In a case of mistaken identity, the world’s deadliest assassin, known as the Man from Toronto, and a New York City screw-up are forced to team up after being confused for each other at an Airbnb.
In one of the first scenes in Patrick Hughes‘ new film The Man From Toronto, we watch as Kevin Hart‘s character Teddy Jackson try his best to make some inspirational YouTube videos. He is shown to not succeed at helping anyone at all and is essentially seen as a loser in the film. He is the butt of the joke, quite literally, because the residents of his hometown of Yorktown, Virginia, coin the phrase “Teddyed,” which basically means that somebody messed up.

Big George Foreman is a film directed by George Tillman Jr. starring Khris Davis.
Some movies simply wait for a great story to do all the work.
Foreman’s life was quite a story.
We can’t say the same for the film.
Movie Review
Some said the voiceover was anti-cinematic, and it was Scorsese (among others) who denied it film after film. This Big George Foreman wants to have a lot of Scorsese without achieving his pace, effectiveness and, above all, grace, and narrative freshness.
Big George Foreman is a film that resorts, at all times, to the obvious, to direct compassion, to that piece of American History a thousand times told in a thousand better ways and with more elaborate plots and less flat characters and, in the end, with more to say.
It is well executed technically, it knows how to behave, but the script’s compassionate...

So often thought of primarily as the big lug who was so dramatically dispatched by Muhammad Ali in the famous “Rumble in the Jungle” in Zaire in 1974, George Foreman is the main event in Big George Foreman. While there is plenty of boxing here to satisfy sports fans, the film is mild-mannered and genial to a fault as it charts the life of a dirt-poor Texas kid with a devastating punch whose public image transformed over the years from hulking bogeyman to that of a good-natured businessman and man of God.
Ali was such a commanding, entertaining and (mostly) adored worldwide figure, from his emergence as the self-anointed “greatest” to his ultimate status as one of the most beloved and admired men on the planet, that it isn’t easy to watch him take a back seat here to a younger but less charismatic figure onscreen. Boxing movies tend to be pretty great fodder for a harrowing feel-good story. Even people who don't give a damn about boxing otherwise would be hard-pressed not to cheer by the end of "Rocky" or "Cinderella Man." Sure, there is the occasional dark boxing tale, such as "Raging Bull," that makes for equally -- if not more -- compelling cinema. Today though brings us what appears to be an underdog story, and a familiar one for many fans of the sport, as the trailer for "Big George Foreman" is here. Or, to be more specific regarding the title, "Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World." And yes, they did put all of that on the poster.
In any case, this is the tale of George Foreman and, more specifically, his wildly unlikely comeback story as a boxer advanced in his years.

The official trailer has dropped for the George Foreman biopic, titled “Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World,” from director George Tillman Jr. It explores the life of the legendary boxer turned minister. Forest Whitaker portrays Doc Broadus, the boxer’s longtime trainer who introduced him to the sport, while Khris Davis will portray Foreman. Sullivan Jones will play Muhammad Ali, as the two boxers had iconic bouts during their careers, including the Rumble in the Jungle match in Zaire.
The biopic will follow Foreman’s boxing career highlights, including when he obtained Olympic Gold at the 1968 Mexico City Games and his world heavyweight champion run. Outside of his boxing career, the narrative will cover Foreman finding his faith, retiring and becoming a preacher. Finally, it will document his return to the ring at the age of 45 when his family and church faces financial hardship.

As Warner Bros attempts to shake up their whole content creation with DC films, only some schedule shifts are happening with Sony Pictures, according to Deadline. One of their biggest moves is pushing the Adam Driver sci-fi actioner, 65, back to the same weekend as Shazam: Fury of the Gods. The studio has faith that the movie will be able to compete with the DC superhero and gets pushed back so the latest Scream film can perform as best as can.
The plot synopsis for 65 reads, “After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills (Driver) quickly discovers he’s actually stranded on Earth…65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive. Sam Raimi produces. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods wrote A Quiet Place.

“The Man from Toronto,” Patrick Hughes’ new buddy comedy starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, is primed to pour gasoline on the debate by making another argument against Airbnbs as a less-than-viable vacation choice in 2022. But in this movie’s universe, along with chore lists and annoying rules, you could also find yourself mistaken for a world-renowned torture artist and forced to risk your marriage in order to save the world from nuclear destruction.
Teddy (Kevin Hart) doesn’t have a lot going for him. He does marketing for a boxing gym but gets fired when he forgets to put the gym’s address or phone number on his fliers. Attempts to drum up interest for his business idea, “Contact-Free Boxing,” which essentially amounts to boxing without hitting each other, are equally unsuccessful.

The wrong AirBnB can make all the difference — especially when it leads to a deadly case of mistaken identity.
Kevin Hart stars as a bumbling sales consultant who checks into the wrong holiday rental cabin in Netflix’s comedy of errors “The Man from Toronto.” When Hart walks in on a torture chamber, he quickly has to pretend to be the eponymous assassin from Toronto to save his own life. Yet the CIA wants him to stay undercover to help them find the real Man from Toronto, who is none other than Woody Harrelson.
The buddy comedy continues as Harrelson trains Hart to be him, and Hart has to decide whether or not to turn the Man from Toronto in to the feds. “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” director Patrick Hughes helms the Netflix film, streaming June 24.
Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Lela Loren, Pierson Fodé, Jencarlos Canela, and Ellen Barkin also star in the action-comedy.

"The clients want you both dead." Netflix has revealed the first official trailer for an action comedy called The Man From Toronto, which was originally a studio production at Sony / Columbia Pictures. They sold it off to Netflix to debut this streaming instead of in theaters nationwide. This is now opening at the end of the month on Netflix. A case of mistaken identity arises after a screw-up sales consultant and the world’s deadliest assassin — known only as "The Man from Toronto" — get mixed up at an Airbnb rental. Starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson as the two that must team up, along with Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Lela Loren, Pierson Fodé as "The Man From Miami" another assassin, Jencarlos Canela, and Ellen Barkin. Patrick Hughes (“The Hitman’s Bodyguard”) directed the film from a screenplay by Robbie Fox and Chris Bremner. Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Lela Loren, Pierson Fode, Jencarlos Canela and Ellen Barkin also star with Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch producing. Bill Bannerman, Aaron L. Gilbert and Jason Cloth are executive producers.
As the sole major studio in Hollywood without an in-house streaming service, Sony signed a first-look deal in April 2021 making Netflix its main streaming partner.

Netflix has acquired worldwide rights to Sony Pictures’ action-comedy The Man from Toronto, starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, Deadline can confirm. The film previously scheduled for release in theaters on August 12 will now bow on the streamer in all territories apart from China (where Sony continues to control all rights) later this year. Sony will also retain home entertainment and linear TV windows.
The Man from Toronto watches as the world’s deadliest assassin (Harrelson) and New York’s biggest screw-up, Teddy (Hart), are mistaken for one another at an Airbnb rental. The acquisition stems from the deal Sony entered into with Netflix last year, which has given the streamer first-look at its direct-to-streaming movies. Also factoring into the calculus for the move was Netflix’s mega deal and relationship with Hart.

Exclusive: NBC has opted not to proceed with its drama pilot Getaway. Headlined by Annie Ilonzeh, it starred two leads of recently canceled broadcast series that have since been resurrected, Manifest’s Matt Long and All Rise‘s Marg Helgenberger. Both actors are now available to do other shows, including their old ones, which both have been picked up for 20 episodes. Meanwhile, NBC’s other drama pilot, Dangerous Moms, remains in contention.
I hear Long is in talks about rejoining Manifest as a series regular though it is unclear if a deal will be reached. The missing plane drama was picked up for a fourth season by Netflix in August following its cancellation by NBC.
“I will be back for some of it, we’re just trying to find out the maximum I can do,” Long said backstage at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards last month when he was still attached to Getaway.

The small RSVP list of guests, led by a fearless female Army vet (Chicago Fire‘s Annie Ilonzeh), in turn do everything they can to stay alive.

Manifest was grounded for good earlier this year, and one of its stars is moving on.
According to Deadline, Matt Long has joined the cast of NBC pilot Getaway, from The Blacklist duo John Davis and John Fox.
Long joins a cast that includes Marg Helgenberger (CSI), Jasmine Mathews (The Rookie) and E.J. Bonilla (The Old Man), and Annie Ilonzeh (Chicago Fire).
All of the stars are set as series regulars, with one-year-deals, according to the outlet.
Long was reportedly approached to join the series when talks with Netflix for a revival of Manifest fell through with production company Warner Bros. TV group.
In recent days, however, both Netflix and NBC have restarted negotiations to potentially bring the series back from the dead.
Manifest catapulted to the top spot in the Nielsen streaming charts shortly after touching down on Netflix, amassing 2.5 billion minutes viewed its first week and 2 billion its second week.

‘Manifest’s Matt Long, Marg Helgenberger, Jasmine Mathews & E.J. Bonilla Cast In ‘Getaway’ NBC Pilot
Amid talks about a new season of Manifest, one of the canceled NBC series’ core cast members, Matt Long, has booked a new pilot at the network but fans of the missing plane drama should not be too worried about it. Long, CSI alumna Marg Helgenberger, Jasmine Mathews (The Rookie) and E.J. Bonilla (The Old Man) are set as series regulars opposite Annie Ilonzeh in NBC drama pilot Getaway, from The Blacklist duo John Davis and John Fox and Universal TV, a division of Universal Studios Group.
I hear Long was approached about Getaway after the options on the Manifest cast expired last month and studio Warner Bros. Director Chris McKay is making his live-action directorial debut with “The Tomorrow War.”
The “The Lego Batman Movie” director’s upcoming film is set in 2051, a time in which mankind is losing a war against an alien army and the world’s only hope for survival are the present-day soldier and civilian recruits being transported into the future to join the fight. Among these recruits is high school teacher and veteran Dan Forester (Chris Pratt), who teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) to save the planet for his young daughter and wife.
Intent on telling a human story alongside a story of deadly aliens from the future, McKay says he changed the whole third act of the script to properly detangle Dan’s complicated relationship with his father and give each character a moment to pop back up and in a way,...

The creatures they’re fighting are odd-looking beasts. Imagine the big-jawed monsters from the “Alien” films crossed with Velociraptors crossed with rapidly galloping chickens, with skin that looks like it’s been rolled in egg wash and dipped in white flower. They’re all limbs, tentacles, teeth, haunches, and lightning movement — and, in the end, not that different from the monsters in the “Quiet Place” films. “The Tomorrow War” could have been called “A Noisy, Frantically Derivative Place.” It’s an alien-combat time-warp movie that makes you long for the nuance of “Starship Troopers.” Much of it is flat-out cheesy, but as a film that was originally set to be released by Paramount, and is now an Amazon digital release, it feels right at home as an age-of-Netflix look-this-is-just-like-the-junk-you-could-see-in-a-theater film. It’s the definition of rousingly adequate.

After making her first on-screen appearance in an episode of Blue Bloods in 2017, things really started to take off for her. In Amazon Studios’ upcoming sci-fi blockbuster “The Tomorrow War,” Chris Pratt stars as Dan Forester — a soldier sent to the year 2051 to fight off against an alien invasion.
Beyond the film’s grandiose sci-fi elements, it deals with an array of contemporary family themes and the notion of what one generation owes to the next, as Dan is determined to rewrite the future in order to create a better life for his daughter.
During a virtual press conference for the film, Pratt and screenwriter Zach Dean explained how the movie’s story plays with the idea of conscription and the motivations that inherently drive a person to enlist.
“The idea of not having it be about necessarily an ideology or patriotism or loyalty to protect your country, but being about literally your desire to save your own kids,” Dean said. “Who doesn’t sign up for that? It’s a different thing.

Amazon has released the first official trailer for sci-fi blockbuster “The Tomorrow War,” debuting on July 2 and starring Chris Pratt as Dan Forester, a high school teacher (and military vet) who is recruited by a group of time travelers to fight a war 30 years in the future.
“I was trying to save my daughter,” a war-hardened Pratt says in the trailer. “If I’ve gotta save the world to save her, then I’m gonna do it.”
In the movie, an alien species threatens life on Earth, and the only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to travel to the year 2051 and help save the planet. Dan teams up with his estranged father, played by J.K. Simmons, and a brilliant scientist, portrayed by Yvonne Strahovski, to rewrite the fate of mankind.
In the trailer, soldiers from the future interrupt a televised soccer match to recruit present-day fighters.
