Jamie Dornan has joined the cast for the Netflix crime noir series ‘The Undertow’, in which he will take on the double role of twin brothers.
The series is based on the Nordisk Film Production As television series ‘Twin’ created by Kristoffer Metcalfe. Suffocating in a loveless marriage to Adam (Dornan), Nicola’s (Davis) life takes a dramatic turn when Adam’s long-estranged identical twin brother Lee (Dornan) comes crashing back into her life, and their tangled romantic past threatens to destroy the present. A split-second decision and a terrible accident drives Nicola to protect her children, over the course of one week, Lee and Nicola are forced together, struggling to maintain a web of secrets and lies. Though they can’t ignore their feelings for each other, they both know they’re living on borrowed time.

Jamie Dornan will lead the cast of a new crime noir series that has been ordered at Netflix titled “The Undertow,” Variety has learned exclusively.
“The Undertow” is based on the Nordisk Film Production As television series “Twin” created by Kristoffer Metcalfe. Dornan will star in the series as twin brothers Adam and Lee. Along with Dornan, the cast also includes Mackenzie Davis, Iain De Caestecker, and Gary Lewis.

The American Film Institute announced the recipients of the AFI Conservatory Alumni Awards at the 2022 AFI Alumni Reunion. Big Joanie are teasing their newly announced upcoming album, Back Home, with the video for “In My Arms.” The British post-punk group celebrate queer romance and friendship in the clip. The teaser shows a group of women enjoying a day at the carnival and the beach, as the trio, which performs the song in the clip, sings about togetherness and wanting to hold a lover “in my arms” over buoyant guitar and Farfisa organ. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 397 members of the global film community to join the organization, it was announced Tuesday.
Among those who will henceforth be able to vote for the Oscar nominations and winners if they accept, as the vast majority of people who have received invites historically have: newly-minted Oscar winners Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell (music branch) and Ariana DeBose and Troy Kotsur (actors); Paramount chief Brian Robbins and Disney general entertainment chief Dana Walden (executives); and film critic Leonard Maltin (members-at-large).
According to an Academy-provided breakdown of the new invitees, 44 percent are women, 37 percent are non-white and 50 percent are non-Americans (54 different countries are represented). If they all accept, the Academy’s overall membership will be 34 percent female, 19 percent non-white and 23 percent non-American.
