“Top Chef” season 15 ended on March 8, 2018 with host Padma Lakshmi revealing the winner chosen by two renowned chefs — Tom Colicchio and Graham Elliot — and award-winning food writer Gail Simmons. To be showcased on this Emmy-winning show for months on end has boosted the profile of all previous 14 winners of “Top Chef.”
We wanted to know what happened to these 14 folks in the years since they took the title. We did some digging and discovered that some of them are running their own restaurants while others work for established locations or freelance.
In the photo gallery above and the text below, we recap each of the first 14 seasons of “Top Chef,” noting the locations, the judges and other finalists. And we update the resumes of all of the winning chefs.

The newest season of Top Chef Masters started last week, and Top Chef New Orleans, the show's 11th season is slated to run this fall. We've got Top Chef on the brain, and our thoughts traveled, as they always do, to hierarchy.
Let's be brutally honest -- some Top Chef winners were just better than others -- both in the dishes they made under intense pressure on-camera, and in their ability to just act like a human being toward the people around them. We know that emotional tenderness doesn't always belong in a restaurant kitchen, but there's a difference between acting like a tough competitor and acting like a garbage-y person. It should also be said that anyone who can manage to cook something edible under those conditions without setting the whole kitchen on fire out of either carelessness or rage has earned quite a bit of our respect. Even...

They've arrived in the Bahamas - and not for a vacation. Five chefs were left to battle it out in the Top Chef finale in an episode that supplied one heated Quickfire challenge and an actual fire. Immediately faced with the chefs who defeated them on their original seasons, the finalists - Richard Blais, Tiffany Derry, Antonia Lofaso, Carla Hall and Mike Isabella - were fighting for redemption and $10,000 in the challenge, which found them using proteins hand-selected by Tom Colicchio. While each of the five had plenty to prove, Tiffany got a major boost from besting Kevin Sbraga, who...

After 14 episodes and a Singaporian show down of epic proportions, there's a new Top Chef out there in culinary land -- 31-year-old Kevin Sbraga of New Jersey.
And, while the other two men did their best to capture the title (and the prizes), in the end, as Tom Colicchio bemoaned, only one could be crowned the winner.
"This is a life changer," Sbraga said after Padma Lakshmi announced that he was the winner of 'Top Chef: DC.' "My career's been good, but this could make it great. Could make it incredible."

Kevin Sbraga won Top Chef DC, becoming the show's first black winner. He won the finale in Singapore because he "took the most risks but also cooked the best meal," Tom Colicchio explained after the three finalists prepared a meal with the same proteins and a required dessert. Earlier, Padma said, "I think we have a clear winner," and the other judges agreed. For me, the biggest surprised of the season came at the very...

Kevin Sbraga was as shocked as he looked last night when Padma Lakshmi announced he was the winner of Top Chef. "The way they announced it last season was a little bit different and I was thinking about that," the New Jersey native told me earlier today. "They told Kevin Gillespie he was not the Top Chef first and I wasn't sure if that's what she was saying to me or not." What's Sbraga doing with the $125,000 prize, is Angelo as big-headed as he appeared and what's up with the name of the restaurant he works at now? Read on to find out... The finale was shot a few weeks ago. Hard to keep it a secret? It isn't hard to keep my mouth shut. Yeah, I was excited by it,...

On last night’s season-ender in Singapore, Kevin Sbraga, the 31-year-old chef from Hamilton, N.J., was named the 7th Top Chef, beating two New York-based contestants — Asian-leaning Angelo Sosa and “French housewife” Ed Cotton. The Top Chef finale Wednesday night asked the three remaining contestants -- Angelo Sosa, Ed Cotton and Kevin Sbraga -- to whip up the most important meal of their lives. But where was the drama -- and the suspense? True, Angelo was down for the count, sidelined with a nasty stomach bug that threatened to take him out of the competition before he could hit the kitchen one last time. But Ed was coming off two back-to-back victories and seemed unbeatable, while Kevin just grumbled that he hoped Angelo would recover so he could take on a worthy adversary. In the end,...

Kevin Sbraga has been named the winner of Top Chef: DC. The 31-year-old from Willingboro, NJ triumphed over fellow finalists Angelo Sosa and Ed Cotton in Wednesday night's season finale of the Bravo competition. He seemed stunned when Padma Lakshmi announced his name, saying: "I am?" His response prompted Tom Colicchio to say: "Best reaction ever." "I just wanted to make sure," he later explained in a video posted on the show's official website. "There was shock in it. I just wanted to clarify, not be excited and then not. "So many things are happening at that moment, you have butterflies, it's just crazy. There is really nothing to express the way you feel. You are happy and sad, you feel everything. I'm happy I won, it's exciting and life changing but I also feel bad for the other guys, I (more)...

Well, Top Chef fans, we’ve finally reached the end of another season. I know many of you have bemoaned how much the last 13 weeks dragged on, but on some levels, it flew by for me. Without a deep connection to the cheftestants, and with Tiffany (Aka the only hope for a happy ending) booted just before the finale, I was freed up from the usual anxiety that comes from having a strong rooting interest. Stir in a plethora of unanswered questions (mail-order bride or not?), and I found there was even less reason to emotionally invest.
But, hey, just...

"Top Chef: DC" comes to a suspenseful close with one of its competitors taken to his sickbed, but in the end Kevin Sbraga triumphs and takes home the title.
Upon hearing that he's "Top Chef" in the Wednesday (Sept. 15) finale, he responds in disbelief, "I am?"
"Best reaction ever," observes judge Tom Colicchio.
For their final challenge, Sbraga, Angelo Sosa and Ed Cotton have to cook the best four-course meal of their lives, using all the same proteins. There's a vegetable course, a fish course (rouget, cuttlefish, cockles, slipper lobster), a meat course (pork belly, whole duck) and dessert (oh noes!).
As we already surmised, they pair up with past winners. Kevin and Angelo get the champs they want, Michael Voltaggio and Hung Huynh, respectively. Ed wants Michael also, but he gets Ilan Hall, whom he constantly reminds is supposed to be his sous chef.
The big hiccup of course...

No pressure, just prepare "the most amazing food" ever. The heat was on more than usual Wednesday for finalists Angelo Sosa, Ed Cotton and Kevin Sbraga on the finale of Top Chef: D.C., which featured one of those skilled 'n' cocky up-and-comers trimphing over adversity, 24-hour flues and cuttlefish. This time, each contestant was granted a champion-caliber sous chef: former Top Chef winners Ilan Hall, Hung Huynh and Michael Voltaggio. So really the big challenge there was keeping all of those massive egos in check sufficiently enough to get food on the plate. And as if coming up with four dishes, including a vegetarian plate and a dessert, isn't enough, when Padma Lakshmi tells you how...

After "Top Chef's" Emmy-winning season in Vegas, the Bravo culinary franchise took to the nation's capital to up the stakes.
"Top Chef: DC" concludes its seventh season on Wednesday, Sept. 15 in Singapore, where finalists Angelo Sosa, Ed Cotton and Kevin Sbraga vie for the coveted title, money, prestige and of course, lovely Kenmore appliances.
In the all-male finale, the chef'testants appropriately get help from all-male former champions: Hung Huynh, Michael Voltaggio and Ilan Hall.
Let's break down how each has done this season thus far:
Angelo Sosa - The New Yorker specializes in Asian cuisine, which is why the Singapore finale has particular appeal (and pressure) for him. He's won two elimination challenges and a whopping four quickfires. He's stumbled a bit lately, and his rather cocky perfectionism has rubbed some the wrong way. No one can doubt his passion for food though.
Ed Cotton - This Queens...
