Few Hollywood directors have managed to combine a distinctive artistic vision with tremendous commercial clout as successfully as Tim Burton. You can say what you want about his more recent output (I checked out after the heinous "Alice in Wonderland"), but there is no denying that the guy knows how to make a hit movie. In a career spanning almost 40 years and 19 films as a director, few of his movies have lost money, save for the likes of "Ed Wood." And even then, "Ed Wood" flopping felt like an appropriate tribute to its subject matter, the so-called worst director of all time who never found fame or made any money during his life.
Before the failure of his affectionate biopic of the man behind "Plan 9 From Outer Space," Burton had hit the ground running with a string of hits that showcased his left-field sensibilities while drawing in the crowds.

“The Batman” star Zoe Kravitz will star in another film for Warner Bros. after the studio won a bidding war for “The Sundance Kid Might Have Some Regrets,” an adaptation of a sci-fi heist short story that Kravitz will also produce.
The short story is narrated by one-half of a pair of bank-robbing twin sisters, who considers herself the face of the operation. But it is her sister Maggie who gets the heists done with her superpowers, which include telekinesis, super strength and invincibility. The narrator and Maggie have stuck together through it all, but the narrator begins to question their criminal lives after one attempted robbery goes awry and ends up in a hail of gunfire.

The long wait for Matt Reeves' "The Batman" is finally over! While many have gushed about Robert Pattinson's take on the Dark Knight or Paul Dano's unforgettable turn as the Riddler, another major topic of conversation has been Zoë Kravitz's fantastic portrayal of Selena Kyle. This is technically not the first time that Kravitz has played Catwoman, as she voiced the character in "The Lego Batman Movie."
The Cat, as she was initially called, can be traced all the way back to "Batman" #1 in 1940. She was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. While all of the Caped Crusader's rogues' gallery has been revamped time and again,...

Actress, singer, and director Zoe Kravitz is speaking candidly about her experiences in Hollywood and the harsh reality of rejection.
Before she landed the role of Selina Kyle (Catwoman) in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, Kravitz was underutilized, taking on supporting or side characters in films like Divergent, and X-Men First Class. The actress eventually got tired of being typecast and learned to cope with rejection. She told The Guardian, “Even though it’s sometimes hard to see that in the moment,” Kravitz says, “usually a few years later, you’re like, Ok, this is why this didn’t happen.”
Kravitz tried to audition for Selena Kyle in 2012 for The Dark Knight Rises, and was told she was “too urban.”
“I don’t know if it came directly from Chris Nolan,” she says, anxious not to impugn the reputation of an award-winning director. “I think it was probably a casting director of some kind,...

Zoë Kravitz was born with a name to live up to. But as an actor, director and performer she has made it her own. She talks about fame, the perils of cancel culture and embracing her inner cat
Zoë Kravitz is show-business royalty, the daughter of actor Lisa Bonet and musician Lenny Kravitz. I expected her to be candid – throughout her career she’s been outspoken: on race and Hollywood, on body image and politics. In 2017, she starred in a British Vogue video in which she yelled, while sharing odd items she keeps in her handbag, “Fuck Trump!” And when we meet one evening via Zoom – me in London, her in LA – she doesn’t disappoint. Here she is, easygoing and thoughtful in conversation, an A-lister speaking her mind rather than the asinine niceties offered by more careful celebrities. “I’m just a fucking nerd,” she says at one point,...

Take a look at new images of actors Robert Pattinson as ‘Bruce Wayne’ and Zoë Kravitz as ‘Selena Kyle’ , photographed by Giselle Hernandez, from “The Batman”, directed by Matt Reeves, opening March 4, 2022:
"...set in his second year of fighting crime, the film sees Batman uncover corruption in Gotham City...
"...while facing a killer known as the 'Riddler'...
"It's very much a point of view-driven, 'noir Batman' tale," said director Reeves.
"It's told very squarely on his shoulders... "...and I hope it's going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional…”

This year is going to be huge for DC and Warner Bros.
While we’re now less than a month away from “The Batman,” Matt Reeves’ bold new interpretation of the caped crusader (with Robert Pattinson in the cape and cowl), and DC and Warner Bros. want you to know that this is just the opening salvo in a year-long smorgasbord of superhero content. With a new sizzle, we get brand new footage from “Black Adam” (starring Dwayne Johnson) and “The Flash” (with Ezra Miller), alongside a glimpse of Aquaman (Jason Momoa) in his new costume from “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” My man!
“The Batman,” which also stars Zoë Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano and Jeffrey Wright, arrives in theaters March 4. Reeves has described this as “Year 2” of Pattinson’s crusade as Batman, this time going up against the Riddler (Dano) and the Penguin (Farrell) while forming an uneasy alliance with Selena Kyle,...

Bruce Wayne’s masked alter-ego is a man of many monikers.
There’s the Caped Crusader, Bats, and The Dark Knight, the latter of which arguably became the most popular of the bunch when Christopher Nolan’s 2008 masterpiece graced theaters. But there’s another title that’s often prescribed to Batman: World’s Greatest Detective.
Forget Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot, it’s Bruce Wayne who holds the title of the world’s best detective, though he’s forever indebted to Alfred Pennywise and that trusted utility belt. Both will surely feature in the 2021 reboot – aptly titled The Batman – and at least according to the film’s co-writer, Mattson Tomlin, Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader will do a fair bit of sleuthing as he watches over the streets of Gotham City.

Meow! Michelle Pfeiffer recently reunited with a beloved prop-turned-set souvenir: the whip she cracked while playing Catwoman / Selena Kyle in the 1992 movie Batman Returns. "Look what I found," the 60-year-old actress said on her Instagram page on Friday, alongside a video. "Needs a little TLC." In Tim Burton's Batman Returns, Michael Keaton played Batman / Bruce Wayne, reprising his role from the director's 1989 film Batman. Batman Returns also starred Danny DeVito as the villain the Penguin. Batman Returns helped Pfeiffer become more famous and also drew a new group of fans—comic book and superhero aficionados....
