“Una Pequeña Confusión,” an ensemble comedy starring “Ted Lasso” star Cristo Fernandez, Emmy-nominated actor-producer Juanpa Zurita, Ana de la Reguera (“Nacho Libre”) and Vico Escorcia (AppleTV+’s “Acapulco”) is set for a December theatrical release by Mexican powerhouse film company, Videocine.
The comedy revolves around two couples: Lola and Cuau (De la Reguera and Fernández), a progressive middle-class pair, and Iñigo and Majo (Zurita and Escorcia), a young conservative, well-heeled duo. Both couples turn to artificial insemination as a last resort to have children.
In a madcap twist based on actual events, a mix-up at the clinic results in each mom-to-be carrying the other one’s baby. The couples must navigate their vastly different lifestyles and parenting philosophies, finding common ground for the sake of their future children, all while dealing with societal norms and the complexities of love.

With over 15 years of experience producing reality TV, Ine Entertainment comanaging partners Mark Koops and Eric Day have learned to start looking beyond the Hollywood bubble for promising talent.
“We’re out there listening [and] consuming content … and you start to recognize that there are changes afoot. There are new voices that want to see themselves on screen and talk about their lived experiences in different ways,” Day told TheWrap for this week’s Office With a View. “When you’re listening to that, your filter then is authentic people that have a passion for doing something, and there’s a marketplace for that in the television landscape.”
After working with unscripted personalities like Jillian Michaels on “The Biggest Loser” and Gordon Ramsay on “MasterChef,” recognizing potential in young influencers isn’t too far of a stretch for the duo, whose recent slate includes Amazon Kids+’s “Surprise & Seek,” which...

It’s a drizzly Mondy morning in New York, and the hotel restaurant I’m sitting in is filled with the sounds of prep work for the day. To me, the tinkling glasses and ringing silverware are easily ignorable, the hodgepodge of clinks and clatters immediately fading into the background. But for writer and director Rudy Mancuso — of Vine and YouTube stardom — there’s a veritable drum line around us, being played bottle by bottle. Actually, it’s the very reason we’re here.

Zoe Lister-Jones’ new Roku series, “Slip,” has taken the fascination with metaverses to a whole new dimension — courtesy of a few Earth-moving orgasms that take her out of this world. Literally.
“Slip” centers on Lister-Jones’ character, Mae Cannon, whose life is “a super banal dream where nothing really happens” and the excitement happens when she is dreaming. Or is her dream world reality?
“You just need to wake up, but then you realize there’s nothing to wake up from because the dream is occurring while you’re awake, sleeping to find meaning and waking to lose it,” she says at the start of the Roku series. “And all you wanna do is sleep to dream of something more.”

And it’s finally coming to an end. Rather than celebrate the closing of this year at grand, in-person parties or festivals, streamers and linear television networks are offering safe at-home alternatives on Dec. 31. Why go out when you can ring in the new year from your living room, anyways?

Seven years after Gia Coppola turned a dreamily sympathetic eye on the pretty, youthful wasters of her high-school-set debut “Palo Alto,” she returns with “Mainstream,” packing a far smaller store of compassion and a lot less insight into the next micro-life-stage of telegenic wasted youth. A brittle, exasperated satire on social media celebrity, her sophomore film, like the tacky messiah it creates in Andrew Garfield’s YouTube sensation, soon becomes the very thing it sets out to expose: Sure, it’s a platitude [shrug emoticon] but hey, it’s delivered with attitude. Maya Hawke plays Frankie, a disaffected young bartender in a low-rent comedy club, where she works alongside aspiring writer and singer Jake. During the day, Frankie slouches around L.A., absently filming little nihilist vignettes to upload to her undersubscribed YouTube channel. YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki is forging onward with the platform’s push toward transparency by sitting down with yet another creator on camera for a wide-ranging interview.
Following similar conversations with Matthew Patrick, Juanpa Zurita, Alfie Deyes, and Prajakta 'Mostly Sane' Koli, Wojcicki's most recent one-on-one was moderated by Try Guys star Eugene Lee Yang. Throughout their 45-minute conversation, Wojcicki touched on a number of pertinent issues, as well as those that were important to Yang -- but didn't offer any particularly new information. Topics included ongoing demonetization concerns related to YouTube's recent Coppa settlement (for which Wojicki reiterated that YouTube is pushing for more clarity), as well as its new harassment policy, which seeks to crack down on veiled threats and malicious insults of protected classes.
More broadly, Yang also asked Wojcicki about YouTube's approach to radical content in an increasingly polarized political climate, and how it deals with...
