When actress Yvette Nicole Brown first heard that California Gov. Gavin Newsom had appointed Laphonza Butler to serve as U.S. Senator on Oct. 1, filling the seat left vacant following the death of longstanding Democratic senator Dianne Feinstein, her immediate thought was, “Of course.” Having been a part of the search committee that ushered in Butler’s historic appointment to president of EMILYs List in 2021, Brown has witnessed the newly minted politician’s leadership firsthand.
“She was instantly a rock star,” says the EMILYs List board member. “She was the first woman of color — Black woman — to lead EMILYs List. She was the first mother we ever had. That brought a whole other energy to what we were doing as an organization.

Former The Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel has been involved in plenty of reality TV drama over the years, but her love life has also been chaotic. Her marriage to pharmaceutical sales executive Jason Hoppy ended in a nasty divorce and legal trouble for Frankel.
When a love like this turns so toxic, it’s natural for someone to wonder how they ended up in such a situation. In Frankel’s case, she lays the blame for this doomed romance at the feet of Andy Cohen.
Frankel’s whirlwind marriage ended in acrimony
Frankel married her second husband, Hoppy, after two years of dating in an ornate televised wedding in March 2010. (She was married to entertainment executive Peter Sussman from 1996–97.) Bethenny was already pregnant at the time. The couple welcomed their daughter Bryn into the world two months later.
But the marital bliss didn’t last long afterward.

HBO Max is delving into the life of one of the more infamous figures in Hollywood’s recent history.
The streamer is developing a drama based on the life of Heidi Fleiss, the former “Hollywood Madam” who ran a prostitution ring that had a number of high-profile clients. The project comes from writer and executive producer Maggie Cohn (The Staircase), with Fleiss serving as a consultant on the project.
Fleiss was arrested on a number of prostitution charges in 1993, and her trial on the charges was a media sensation. Though Fleiss herself never revealed names of her clients, Charlie Sheen testified that he had used Fleiss’ services numerous times; Australian media mogul Kerry Packer was also named during the trial.
Fleiss was convicted in state court, though that was overturned after an appeals court ruled jurors had swapped votes to avoid a deadlock. She was convicted on separate federal charges...

Rhony: Bethenny Frankel wears long flowy dress from four years ago, says she was ‘younger and cuter’

Bethenny Frankel might top the list of richest Bravo personalities with an estimated net worth of 80 million, but that doesn’t mean she’s above recycling an outfit.
The Real Housewives of New York alum recently sported a maxi dress that she first wore four years ago, and she shared the story behind it.
Bethenny posted the past and present photos on social media and noted that the first time she wore the dress, she was “younger and cuter.” However, the difference between then and now is that Bethenny was not happy, and the Skinny Girl creator noted how far she’s come since then.
The post was an ode to her fiance Paul Bernon as that was the same dress she had on during their second date after having issues with their first go around.

The film written by Anna Greenfield is loosely based on her experience living in Brooklyn in her 20s. It centers on Louise (Gillan), an aimless millennial who drunkenly breaks her hip, landing her in physical therapy. There, she makes an elderly Polish Bff (Stein) who speaks no English. And it’s this unlikely friendship that gives her the courage to face what she’s been running from all along: Her mother’s early-onset Alzheimer’s.
