Perhaps the strongest contestant to perform during the two-hour premiere of “The Voice” Season 24 was Mara Justine, whose cover of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” received a four-chair-turn after only about 30 seconds (watch above). As coaches Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani and John Legend all fought for Mara to join their teams, some viewers at home may have found themselves scratching their heads over how familiar the 21-year-old New Jersey girl looked. And for good reason: she previously appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and “American Idol.”
Back in the ninth season of “AGT” in 2014, Mara was only 11 years old but she still wowed judges Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, Mel B and Heidi Klum with her booming voice. During that show’s live quarterfinals she took on “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry, an artist who coincidentally later judged Mara every week on “American Idol.”

One of the most talked-about acts to come out of this year’s “America’s Got Talent” auditions is Putri Ariani, thanks in no small part to Simon Cowell blessing her with his Season 18 Golden Buzzer. All these months later, Simon is reflecting on the 17-year-old blind singer/songwriter’s audition at the piano and he’s expecting big things for her in this competition. “I would be amazed if she’s not either the winner or the runner-up. I mean, that’s who I put my money on,” he reveals in the NBC video above.
Putri came all the way from Indonesia to show the world her talent, and she performed two songs on the big stage: “Loneliness” and “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word.” “There was something about her, even before she started to sing,” Simon now declares. “I just — I had a feeling. And I’ve done this a long time.

“America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” continued Monday, February 6 with the sixth and final set of 10 performances from some of the most beloved acts in “Got Talent” history. In previous installments, two acts advanced to The Finals per episode, but this week there was only one spot up for grabs. That decision came down to the superfans who chose singer Kodi Lee as the 11th all-star finalist.
Kodi’s selection meant that the nine other performers were eliminated from the competition. In a recent poll, we asked “Who was wrongfully eliminated on February 6?” and though “AGT” fans were split between two top choices, spoken word poet Brandon Leake came out on top as the artist most deserving of a spot in The Finals with 26 of the vote. Just behind him was comedian Josh Blue with 25 and singer Daneliya Tuleshova next with 18.

Three of the four judges on “America’s Got Talent” laughed their lederhosen off during the June 28 episode when German magician-comedians Siegfried and Joy took the stage. The lone holdout? Why, it was Simon Cowell, of course. The British judge got booed by the studio audience when he called the fake magicians “a bit stupid” and refused to vote them through to the next round. But he was outvoted by the trio of Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara, who all said “yes” and advanced Siegfried and Joy to the Judge Cuts.

Longtime viewers of “America’s Got Talent” are used to seeing amazing magicians wow the judges with their mesmerizing tricks — just look at past winners Mat Franco (Season 9) and Shin Lim (Season 13). On Tuesday’s episode, Patrick Kun entered the competition and immediately became a threat to win the reality TV show thanks to his incredible card tricks that left all four “AGT” judges with their jaws on the floor. Simon Cowell even admitted that what he witnessed “can’t be explained” by anything other than the fact that magic is real. Watch the video above.
Patrick started out by explaining that he wants to do magic for the rest of his life, adding with a wink, “I sold my soul a long time ago.” The Pittsburgh resident is newly married, but revealed his wife isn’t such a big fan of magic anymore because, “She thinks I love magic more than her.
