Over the years, many Survivor castaways have had to be pulled from the game for their safety. Some get injured during challenges, while others’ bodies succumb to the elements. Unfortunately for Neal Gottlieb, he had to join the exclusive group of Survivor medical evacuations during season 32, aka Survivor: Kaôh Rōng — Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty.

Survivor Season 32 split the show’s 18 castaways into three tribes — Brains, Brawn, and Beauty. And Neal, as an Ice Cream Entrepreneur, fit right in with the Brains tribe on Survivor: Kaôh Rōng — Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty.
Neal quickly connected with Aubry Bracco, and the twosome later found themselves in the middle of Liz Markham and Peter Baggenstos vs. Debbie Wanner and Joe del Campo, which helped them survive their first Tribal Council.

Survivor is a brutal game, and every castaway that signs up to play knows the risks that come along with it. Producers thrust them into dangerous conditions, including unfamiliar species, limited resources, and harsh weather. Sadly, sometimes the CBS reality competition series’ circumstances result in medical evacuations from the show. And that’s what happened to Caleb Reynolds in Survivor Season 32, aka Survivor: Kaôh Rōng — Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty.

Kelley Wentworth might have had a sense of deja vu during a difficult endurance challenge on episode 8, “I’m the Puppet Master,” on this week’s edition of “Survivor: Edge of Extinction.” As the fourth player to drop out of the challenge where individual immunity was at stake, she got a bird’s-eye view of the moment when her closest ally in the game, college athlete Lauren O’Connell, 21, suddenly started to black out and fall to the ground.
Kelley is one of four veteran castaways who was previously on Season 29 “Survivor: San Juan del Sur — Blood vs. Water” and Season 31 “Survivor: Cambodia — Second Chance.” It was in Cambodia that she witnessed her fellow “Extinction” returnee, Joe Anglim, swoon and fall during an endurance challenge when he suffered from low blood sugar (see video above).
The good news is that Lauren, who has previously felt nauseous and hasn’t had a substantial meal in ages,...

What a ride. "Survivor: Kaôh Rōng," aka Season 32 -- and the second to carry the "Brains, Brawn, and Beauty" theme -- ended last night with a dramatic two hour finale and one-hour reunion show. Who won the $1 million and title of Sole Survivor? Mark the Chicken! Ok, maybe not, but he earned it. He was even there at Final Tribal on Tai Trang's lap.
It would have been awesome if #MarkTheChicken came in carrying the urn with votes #SurvivorFinale pic.twitter.com/ltWnfnH6NN

In the end, the only two players to get votes were Aubry Bracco (Brains) and Michele Fitzgerald (Beauty), with Tai (Beauty) as the "goat." Aubry got two votes (Joe, Debbie) and Michele got five (Julia, Cydney, Nick, Jason, Scot), so it was a solid win for Michele. After 39 brutal days in Cambodia, Survivor: Kaoh Rong has crowned a winner.
Winning this season wasn't easy. There were three medical evacuations – the most in Survivor history.
At the beginning of Wednesday night's episodes, there were four contestants left – and each had a strong argument for why they should win the game.
Aubry Bracco had played an exceptional social game, building bonds with other castaways and keeping herself out of real danger. Tai Trang had formed – and broken – key alliances, propelling himself through the game.
Michele Fitzgerald proved herself to be a good scrambler, talking herself out of trouble.

What. A. Season! Survivor: Kaoh Rong has been quite the whirlwind. Remember that time a bug crawled into Jennifer's ear and it was the worst thing we've ever seen? And then of course, there was that time three contestants—including finalist Cyndey—collapsed from heat stroke and nearly died. Three different contestants have had to be medically evacuated, making this one of the dramatic seasons this show has ever had. Tonight's finale started with four finalists, including Cydney, Aubry, Michele, and Tai. The votes in the first tribal council resulted in a tie, which had to be broken with a fire-starting challenge. Aubry easily built a fire while Cydney couldn't even...

The road to the Survivor: Kaoh Rong finale has been a bumpy one. A high of three people were medically evacuated this season. Fifteen more had their torches snuffed. Only Aubry, Cydney, Michele and Tai (don't forget Mark the Chicken!) remain and their about to duke it out for the title of sole Survivor for Season 32. Let's find out who the last man/woman (or chicken) standing will be.

We are down to the final four members of the Dara tribe on Survivor: Kaoh Rong -- Aubry Bracco, Cydney Gillon, Michele Fitzgerald and Tai Trang. Former Brain tribe member Joseph Del Campo was pulled from the game when he developed an enlarged prostate that could have caused damage to his kidneys.
This season has been crazy and unpredictable, and I think it is safe to say that several of the remaining contestants are a bit of a shocker. So who will win Survivor: Kaoh Rong and claim the $1 million prize? Let's take a look at the strengths and weaknesses of each contestant.

Blindsided by beef! "Survivor: Kaoh Rong," aka Season 32, is now down to its final four, and that last elimination was arguably the worst. Who wants to be kicked out of the game for eating too much? Joe Del Campo, a 71-year-old former FBI special agent, was evacuated from the game for medical reasons at the final five. His departure marked the third medevac of the season, which is a record for "Survivor."
It came about in the strangest way, too. Unlike Caleb Reynolds, who collapsed in the heat of a challenge, or Neal Gottlieb, whose cuts and bruises got worse to the point of dangerous, Joe just ate too much. Seriously. He won the reward challenge, his first individual win, and when it came time to eat, he just overdid it on the steak kabobs. Some Survivor eliminations are more painful to watch than others.
Alecia Holden, a 24-year-old real estate agent from Dallas, was inexplicably put on the "Brawn" tribe of Survivor: Kaoh Rong. It didn't go well.
Holden never quite fit in with the rest of her tribe. From the start, she was on the outs with former NBA star Scot Pollard and Michigan bounty hunter Kyle Jason. The clashes grew increasingly personal – and viewers have taken to social media to blast Pollard and Jason for actions they thought were misogynstic and disrespectful.

Over the years, Survivor has had its share of medical evacuations. Sometimes, it was the contestant's own fault, like when Mike Skupin fell into a fire during 2001's Australian Outback. Sometimes, it was due to illness, like when Panama's Bruce Kanegai found himself severely constipated. Other times, the blame falls on the producers. In 2012, contestant Kourtney Moon broke her wrist during an ill-conceived challenge that had contestants jumping from a 25-ft. tower into a net. But no Survivor has been quite as brutal and chaotic as last week's episode, where contestants spent nearly an hour digging in hot sand for bags of balls.

Everything went wrong last night on "Survivor: Kaoh Rong."
Even host Jeff Probst said he was "the most frightened I've been in all my time on 'Survivor,'" and this is Season 32. Three people collapsed. One was evacuated. And the episode ended with an infuriating round of bullying, hypocrisy, and the elimination of the most likable person on the Brawn tribe.
The drama started right away at the Reward Challenge. Everyone has talked about the particularly difficult conditions this season, and the heat took its toll when the players had to dig in the hot sun, with no hydration or protection. Debbie Wanner of the Brains tribe was the first to drop. Probst checked on her, and made sure she was fine. Then Cydney Gillon of the Brawn tribe and Caleb Reynolds of the Beauty tribe (and also "Big Brother 16") both dropped, and it was clear they were really in trouble.

This week on Survivor, everybody almost died. After a brutal challenge in scorching 118 degree Cambodian heat, three contestants zonked out from heatstroke, and Caleb took a (Russell) Swan dive that ended with a medevac.
It's really the humidity that kills you.
The Fishy Award goes to Dr. Joe. He stayed calm, cool, and collective while the entire cast twitched and foamed at the mouth like they were extras on The Walking Dead. First Debbie went loopy, then Caleb collapsed and Cydney broke down. Dr. Joe had ice packs, water bottles, and battlefield wisdom for them all. (Though for some reason,...

The last couple of seasons of Survivor have been pretty consistent in the ratings and that's no easy feat these days. Will this venerable competition series continue to perform for CBS? Will it be renewed for a 33rd season or, will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
Jeff Probst returns as host with Survivor: Kaôh Rōng. The "Brains vs Brawn vs Beauty" season splits contestants into three teams based on intelligence, athleticism, and attractiveness. The players are Peter Baggenstos, Aubry Braco, Joseph Del Campo, Michele Fitzgerald, Cydney Gillon, Neal Gottlieb, Darnell Hamilton, Alecia Holden, Kyle Jason, Anna Khait, Jennifer Lanzetti, Nick Maiorano, Elisabeth Markham, Scot Pollard, Caleb Reynolds, Julia Sokolowski, Tai Trang, and Debbie Wanner.
The higher a show's ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better its chances for survival. New ratings data will be added as it becomes available -- typically around 11:30am Est/8:30am...
