This article contains spoilers for Succession.
While Succession is rife with satirical dark humor, narcissism, nepotism, and Shakespearean family betrayal, the show certainly isn’t going to draw many viewers in through the use of warm and cozy relationships. Perhaps only Connor (Alan Ruck) and Willa (Justine Lupe) serve as the exception there. Logan Roy (Brian Cox) is an abusive father who hit Roman (Kieran Culkin) and toyed with Kendall’s (Jeremy Strong) ego and pride. Shiv (Sarah Snook) shanked her brother in the back in the series finale. Roman took a low blow at Kendall’s ability to be a hereditary father. The list goes on and on. The millionaires and billionaires that make up creator Jesse Armstrong’s critical darling are people seemingly incapable of love or genuine affection.
That’s where the dynamic duo of Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) and Greg Hirsch (Nicholas Braun) come into the fold.

The “Succession” Season 4 premiere didn’t just spike ratings — it spiked search engines.
Following a viral scene in which Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) shades Greg’s (Nicholas Braun) date Bridget, played by Francesca Root-Dodson, searches for the “ludicrously capacious” bag in question have skyrocketed.
During patriarch Logan’s (Brian Cox) dismal birthday party, Tom slams Bridget’s Burberry tote bag.
“What’s even in there? Flat shoes for the subway? Her lunch pail? I mean, Greg, it’s monstrous,” Tom says. “It’s gargantuan. You can take it camping. You could slide it across the floor after a bank job.”
Per Yahoo!, searches for the official Burberry Medium Title Vintage Check Two-Handle Bag, which retails for $2,890, jumped 310 percent according to Google Trends data provided by virtual fitting room company 3Dlook. Subsequent searches for “Burberry handbag” went up 180 percent, with “Burberry tote” increasing by 25 percent.

(The bid for power has not only intensified in season 4 of "Succession," but is approaching its end. Now more than ever, anyone can come out on top. Who is wielding power or being blinded by it? Who never stood a chance in the first place? As the series comes to a close, we'll be tracking the rise and fall of the Roys, their allies, and their never-ending list of enemies.)
Five years ago, "Succession" began with Logan Roy's (Brian Cox) birthday party. It was a thrilling affair: baseball was played, dreams were crushed, and Logan endured his very first health scare. In other words, it was harrowing! But somehow, the birthday celebration glimpsed in the season 4 premiere is even bleaker. This time around, the family is divided: Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook), and Roman (Kieran Culkin) don't even bother to attend their father's big day because they're too busy making their own pile,...

In the eyes of this lifelong Batman fan, Gotham will forever remain a wonderful part of the character’s enduring mythos. I’m aware of how a percentage of you scoff at how it retold the Dark Knight’s beginnings – and those of his villains, for that matter – but it’s important that creators keep things fresh. After all, our hero couldn’t have gotten this far if everybody rehashed the same tales over and over again.
Over the five years that Gotham had been on the air, I couldn’t help making comparisons to Smallville in various news articles and reviews. And at a time like this, it’s hard not making another one. I say that because while both shows had a similar goal in fleshing out the backstory of a beloved icon, Smallville covered much more ground during its ten-season lifespan. On the plus side, like Smallville,...

In just a few hours, the five-year journey that’s been Gotham will have finally come to an end. With the “No Man’s Land” story arc now being behind us, the series will jump forward by ten years in order to show the Batman that its version of Bruce Wayne ultimately becomes. Not only that, but we’ll also see more fully developed iterations of the Riddler, Penguin and Joker.
Speaking of the Joker, we’ve been given one tease after another when it comes to him, be it via official or unofficial channels. But who we’ve seen remarkably less of is that of Jeremiah Valeska’s main squeeze, Ecco. For all intents and purposes, she’s this series’ take on Harley Quinn because that character is off limits for some stupid reason. In my view, not allowing a Batman series of any sort access to Joker and...

The bird has been sprung from his cage, and just in time to see how it all ends.
In TheWrap’s exclusive clip from Thursday’s series finale of “Gotham,” Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) has been released from prison and is walking out of his jail cell to a slew of Gotham’s press, dressed in all the penguin-suit glory fans of Fox’s Batman prequel series have been waiting for.
When he’s asked by a journalist about the first thing he’ll do now that he’s a free man, he responds: “I will lay flowers on the grave of my beloved mother.”
However, when the topic of Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) — and how Gordon put him in prison — comes up, Cobblepot says this: “The best revenge against Jim Gordon will be a life spent serving the city I love.”

“Gotham” dropped a new trailer for the Fox drama’s Feb. 21 episode on Friday, revealing that (spoiler alert?) Cameron Monaghan’s Jeremiah Valeska is for sure The Joker. Yes, you’re shocked, we know.
Here’s the official description for next Thursday’s installment in the final season of the Batman prequel series, titled “Ace Chemicals,” which will feature Jeremiah’s “birth” into the famous villain who definitely no one already suspected he was:
Gordon races to uncover the criminal element threatening to end talks of Gotham’s reunification with the mainland. A very-much-alive Jeremiah (guest star Cameron Monaghan) returns and organizes a twisted recreation of the murder of Bruce’s parents, with the help of Jervis Tetch aka Mad Hatter (guest star Benedict Samuel) in the all-new “Ace Chemicals” episode of Gotham airing Thursday, Feb. 21 (8:00-9:00 Pm Et/Pt) on Fox.

On the one hand, I’ve been rather entertained by what Gotham‘s fifth and final season has offered thus far. But on the other, I’ve been waiting with bated breath to see all of the cool stuff teased in various trailers. I guess that’s to be expected when shooting wraps before the first episode has a chance to premiere.
One such thing I’ve been geeked for is that of the confrontation between Bruce Wayne and Jeremiah Valeska in the appropriately titled “Ace Chemicals.” In that episode, we can expect to see their feud build to a crescendo – and to possibly serve as the pivotal moment marking Jeremiah’s transformative experience.
But, until the big moment arrives, we can rely on this freshly released gallery of images to tide us over. As you begin to browse, notice how both the Mad Hatter and Ecco are there to...

Gotham star Cameron Monaghan decided to treat instead of trick his fans this Halloween as he took to Instagram to share some new photos from the upcoming season 5 which gave us a fresh look at his character Jeremiah Valeska. And, as we’ve heard before, he’s now got himself a girlfriend in the form of Francesca Root-Dodson’s Ecco, who looks like she’s going to become the proto-Harley Quinn to Jeremiah’s juvenile Joker.
Monaghan’s images depict the happy couple dancing together in some kind of abandoned creepy stock room. Dressed in matching striped outfits and with Jeremiah’s wide-brimmed hat and Ecco’s unique hairstyle, there’s definitely a Clown Prince and Princess of Crime vibe going on here. The actor captioned his post: “For some people, every day is Halloween.”

If you’re a devoted fan of Gotham, then you may remember the strange ballad that played out a few years back when we all assumed it was a certainty that Erin Richards’ character of Barbara Kean would become the Batman prequel series’ version of Harley Quinn. Heck, various members of the cast and crew had been dropping teasers for just that leading into season 3’s finale.
Well, after the spring of 2017 passed, it became apparent the transition wasn’t coming to fruition, with the producers even backpedaling by saying there’d never been any plans to bring in the Clown Princess of Crime. To me, it just seemed like WB’s motion picture division told them “hands off,” just as they did with the Joker.
Funny enough, the truth came out when executive producer John Stephens spoke with Bam Smack Pow at New York Comic Con by first revealing that Barbara nearly became Magpie,...

Gotham is a fascinatingly odd take on the Batman mythos, so I was glad to hear the show had been granted a fifth season in order to round out its story. Though the upcoming final outing is a shorter run than usual, the show seems determined to bring as many Batman villains as possible to its universe. This season, we know we’re going to get Shane West as Bane, Cameron Monaghan’s weird-ass not-Joker and now it seems that Francesca Root-Dodson is going to be playing Harley Quinn. Or at least, a Joker girlfriend who is very, very like Harley.
The situation with what’s going on with Gotham’s take on the Joker and Harley Quinn is a pretty strange one. Remember in the early 2000s when Warner Bros. were bizarrely paranoid about their film and TV divisions promoting multiple versions of the same characters simultaneously? Well, something similar’s happening again,...

"They're like fertility junkies!" Netflix has debuted an official trailer for the indie dramedy Private Life, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year as the Opening Night film. Private Life is the latest film by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Tamara Jenkins and it's about a couple in New York dealing with the challenges of infertility and conceiving. Kathryn Hahn plays an author undergoing multiple fertility therapies to get pregnant, putting her relationship with her husband, played by Paul Giamatti, on edge. The full cast includes Kayli Carter, Molly Shannon, Emily Robinson, Francesca Root-Dodson, and Tracee Chimo. This is a very classy, sensitive film, balanced with some smart humor, and it received mostly positive reviews out of Sundance. I highly recommend this. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Tamara Jenkins' Private Life, direct from Netflix's YouTube: Private Life is the bracingly funny and moving story of Richard (Paul Giamatti...
