Back in December, the folks at Spooky Pinball announced that they were making a very limited edition pinball machine inspired by Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. If you (like me) weren’t able to get one of those 888 machines, well, at least that wasn’t our only chance to play a Chainsaw pinball game. A while back, Zen Studios brought a horror-themed pinball game called Pinball M to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pinball M includes pinball games inspired by the likes of John Carpenter’s The Thing, the Chucky franchise, Dead by Daylight, Duke Nukem, and Zen Studios’ Lovecraft-inspired Wrath of the Elder Gods Director’s Cut – and on June 6th, it will be adding a pinball game inspired by the 2022 film Texas Chainsaw Massacre!

The much-awaited return of the ghost detectives on the silver screen is finally available on Netflix, and the fans seem to love it. Based on the DC Comics characters of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, the Netflix series is created by Steve Yockey and it follows the story of two ghost detectives who decide not to ascent to their afterlives to stay on Earth and investigate the crimes involving the supernatural. Dead Boy Detectives exists in the same universe as Netflix’s hit DC fantasy drama series The Sandman, and while it is different from The Sandman in its story and visuals, the Dead Boy Detectives seem to be connecting with the fans. So, if you loved the charm and supernatural shenanigans in Dead Boy Detectives here are some similar shows you should check out next.

She claims she’s been busy working on her portfolio and, of course, she doesn’t mention being out in the woods all alone with a shovel after the homecoming dance.
Simon’s also a little distracted and is wearing mismatched socks for his interview with Northwestern. He’s hoping the Northwestern alum will understand that he’s been thinking about his best friend being murdered. Simon admits he doesn’t think it makes any sense that the janitor killed her. (He knows Maddie didn’t have a sack of cash which is supposedly the motive for her murder.

Although Paramount+’s School Spirits episode five ended with Maddie and Simon discovering a secret way out of the basement, episode six begins with a heated discussion about jocks. Simon (Kristian Flores) can’t believe Maddie (Peyton List) said yes to going to the homecoming dance with Wally. If Maddie was still alive, she wouldn’t be caught dead on a date with a football player.
Maddie, understandably, wants to steer the conversation back to her murder.
All this is going on as Claire (Rainbow Wedell) and her minions are gossiping about Xavier over lunch. Her girls don’t know that she and Xavier were hooking up, and Claire seems to be paving the way for a public display of affection by responding to his text. She shocks Xavier (Spencer Macpherson) by agreeing to go with him to homecoming.

In "School Spirits," protagonist Maddie (Peyton List) wakes up one day to discover she's a ghost - and, possibly even more disconcertingly, she's trapped in her high school forever. In the show, which premieres on Paramount+ on March 9, ghosts are everywhere, they can see everything, and unfortunately, they also can't leave the place where they died.
Despite playing a ghost on screen, List herself actually doesn't like to entertain the idea that ghosts might be walking among us. "I feel like the mind is so powerful. I prefer to say no," the 24-year-old star tells Popsugar. "I don't let any of that in, because I think the mind can just run and create a reality. I'm going to try to keep telling myself no . . . even though weird things keep happening to me and to people around me."
Her costar Sarah Yarkin - who plays fellow ghost Rhonda - also says...

Chances are good that, if you know me in the real world, you’ve heard me repeat/paraphrase/mangle the Samuel Johnson quote, “[W]hen a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.” I believe that deeply.
Allow me to mangle/paraphrase the quote further, because while Johnson never said, “[W]hen a man is tired of ghosts, he is tired of the afterlife,” I’m beginning to believe that I am, indeed, suffering from ghost fatigue. Which is not, in fact, a less appreciated Mission: Impossible sequel.
The show with the poor fortune to trigger this growing apparition-apathy is Paramount+’s middling boo-dunnit School Spirits. But it could just as easily have been ABC’s middling comedy Not Dead Yet or a mini-marathon of CBS’ Ghosts or lingering memories of last summer’s instantly forgotten (but actually better than middling) Netflix series Boo, Bitch. School Spirits is coming to Paramount+ on Thursday, March 9.
It follows the story of Maddie, a high school student who goes missing from the school.
Maddie may be missing, but her spirit remains, and she discovers there's a thriving afterlife associated with the school of all of those who died within it.
The series has a wonderful, talented cast and is bursting with emotion. The underlying mystery of what happened to Maddie provides a solid throughline for getting to know more about the school and its permanent (?) inhabitants.
We participated in press day to get a little insight into the show, but it's more of a tease. After all, we don't want to take away the joy of discovering the School Spirits' mysteries on your own!
Up first is a discussion with co-creators, executive producers, and siblings Nate Trinrud and Megan Trinrud, as well as showrunner and executive producer Oliver Goldstick.

School is difficult enough, but it's about to be more difficult for a teenager named Maddie (played by Peyton List), tasked with solving her murder.
Paramount+ dropped the official teaser for School Spirits this week, and it looks set to be one of the most talked-about shows of the year so far.
The trailer introduces us to Maddie, a teenager who finds herself dead, and her spirit is stuck at school.
Maddie has no idea how she died, but she can see the reactions from the other students in the school as she tries to comprehend how she got stuck there.
The minute she tries to step foot off the school grounds, she's taken back to the crime scene.
It's a compelling hook for a teen drama, and the official trailer makes it seem like this one is worth watching.

While everyone goes through physical, mental, and social changes as they begin to transition into adulthood, the high school experience isn't the same for everybody. During its presentation at the Television Critics Association’s 2023 winter press tour, Paramount+ debuted new teaser art for the third and final season of “Star Trek: Picard,” which premieres on Feb. 16. During the panel about the series however, the team behind the series didn’t seem so sure that this would be the end.
“Who knows?” executive producer Alex Kurtzman said when asked about the ending of the series, with star Patrick Stewart saying that if the show could “maintain the work quality” of the first three seasons, he would be open to reappearing. He also noted that the storylines of the final season intentionally “leave doors open.”
The series stars Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, who he played for seven seasons of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd also star.

"Be careful what you f*!#g wish for." Searchlight Pictures has revealed the initial teaser trailer for an indie film titled Not Okay, a cautionary tale about social media fame and fortune. Written and directed by actress Quinn Shephard (who also directed Blame a few years back), the film stars Zoey Deutch as Danni, who, as she says in this trailer, wants to be "noticed so badly" that she goes too far trying to get attention. A misguided young woman, desperate for friends and fame, fakes a trip to Paris to update her social media presence. A terrifying incident takes place in the real world which becomes a part of the imaginary trip and offers all she wanted. This trailer reveals terrorist attacks in Paris are what she pretends to have survived. Eeesh, definitely "not okay." Deutch stars with Dylan O'Brien, Mia Isaac, Embeth Davidtz, Brennan Brown, Karan Soni, and Sarah Yarkin.

"This is an 'active art' zone." Vertical Entertainment has revealed a fun official trailer for an indie comedy called Tankhouse, marking the feature directorial debut of actor Noam Tomaschoff. This film has skipped premiering at festivals and will be out in May for anyone to watch. They challenge an incumbent theater group to win a local competition. Starring Tara Holt & Stephen Friedrich as Tucker & Sandrene, plus Joe Adler, Nadia Alexander, Austin Crute, and Sarah Yarkin, with Richard Kind and Christopher Lloyd. It looks like something made by theater nerds just for theater nerds to laugh at. “When I first signed on to the project, we didn’t really imagine that it would be so well-loved by people. But I really enjoyed finding the fine line, at least in the vocality of what we were doing, between emotion that can be portrayed more easily physically,” Sprouse tells Rolling...

In the grand old splattered hallways of slasher horror movies, few franchises are as up and down and all around as that of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Since Tobe Hooper terrified us back in 1974 with, what is still, one of the greatest and most terrifying, raw and sadistic horror films ever made, there have been numerous attempts to match this landmark original.
Some have drawn cult fandom, some continue to fiercely divide (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation), some are just plain terrible (2017’s Leatherface) or meh (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3: Leatherface) and some are rather underrated if very flawed attempts at taking the lore elsewhere while remaining somewhat true (Texas Chainsaw 3D). But now, ol’ Leatherface faces his next challenge, and most frightening…social media!
Netflix’s new addition to the franchise takes a page out of Candyman and Halloween’s book, and is a ‘requel’ or legacy sequel...

The original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a movie that was based on the build-up of tension, until it became unbearable for the audience, with an explosion of violence that many don’t forget. Made in 1974, it has had sequels, been remade in many forms through the years and Netflix are the latest to give an attempt to revamp the series with a follow up to the original. The question is, does it live up to the original?

The post which you are about to read is an account of the tragedy which befell a group of four youths, in particular Melody (Sarah Yarkin) and her traumatized sister Lila (Elsie Fisher). It is none the more tragic in that they were, in the words of one but the sentiment of many, total "gentri-f***ers." But, had they lived very, very long lives, they could not have expected nor would they have wished to see as much of the mad and macabre as they were to see that day. For them an on-brand summer afternoon delight became an afternoon de-fright. The events of that day have...

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise is an odd one. There’s about four different timelines despite not that many movies, and although the quality has actually been good (for the most part), none have really got close to the sheer sense of terror that the first movie delivered. As always though, I was very much excited to see the latest movie.
This one is a direct sequel to the original movie and not linked to any other sequels that came before it. A new timeline altogether set in present-day almost fifty years after the original as Leatherface is once again disrupted by a new group of young friends and is soon getting to...

For nearly 50 years, Tobe Hooper's masterpiece of independent filmmaking, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, has populated every list detailing the most influential, greatest, scariest horror films of all time. And it justifiably deserves every single accolade in some way.
The gruesome masked killer, Leatherface, has continued his rampage as any good scary movie villain should, with sequels, remakes, origin stories, and now, with David Blue Garcia's Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a chance to communicate the massacre again in modern times. The result is an uneven mix of modernistic sentiments and simplified social commentary combined with the visceral driving force of a buzzing chainsaw, brutal gore, and unabashed violence for the sake of violence.
A group of idealistic young people escapes the city for a new beginning in the rural town of Harlow. Melody (Sarah Yarkin) and her teenage sister Lila (Elsie Fisher) have short-lived peace as they disrupt the...
