On tap right now is some good old fashioned indie splatter in the form of some new stills and even a trailer for the upcoming flick Open House, not to be confused with the other flick of the same name with "True Blood"'s Stephen Moyer.
Open House is directed by Brian Troxell, who is currently in post-production on his latest film, Intrusive Behavior, and the cast includes Jessica Cameron (Silent Night, Camel Spiders), Savana Jade Wehunt ("The Walking Dead"), Mel Heflin (Plan 9, The Pit), Russ Forga (Ft. Slaughterdale), Jennifer Ward, and Jimmy Dempster (Intrusive Behavior, Undead Apocalypse).
The script for Open House was written by Michael Clinkenbeard, and the film is being produced by Johnna Troxell, Ylian Snyder, and Brian Shirley.
Synopsis:
When Wardell Subotsky was 8 years old, his mother made ends meet by working as a real estate agent. After witnessing her countless sexual favors to get the properties sold,...

In an eleventh hour attempt to steal the best horror film title of the year from either Dead Hooker in a Trunk or Know Models Were Harmed, the new spring break slasher Ft. Slaughterdale has thrown its hat into the ring and released a new teaser trailer.
Ft. Slaughterdale is the tale of a construction welder named Eddie who falls to his death due to the shenanigans of drunken spring break revelers, only to return from the dead each year to exact his revenge. Muh-wa-ha-ha-ha. According to early information this film was made in true '80s style and is filled with the three b's: blood, boobs and booze. And not to mention a killer in a welding mask. Nice! Looking at this film and Sweatshop released earlier this year, I'm thinking welding gear may be replacing hockey masks as the new staple of the genre.

I had a cool opportunity to sit down with Tony Todd and we talked about Final Destination 5 (which comes out on August 5th) and the return of his character to the long running horror franchise. He also talked about Sushi Girl which has an impressive all-star cast that we'll be seeing real soon. We also talked briefly about a cool horror film I've been following from the beginning called "Cut", I have several friends involved in this project and I had to bring up Adam Green and the Hatchet movies because they rock.
It's good to see Todd back in the Final Destination franchise and I can't wait to see Sushi Girl!
Tony Todd is a genuine person, down to earth and as cool as they come, especially putting up with me for a little while plus he's a proud owner of my Crocaloctopus comic book and even asked...

Don Jeanes is a true Hollywood rising star, as he is set to star in three Sci-Fi projects including the highly-anticipated Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, the hit web series “Alpha Planet” and the upcoming SyFy Channel film The Ascension. Whether it’s the silver screen, small screen or computer screen, Jeanes will be hard to miss this summer.
In Transformers: Dark of the Moon (opening on Wednesday, July 29th), Jeanes plays the legendary Neil Armstrong and appears alongside Shia Labeouf, Josh Duhamel, Patrick Dempsey and Francis McDormand. In this 3D installment of Transformers, The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and learn its secrets, which could turn the tide in the Transformers' final battle.

Yep, this is still one of my Versus interviews, I just changed the title up some. Meaghan Rath plays Sally in Syfy’s new hit show Being Human. This week, Fat Guy Kevin Carr dresses up in a fabulous blue feather outfit and takes a trip to Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. There, he runs into a couple blue macaws trying to escape exotic bird smuggles, but he’s too busy getting his freak on to help out. Later, he comes back to the states to visit the quaint town of Woodsboro, only this time he’s traded in his fabulous blue feather outfit for a long, black cloak and a “ghost face” mask. After making some calls to random twentysomething girls who are supposed to be teenagers and asking them what their favorite scary movies are, he spent a night in the hospital from a stab wound to the face. Oh, the humanity! Want to hear what Kevin has to say on the Fat Guys at the Movies podcast? Take a listen below as Kevin is joined in the Magical Studio in the Sky...

Kelsey Zukowski is a talented young screenwriter/actress based in the Chicago area. In the past year the DePaul University graduate has made a name for herself in the indie film scene, especially in horror. I predict big things from Miss Zukowski! Check out my latest Versus with Kelsey Zukowski to learn more about her, some current projects and advice she has for you, oh and this thing called bacon.
Brian S- First off, who are you and where did you come from?
Kz- Hello, I’m Kelsey. I’m from Eastlake, Oh, a suburb outside if Cleveland. I’m extremely passionate about the horror genre and am a huge film fanatic. I really love writing and acting in interesting films that question the dynamics in human nature and societal norms. I tend to be attracted to the darker side of this, it’s just very enthralling for me to examine.

Lloyd Kaufman is the president and co-founder of Troma Entertainment and one of the main reasons I love horror movies so much! He's been a key instrument in low budget indie filmmaking getting noticed and has opened so many doors for filmmakers. Unless you've been living under a freaking rock you've heard of Troma's The Toxic Avenger and once again Toxie will grace our screens soon. Kaufman also has the 12th annual Tromadance Film Festival which will crank up again beginning April 22nd and run through April 23rd. The cool thing about this fest is there's no entry fee for filmmakers so what are you waiting for, get over there and enter your project! Well, this is my first post here on Geek Tyrant, so I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Deneen Melody, and I am an actress that has been given the opportunity to write here on Geek Tyrant, yay! It is pretty darn cool to have the chance to do something like this, so I would also like to thank Geeky Bastard himself, Brian Shirley, and the rest of the Geek Tyrant team. I hope that my blog will gain some new followers to the site and give an insight to the world of an independent actress. (Who just happens to be a huge Geek. So, expect plenty of posts about Geek Culture as well.)
