The “MADtv” revival is coming to The CW this month and will include a slew of original cast members. TVLine reports that Nicole Sullivan, who formed part of the series from 1995 to 2001 and Will Sasso, cast member from 1997 to 2002, will guest star on the series premiere July 26.
The site also confirms that Bobby Lee, who had a role on the variety series from 2001 to 2009, will appear in an upcoming episode. The new “MADtv” will feature appearances from two original cast members every episode, who will join the new cast: Carlie Craig, Chelsea Davison, Jeremy D. Howard, Amir K, Lyric Lewis, Piotr Michael, Michelle Ortiz and Adam Ray.

Back in January, The CW aired a “MADtv 20th Anniversary Reunion.” The one-hour retrospective featured classic clips from the show’s 14 seasons, interwoven with new comedy material that included 19 series alumni.

When it comes to summer TV fare, The CW isn’t just getting even, it’s getting Mad. The network today announced the cast for its reboot of MADtv. The sketch comedy program will feature eight up-and-comers, four men and four women, to star in the show’s skits. The cast includes Carlie Craig, Chelsea Davison, Jeremy D. Howard, Amir K, Lyric Lewis, Piotr Michael, Michelle Ortiz and Adam Ray. The network also said that some of its past stars will make guest appearances in the upcoming season. As far as who that might be, that remains a mystery. MADtv aired on Fox from 1995-2009. The Emmy-winning series propelled the careers of Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele and Artie Lange among others. The network has ordered eight episodes of MADtv. It makes its debut July 26 at 9 Et/Pt.
