Several names have been rumored for the job, but Marvel Studios has not confirmed any of them. Given the massive scale of the film, fans are hoping that a talented filmmaker will be tapped to helm the project and now it looks like we finally know who the top choice is.

Imagine. The year is 1994 and you are a huge superhero fan. You sit down to watch your favorite cartoon show, a thrilling battle of good versus evil. In this week’s episode, Charles uses his mental might to clash with a blue enemy who promises to be his friend.
The cheesy voice-acting and choppy animation doesn’t disrupt the experience. In fact, it makes it better, intensifying the clash between Charles and the blue guy until you can’t take it anymore and you unleash your hero’s battle cry:
“Spoon!”
Because, of course, you’re not watching X-Men: The Animated Series, nor even Batman: The Animated Series, both respected superhero cartoons that get ample praise today. No, the Charles in question is Brainchild, a precocious evil pre-teen (voiced by Rob Paulsen) who enhanced his intelligence by giving himself a glass covered throbbing brain.
And the other guy is the personification of Mighty Blue Justice,...

Deadpool And Wolverine Officially Rated R For "Bloody Violence, Language, Gore, & Sexual References"
When it was announced that Marvel Studios was moving forward with a third Deadpool movie, it was generally assumed that the Merc With a Mouth's antics would be toned down to meet the usual PG-13 rating.
After all, it was difficult to imagine the Disney-owned studio giving the go-ahead to an McU-set project filled with gruesome violence, F-bombs, and whatever other outrageous references/innuendo Wade Wilson's unhinged mind could conjure up.
Director Shawn Levy would later confirm the rumors that the movie would be rated R, and any lingering doubts vanished after the first trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine showcased plenty of blood, bad language, and... pegging.
Now, the MPA has given the movie an official R-rating for: "Strong bloody violence and language throughout, gore, and sexual references."
Does this mean we can expect more R-rated MCU movies going forward? If D&w is a success - and early tracking...

Yesterday evening, the news broke that Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy is being eyed to helm Avengers 5. Marvel Studios must be pleased with the Merc with the Mouth's upcoming threequel, but the report also featured another major revelation.
Apparently, the movie - previously titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty - will feature upwards of 60 Marvel characters!
As you might have guessed, that got us thinking about who we'll see in Avengers 5. While Marvel Studios has already introduced hundreds of heroes and villains, not all of them would fit into this movie.
So, no, this isn't just a list of 60 MCU characters, it's our breakdown of who we believe would fit into the story as well as which corner of this shared world they hail from. There are bound to be some surprises and glaring omissions which upset some fans, but we think this is a pretty definitive list of exciting possibilities.

Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two was the first big blockbuster of the year and led to a horde of new fans joining the fandom. The Timothée Chalamet starrer was based on Frank Herbert’s popular sci-fi novels and was the sequel of 2021’s Dune: Part One. The film also starred Stellan Skarsgård, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, and more.
While the film’s release led to many ‘Lisan-al-Gaib’ memes, nothing from the film went as viral as the infamous Dune popcorn bucket. The sandworm-shaped bucket was an object of ridicule from fans as well as the stars themselves. Ryan Reynolds recently released the Deadpool and Wolverine popcorn bucket as a joke, to which Villeneuve has responded.

Marvel Studios is still finding its director for the much-anticipated Avengers 5, and director Shawn Levy is reportedly at the forefront of prospects. The Canadian filmmaker has quite a lot going on after working on Deadpool & Wolverine, and now, he’s busy with the production of Stranger Things Season 5, so it’s not quite sure whether he wants another job on his plate.

Regardless, the Avengers 5 is still a long way to go, although his potential involvement in the franchise may also mean he could bring one of the most in-demand stars of today into the MCU.

For a while now, the status of Marvel’s next Avengers movie has been in flux. Back in July 2022, Kevin Feige announced that the Multiverse Saga would offer up two major hero team-up movies: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and Avengers: Secret Wars. But in the wake of underperforming Phase 4 movies, and Jonathan Majors being dropped as Kang after an assault conviction, the plan changed – The Kang Dynasty is no more, Shang-Chi’s Destin Daniel Cretton stepped down from directing to focus on Shang-Chi 2 instead, and little has moved since then.
Until now. Because, according to Deadline, Marvel is eyeing up Shawn Levy as the man to next assemble the Avengers on screen. The filmmaker is currently hard at work in the final stages of Deadpool & Wolverine, which is gearing up to be a real big box office win – and, as a result, Marvel Studios is said to be keen...

This X-Men article contains major spoilers for the Krakoa era comics.
Evolution. Mutation. Change.
These concepts have always been at the heart of the X-Men story. Even the fairly straightforward Silver Age adventures by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby made in the 1960s positioned mutants as the next stage in human evolution. Yet, rarely has the franchise made a leap as pronounced as it did in 2019, when writer Jonathan Hickman came on board to radically alter all of Marvel’s mutants with the game-changing House of X/Powers of X event books.
Five years later, with the release of X-Men #35, which is also the 700th issue of Uncanny X-Men as a whole, the Krakoa era has come to an end. The next era of X-Men books, From the Ashes, kicks off this summer and will see Marvel’s Merry Mutants returning to a world that hates and fears them. While...

You don't need all your fingers to count the Marvel Comics stories more influential than "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
In the dark future of 2013, America has been conquered by the mutant-hunting Sentinel robots. Most of the X-Men are gone, mutants live in concentration camps, and the world stands on its nuclear brink as the other nations prepare to strike against the Sentinels. To prevent this apocalypse, X-Woman Kate Pryde travels back in time.
You see, things went to Hell on Halloween 1980. Mystique and her Brotherhood of Evil Mutants assassinated anti-mutant Senator Robert Kelly, intent on showing humanity they will supplant them as the Cro-Magnon did the Neanderthal. Instead, this event inflamed anti-mutant sentiment and led to the Sentinel takeover. If Kelly isn't assassinated, maybe this awful future will never happen.
"Days of Future Past" was Byrne's penultimate story on his original "X-Men" and he goes with a banger.

“The Truth is… I Am Iron Man”. The iconic line for Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark kick-started the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the first Iron Man movie back in 2008. Ever since the franchise evolved and expanded beyond comprehension and currently stands as one of the most star-studded ones in Hollywood. However, the biggest pull and win for this new connected universe truly came with 2012’s The Avengers and its subsequent iterations.

Deadpool & Wolverine Maker Shawn Levy Is Allegedly Being Eyed To Direct Avengers 5(Photo Credit –Shawn Levy/Instagram)
Ahead of the release of Deadpool and Wolverine, Shawn Levy is allegedly getting more good news regarding the next Avengers movie, Avengers 5. The MCU has been going through a rough phase recently, and this Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman can finally bring back the lost glory of Marvel and kick off the summer box office this year. Keep scrolling for more.
Marvel is very cautious about its releases. Only one MCU movie is coming out this year, and Avengers 5 has been shrouded in controversy for a long time, especially after Jonathan Majors’ firing from Marvel. He played the role of Kang the Conqueror and was being set up as the next big baddie in the MCU. Things went down south after he got arrested and was found guilty in the domestic violence case.

Marvel Studios may have finally found a director for the next Avengers movie.
According to both Deadline and THR, Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy is in talks to helm the project, which was formerly known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty prior to the departure of Jonathan Majors as the villainous Kang the Conqueror.
The studio reportedly offered Levy the gig in mid-March, but he turned it down at the time as he was still putting the finishing touches on Deadpool and Wolverine and was also working on the final season of Stranger Things.
Apparently, Marvel's decision to "push the film by several months" opened the window of opportunity, and negotiations are now underway.
It sounds like this if far from a done deal, however. Levy is said to have been given the latest script by Michael Waldron, but has not given an answer on whether he will definitely come aboard,...

Deadpool & Wolverine is not in theaters for almost another two months, but the hopes and aspirations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe—and perhaps now the summer movie season box office itself—are already being placed on Ryan Reynolds’ broad, leather-clad shoulders. So it’s not like the Merc with a Mouth needed any more pressure. Yet pressure he might receive if the latest report out of Deadline is true: director Shawn Levy has entered early talks to helm the next Avengers movie.
The discussions are apparently in early stages, with the trade noting Levy has been handed the latest draft of the screenplay by Michael Waldron, but that Levy has apparently not decided if he would like to direct the film. Disney/Marvel Studios kicked off April's CinemaCon presentation with a fun "silence your cellphones" PSA featuring Deadpool and Wolverine, and the spot is now playing in theaters - minus the multiple F-bombs!
A shorter, poor-quality version of this leaked earlier this month, but the full thing has now found its way online.
The teaser begins with Wade Wilson attempting to tell Logan which characters are set to debut in Avengers: Secret Wars, but every time he tries, he's interrupted by a cellphone ringing. Finally, the notoriously grouchy mutant pushes the Merc with a Mouth out of the way and breaks the fourth wall himself.
"Hey, bub, You're in a movie theater, not your grandma's nursing home - turn off your f*cking phone!" Deadpool then chimes back in by mentioning that Wolvie talking this way makes his "d*ck vibrate." He then adds, "Nice fourth wall break, didn't think ya had it in ya!

The Avengers may be assembling for Shawn Levy.
Levy, who is busy putting the final touches on Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine, is in contention for the film and may be the studio’s choice to direct the next Avengers film.
The development is characterized as very early. Sources say Marvel and Levy are talking about the project and that the studio gave the latest script to the filmmaker late last week. But sources also say that other filmmakers are in the mix for the high-profile gig.
There is reason for some caution. Marvel previously — and quietly — offered the directing gig to Levy in mid-March, but at that point, the filmmaker turned it down. Scheduling was the concern at the time, as Levy is moving from various duties on Deadpool & Wolverine, which opens July 26, to the last season of Stranger Things. As Deadpool & Wolverine stands ready to save the summer box office, Marvel Studios may be looking to director Shawn Levy to save the Avengers as well. Deadline has heard that Levy has been given Michael Waldron‘s script for the next Avengers movie, and while no decisions have been made, it’s possible the studio may be eyeing him to direct the film.
Deadline adds that Marvel is “still planning to meet with other directors while they wait on a decision from [Levy].” However, he’s got some big projects on his slate. He will be “heavily involved” in the final season of Stranger Things and is also developing a Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm. Even if Levy doesn’t end up directing the next Avengers movie, I’d wager that he definitely has a future at Marvel, particularly as the studio seems to have a lot of faith in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Even if Levy doesn’t end up directing the next Avengers movie, I’d wager that he definitely has a future at Marvel, particularly as the studio seems to have a lot of faith in Deadpool & Wolverine.

The MCU is at it again, as they have made their fandom go nuts with the release of the new trailer of Venom: The Last Dance. The fans are baffled by the fact that Chiwetel Ejiofor portrays different roles in the superhero franchise. But what has left them confused is how a small part of the symbiote was left behind in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The segment is now a part of the MCU, leaving fans dazed. Even though it might sound surprising to some fans, this is not the first time when the franchise has massacred its holy timeline. Back in 2022, the fans were left equally bewildered because in the post-credits scene of Morbius an old face from Ssu was featured.

Beloved Character Will Skip Deadpool and Wolverine to Avoid 'Messing with Logan's Timeline' - Main Image
Deadpool & Wolverine is expected to feature several surprising cameos, but there’s one character fans have been wanting to see: X-23. However, it seems like it won't happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to avoid messing with Logan’s timeline.
Fans know by now that Wolverine dies in the 2017 Logan, which was supposed to be Hugh Jackman’s final movie as the adamantium-clawed superhero.
However, the actor will make his triumphant return in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Given X-23’s importance in Logan and the possibility that the third Deadpool film may feature remnants of the 20 Century Studios movie, it’s the perfect time for Dafne Keen to reprise her role as Laura Kinney after seven years.
Sadly, she confirmed in an interview with On Demand Entertainment that it wasn’t happening.
“It's sad.

Actor/ director and comedian Jordan Peele has been the mastermind behind some of the most talked about horror movies, including Get Out, Us, and of course, Nope. However, his recent cinematic journey as a producer has not been quite as promising as Dev Patel’s very own Monkey Man, despite the hype, was far from making a splash at the box office.

Certainly, Peele deserves a break, and his recent meeting with Marvel Executives might just change his fate. With the recent report, fans might wonder what project Peele would pick up. While most fans almost believed that he would direct Mahershala Ali’s Blade, we think he might just land on a different exciting project, given Yann Demange is set to direct Blade (if Marvel Studios is still sticking with him).

The Russo Brothers, Anthony, and Joseph, are two of the most successful filmmakers of recent years and have been involved in some of the most successful Marvel iterations till date. This also includes 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, which resulted in a triumphant send-off for the director duo from the MCU, garnering almost $2.8 billion worldwide.

What’s more, back when the Russo Brothers were part of the MCU, it was effectively a golden bird for Marvel. Avengers: Endgame was the second-last movie of the MCU’s Phase III, and there has been considerable stagnancy ever since. Be it in the form of narrative problems, dwindling box office returns, or repetitive storytelling, there are simply a number of reasons why fans have not been as impressed with Marvel’s offerings over the past few years.

The aftermath of Avengers: Endgame had Marvel Studios enter its multiverse saga. A deep dive into the storyline with projects such as Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, marked the beginning of that chapter and threw open the doors to endless possibilities. Furthermore, after its take on Kang saw botched results owing to narrative failures in flicks like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, a revamp of sorts is on the way with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Just like how Robert Downey Jr. is considered pretty much the real-life counterpart of his onscreen Marvel character Tony Stark, Deadpool (aka Wade Wilson) is regarded as the comic-book counterpart of his onscreen portrayer, Ryan Reynolds. This is because of all the witty and sarcastic personality traits these two fan-favorites share, both onscreen as well as in real life.

Halle Berry had to sport Storm’s iconic hair when she was cast as the character for the X-Men franchise. But initially, wearing the Marvel character’s hairdo was one of the least appealing aspects of playing her.

If there is one fandom that is allowed to have the most trust issues, it is probably Marvel fans. The franchise is known for being especially untrustworthy with the information it gives out. The secrecy surrounding every single project in the MCU is ingrained in the very fabric of the franchise. The perfect example of how far they are willing to go to keep key details under wraps is what Andrew Garfield did in the days leading up to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Wolverine is arguably the most iconic of the X-Men, and largely has a very uniform identity which has been helped by Hugh Jackman’s iconic portrayal of the character in various live-action adaptations. The mutant himself, however, has been an integral part of the comics since forever, and was already extremely popular via the various animated iterations that came out, since the 1980s.

The short-tempered yet good-hearted, violence-loving savage has always belonged to Canada, although one particular iteration ended up changing that part of his identity. As it turned out, Parr worked on the pilot which was later cancelled alongside the likes of Will Meugniot, and Rick Hoberg, all X-Men fanboys. The group however,...

After years of lining up a slew of movies and shows post the Avengers: Endgame storyline, it has dialed back significantly with Deadpool & Wolverine standing out as its sole release for the year. Despite some quantity-over-quality issues during the Multiverse Saga, the MCU continues to draw massive interest from moviegoers and comic book fans. That goes some way in explaining why we get so many rumours about its future and we're back today with another roundup.
We start with information shared by Jeff Sneider. He chimes in on some recent rumblings about the MCU, including that latest report about Captain America: Brave New World needing only 22 days of reshoots (read more about that here).
Sneider believes more additional photography is planned for later in 2024 and notes, "From what I’ve heard, it's going to take a lot more than 22 days to fix everything that’s wrong with this movie."
Another supposedly troubled MCU project is Blade. First announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, the reboot has been through multiple writers and directors and, as we write this, still seems no closer to happening.

Deadpool, also known as Wade Wilson, debuted in 1991's "New Mutants" #98. Created by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Rob Liefeld, Deadpool quickly gained popularity due to his unique combination of dark humor, relentless violence, and a penchant for breaking the fourth wall.
Over the years, he has become a staple in the Marvel Universe, appearing in numerous comic books, animated series, and blockbuster movies. His irreverent attitude and complex personality have endeared him to fans worldwide. Here are five obscure facts about Deadpool that even hardcore fans might not be aware of!

When Logan came out in 2017, James Mangold had to age up Hugh Jackman to play an old man Wolverine. Seven years later, Jackman breaks his rule of returning to a character for a special case, but he would only be older. The Aussie had occupied the character since the genesis of the modern run of superhero movies at the turn of the millennium. Deadpool & Wolverine is a welcomed return for Jackman to the X-Men world, and it amazingly still makes sense despite the fandom already saying goodbye to him as the character years ago.
However, playing an intensely feral character for 24 years has made this last go much more difficult for Jackman. Especially with his older age. Deadline reports on an interview People Magazine had with Deadpool & Wolverine stars, Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. Jackman admits, “When I came back to it, it was really fun and I was thrilled.
