit Ama chat on Wednesday to promote his latest film, Rock the Kasbah, and got characteristically frank and funny when asked to name the best party he ever crashed – which of course involved the legendary party-loving pop artist.
"We crashed a famous party called the subway party to celebrate the premiere of Tommy," he said. "It was Gilda Radner, Belushi, Harold Ramis, Joe Flaherty,...

At ABC‘s upfront, there were a few things that the network wanted to make sure you knew. 1) They are really impressed with the idea that people are going to watch Rebel Wilson do just about anything, and 2) There isn’t anything they’re happier about than bringing you more episodes of television created by Shonda Rhimes.
On these notes, the network would love for you to know that more Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal are coming your way. These, ABC would like to impress upon you (as advertisers) are really good shows. Because… hellllooo… so many people watch them that we’re bringing them back. But wait, don’t think that you’re as excited as you can get yet, because if those are your favorite shows, then we have a new one for you to fall in love with, Betrayal.

TV’s biggest night has arrived, and while there’s been no movement on my personal pet project of getting Vanessa Williams a retroactive Emmy for her four seasons of brilliant work as Ugly Betty‘s Wilhelmina Slater, we’ll nevertheless have plenty of additional action to anticipate.
Will Mad Men score a record fifth consecutive Emmy for Best Drama Series? Can Modern Family make it a three-peat in the Best Comedy Series category? Will someone bring unscripted LOLs or rampant foolery to the podium? And who’s holding onto Amanda Bynes’ keys?
In the midst of keeping one eye...

The CW is making some real changes this fall. In fact, every night of the network’s schedule will be different. Bet you expected The Carrie Diaries in the fall, right? The Vampire Diaries to be paired with Arrow, perhaps? Supernatural to stay on Fridays? Buzzzt!

The Amazing Race 19.12 "Go Out and Get It Done" Review
Going into the finale of The Amazing Race, I really wasn't sure who was going to pull out a win and take home the million dollars. In last week's episode, Andy and Tommy, who had dominated this season by winning six legs, were booted out after not understanding the final clue, so "Go Out and Get It Done" was going to come down to a middling team on a hot streak and two teams that had a tendency to fall behind in every leg due to stupid mistakes. Not the most glamorous of match ups, right?
But if there's one positive thing I can say about the finale of The Amazing Race 19, it's that the teams actually got to race unencumbered by maddening time equalizers and the right pair ended up winning as a result. Too often in recent seasons,...

The finale of Season 19 of The Amazing Race, "Go Out And Get It Done," had the potential to be awesome... but was quickly devoid of excitement. The race designers put together a challenging leg that could have been very dynamic, yet two key mistakes eliminated any drama.
In recent seasons, the final leg has been known for having a great challenge. That is, some activity that regular people would not be able to do unless they were on something like a television show. In addition to being fun, often the challenge proved to be difficult and potentially race determining.
This season was no different, with what we can only assume was the fun Lear Jet simulator. Although the challenge did not determine the winner, it did eliminate one team. Jeremy and Sandy completed it on their first attempt and Ernie and Cindy only failed once. Amani and Marcus needed twelve tries,...

It was bound to be a season of high drama on the The Amazing Race. The teams hadn't even left the States at the start of the competition when a missing-passport mishap threatened to send one pair of competitors home before their race across the world even began. The winning duo covered four continents, 20 cities and nearly 40,000 miles in their quest to beat out two other fiercely competitive teams - but not before the season's biggest shocker last week with the elimination of Olympian snowboarders Tommy Szechin, 31, and Andy Finch, 30, who seemed to have a lock on the win after snagging six leg-victories.

I can't believe Andy and Tommy aren't in this to win anymore--i thought they'd win the whole thing! But I have to get over it, because The Amazing Race 19 is down to its final three, which does not include professional snowboarders. It does, however, have three couples: a dating couple, an engaged couple, and a married couple.
Jeremy and Sandy won the last leg, so they are first to depart Panama City for Atlanta, Georgia. "Now we're going to Atlanta, this sucks," Sandy says. Yes, I imagine it does! Marcus and Amani are from Atlanta, so they have an advantage, but it also sucks because they're going to Atlanta.

Next Sunday night, the 19th installment of "The Amazing Race" will be won by either Ernie & Cindy, Jeremy & Sandy or Marcus & Amani. Chances are good, though, that when fans of the show look back on the season, most of the memories will center on snowboarders Andy Finch and Tommy Czeschin. Andy & Tommy won six of the season's first 10 Legs and in the 11th, they held what turned out to be too prohibitive of a lead when they approached the final clue before the Pit Stop. After dominating The Amazing Race this season — winning six legs — Andy Finch and Tommy Czeschin seemed like locks for the final. But taxi luck reared its head again: As they squandered their huge lead, the cab drivers of the other three teams chatted and drove them all to the Pit Stop, ensuring that the former Olympic snowboarders will get the boot — with the dubious honor of having the highest average placement at elimination in all 19 seasons, natch. "It was definitely ironic that our lead ended up hurting us," Tommy tells TVGuide.com. "But it's true reality. Those guys were just in the right place at the right time with the right taxi drivers, and we weren't." See what else they have to say about their surprising elimination, if they got their Mustangs yet, and which team they want to race against.

We're down to just four teams vying for a place in the final three for this season of The Amazing Race and, once again, snowboarders Andy & Tommy are leaving in first place following their sixth leg win (although they've apparently spent all night customizing the Mustangs they won last week rather than sleeping). They are given a box which contains a costume (black suits, white shirts, mustaches) and a picture of a man dressed as TinTin. The key is to figure out which TinTin characters they are (the detectives) and then find the man dressed as TinTin (who is nearby) and tell him what they have learned. Andy & Tommy do some research online and seem to think they are dressed as Charlie Chaplin, while the other teams have more luck in asking people on the street who they are and where they can find TinTin. It means Ernie & Cindy, Jeremy...

The Amazing Race 19.11 "We Are Charlie Chaplin" Review
Since the dawn of time (or, well, season 1), The Amazing Race has always let luck creep into the equation, sometimes to its detriment. To be able to prance on the lawns of America with Phil Keoghan at the end of an around the world journey, one typically has to have some mixture of tenacity, intelligence, and versatility, with a healthy sprinkle of luck for good measure. While earlier seasons emphasized the first three pretty heavily, allowing the last to assume its necessary and natural role when need be, recent seasons have seen the importance of cab drivers eclipse the importance of just about anything. Who you get to drive you around a gorgeous foreign city can sometimes be the deciding factor in a leg, something that has stretched into finals and cost teams hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Talk about a shocker! In tonight's episode of The Amazing Race, the field was whittled down to the final three teams that will compete for the million-dollar prize in next week's finale. Obviously, that's not the shocking part. (We all know how reality shows work.) So what happened—and which teams are left in the running? Read on if you want to know... Luck was not on Andy and Tommy's side in Panama as the pro snowboarders who've dominated the competition this entire season were sent packing. After spending most of the episode's race in the lead, Andy and Tommy's downfall came at the hands of some chatty cab drivers. The cabbies in Panama City were all friendly with each...

What fans of the series were treated to here spanned the gamut of emotions, culminating in one of the most dramatic finishes ever.
The first challenge of the leg gave the promise of one filled with twists and turns. Clues that require the teams to talk to the locals and use some problem solving are always far more interesting than any that essentially say: Go here. As expected, one team, Andy and Tommy, were unable to get the clue correct and fell from first to last.

Whenever a new leg of 'The Amazing Race' (Sun., 8Pm Et on CBS) starts, you have to forget what came before. New challenges often lead to new emerging leaders. But one thing has been pretty consistent on this season. Andy and Tommy have had the luckiest run, helping elevate them to six first-place finishes. And Cindy has been so jealous of their success.
She's the kind of crazed perfectionist and competitive personality that makes her fun to watch on the 'Race,' but also makes you think she'd probably drive you crazy in the real world. Actually, she kind of drives me a bit crazy on the show, too. Sometimes you just want to tell her to relax and enjoy the experience.

The Amazing Race 19.10 "Release the Brake!" Review
Was it just me or was that by far the best episode of The Amazing Race this season?
I mean, it hasn't had a whole lot of serious challengers in that regard, but "Release the Brake!" managed to cut down on some of the show's idiosyncrasies while highlighting what can make an episode of The Amazing Race such good TV. Going into the episode, however, I have to say that I was a little disenchanted with the idea of this being the second part to an unnecessary two-part leg, but once it got going, it more than made up for that fact.
Failing to utilize a time equalizing bit of trans-production interference or brutally simple challenges for one of the first times all season, "Release the Brake!" instead gave us solid tasks, little obvious show interjection, and gorgeous scenery. It was a more...

We’re getting down to the end of the 19th season of The Amazing Race and the four remaining teams have certainly earned their spot. This week’s episode, "Release the Brake," challenged the duos to prove they still belong.
Towards the end of the episode, with elimination seemingly inevitable, Bill said that he and Cathi likely surprised themselves will how long they stuck around. Safe to say they surprised 95% of us watching the show. Finally they encountered a leg that was difficult, long and lacked a catch up point for the older couple and it did them in.
That’s not to try to take anything away from “Ma and Pa,” as they were affectionately nicknamed by their fellow racers. Only once were they the beneficiaries of luck; just the one non-elimination leg at the very beginning of the race. They had two second place finishes with one of them after being double U-turned.

After last week's non-elimination, continuous leg of 'The Amazing Race' (Sun., 8Pm Et on CBS), the action never let up as the five remaining teams continued fighting their way through Europe. With raft-building, pigeon chasing, waffle making and test driving, the adrenaline never let up.
The challenge that only allowed one of the contestants to navigate the test course in a new Ford Mustang left Andy jealous when partner Tommy was selected to drive. As a car enthusiast, he was really bummed to miss out on that great opportunity.

As I watch each season of The Amazing Race, I wonder if the show will ever get stale. There are times when it seems like episode after episode follows the same format: Clue-Roadblock-Detour-Pit Stop.
But any worries were thrown out the window with this week’s episode, "It's Speedo Time." The leg did a great job of mixing up the types of challenges the teams faced, where they had to go and how they had to get there. We were even treated to what was almost a major mistake.
Initially, I was worried about the leg. The teams started with a reasonably simple Roadblock that was following the format many episodes follow. Any resemblance to a regular episode ended immediately thereafter.
Traveling to Legoland was a great place to visit. Andy said “I was a Lego maniac as a kid, so I was psyched” and I couldn’t have agreed more.

It's goodbye to Malawi and hello to Europe on the eighth leg of The Amazing Race, as the teams have to fly to Copenhagen, Denmark for the first time in the show's history. Andy & Tommy are the first to depart and note that the other teams "aren't smiling as much" at them anymore given all their leg wins. Ernie & Cindy are next (and still unhappy at having last week's first place "stolen" from them). Bill & Cathi, Marcus & Amani, Laurence & Zac and Jeremy & Sandy follow. After flying from Africa to Amsterdam, Laurence has the brainwave to then travel to Denmark via London, meaning that he and Zac will arrive in Copenhagen around 8.30pm that night. Cindy & Ernie suspect something is going on but father and son remain tight-lipped. "Super shady...." says Cindy. She and Ernie join Bill & Cathi on a (more)...

Whether intentional or not, the theme of this week’s episode, "Move Goat," was physicality. Deep in the heart of Africa every aspect to the leg rewarded those who were fit and, most importantly, could make the correct decisions under the stress of exercise. It was awesome.
Shortly in to the leg the difficult nature was obvious. The Roadblock had the selected team member transporting a person on a bike with two seats to a destination both difficult to find and of a significant distance away. The distance speaks for itself in the challenge, but by forcing people to stop and ask for directions the challenge became more difficult because they had to keep restarting.
Next up was Detour where the option was a challenging canoe ride (Dugout) or transporting an obscene amount of cargo off a boat and on to the shore of Lake Malawi (Lugout). The Lugout option...

No matter how great your performance is over the long haul, in the end, all that truly matters on 'The Amazing Race' (Sun., 8Pm Et on CBS) is the final sprint to the finish line.
After leading most of the way, engaged couple Ernie and Cindy started to flag as they neared the end point (possibly because Ernie was also carrying Cindy's pack), but unlucky for them, pro-snowboarding team Andy and Tommy were hot on their heels.
In the end, it came down to a matter of inches between the winning team and second place, which made it all the more frustrating for the losers.

The Amazing Race is in Africa again this week. But This time, someone will be eliminated. And there will be a Double U Turn! A W Turn! Teams spent the night on the beds they carried. Andy and Tommy, who came in first, were in good spirits about it, unlike some of the other teams.
The snowboarders leave first for a bus ride to Salima. Justin and Jennifer leave next, followed by Jeremy and Sandy, and Laurence & Zac. They have $1 for this leg of the race. Ernie and Cindy leave next, and they are keeping an eye on Andy and Tommy, especially with that Double U Turn. Bill and Cathi leave, and Amani & Marcus leave last. They resolve to pay attention to the details.

This week’s episode of The Amazing Race, "We Love Your Country Already; It Is Very Spacious," was filled with many of the things we love about the show. Exotic locations, beautiful scenery, emotional moments and even a fun twist at the end.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t too much drama. So long as the teams could follow instructions – admittedly, not a guarantee – there were only minimal opportunities to gain ground on anyone in front of you.
The prime example of this tenant for this week was Amani and Marcus. The duo got off the plane in sixth place, did both challenges flawlessly and finished seventh. The only reason they dropped in the standings were because of two poor cab rides.
Point being, I would hope that the challenges live up to their name and are actually challenging enough where if teams complete them quickly, they gain ground on ones who don’t.

For as much negativity as I've talked about The Amazing Race this season, I have to begrudgingly give credit where credit is due. "We Love Your Country Already; It Is Very Spacious", while still very flawed, may have been the best episode of the show's 19th season and I was entertained during a vast majority of what went on.
I don't think the rest of the season had given Sunday night's episode much in the way of a bar to clear, but still, "We Love Your Country" managed to capture a tiny spark of what makes The Amazing Race such good television when it's on its game. The challenges were, shockingly enough, not offensively easy, which went a long way toward my enjoyment of the episode. I probably should hate something like Tobacco Bumper Cars (Tm), as it was all about physicality and quickness while vaguely hinting at the possibility of puzzledom,...

Andy & Tommy are the first to depart (again) this week from the floating village, being told to travel by local taxi to what appears to be an elephant preserve where they will travel on an Asian elephant up a river to find their next clue. "If we win The Amazing Race I'm buying an elephant," says Andy. "They can do some serious four-wheeling!" At the river, Andy & Tommy find a roadblock waiting. They have to follow the sound of a traditional flautist to a waterfall where their next clue would be waiting. It's a game of rock, paper, scissors which determines that Andy's the one who will be diving into the murky pool to find the clue. And he does it pretty quickly. The clue tells them to travel by taxi to a local shop where they will disassemble a Thai shrine called a Spirit House and deliver the...

We don’t know how many teams are in front of us and how many teams are behind us.
Without knowing it, Marcus’ comment while riding in to Bangkok turned out to be perfect foreshadowing for a tremendous ending to the leg. The 19th season of The Amazing Race has been a lot of fun and this week’s episode, "I Feel Like I'm In The Circus," continued that trend.
Despite a solid start to the leg which included an unexpected back to back Roadblock the real drama for this week did not occur until the last third of the leg. With the aforementioned two Roadblocks complete the teams scrambled to find bus transportation for a 500 mile trip to Bangkok. There were plenty of options and the separation and confusion that occurred because of those options gave us our phenomenal finish.
In terms of shaking up the standings at that time,...

One of the biggest complaints I've had about Emmy powerhouse The Amazing Race is that the results have increasingly been determined not by the performance of a team in that leg's road block/detour but more logistical errors that render said challenges pretty irrelevant. It doesn't make as much of a difference in the grander scheme of things, considering how frustratingly simple the detours and road blocks have gotten in recent years, but for a show with as strong a pedigree as The Amazing Race has to let cab drivers and plane tickets trump the supposedly amazing part of your race is pretty maddening.
"I Feel Like I'm in the Circus" is arguably the most prime example of this phenomenon thus far in the season, as the two road blocks had absolutely no effect on the outcome of the race. I understand that there are other factors that determine who wins The Amazing Race,...

On a random December night in 2001, I stumbled across the finale of the very first The Amazing Race and was immediately hooked. This week’s episode, "This Is Gonna Be A Fine Mess," returned to one of the coolest places visited in that first season: Phuket, Thailand.
Many things about the race have changed since that first season. There’s usually only one Fast Forward per season now vs. one every week back then. U-Turns, Express Passes and Speed Bumps would not be created for several seasons.
Far more has changed for Phuket, Thailand. As mentioned on the show, the deadly tsunami that ravaged Thailand in 2004 devastated Phuket and much of the tourist places in Thailand. For a country that relies so heavily on tourism, the impact was greater than it would have been in many other areas of the world.
Only seven years have passed since the tsunami and...

First coined by sociologist Robert Merton, the self-fulfilling prophecy is a concept that involves expectations forming reality. If one chooses to define their situation a certain way, the reality of their definition will eventually come to fruition, which is often a fairly negative ordeal.
In a nutshell, if you think something will be awful, chances are it'll be awful, which can easily transfer to television.
When I first saw that the title of Sunday's episode of The Amazing Race was "This is Gonna Be a Fine Mess", I had to laugh because, like America's Next Top Model last season, the show was just taunting me. It's been a lackluster season of the race, characterized by lame challenges, static running order plagued by time equalizers, and a lack of charismatic, root-able teams in which to invest in. If you're going to title your episode something about a "fine mess", you're just asking for it,...

Last time, twins Liz and Marie just barely scraped by into eighth place, and Cathi fell down, but it was showgirls Kaylani and Lisa who were out. The Amazing Race teams are headed for Phuket, Thailand, which is pronounced poo-ket, even though it looks like it could be something naughty. Laurence pronounces it "Pucket," which is charming on him.
Andy and Tommy find out that there's no direct flight to Phuket, so they go to Jakarta first, with Laurence and Zac in tow. I hope they're right. Are you drinking along tonight? Because the twins are already talking in unison, Andy and Tommy are extraordinarily relaxed, and Bill and Cathi are talking about their age!

This week’s episode of The Amazing Race, "Don't Lay Down on Me Now," was certainly the best of this short season and definitely one of the best in quite a while.
Installments such as this - where we find ourselves on the edge of our seat and cheering for teams - is why The Amazing Race is such an awesome show.
There are a number of elements that make up a great episode and this week hit them all. Let’s break them down.
The most important factor is uncertainty and dynamics. This week was packed with both culminating and a phenomenal finish. The roadblock challenge at the end of the leg gave any team an opportunity to catch up, regardless of how far behind they were.
Case in point? Amani and Marcus , who fell behind because of taxi cab issues, but still managed a sixth place finish. Sure,...

Although I hate to admit it, I gained a little bit of optimism about The Amazing Race after last week's entertaining-but-still-flawed double elimination episode. However, while it was an improvement over the premiere, it had enough beautiful location shots and mid-race flailing by the teams to where I could (mostly) overlook the easy challenges and generally static positioning. By now, the season would have had a chance to settle in and find its groove, so the third episode would be pivotal in terms of establishing how the remaining legs would be.
If "Don't Lay Down on Me Now" is any indication, we're in for a confusing, frustrating, moderately entertaining finish to The Amazing Race, as it was another weak episode that wiped out whatever sense of optimism I had after episode two. For one, the ambiguity of the clues has to be reigned in a little bit. I actively encourage...

The Amazing Race's latest episode kicks off with previous leg winners Andy and Tommy getting the first clue - the teams will have to fall into formation with a group of local bicycle enthusiasts and ride to a specified destination where the bicycle guard commander will hand over the next clue. As the other teams depart too, Kaylani tells us that she's a single mom and is desperate to do well on the race for her young daughter. Cindy informs us of the prep work that she and Ernie did before leaving on the race, which includes geography and language lessons, while Cathi pokes fun at the age difference between herself and Bill and the rest of the team, and Justin and Jennifer vow to curb their sibling bickering. Amani and Marcus are the last to leave and feeling the pressure. Disaster strikes for Ernie and Cindy on the...

In this third leg, the remaining nine teams on 'The Amazing Race' (Sun., 8Pm Et on CBS) stayed in Indonesia and faced some true 'Tar' challenges. They had to perform physical labor, decipher clues and even count and remember Buddha statues. This means they didn't arrive at the finish in virtually the same order they left it.
!!Spoiler Alert!!
After catapulting to first place thanks to a keen eye last week, though, Andy & Tommy continued a solid and impressive run. They partnered with Laurence & Zac on the finale task, and the two pairs came in first and second for the second week in a row.

We're two teams lighter for this leg of The Amazing Race in Indonesia. It's Ok that Ethan and Jenna are gone, they were loaded down by their existing millions anyway. Did you know that the Dutch colonized Indonesia? I did not. Anyway, the teams will have to go on a Colonial, 1940's bike riding reenactment, courtesy of the Dutch.
Sometimes I feel like The Amazing Race is all about the costumes. Colonial Andy and Tommy have a good time doing all these extraneous bike tricks. Ah, they're so cool and sexy. They're followed by Laurence and Zac, and showgirls Kaylani and Lisa. Ernie and Cindy depart fourth, and they are over-prepared because Cindy is an organizational freak.

Previously on The Amazing Race, we met all the teams, including Ron & Bill representing Team Gay for the season, were introduced to an old Speed Bump dressed up as a new “Hazard” and saw one team's Race saved by social media. After wandering the streets of Taipei for hours, grandparents Bill & Cathi arrived at the Pit Stop last but in a surprise twist were not Philiminated. In another surprise twist we learned that for the first time ever the last two teams to arrive at the next Pit Stop would be Philiminated.
Ernie & Cindy, the first team to arrive at the Pit Stop, left at 9:28 Pm and Bill & Cathi were last out at 3:57 Am, six and a half hours later. Teams raced to the airport to catch a flight to Indonesia. The first flight out wasn't until well on the next morning, so pretty much nothing from Leg 1 ended up mattering.

In all honesty, I wasn't looking forward to this week's episode of The Amazing Race. The show was coming off a premiere that embraced a lot of what has made the last few seasons less enjoyable and if things hadn't improved in the 19th season premiere, this season was already shot, right?
Right?
"The Sprint of Our Life" was a noticeable rebound over "Kindness of Strangers". It may not have been a truly perfect episode of The Amazing Race, but there was enough of a balance between the dizzying twists, intriguing team dynamics, and good ol' fashioned competition that made it a fun watch, at least for me.
The main thing I was excited to see was that the challenges had improved. (That's not saying much considering that the premiere had a challenge where teams used the phone.) The spelunking could have been better had the teams been forced to...

And they are off! The 19th season of The Amazing Race sent eleven teams of two out on a racearoundtheworld for One! Million! Dollars! I had my vodka chilled and ready to go for my own personal Tar Drinking Game. You do a shot every time someone calls their teammate “babe,” you do a shot every time someone says they can't do a task, and every time someone says they're quitting the Race you do a double shot. When Brent and Caite were Racing a few seasons back I almost died of alcohol poisoning.

Ernie & Cindy, engaged
Jeremy & Sandy, dating
Justin & Jennifer, siblings
Ethan & Jenna, dating couple and this season's stunt casting, as both are winners of Survivor

Laurence & Zac, father/son adventurers
Andy & Tommy, pro snowboarders
Ron & Bill, domestic partners, flight attendants...

The Amazing Race kicked off its brand new season tonight with another 11 teams gathering at the pitstart in Southern California in the hopes of making it through 12 gruelling legs and claiming the $$1 million prize. This season's racers are: former Olympic snowboarders Andy and Tommy, former Survivor winners Ethan and Jenna (who want to keep their winning past a secret but are rumbled by some of the other teams), newly-engaged Ernie and Cindy, father-and-son adventurers Lawrence and Zack, siblings Jennifer and Justin, married grandparents Bill and Cathi, twin sisters Liz and Marie, domestic partners Bill and Ron, dating couple Jeremy and Sandy, married couple Amani and Marcus, and former Showgirls Kahlani and Lisa. The first challenge in question is a word puzzle which involves piecing together six letters displayed on a board with three letters found on one of the (more)...

Last season on The Amazing Race, the wheels started to come off the bus more noticeably. Although the show won its 8th Emmy earlier this month, the Unfinished Business season as a whole was pretty underwhelming, with relatively easy challenges, alliance domination like no other season, and a winner that never rose above the pack during any particular part of the show, minus the finale.
Which is why I'm so disappointed in "Kindness of Stranger", the show's 19th season premiere. It seems that instead of tightening up the proceedings, casting strong, capable teams, and getting back to what made the show so great in the first place, the powers that be decided to go in the opposite direction and made the show that much more maddening.
The challenges during the premiere were a little silly and seemed too easy to be getting the response they got from the teams. I...

"The Amazing Race" premieres, kicking off in Los Angeles with their 11 teams of two. Are you excited for the 19th season?
Thoughts during intros:
It's great to see Ethan Zohn of "Survivor" looking so great after his battle with cancer. Love that there is a pair from Stone Mountain, Ga. Isn't that where Kenneth the Page is from on "30 Rock"?The twins need to dial down on the use of "literally." I'm a big Colts fan, so it's great to see Marcus Pollard on the show.
The First Challenge
The winners of the first leg once again win the Express Pass, which they can use up to the end of the eighth leg to skip any challenge. The first challenge is a tricky word puzzle that will reveal their first location (Taipei, Taiwan). The team that's last receives a Hazard penalty, which they have to complete sometime during the first leg.

The Emmy Award-winning race is starting again! This time on The Amazing Race, Olympic snowboarders (Andy and Tommy), Survivor winners (Ethan and Jenna), and sailing record setters (Laurence and Zac) are competing! There's also engaged couple Ernie and Cindy, brother and sister Justin and Jennifer, married grandparents Bill and Cathi, who farm, and Twins (remember that beer commercial?). The twins are named Liz and Marie. The classically good looking dating couple, Jeremy and Sandy, are in the race, along with domestic partners Tom and Bill (go gay couple!), NFL husband and wife Amani and Marcus, and showgirls Kaylani and Lisa filling the token hot team slot.
The Express Pass is back, and goes to the first team to finish this leg. The first challenge is a word puzzle leading them to Taipei, Taiwan. The last team to finish this puzzle receives a new stumbling block: the Hazard. The teams rush...
