Written and directed by Matthew Ninaber (Psycho Goreman), who also appears as the frightening monster in the film, the adrenaline-fueled action horror stars his brother Jeremy Ninaber (Escape the Dark), Ethan Mitchell (Escape the Dark) and Kristen Kaster (If I should Die).
When a secret experiment goes horribly wrong, bioengineer Dr. Chloe (Kaster) becomes trapped inside a secret underground facility. Research shows that summer camps for kids with pediatric cancer can strengthen social skills and self-esteem and facilitate moments of needed respite.
Northwestern Mutual, through its Foundation and in collaboration with Lollipop Theater Network, recently hosted The Ultimate Camp-In, a one-of-a-kind at-home virtual camp experience bringing together hundreds of children and families affected by childhood cancer. Complete with star power from camp “counselors,” the Ultimate Camp-In was a memorable day of connection and carefree adventure for families facing similar challenges.
By collaborating with Lollipop Theater Network, a non-profit dedicated to bringing movies and entertainment to children in hospitals due to chronic or life-threatening illnesses, the pastime of camp was transformed into a virtual experience enjoyed in homes across the country, creating connection in the age of social distancing.
The event kicked off Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to support those affected, while also raising awareness and funds for research and cures.

ABC has opted not to renew new midseason drama Deception for a second season.
Written by Chuck alum Chris Fedak, Deception premiered March 11 and easily won its Sunday 10 Pm slot thanks to a lead-in from the debut of American Idol on ABC. Deception‘s bow drew a 1.3 in 18-49 and 6.1 million total viewers — the network’s best scripted premiere numbers in the hour since Quantico in September 2015.
It was a respectable start for a drama in the current ratings environment, though not a breakout. By April 23, though, the series had dropped to its lowest demo rating: a 0.6, with 3.38 million viewers. The series has since recovered a bit, drawing a 0.7-0.8 for its subsequent airings, but that wasn’t enough. In most current ratings, Deception’s Season 1 average is 1.2.

In an interview published Sunday with Screen Rant, Channing Tatum's writing-producing partner Reid Carolin revealed that the star actor is consulting the help (well, at least this once) of a real-life magician to prep for his upcoming Gambit role. "Last night, we were with my friend who I went to college with — this guy David Kwong, who is an incredible magician — and he was teaching Chan how to throw cards and do sleight of hand," Carolin recalled. Although Tatum is revving up that aspect of his character, Carolin noted that he didn't think Tatum had Gambit's Cajun accent ready (booooo). Production for the Gambit movie is slated to begin in the fall in New Orleans, with Rupert Wyatt at the helm. "The script is really good," Carolin added. "To be honest, I don’t watch big movies for pleasure a lot, but this script convinced me that we...

Magicians have amazed audiences with illusions for centuries, but in modern entertainment, filmmakers are the reigning wizards. Visual effects are their illusions. CGI is their bag of tricks. All that is very familiar to French director Louis Leterrier, whose movies include The Incredible Hulk and Clash of the Titans. But for his latest movie, Now You See Me, opening today in theaters, he set out to limit the use of computer-generated effects.
“I was coming from those big spectacle movies where CGI was almost like one of the main characters, but from the very beginning [of developing Now You See Me] we decided to take a low-tech approach to everything,...

New Delhi, May 25: Dave Franco, who is playing the role of a sleight of hand magician in 'Now You See Me', got into a serious magic learning mode on the sets.
The actors of the film worked with a magic consultant, David Kwong, to learn the tricks of the trade.
Dave Franco said that he learned how to throw playing cards, and he got weirdly good at it, to the extent that he can actually cut a banana in half with a playing card now.
"I don't know if that's something to be proud of. But I spent hours on end, over a span of months, learning how to do that. And I will probably never use it again in my life until I have kids,".

Dave Franco (yes, the James Franco's little doppelganger brother) is called "The Sleight" in the upcoming heisty magic movie "Now You See Me," and now he's ready to prove that his hand skills do indeed live up to that moniker ... and also that, just like his brother, his intellect is likely of the right-brain nature.
Franco and real-life magician — or should we say as real-life as magicians get — David Kwong teamed up for this new promo video for the film in which Franco smiles maniacally and throws cards at the camera. It's a technique called, you guessed it, "card-throwing" and Franco proves to be pretty apt at it. It's all in the wrist, of course!
What he's not so keen on, unfortunately, is quick counting the number of tries it takes him to hit his target. It's okay; he's so dreamy it doesn't really matter (hence the giant grin).

"Now You See Me," a heist movie with magicians standing in as the thieves, is set to hit theaters this May. The film stars Jesse Eisenberg as the cocky leader of the Four Horsemen, a group of magicians plotting to steal millions of dollars and give it to their audience. Filmed on location in Paris, New Orleans, Las Vegas, and New York, the picture, from Louis Leterrier ("The Transporter"), pulls together a surprisingly varied cast from Woody Harrleson to Michael Caine to Mark Ruffalo. At the 5 Pointz urban graffiti showplace last November, the stars of "Now You See Me" sat down for several roundtable discussions with a few select outlets.
